SIN to DPS. Very tired plane and takeoff in bad weather didn't add much to safety feeling. When landing in Denpasar the plane almost fell apart and started shaking heavily. Will not fly them again.

CGK-SIN. Check in handling not good. Boarding pass written manually by staff, hence there is a discrepancy between ground staff and flight attendant list of pax before departure. Delayed for more than 1 hour, not a good experience! For LCC standard, food is quite good, but not special. Flight attendant is not too professional compared to other LCC's I have taken before.

SIN-DPS end of August. Crew very professional and friendly. Flight left and arrived on time. Complimentary pastry and water offered. We had done HKT-SIN earlier the same day with Tiger Airways and felt like sardines, so really appreciated the extra leg room on this plane. Only complaint was that they had no arrival documentation for Indonesia on the flight which meant a delay going through immigration and customs in DPS. Would fly with Valuair again.

SIN-DPS with the chance to upgrade to exit row at check-in for 25 SGD per person. Additional bonus is the use of Terminal 1 at Singapore Changi. Full flight, arrival at DPS ahead of schedule, good cabin crew in Jetstar uniforms, Danish pastry & glass of water free of charge plus the generous legroom for the extra charge. Bags out quickly at DPS. Outstanding value.

Singapore to Surabaya return. The overall experience was very good. As a semi-budget airline they were cheaper than the SilkAir on this route and offered excellent value for money. Both flights were on time, but only about a quarter full which meant that for part of the journey I could stretch out over the three seats. My checked in bag was slightly over 20kg, but no fuss about that. The complementary snack was a Danish pastry and a glass of water, but food for purchase prices weren't unreasonable. A very good experience and I'd happily recommend this airline to anyone.

SIN-JAK-SIN. Tired looking Airbus 320, served by cheerful cabin crew in Jetstar uniform. A single beef pastry was given to each passenger free, along with a choice of water, coffee and tea on the way to Jakarta. Sweet bread and water served on the way back to Singapore but passengers have to pay S$3 for a cup of tea. Both flights on time. The only complaint perhaps was the check in staff in Jakarta.

Valuair needs to seriously work on its schedule timing. When I arrived to check in for my early morning flight from Singapore to Jakarta on Wednesday 28 November I was informed that it was delayed until 5pm because of mechanical problems with the aircraft. With meetings scheduled for the afternoon I had no choice but to buy a ticket on Garuda. On the return flight two days later all passengers were gathered together in the holding pen for boarding, but there was no aircraft in site. We were left waiting for several hours with no information or announcements provided as to our plight nor any kind of refreshment. When we did finally board we were informed the delay was again due to mechanical issues. The flight itself was fine, with faultless service by the cabin crew but nobody was pleased that we arrived in Singapore four hours late. It is a pity that I encountered these problems because it seemed like a nice enough airline but this kind of performance is too unrelaible for a business traveller such as myself.

Denpasar Bali to Singapore last week. The airline is basically Jetstar under a different brand name. Check-in was pretty easy at Bali. The flight arrived on time and arrived a few minutes early. It's basically a lower-cost airline, though with assigned seating, which is in contrast to Air Asia. The Singaporean crew was helpful enough for the just under 3-hour flight, though with the seats, they do squeeze you in. I didn't bother buying any of the snacks they offered. There is no entertainment onboard, but since you're flying into Singapore at half past midnight, a nap is probably better anyway. Overall, a decent experience that I'd be willing to do again in the future.

SIN-CGK-SIN evening flight. The plane were more than 90% full (due to Lunar New Year holiday). Check in were quite swift and seat was allocated progressively from front to back, I guess, because I checked in quite late and ended up with rear seat. Not very strict about baggage weight especially in CGK - I checked in almost 30kg of baggage though the allowance is 20kg - but maybe because 2 people in front of me has no luggage to check in. The plane were clean but the seat was uncomfortable - very bad lumbar support, thus making my back painful. SIN-CGK sector, which departed around 7 pm, was served sandwiches and ciffon cake as 'dinner' - inadequate. CGK-SIN sector, which departed around 9 pm, was served nasi lemak (coconut rice with chicken) - very delicious but the serving size was too much for supper. I was expecting the meals to be packed in disposable boxes with the word "Hungry?" printed on it - as seen in their advertisement before its merger with Jetstar Asia - but it no longer the case. The packaging is much simpler without any writing or logo. The crews were cheerful and very helpful in offering service. Overall, Valuair is a value for money airline to fly with.

Jakarta-Singapore-Jakarta last week. The return flight was a connecting flight from SQ flight coming from Colombo. Some reasons, SQ could not check my luggage all the way to Jakarta. So I had to pass thru immigration and retrieved my luggage and checked in again with Valuair. It's a bit inconvenient. Fortunately I had 3 hours to do these processes. If there's a tight connecting time, it would be problematic. I am not sure what is the problem SQ could not check the luggage with the connecting Valuair flight to Jakarta. Other than that issue, the flights were fine. Comfortable seats, clean cabin, smiling and helpful FAs. The name of the company says it all. Value for your money.

Recently I flew Valuair (roundtrip) to Hong Kong. The fares are very competitive. On both flights the loads were abt 75% full. They were operated on time and on brand new A320 aircrafts with leather seats in an all economy configuration. Cabin crews were very friendly, cheerful and bright inflight service. I do not want to claim that they offered a better inflight service than normal full fledge carrier but all things considered in comparison to their air fares, they certainly offered much better overall package than its full fledge competitors.

Recently flew roundtrip Valuair to Hong Kong. The fares are very competitive. On both flights the loads were light. They were operated on time and on brand new A320 aircrafts with leather seats in an all economy configuration. Cabin crew were young and friendly. They wore dark blue polo t shirts, beige jeans, and sneakers. Very smart. Toilets were always kept clean. Cockpit crew were of foreign national and were there to bid adieu to all passengers. Food is free and served in a box consists of a hot dish of either fried nice or noodles. There's jelly for desert. Tea, coffee and water is complimentary. The coffee is extremely good. Wine (S$6) and sodas (S$2) are charged extra. So are savouries, blankets, and pillows at S$2. There's an option of a personal DVD player at S$7 which has inbuilt 3 first run hollywood movies, comedy shows, games, and music. Water service is very regular. Even though the flights were empty, the crew kept themselves busy cleaning toilets and generally being attentive to passengers. There were smiles non stop. Valuair will definitely be my first choice whenever and wherever available.

BKK-SIN-BKK. Except for the fares, which out of BKK the other no-frills carriers seem to beat consistently, Valuair is an excellent choice. The new planes, the leather seats, and the delicious meal-in-a-box highlight the value. The flight crew seemed confident, experienced and jovial. Flght out of SIN was delayed, so each crew member walked around the gate introducing himself/herself and thanking each passenger for his/her patience. If the fares were lowered a bit further, Valuair would be my first choice for this route.

Bangkok to Singapore on 21st May. I was pleasantly surprised with Valuair. The extra leg room, the free (and tasty) lunch, the genuine smiles from cabin staff, the light and airy cabin all made this 2hr flight enjoyable. After travelling on a lot of low-cost carriers I think Valuair is more like a full service airline. Would definitely use them again!

CGK-SIN-CGK. A320 cabin looks very clean and fresh, just like the casual flights attendants (wearing jeans, polo shirts and sneakers). These female attendants are the most efficient I have seen on an aircraft. Smiles everywhere without being forced. And seats are most comfortable and ergonomic economy seats - with ample lumbar support and seat pitch. Lunch for 1.5 hours flight came in a cheerful box: piping hot fried vermicelli on the way out and nasi lemak on the way back, side fruit cocktail, juice plus tea / coffee served separately on a proper small plate. At the end of the flight a female attendant performed a live singing (Valuair's jingle) which everybody appreciated by clapping out loud. The price I paid was 40% lower than competition ?

SIN-HKG. Flight out was empty, only 24 passengers on a thursday afternoon. The FAs were friendly and attentive and showed constant concern about the running nose that I had. Food was good and sufficient and the seat pitch generous, better than the full-service airlines like United and SIA. Air in cabin smelt fresh and had a scent to it. Flight back on Sunday evening was more full but still had empty rows at the back for me to lie down. Even though there were more passengers a FA was concerned about the motion-sickness pills I had in my hand and asked me if I was ok. Another FA took the time to chat with a young passenger. I really commend the staff for their attentiveness, friendliness and efficiency, one of them using the passenger call light to grab the attention of their colleagues in front of the cabin. If you get row 11 on the A320 you are the unlucky person who has seats that don't recline, but doesn't really matter for short flights. They should also screen passengers at check-in for suitability to be seated at an exit row. One FA had to deal with a difficult passenger who refused to listen to the briefing on how to operate the emergency exit door.

I have just recently travelled on Valuair , Perth - Singapore - Perth and was surprised at the good value for money. The flight to Singapore was full and the only poor comment I have to make was the cabin temperature for me was too hot. On a positive note some how the cabin crew had learnt our names and any dialogue between us our names was used. Inflight food and drink was adequate. a bun after take off and coffee or tea. Before end of flight a good light breakfast, again accompanied by tea or coffee. Inflight entertainment was via a "PEA" at S$10.00 plus S$5.00 for an extra ear phone. While we didn't use it on the flight up we did on the flight back at a cheaper rate!. The selection of entertainment was excellent Movies (3) TV, games, music plus other. The flight home for some reason seemed quicker but we had plenty of room and things to do. Cabin temperature was good. Apart from the quality of the meals and the method of inflight entertainment I can see no reason for paying the higher fares of other airlines. Can highly recommend ValuAir for value, comfort and a safe flight.

Just flown Jakarta to Singapore on Valuair and was most impressed. Outstanding legroom for a budget carrier, at least 34 inches, nice hot meal and comfortable leather seats. Beats other budget carriers, that I have flown.

I can't figure out Valuair's ticket pricing strategy on the Bangkok-Singapore route. I have yet to fly with them because I always seem to find a lower fare on the online travel websites with full service carriers like Cathay Pacific, Finnair, or SAS. Why would I want to pay more and get less? Valuair needs to lower their prices.

Singapore to Perth at the beginning of Feb. First of all the good things: they let me onboard with my slightly overweight check in luggage and my (gulp) 3 carry on items (I was coming home after an extended period of time in the UK). Efficient check in and friendly service through to boarding. Liked the seat allocation and good seat pitch. Also the flight wasn't full so we were able (at the flight attendant's encouragement) to spread out giving everyone more room. Served a lovely spicy fried rice, some water and a yummy chocolate mousse, all free of charge (alcohol & soft drinks are charged for). The only thing I was really disappointed with was the in flight entertainment. I had almost finished my book when I boarded and didn't really mind as I'd read on their web site that Valuair has the seat back TVs on their flights to Perth. Alas, there were none. So had a few boring hours, and had to go ask a flight attendent for some magazines (which she cheerfully provided). Finally, what an interesting way to end the flight, with some Barry Manilow kareoke! First airline to make me laugh out loud before landing, a quirky and fun idea.

Definitely a great airline to fly ! Inflight entertainment, some frills and 34" seat pitch for a flight to Perth, what more can you ask for?

Travelled recently on VF302/307 to BKK. Valuair did offer you great value for your money if you paid early-bird price. The leg room is large especially for the back rows. Service in the air is average. I like the seats allocation system which allows me to travel with a little dignity at low cost. I recommend Valuair.

Valuair to BKK recently. I was quite impressed with the friendly staff and the interior layout of the plane . I don’t classify Valuair as a low-cost carrier, but i don't mind paying a bit extra for the generous seat pitch (32 inches) and the allocated seat number. For those travellers coming in from overseas, note that Valuair does offer 20kg baggage allowance unlike some other low-cost carriers. Remember that if you fly to Bangkok for a shopping trip!

BKK-SIN. My first flight with an Asian low-cost carrier, and certainly to be recommended to foreign travellers and locals alike. I arrived 3 hours ahead of departure and there was no queue at check- in. Staff friendly and I was given a window seat as requested. Boarding was somewhat chaotic as not done by row number, however we departed on time. A small hot meal along with tea or coffee was served pretty promptly into the flight, although soft drinks came at a price of about S$6 I think. The leather seats were comfortable and the crew efficient and friendly. No IFE. Overall an excellent flight for the price of about 3500 Baht, considering regular carriers were charging 5 times as much for the same journey.

Very friendly, cheerful and bright inflight service. Costs of snacks and refreshments are included in the fares which are slightly higher than Tiger Airways' fares but lower than Singapore Airlines' fares. Flying with Valuair is good value for money if you consider on Tiger Airways, you still have to pay for snacks and beverages even if you have paid S$280 for a return trip while Valuair removes that worry for you. Valuair's inflight magazine is an official destination guide magazine called The Real Destination in different Valuair's destination versions. Valauir provides you napkin too. However onboard Tiger Airways, you find no napkin and no inflight magazine.
