Horrific - no communications, delays, delays - up to 10 hours just waiting with no information
and no idea if you ever going to get home or get there. For Business people don't even try it
- not worth it. Staff incapable, untrained to the very top!

Living in Johannesburg and covering southern Africa, always fly South African Airways but the
relatively “cheap” fares advertised by Zambezi Airlines on the Johannesburg sector were
attractive enough to entice me to switch from SAA for my most recent trip to Lusaka. Bad
move! Wish I had paid more and stayed with SAA. JNB-LUN was scheduled to depart at 1800 but
departed at 2015. On arrival in Lusaka at 2210 found one of my bags missing. Since only my
bag was missing, asked ground staff to check the aircraft luggage hold again. The request
was brushed off since they were in a hurry to get home. Reported missing bag to “lost and
found” who then directed me to Zambezi airlines office within airport. The lady on duty
showed little interest in my predicament and her only defencse was “these things happen”,
“come back tomorrow morning and your bag may be here”. An excellent example of poor training
in handling real issues that affect a customer. At 3am received SMS informing me that bag had
been “found” and can be collected in the morning. As I thought, the bag was not unloaded from
the aircraft in Lusaka, went to Lubumbashi and returned at 2amin the morning. No compensation
for additional costs incurred in making a trip to the airport to collect the bag early next
morning. Return flight was scheduled to depart at 19:45 but was delayed by an hour for
operational reasons. Although the airline knew of the imminent delay no attempt was made to
inform passengers or apologise for the delay when checking in. All in all a very poor
product. Website and staff portray a slick and friendly image but poorly trained and
incompetent with little ability / authority to address real issues. Plane is somewhat old
with okay comfort in economy class but no entertainment system. Got the feeling that there
are not enough planes to support their route schedules and hence a "bus – company" type
operational image is portrayed. Safety and security is questionable and sloppy handling all
around.
