Gatwick to Tenerife return. Both flights on time, food available to buy on board at a
reasonable price. Didn't find cabin conditions different to non budget airlines flown before
and cabin crew friendly and helpful. £74 return, great value for money!

At the last minute at gatwick the information board changed our destination from Sharm to
Hurgada - when we enquired at information desk we were told it must be a mistake. Flight by
was 1 hour late when door to plane was shut and were then told we were flying to Hurgada not
Sharm as a Viking plane at Hurgada needed a part - at Hurgada they asked us to leave the plane
and were put in a holding lounge for 3 hours while our plane was given to people who had been
waiting for a flight for 13 hours! After 3 hours with no food or drink (unless you were happy
to pay obscene prices) put on the plane they had fixed with the part and told the good news we
would land in Sharm after 45minutes but the bad news was we were going to circle Hurgad for 1
hour to get rid of extra fuel they had loaded. I know the other flight had waited 13 hours and
were happy to have our plane but in doing so they upset 2 whole flights.

Manchester to Tenerife return. Check in quick and boarding was fine. They were quite strict
with excess baggage so if you think you are going to be over I would recommend booking extra
online and paying the cheaper rate of £3 per kilo as opposed to £10! We were only 3kgs over as
we had a baby travelling, but we had to pay. Legroom is a little cramped and there isnt any
entertainment but I consider them to be a cheaper airline so wasn't expecting any. Staff were
polite and helpful and came round twice during the flight offering food and drinks, and for
duty free. The return flight was equally smooth.

Manchester to Tenerife. Delayed for 1hr 30 mins with confusing information. The aircraft was
an aged MD80 in a poor state, no inflight entertainment and very poor leg room. The inflight
information was minimal and the crew spoke very poor english. The cabin crew's attitude
bordered on being rude. Will not travel with airline again!

On the 5th our flight from Tenerife back to Manchester was delayed 24hrs, in the meantime
other airlines supplied their passengers with food and drink tokens after every 4 hours
delayed and were put up for the night in a hotel after 12 hours of being delayed. We received
nothing, there were no reps situated in the airport to give feedback to customers. As baggage
was checked in, there were customers short of medication and babies short of bottles .Many
customers had no money left and were forced to sleep in the airport. Once on the plane we were
made to sit there for a further 2 hours and all we received was 1 small glass of water - they
even had the cheek to charge for food. Our journey from Tenerife to Barrow in Furness took 30
hours, we were treated like animals, left hungry and dehydrated. I strongly urge customers to
boycott Viking Airline.

Sharm el Sheikh to Gatwick December 4. At Gatwick on our return it took two hours for our
luggage to arrive on the carousel - at 00-40. All arriving Viking and Monarch passengers were
subject to the same delays. Viking's ground handling agents (who also work for Monarch)
appeared to have only one team of loaders working, dashing from one arriving flight to the
next. Information almost non-existent. Absolutely disgraceful. According to one fellow
passenger the same had happened the previous week, when passengers had to wait for four hours
for their luggage. Viking - Never again!

Egypt to Gatwick. We took off about 15 minutes late which wasn't too much of a issue, however
once in the air we were told we were flying into strong headwinds and the flight would be 6
hours long. Again you can't help the wind. However, you can help a mumbling captain, some of
the air hostesses looked like they were in a mood, one of them was chewing gum and was rolling
it around in her teeth. The food was very limited and poor quality, the bacon sandwiches ran
out very quickly. We were served food and drinks twice but both times the rubbish was left
with us for ages. We had to ask for it to be taken away several times and they finally got
the message. The crew seemed to do what they had to do and then sit at the back of the plane
with the curtain drawn talking. Getting off the plane was delayed as the stairs could not be
fitted to the plane door. Baggage collection once inside the terminal was ridiculous. We had
to wait 75 minutes for our luggage to appear on the conveyor belt. We were not given any
information as to the cause of the delay, no announcements were made despite going to the Viking desk.

Manchester - Gran Canaria for new year. 7 hour delays going and return - 2 days wasted, no
explanations. Full price flight, not budget! Rude staff, filthy planes, no water on return
flight - even to wash hands. Lots of children on aircraft. Old planes. No entertainment.

Used Viking for Tenerife Christmas Day. Excellent service. No frills, ie no entertainment but
it was early flight so everyone was asleep. More legroom than usual. On time departing and
returning.

Gatwick to Hurghada return. Positives - plane took off on time both flights. Negatives -
filthy plane, moody staff, service took ages and was over priced rubbish. Worst thing was that
for a 6 hour flight there was no inflight entertainment. I had called Viking and checked to
see if there would be any entertainment - was told yes, that as it was a long flight there
would be 2 movies. The plane looked old, with masking tape used to fix things, broken
seats/armrests. I would recommend possibly for a short flight if cheap but only if nothing else available.

Plus point, booked extra luggage in advance at only £1.50 per kilo. Negative points, we
boarded this ancient 737 at 1:30 pm and informed that due to the dreadful weather we only had
a 50/50 chance of takeoff. After 4hours of sitting on the aircraft we were told that the crew
were out of hours. After 5 hours we gained a new crew and took off. We landed at Bristol to
pick up new passengers and again informed the new crew were out of hours and we would have to
fly to Gatwick to pick up a new crew ! Again due to the snow conditions we were sat on the
runway for another 2 hours! Landed at Gatwick, gained another new crew only to be informed
that it would be a considerable wait before we could refuel. So the captain, after 2 hours of
waiting arranged for buses to take us of the plane so we could be fed. So after another 2
hours the buses turn up along with the refuelling lorry - captain cancelled the buses and then
another hours wait to de-ice the plane. When airborne again we were offered food but only if
we paid for it! We eventually landed in Tenerife after being sat on the aircraft for 16
hours! Viking is disorganised and has no customer service or consideration. The flight back
was delayed 5 hours due to Spanish air traffic control issues but there was no Viking staff at
the airport to give us any information. I would advise not to fly with this airline, they
cannot be blamed for the terrible weather conditions but with 2 changes of crew and 16 hours
of no food they are incompetent.

Returned yesterday from Gran Canaria. Flight delayed hour and half outbound due to weather
conditions. Delayed 45 mins on return, explanation given. After reading reviews before we
travelled, we expected delays so no problem with the amount of time we were delayed. Only 3
cabin crew but polite and efficient, just took time to serve everybody but this wasn't a
problem. Aircraft clean and leg room was fine, not less than most major airlines, and better
than some we have travelled on. Overall, perfectly happy with the flight and would certainly
consider using them again.

Return Manchester to Tenerife in early December. Paid no frills prices and got a good 'no
frills experience. Staff friendly and helpful. Decent legroom. Took our own sandwiches etc. as
usual. Drinks no dearer than airport or other similar flights. Great flight out but 40 mins
delay coming back due to our plane having been late leaving Manchester because of freezing fog
(same for many other flights to northern UK that day). Diverted to Liverpool on arrival back
home because of fog at Manchester. We were lucky: our bags came off one of the first so we got
straight on the front coach which left for Manchester airport, so no complaints about
efficiency of transfer.

Canadian Sunwings aircraft Manchester to Sharm el Sheikh return. Delayed by one hour at
Manchester. Although second in the queue to check in, allocated the seats at the rear of the
plane, right by the toilets. It took nearly two hours to get some food and by that point the
selection was very poor. Return flight initially delayed by 45 mins, then we where herded out
to the plane to wait a further 2 hours. During this time we received one lukewarm glass of
water - while we waited the pilot kept us informed a little bit. It seems the flight plan for
our flight had not been filed/lost. The crew seemed more interested in selling duty free than
actually doing their jobs.

Manchester to Kalamarta, 12.5 hrs delay, return flight on time. Initial delay was due to fog,
with incoming flight diverted, crew then went over time, and when the scheduled plane arrived
(6hrs late) it wasn't used but kept on the ground for a different flight. Information drip fed
to us (via Manchester staff - Viking staff had vanished) although it appeared later Viking had
made the decision to delay us by 12+ hours fairly quickly. I would say Viking are cutting cost
very close to the minimum, if nothing goes wrong they are fine but they have no contingency
for any minor problem, nor any intention of minimizing the impact on (or communicating to)
their customers. They are cheap (about 1/3rd of Thomson for this journey) - but don't use them
if the risk of losing days of holiday is important to you.

Gatwick to Sharm El Sheikh return. The crew was pleasant, seats a bit cramped but otherwise it
was excellent value for money.
