Flown Gulf Air on several occasions, (economy and business) and had a wonderful
experience on occasion - and not so great on others! It depends a lot on the crew as they
are so multi national. Service is improving but economy food does not cater for
European tastes much ( whenever I have travel there tends to be mainly Indian, Pakistani passengers in economy)
. No complaints about entertainment, in fact a very impressive range. I agree
that Bahrain airport staff are terrible - surly. Overall however I would say
tGulf Air are trying and if you are
lucky to get a good crew, and not a full flight then you will be happy.

I have flown Gulf Air before twice to Australia in Economy Class. They were the best airline I have flown in terms of customer service.
The inflight-entertainment was not what I had hoped for, but was adequate. If you are
lucky enough to fly an A330, the personal seat-back screen offers a great selection of movies and
other programs as well as interactive services. The food was very nice - by airline
standards -
and the attendants were generally very helpful, although it did take a while for them to respond to
call button calls. Kids offered activity packs and regular drink and snack services were made.
Ground staff were also very pleased to offer information and answer inquiries. Overall they are a
very good airline, from what I hear they are still improving. The long haul from London to Melbourne
was evenly broken up in to 3 shorter 8 hour legs.

Have used Gulf Air for First and Business class. Things seem to be getting
better, but they are not as good s either BA or Qatar Airways that I also use.
Seats in 1st class okay, but very dull cabin and service is not very good- same
in Biz class where staff service still weak. Don't expect anything much in
Bahrain - their lounge is a disgrace and you are better off in the main
departure hall. Some colleagues use Gulf economy class, and the biggest
complaint is the lack of decent inflight entertainment - but they reckon the
staff service in economy is probably better than up-front.
