Manchester - Chania (Crete) return. Check-in efficient and flight departed on time. The
737-800 was clean and comfortable. The crew were friendly and helpful. Hot/ cold drinks and
food available to purchase and were a good price. Arrival in Chania on time and the baggage
was prompt. Return journey was on time, same plane and another excellent crew.

Gatwick - Fuerteventura went without a problem. Food, drink and movie available. The crew were
polite and helpful. It was a good cheap flight exactly what I paid for.

Manchester - Kos return. Check-in opened as advertised at 0200, staff pleasant & efficient.
Aircraft ready to go at 0500 & captain announced that expected to depart at 0520. Sadly at
0520 another announcement saying dep. would be 0620 - sat on tarmac ready to go & sure enough
it was 0620. This a common problem as several other people we met over the course of our
holiday had similar experience. So not sure if this an airport problem with the time of the
take-off but thought Manchester was 24hr operational. Arrived in Kos at 1150 local time so
made up some time. Kos Airport is always chaotic due to its size and is not really suitable
for the amount of flights it handles everyday. The staff cope admirably with little
appreciation of the antiquated equipment and systems they have to use. As for seating, you
need to have knowledge of the 737 and certain seats offer better legroom than others, with
this knowledge it also pays to pay the additional £10 to guarantee which seat you sit in
unless you really want the extra leg-room seat which is another £20 each way.

Manchester - Tenerife. Delayed about 10 minutes going out and half an hour coming home. The
flight crew were friendly, legroom more than other budget airlines and the prices for drinks
and food were reasonable. There were films on both journeys but you had to buy special
headphones as normal ones didn't fit properly.

Paphos - Manchester. I had read the disturbing reports regarding Viking Airlines prior to my
holiday. The outward journey had been surprisingly ok however the seat pitch seemed very tight
- I have no idea how anyone approaching 6 ft could sit in those seats for 4 hours? The return
journey began as normal and we were asked to board 45 minutes prior to scheduled departure.
Everything appeared to on time when suddenly the Captain came on and advised we had missed our
slot! We would wait for 1 hour on the aeroplane in the middle of the Cyprus day. The doors
were left open and the crew distributed glasses of warm water! Everyone on the plane was
melting! We were then told that we had a small technical problem and that some luggage would
have to be unloaded from the plane and put on another flight returning shortly to Manchester.
We remained on the apron for a further 30 minutes. We had now been on the plane for 2 hours!
We finally pushed back and took off for Manchester. In midflight we were advised that the
removed luggage was following on a Thomson flight that would be arriving shortly after ours
and would be available for collection after landing. Once on the ground at Manchester we were
advised to go to the baggage handling agents who would advise us where to collect our removed
cases. To our amazement we reached the handling agents and were advised that all cases had
been removed from the flight and none of these cases would be returning on any other flight!
Forms had to be filled in and luggage would be returned by courier the following day! Clearly
this was totally unacceptable and many of the passengers were annoyed by the complete
inaccuracy of the information given by the crew. Would I fly Viking again - nNever! I have
heard of other instances of luggage removal involving Viking - I have been flying schedule and
charter for 25 years and never had luggage removed before. One unhappy passenger.

Gatwick to Skiathos - delayed some 27 hours with lack of communication or help. Baggage was
weighed on way out excluding hand baggage but weighed on way back including meaning we had to
pay excess baggage. Ended up flying Finnair on way out who were very professional. 7th August
returned with Viking and delayed again for couple of hours. Viking crew on way back could not
close aircraft door, could not count the correct numbers of passengers they should have had
and quite honestly were the most unprofessional crew I have ever come across. Would advise
anyone travelling with Viking not to!

We were due to fly Gatwick to Skiathos on 24 July at 0740. We boarded flight late and sat
around on board for nearly 3 hours - apparently due to thunderstorms to the East delaying all
those flights. We then were pushed back and engines started up. And then stopped and we were
towed back to stand. Apparently generator tripped out when engines started up. 30 min wait for
engineers to arrive. Further wait and then told that it could be 2 hours to fix and we should
return to terminal to wait (and bring carry on luggage in case we needed a new plane). Back at
terminal, flight kept getting delayed and then possibility of using another airline suggested.
Told may be 2 days before we could fly out. At 3pm collected baggage from carousel and driven
to Marriott Hotel, free meals etc. Next day, returned to terminal at 4am for 7am flight. This
was delayed to 8am, then 9am then 10am as Air Finland replacement flight needed arrival slot.
Flight left at around 11am - 27 hours late. Nice crew and service. Return flight okay with
Viking and only a few hours late!

Flight back from Kos 6th August. Horrendous! Due to fly at 00:05 hrs. Airport staff wouldn't
check us in, we stood waiting in a queue for over 2 hours, eventually a lady who works at the
airport gave us the news that due to mid air technical difficulties, the plane that was flying
out to us had to return to Gatwick. They were looking for another plane from somewhere else to
come and get us. We were offered refreshments at the taverna across the road and await news.
We spent the night on the airport floor, not great for kids! Eventually got onto a French
plane, Blue Line at 0930 hrs the next day. The crew had already done a London to Paris trip
and after dishing out two biscuits and half a cup of water we didn't see or hear from them
until half an hour before we landed! I'm so disgusted with them I'd advise anyone not to
travel with Viking Airlines unless you are prepared to spend countless hours hanging around
airports in the hope of getting to your destination!

We booked a holiday to Corfu with Viking Airlines. They were late leaving Gatwick (nothing out
of the ordinary with airlines) but staff were courteous, professional and friendly. Viking
Airlines got us there & back safely - which is more important than legroom. The plane was
clean, price of drinks reasonable.

Manchester - Rhodes 25th July. On arrival at Manchester we queued at check in for an hour only
to be told the flight was cancelled, and we were being put on a coach to Gatwick to fly out at
10.15pm. (Original departure time was 4.20pm) After a 5 hour coach trip to Gatwick, we arrived
to be told no one knew we were coming. After investigation they checked us in but told us our
new departure time was 01.30am! No information was given as to why any of this was happening,
but we were promised boarding would start at 12.30am. 1230 came - nothing! 01.30am came -
nothing! 02.30 we began boarding but still no information. We flew to Rhodes from Gatwick at
03.00am - 10.5 hours late from an airport 200 miles from Manchester, on Air Slovakia!
Flight home was delayed by an hour. Be warned this is a very small airline and if something
goes wrong, . they have no back up whatsoever!

Manchester-Skiathos Mykonos. Flight delay 8.5 hours due to one pilot phoning in sick. Only one
flight in and out of Manchester that meant the only pilot available left to fly the aircraft
was the pilot that landed the aircraft. Apparently it was delayed the previous evening and he
would only legally be able to fly the aircraft 2pm that day. This new replacement for the ill
fated Excel to be quite honest have bit of more than they can chew.

Skiathos to Gatwick 24th July. Initial delay of 3 hours to 1700, then a further 1.5 hours
delay to 1830, no information forthcoming from Airport Handling Office except that flight
would not be arriving from Gatwick. A large group transferred to Monarch airlines without
charge, but many individual passengers and smaller groups, including ourselves, had to pay 150
Euros per person. We did not want to risk being stranded on the island as Friday is the main
transfer day and the status of Viking Airlines was looking somewhat dubious. Will not consider
travelling with this airline in future.
