Gatwick - Samos. Flights a little delayed, but to be expected on a charter airline during the
summer. Meals not brilliant. Cabin crew very attentive. The aircraft was clean and modern but
a little annoying that we had to listen to every announcement in English and French.

Manchester to Kos with Viking. My overall view of this airline echoes the comments of other
passengers - truly awful. Paid extra to be sat together only to be told at check in that we
would be given two aisle seats which were across from each other and therefore this
constituted sitting together. Due to leave at 5am only to be told once on the plane that Kos
airport were not accepting anymore than 4 flights per hour and that we had missed our slot
(despite being the first flight that day). We therefore had to sit on the plane on the tarmac
for an hour and a half before leaving. No drinks or food offered during this time. When we
eventually left, service was appalling - after an hour the crew had only served 6 rows of
passengers. Food limited but not really over priced. No entertainment and only 2 toilets for
the whole plane. On return journey only one check in desk was open for 180 passengers,
therefore queues horrific and slow moving. Delayed departure due to late incoming flight from
UK. Then rushed onto the aircraft and told to hurry up as they did not want to miss the
departure slot. We were then left to sit on the tarmac again waiting for clearance for a
further half an hour. Arrived home an hour and a half late. Will avoid this airline like the
plague in future - would rather stick pins in both eyes than fly with them again.

Just three words - do not use. I just had to book my brother and his wife and
two infants onto a Ryanair flight to get them back home. Return Viking flight
due to leave Las Palmas Gran Canaria at 1210hrs, when the arrived at the airport
at 9.30am there was no Viking Check- in Desk and when then went to the BAA
terminal, they were told there was no Viking flight leaving on that day. The
booking confirmation return flight was listed as flight no. VIK K0000, which is
itself is a little suspicious. Couldn't get through to Viking, phoned Glasgow
Airport and then BAA Travel Service who was the booking agent and they could not
contact them either, stating maybe it was because it was a Saturday. They
checked system, kept me hanging on for half an hour, then they said to go ahead
and book an alternative flight. Only problem was the alternative one-way flight
was 1.5 times the cost of the return flights from Viking. Viking Airlines should
not be in business - it is evident from the return flight number that they did
not have a flight arranged for the return leg. Please check your tickets for the
return flight number if you have already booked!

Returned finally yesterday from Skiathos. 2 weeks ago our 6am flight from
Manchester was delayed indefinitely due to crack in door. Our rep got us on a
Monarch flight 4 hrs later. Others had a 20 hour delay! On return, Manchester
flight cancelled (no reason given). Put on flight to Bristol then coach back to
Manchester Airport. 3 hours before given a drink or bite to eat on flight. Worst
flight in an old XL plane we have ever been on. Viking, you should be ashamed of
yourselves.

Glasgow to Tenerife and back. Never heard of Viking before and they didn't do
much to increase my confidence. No meals available, just expensive snacks. We
had a long delay going out - what annoyed us were different stories about the
reason for the delay, it was either strikes, early airport closures or
maintenance work. We had all three given separately as reasons. Staff were
strange - a bit like people that failed to get jobs with other airlines. Whilst
it did not affect our journey, it is a bit weird that they insist (as they are
Canadian owned) on doing the safety talk in French.

Just returned from Corfu, delayed 4 hours outbound, 1.5 hours inbound no real
attempt to apologise to travellers or explanation given. No inflight
entertainment, nothing for kids, staff need a lesson in customer care.

Edinburgh to Rhodes via Belfast. I thought I was flying with Monarch but
received new flight times with Viking. Turned up on time to find flight delayed
and discovered for the first time that this was not a straight flight to Rhodes
but via Belfast. After a last minute change of departure gate sat down on the
plane amoung a group of tired and unhappy Irish passengers who had been sitting
on the runway waiting for us for the last hour. Told to sit in any seat until
Belfast where we would move to the seats on our tickets. Further 45 minute delay
waiting for paperwork to take off at Belfast. Arrived in Rhodes 6.5 hours later.
No inflight entertainment and all taped announcements made in English and
French? Return delayed at Rhodes no explanation, obviously waiting for the late
plane from Belfast. One hour late we make a very fast boarding. Same crew as the
week before. Captain explains we will be leaving in 20 minutes once we have
clearance. 30 minutes later we have missed our departure time and the next one
will be in 1 hour 40 minutes. Touched down in Edinburgh 1.5hrs late then had to
wait for another hour for luggage to appear, something to do with baggage not
being properly packed at Rhodes. The most irritating thing about this sorry tale
of incompetence is that it is a regular occurrence. I will make a point of
avoiding this airline in the future and feel sorry for the staff who have to
work for such an incompetent outfit.

Manchester to Tenerife, cabin staff helpful - although no meals, could buy
snacks, drinks etc, slightly expensive and long time to wait after ordering but
hot which was good. Check-in on return not open due to wrong time on return leg
information.

Both outward and inward flights were on time and no problem with the plane -
just the staff - particularly on the outward journey. At Gatwick we were told we
would be going to Skiathos via Lemnos but we went straight to Skiathos. The in
flight announcements said we were going to Zianthos (another part of Greece).
Confused so we asked the hostess where were we going to and she said she didn't
know! Most of the announcements were very poor and cut short mid sentence! Some
vegetarians near to us asked for a veggie breakfast and were told there weren't
any so 'just take the bacon out of your breakfast meal'! Our holiday package
include the meals but when we asked for tea/coffee on the inward journey
(despite being given milk and sugar) were told there wouldn't be any on this
flight! Through choice I would not opt for this airline. They need to smarten up
their act if they are to survive!

Due to fly to Paphos 4th July from Glasgow - delayed 23hrs as they gave our
plane to go to another destination, due to their aircraft having technical
difficulties. On return, we were delayed again for 2.5 hours - we lost a whole
day and were only going for 1 week. Never again.

Gatwick to Heraklion. Both flights on time, we had the Canadian leased aircraft
which was clean, leather seats and loads of leg room. Cabin crew friendly and
efficient. From comments on here it seems that if they are good they are very
good but if they are bad they are very bad - no middle ground.

Manchester to Heraklion. Got a letter a week before saying flights had changed
to be about 7 hours earlier which is good I suppose - reason for this was that
flight was going via Belfast which made a 6.5 hour round trip - and we weren't
even told! Tape holding bits of the plastic panels on the inside of the plane,
it was so bad it was literally laughable. Cabin crew could hardly speak English
and weren't very helpful.

Delayed due to technical fault by 4.5hrs. Twenty mins after takeoff problem with front cabin
door had to return to Edinburgh airport and circle for 1 hour to dump fuel then informed no
one available to fix door need to fly to Glasgow. Delayed there for a further 6.5hrs
eventually got an aircraft that was going to Paphos - passengers for this flight were told
there was a technical problem with the aircraft were instructed to come back next day. After
they had left the departure lounge, we were told we would be boarding the aircraft for our
flight to Italy.
