Vueling Airlines review by R Adriansyah

AD-BCN return. What a great little airline! Reservation through web was very easy, and you can even choose your own seat at the time of booking. FA's were young but very professional and they all have a can-do attitude. Good choice of F&B sold on board. However the only thing that kept me from giving this airline the 5 star it deserves is the fact that my flight were the only ones that were delayed from several of the same route they have on those particular days - on both legs!.

MAD-BCN, CDG-MAD. Friendly staff, quick check-in, new aircraft with nice leather seats, lots of room - seat pitch seems better than most N. American airlines.

Staff professional and energetic. Venice to CDG Paris and from CDG to Madrid. No delays. Low cost, excellent service. We are from USA, and wish that many airlines here would provide the excellent service that Vueling gives to their clients for the low price.

I was very impressed with the standard of service on this airline. Online booking was through a simple, clear website which gave the opportunity to choose an emergency exit seat for a supplement of €12. This was very reassuring. I hate fighting in a scrum on other low cost airlines (i.e. Easyjet, Ryanair) to ensure I don't have to fly Houdini style to my destination. Airport plans on the confirmation are also a helpful touch (take note Flybe). Check-in at FCO couldn't have been easier. Security queues at FCO are another matter though, but that's the airport's fault, not the airline's. The aircraft was spotlessly clean and crew polite and efficient. The only thing I didn't like was a fuel supplement being added to the fare. This should be part of the fare and not a supplement - as I have said before, why not a supplement to pay for the captain's new uniform? I hope this airline will thrive, as I feel this is the best low cost airline I have experienced to date.

Amsterdam-Madrid return. Only 80 euro. OK it was a special fare, but the normal price is about 130 euro and is also very reasonable. I did not know the airline. I first had a look on this site of it was not a fake airline because i never heared from Vueling and they do not advertise. Check in was very smoothly. The plane was a new airbus 320 with leather seats. The crew was very friendly. Much better than the Iberia experience. There were a lot of magazines in the cabin. Also some inflight entertainment. Leg space was OK for a 2.30 hour flight and i am 1.85 m. I had nothing to complain of. And this rock bottom price!

I've made two return flights with Vueling between Milan and Valencia. I was impressed by the fares, online booking service (you can even choose your seat), new aircraft and efficiency. Free newspapers are a nice touch. The first time I flew with them they boarded passengers on the wrong plane (to Paris instead of Milan) on the return flight, but fortunately realized before takeoff! No other hitches, and plane arrived slightly ahead of time on both legs. The other time, I booked four months in advance and they changed my flight times - in both directions - twice during this period. As the second change was a drastic one, about 12 hrs later on both the outward and homeward legs, I had to rebook my car rental (at a higher rate), and despite originally refusing to refund me the difference, when I spoke to their head office in Barcelona, they immediately paid it. I was impressed by the courteous customer service once I managed to get through to the right person. Again, my flights in both directions arrived slightly ahead of schedule. I'll certainly be flying with them again.

MXP-BCN return. Check-in efficient though I was stung 56euro for overweight luggage; grateful I didn't get hit both ways! Boarding orderly. Flights were professional and comfortable. Great value.

MAD-LIS. Paid extra to go on first row, so leg room was excellent. The flight was good in every respect. Would definitely fly them again.

FCO-MAD-FCO. Fast check in at FCO, but one hour delay because of bad weather which caused the takeoff to be horrible. Very smooth flight on a brand new A320 though, with professional, polite and good looking flight assistants (we'll meet two of them on the return flight too) and TV screens. They also offered a candy before landing, and our baggage has been delivered in a few minutes. The check in at MAD was very slow because there were only 4 desks open for 3 flights. Also this time an hour of delay as the aircraft experienced a congestion in Mallorca, but the flight was excellent overal. Arrival at dusk with a beautiful sunset and a very soft landing. A very good experience despite the delays on both legs, which won't prevent me choosing Vueling again.

Amsterdam to Barcelona (about 73 euro one week before the flight). I checked in online which worked perfect. I had only hand luggage and therefore at Amsterdam a direct walk to security. The incoming plane from Valencia had a delay and therefore a delay of 10 minutes was announced. Boarding was organized with separation in rows. Seat was fine (13A) with a good pitch, but I ordered the XL seat for 12 euros. Flight departed about half an hour late. Safety announced difficult to understand because the attendant spoke English in a Spanish way. Not any announced from the cockpit during the flight, which was poor. Snacks and drinks reasonable priced, but they run out of sandwiches when they arrived at my seat. A little sweet to avoid ear problems shortly before landing was nice. Attendants look nice and are generally polite. Arrival at BCN only 20 minutes late. Conclusion: good flight, delay and lack of information from cockpit negative. I like the fresh approach and branding of Vueling.

Rome Fiumicino to Paris Charles deGaulle. New Airbus 320 aircraft, nice leather seats with adequate legroom, fairly priced on board drinks and snacks, friendly, competent flight attendants who can speak multiple languages. The check-in procedure at Rome Fiumicino was chaotic! On arrival at the airport 3 hours early, we checked the video monitors that directed us to the designated counter. There were 3 Vueling counters with long lines formed. The video signboards above each check-in counter listed the appropriate flight. The flight taking off before ours was for Seville. Others were there to go to Barcelona. We discovered that the cues were not moving and upon closer examination, found that the cues disintegrated about 5 meters from the check-in counters! Imagine the cacophony of Spanish, French, Italian and English languages coming from some very tense and worried travellers, trying to get themselves and their luggage checked in. Check-in for Paris changed 3 times during the 2 hours it took me to get to the counter. Imagine a line-up of people moving themselves and their luggage past two other cues in a very congested area, and having to do it again and again. Vuelling should charge an extra Euro on their very reasonable prices and ensure that in addition to the check-in counter attendants, they employ a ground agent who organizes the cues and ensures order at check-in.

Venice to Barcelona - Found this airline online after doing much research before our trip to Europe. It was fantastic! My family (husband and 3 teens) flew from Venice to Barcelona last week and we encountered the most friendly and helpful flight attendants. The planes were new and comfortable and we departed and arrived on time! It was perfect all around. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a low cost, efficient, friendly airline.

Sorry I am a French guy and my English is a little poor. I´ve discovered Vueling Airlines last week. They fly from Paris Roissy airport to Italy. I just want to say that if we call that a low cost company; regular ones should feel ashamed. Planes are totally new, crew is very friendly and Food is perfect and not expensive at all. I have never seen that! Ticket price is very low, they offer newspapers for free; I bought my Coke for 1 Euro, the Spanish sandwich with serrano is simply delicious. It is not expensive at all. In French we say "Felicitation, et bonne route".

Great airline, online check in, go prices, friendly and polite staff, great service, very comfortable seats lots of leg room. A joy to fly with - I went Malaga to Barcelona. Spanair lost a customer.

Granada to Barcelona. I I was surprised when I noticed that the boarding passes were hand-written, yet both check-in agents spoke perfect English and were profesional. The boarding was really quick, well announced and ordered, I guess that's one of the advantages of flying from a small airport (very nice). We took off on time, as usual, and the trip was pleasant, as usual. Nice crew, friendly and educated. To sum up: yet the small legroom of the seats, I love this airline, nothing to do with Ryanair.

Just return from a roundtrip Amsterdam-Valencia with Vueling. The Airbus departed and arrived on time. Friendly crew. The only downhill is the legroom which can be quite uncomfortable for people taller than 6 feet

Amsterdam-Madrid return - round ticket 140 euro. Excellent service, motivated, hard working young crew (big difference to Iberia). Sandwiches, soft drinks, coffee, tea, at very reasonable prices. Free newspaper as well a sweet few minutes before landing. Both flights on time. I would recommend Vueling.

24 March 2007

AMS-BCN. Despite late arrival of the aircraft at AMS, the turn-around was quick and we took of only 15 mins late. Cabin interior surprised me, leather seats, good pitch, inflight-entertainment - better than many legacy carriers. Cabin crew was not the most attractive by the looks but very friendly, efficient and professional. Landing at BCN was on-time and luggage delivered shortly after arrival. I really had a nice flight with Vueling and I would choose them again without doubt.

20 March 2007

MAD-MXP. I chose Vueling over Easyjet in order to arrive earlier in Milan on a Sunday night after a weekend in Spain. Apart from a 30 mins delay - apparently due to late incoming aircraft in MAD - everything on this airline really delights me. Nice, new A320 aircraft with leather seats and plenty of legroom, a young but professional staff and very fair prices on catering on board. I paid €6,50 for a chicken sandwich, a coke and a cup of coffee. "Friends" and "Simpsons" shown during the flight as well and a little candy prior to land in Milan. What else can you ask for when the fare was €35?

Vueling Airlines review by Mikhael Enemark

20 March 2007

Have had a lot of experience on European Low-cost airlines but Vueling is above the rest. I flew with them in February from Madrid to Milan and although there was a 45 minutes delay, regular announcements were made to keep passengers updated on departure status. New aircraft, friendly cabin-crew and comfortable interior. Pilot made an effort to keep to catch our scheduled arrival time. Like Easyjet, they fly to major airports unlike the nonsense Ryanair does.

9 March 2007

BCN-MAD-BCN return. In the outgoing leg the aircraft was showing signs of age and they didn't use the IFE. Their cabin baggage policy is of 10 kg, so people carry loads of cabin baggage making the use of overhead bins complicated in full load flights. Despite this, service excellent as usual and on time. The return leg in a brand new aircraft, with a fantastic and polite crew. IFE for a 50' flight and on time. In conclusion, excellent flights, good aircraft but very tight pitch - but what else for 45 Eur return?

Vueling Airlines review by Richard Connett

26 February 2007

My partner and I flew Vueling from Madrid to Rome recently. The only good thing about this airline was the price. On boarding, as it was winter, everyone had a thick coat and cabin baggage. All the overhead lockers were full and there was simply no where to put our cabin baggage. The cabin crew stood at the front of the plane, chatted and laughed with each other and offered no assistance. I found an overhead locker which had some space available, but the cabin crew had their baggage in this particular locker, so the woman crew member screamed at me in Spanish not to put my stuff in that locker and then, offered no assistance. The legroom was so cramped, when the person in front of me who had a bulkhead seat and reasonable room anyway, reclined his seat fully and nearly decapitated my knees from my body. This was the most uncomfortable flight I have been on. For an airline who in their advertising glossies on the plane, claim to be better than the rest, I was disappointed.

26 January 2007

I frequently fly Vueling Paris to Madrid and back for several reasons. Fare prices far lower than other airlines on that route, Iberia, Air France, Air Europa (except on a few occasions where AE was cheaper) and even Easyjet, another LCC, which only has a mid afternoon flight on the route, not convenient for people who work during the day. Scheduling (last Paris to Madrid flight departing from CDG at 21.40), reliability, on time performance, seat allocation when booking through Internet and cabin crew attention (incomparably better than other airlines on the route!). Swift check in with Vueling when long queues for Iberia passengers in Madrid Terminal 4. Against - not much, apart from seat pitch (charter configuration – 180 seats - on their A320 aircraft fleet but you can’t be too demanding when you pay such an affordable fare!) and lack of easy transportation when arriving in Madrid terminal 4 at 24.00 hours, but this should be much improved from next May when the extension of the metro line serving the airport to terminal 4 becomes operational. Great low cost airline! I have experienced delays with Vueling 4 times out of 20+ flights, only once of their own making (very late departure of the aircraft due to a technical problem), once weather (snow last year: but Vueling flight departed, late but safely after deicing, when all Air France flights on the route were cancelled!) and twice recently due to Paris Airports unreliable services but airline not at fault.

26 January 2007

Madrid-AMS. Plane was pretty quiet but service was impeccable. Friendly, polite, interested. Arrived 15 mins early. I would guess that on a full flight the seats would be a bit tight for space - but other than that a truly excellent airline, by far the best low cost carrier I have been with.

20 December 2006

Lisbon - Madrid route. Finally an alternative to the Iberia / Tap cartel and their pricing (so much for EU regulating these obvious abusive commercial practices). However I feel their only one daily flight timetable lets them down. It caters to the Spanish business traveller (Madrid-Lisbon route schedule is okay) but regretfully forgets to give the Lisbon business traveller a real option. Arriving in Madrid just before 18.00pm and having to leave at 10.00am not only involves a hotel overnight stay but offers little time for any business meeting. Might as well take the Lusitania Hotel train option.

I've taken Vueling flights several times between Rome and Barcelona /Madrid. Would rate Vueling very high on all accounts. And this is a budget airline ! Their web site too is just what it should be. The fare you see is what you get, taxes and everything else included. Compare it to Ryanair or others and you will see what I mean.

27 October 2006

Lisbon-Barcelona - right on schedule. Everything was top class : efficient check-in personnel, clean airplane with leather seats, good cabin crew. If this is a no-frills "low cost" airline, I do not want any better. I wish Vueling continued success and hope it will inspire the competing airlines in Spain and Europe to improve their service and lower their fares. Until then, I will fly Vueling again - with pleasure

22 September 2006

Malaga - Barcelona return. Excellent is the only word to describe this airline. I am a very nervous passenger but the cabin crew were fabulous as they were so reassuring. The ground staff were helpful and courteous and took time to explain, in very good English, the directions to the departure gates etc. The plane was spotless, the leather seats were very comfortable and the inflight programmes were an added bonus which my kids greatly enjoyed. I would definitely use this airline again, it's just a pity they are not flying into Belfast yet, but here's hoping.

6 September 2006

Barcelona to Santiago de Compostela. The airplane was very new, cabin crew kind, inflight entertainment with TV good and prices of products on board acceptable. Seats were confortable. On the return they also gave press for free. After flying with them I received a discount of 10 euros if I booked another flight during a period of 40 days and a consumer survey. I strongly recomend that airline because even is a low-cost, it's service is better than other Spanish companies such as Iberia

22 August 2006

Madrid - Paris. This is a brilliant airline! We booked on-line from New Zealand on their English language website, we got a confirming email by return, and a reminder email the day before our flight - even full price airlines don't do that! Hard to believe they're a low-cost company, certainly their customer service is just right - why isn't this the norm? Our son was flying Madrid-London with BA at the same time. We checked in in no more than 5 minutes, it took him more than 40. We had a very pleasant flight, everything was on time. The seat spacing is tight, but for the price and the flight length, it's OK. We also booked a car rental in France through their website, and that worked brilliantly as well. These guys are good!

Incredible great flight Barcelona-Rome Fiumicino and back. Best experience of low cost airlines so far. Friendly crew, good service, clean spaces. Assigned seats, main airports, no issues. Definitely worth the trouble of the self-service deal.

18 June 2006

Barcelona to Rome for only 20 euros (can get it for 10 euros if I booked slightly later because they had offers). Able to choose your own seats when booking. Friendly and wonderful crew. Offers Spanish newspapers. Cheap onboard food and drinks (cheaper than McDonalds). Offers inflight entertainment with short videos and music. Headsets sold for only 1,50 euros and yours to keep. Came around with sweets before landing. Pop music was broadcast throughout the flight. They even had arrival videos! Overall, a flight with a very fun atmosphere. Definitely a hidden gem in the world of LCCs.

10 June 2006

Clean, new 320's, polite cabin crew, IFE, good prices and easy booking with seat reservation. If you fly economy there is no beating Vueling, (other than regionals like Air Nostrum, Portugalia etc who are in a class of their own).

Vueling Airlines review by A Lund

10 June 2006

Bilbao - Barcelona. Service on board friendly - online seat selection is a bonus. Before landing crew came around and offered sweets to suck on to help with the change in air pressure - a nice touch that not many airlines seem to do these days. Arrived on time. Exceptional price too - 20 euros!

Vueling Airlines review by Andrea Monelli

1 June 2006

Milan to Barcelona and back. Both flights were uneventful and pleasant. He crew is helpful and nice. The seats are clean (almost) as the rest of the aircraft. I would certainly reconsider Vueling as my choice for another trip.

Vueling Airlines review by Edwin Gocuan

9 May 2006

LIS-MAD. Vueling low prices certainly are welcome news and take down the ridiculous and exhorbitant prices of Iberia and TAP who have been monopolizing these routes. Easy to use website with good prices for the flights. Vueling takes a notch higher by offering on line seat selection! Its 10 kg handluggage allowance is adequate than the most common 7kg of most LCCs. Flights were on time in nice comfy leather seats. Their small drawback is their inflight shopping for food and souvenirs are still limited. Courteous staff and flight crew and Vueling lands at major airports too! Hope they increase their frequencies and expand their route networks. We are impress with their service that our group also took their MAD-AMS flight on May 1. Definitely worth recommending.

Vueling Airlines review by Eduardo Gómez

28 April 2006

BCN-AMS return. Both legs in A320-200. Not full flights. Free newspapers as you get onboard. Nice light-grey leather seats but with a pretty tight pitch. Catering onboard is to be paid - prices were quite affordable. Vueling has now started to use the in-flight video screens, where they play two Friends episodes and some information about Vueling's destination cities. The headsets were to be paid on request and cost 2 Eur. Punctuality in both legs was very good, strange to be seen in Spanish carriers. Finally, the price of the ticket: 80 Eur. It isn't my first flight with them, and I won't hesitate in flying Vueling again!
