I have flown the route at Economy Class before. AA's performance in the transpacific flights is much
better than other USA airlines, especially when comparing with NW and UA. You have your own PTVs in
Y class. You can enjoy good food and plenty of drinks. Those Japanese FAs are nice as well.

The 777s (San Jose-Tokyo) have Personal TVs in all clases - going to Buenos Aires I am guessing an
A300 or 767.

I think the AA service between San Jose and Narita is great, compared to what I usually do, NW to
Minneapolis or Detroit. The main reason is the "equipment", the 777. As response #1 stated about the
relaxed and strained service on AA, I agree, but it is even worse on NW!

I flew from San Jose to Narita twice in first class with American. The flights were certainly
convenient, but I must admit I am not a fan of any of the US airlines. The service was too casual
and strained for my taste, and the seat comfort was not as good as some competing airlines. Food was
also nothing special. Whilst there was nothing overtly wrong, the overall experience left me feeling
that this was an inferior product. Do JAL or ANA fly this route? They might make better choices.

I haven't flown that particular route, but I have flown AA in Business class from Buenos Aires to
New York. I don't remember the plane type but I wouldn't be in a hurry to try it again. On the
American carriers I have flown the cabin staff are always very authoritarian and begrudging. The
seats were OK (though Delta's are better) and the catering average. The DVD players provided in
Business are very cumbersome when a PTV would be more practical. Depends how hassle-free you want
your trip, but if your priority is to get from A to B in minimum time I'd say go ahead.
