Don't even think about booking a Viking Flight. Our flight to Zante has just been cancelled for operational reasons! Travel Republik not very helpful with alternative flights looks like this is going to cost us.

Manchester to Lanzarote booked with Kiss. Times changed twice before the departure. Originally booked with this airline due to wanting earlier flight but then as the times had changed this was to no avail. Both journeys were delayed and on the return flight flew via Portugal due to having to re-fuel. No explanation was given and everyone on the flight was surprised at the flight should have only been 4 hours - but took 5 hours and 30 minutes with no entertainment. Plane a very old MD-80 and basic. Staff were nice but could not speak English - to obtain a drink of lemonade I had to point to this in their brochure.

Gatwick - Hurghada return. Pre booked additional legroom seats which were spacious but did not recline. Both flights on time and good FA's. Drink prices reasonable. No entertainment unless you rent PSP which was not an attraction for me. Altogether a better experience than other charter flights to Egypt in the past - and the bonus of a 25kg allowance for divers.

On arriving at the airport, I was actually surprised the airline was still in business as I had been unable to contact them for two weeks, outward flight to Tenerife, aircraft was chartered from Sunwing, and was very comfortable. FAs pleasant and attentive, no problem with getting drinks. Return on time, again excellent service onboard.

Booked to Feurteventura for a family holiday with Viking via Kiss flights and Alpharooms. We had our flight times changed twice before we travelled and ended up with really poor flight times against the more expensive ones we booked. They did offer a refund less admin fees but I couldn't find alternative flights. 2 hours late travelling out, 4.5 hours late coming home where they announced our departure time of 3hrs 55mins after the due time to avoid giving out meal vouchers due at 4 hours. Unhappy staff on board serving very expensive and poor quality food.

Gatwick-Samos return. Flights on time, we were informed of minor air traffic delays, a free English breakfast on the way out, and hot lunch on the way back (free tea and coffee but you had to pay for other drinks). All the cabin crew were friendly. The only explanation I can suggest for the widely published horror stories about Viking is that they are obliged by certain tour operators to offer a full service.

6 hour delay on outbound flight from Edinburgh to Corfu. We were under the impression we had booked a direct flight but were told when we arrived at the airport it was going via Gatwick then it wasn't - it was now going via Belfast and when it left 6 hours later we were informed it was a direct flight again. On the way back we checked into the airport at 1830hrs for flight due to leave at 2140, we were informed at 2130 that the flight was delayed until 2230 and then at 2230 that the flight was delayed until 0530 at 0600 - we boarded our flight and almost an hour into our flight we were told we were flying to Gatwick not Manchester. Complete lack of communication and honesty from Viking Airlines throughout. We were travelling with a young child as were many of the passengers. It was obvious once we spoke to people that the flight was never intended to return to Manchester. We will never fly with this airline again. Our relaxing holiday was ruined by the stress of delays.

Skiathos to Bristol. 2nd year running had to pay again to return home. Told by CAA they were getting us home after collapse of Gold trail with Viking. At check in a large number of us were told had to pay again in cash only. Today learnt that Viking had already been paid by the CAA to get us home. Never again with Viking Airlines, last year plane failed to come.

Absolutely disgusting. We were told it would be a direct flight to Crete and weren't aware it wasn't until we stopped at Bristol. It got worse on the flight back. Our transfer informed the day prior that our flight no longer existed so transfers couldn't be provided. When we called Viking they informed us that our flights had been brought forward causing us to miss a day. We also asked if the flight was direct back to East Midlands which they had confirmed. However at the airport discovered we were stopping in Bristol. At Bristol we had to go through security checks and identify our luggage which was out on the tarmac. I would never recommend this airline.

Rhodes-Manchester. Check in at Manchester no queue, left almost on time. Rhodes comming back again no queue to check in and left almost on schedule. Staff we dealt with were well presented and good at their jobs.

If I never fly this airline again, it will be too soon. A 4.5 hour delay from Gatwick flying to Rhodes, during which we were told lie after lie. But finally we did leave, arriving four hours late at Rhodes, very galling for those who had paid forty pounds extra to get the extra half day there. Our flight home the following week was no better, due to depart at 0125, we finally left Rhodes at 0530 in the morning - after little or no information, and less in the way of apologies. Do not fly this airline if you want to come home with happy memories.

MAN-PFO. Flight delayed 15 Hours, usual poor communication but main problem was when we finally boarded the aircraft at 0615 mon (instead of 1530 sun) we were greeted by crew swearing amongst themselves about how this was the 3rd time they had been called out and how the weekend had been trashed. This was in much more colourful language however. When the couple in front of us boarded the aircraft, they asked what seats they were in, to be told by the crew "it starts at row one and goes up the further you walk, okay" This set the tone for the rest of the flight. No food by the time the trolley got to our row (row 8), no entertainment, except the crew complaining about how "vile" the passengers were. I have worked in the travel industry for 15 years, and know how difficult the general public can be, but in this case Viking Airlines is the lowest of all.

My family were supposed to fly back from Skiathos to Manchester on Friday. The Manchester flight due to depart at 1255pm was delayed and we were put on the Viking flight to Bristol with 67 other Manchester passengers. There were no reps or information available in Skiathos. The FAs were evasive and had no information about why the flight was cancelled. At Bristol we were promised a letter of explanation and claim form at Manchester - but there was no-one there. The staff were surly and unhelpful. The plane was old and uncomfortable. It took 2 hours and 30 minutes to get a drink on the flight.
