My trip to Adelaide was fine and I was wondering why Tiger got so many bad reviews. That was
until my trip home. My flight was cancelled and I was told I couldn't be flown home until 2
days later. I was disgusted that Tiger couldn't even get me and all of the other stranded
customers a plane home at least the next day. I had to pay $460 one way to get to Brisbane
(when my car is at the Gold Coast airport) which would have been cheaper if I just booked my
return ticket with Qantas in the first place. I will from now on fly with Qantas or Virgin
for the extra money. Budget airlines should be so everyone can afford to fly, but to me it is
not worthwhile, when it took me 15 hours and 500 dollars just to get home.

Sin-Penang-Sin. Had forgetten to upgrade check in allowance from Penang - Sin and called call
centre at the budget terminal - took me 20 minutes to get through. Has managed to pay S$10 for
15kg of check in allowance, otherwise I have to pay S$25 on the day of check in at the
airport. Flight 95% full, given seat allocation on both flights. Infant seat was given upon
entry to the aircraft and cabin crew has requested for infant boarding pass! They have
explained this is to reduce theft! Flew back to Sin 3 days later, flight was 70% full. Infant
seat belt given upon request before the flight took off! Both flight were uneventful and we
paid S$68 each for a return sector (vs S$300 for a SQ return sector). Tiger inflight mag has
more articles than previously and was a good way to pass time during the flight.

Penang - Singapore. Flight on time. Smart, clean cabin but flight attendants need to smarten
up their act. I was sitting in 1A. Three FAs were chatting in a group at the front and did not
see an old lady leave the plane and walk on to the jetway at Penang after boarding was
completed! If it were not for the fact the captain was stretching his legs on the jetway she
would probably have wandered back inside the terminal. She was looking for a toilet. I bought
a drink and a snack and caused chaos when paying with Malaysian Ringit. It took 3 FAs five
minutes to work out the exchange rate. Given that all the items were either 3,4,5,6 or 8
Singapore Dollars I would have thought they could have done the exchange before starting the
inflight sales. Are they on commission?

Canberra to Adelaide, Adelaide to Perth. Only mistake was to make connecting flights on same
day unaware of 45 minute closure I would of missed the connection to Perth. Luckily I changed
flight from Adelaide to Perth to the following day but at a cost. Having the 24 hour layover
in Adelaide added extra cost to holiday by having to pay for accommodation. Still had a day in
Adelaide and saw the sights having not been there before. I found all staff to be friendly and
the flights comfortable. All flights departed on time. If you are at the airport 2 hours
before and check in before 45 minute close off, read the instructions when booking flights you
will not have any problems.

MEL-SYD-MEL. 6.50am service and then back the next day on an Afternoon flight. When Checking
on outbound leg, the lady appeared to be new and in training, although there is no excuse for
being disinterested and unfriendly. The "temporary uniform" that some of these new ground crew
were wearing does not reflect this airline. Flight uneventful, menu is bare minimum and
useless. Left ontime and arrived early which was good. Sydney ground crew nice and friendly.
Checkin was smooth in Sydney, queue starting to build, so dont arrive too late as there were
piles of latecomers. Cabin crew helpful and attentive on the way back compared to the outbound
journey. Afternoon departure time was great and suits travelers as these are non-peak flights
so they are cheaper, and avoid using the likes of Avalon. I find every Tiger experience
different, some good and some bad, but if you follow the rules your experience should be fine.
There product is quite similar to Jetstar in terms of Aircraft fleet, seating, terminal use
and inflight entertainment on shorter flights, but their Melbourne Terminal and customer
service is just a joke sometimes. In terms of a short haul flight they are not a bad airline.

Tried to call the Singapore number to make changes in my reservation. After being guided
electronically, I patiently listened to the hold-music for 43 minutes the first time. A redial
didn't help matters - waited for another 32 minutes. Third try to another Tiger number, listed
as 'emergency' made my wait for 30 mins. And no, I did not have my call answered - I just
disconnected. 100+ minutes of waiting - why is it called helpline?

Canberra to Melbourne. Flight delayed for 3 hours. No apologies and explanation given from the
check-in staff. They just seem to be used to it and just informed us that the flight is
delayed, nothing else. A pure waste of time. They should at least sms us so that we wouldn't
need to waste our time going to the airport so early. I was in the airport for 5 hours just to
fly on a less than 1 hour flight. Worst of all, the cabin crew actually regard this 3 hours as
a short delay during the departure of the flight.

The check-in staff were rude and seemed to be on some kind of power trip. Total lack in
people skills and seem determined not to be helpful at any cost. I would never fly them again.

Singapore/Perth. No problems, not much seat pitch but no different than Virgin. Menu basic but
took food onto plane. Cost one third of other airlines. What can you expect for such a cheap
fare, planes are new.

I've flown with Tiger many times, never had any stand out bad experiences but cheap tickets
equals cheap service. Planes are cramped (although new), and customer service terrible. There
is never staff around if you have a problem, often don't open check-in when they say they will
(2 hrs before departure) and staff are rude. It doesn't cost them a thing to smile and be
friendly but they seem determined to only offer the bare minimum, even on a personal level. I
can only recall one friendly air hostess in the many times I've flown with them. I'll only fly
with them when substantially cheaper.

I have not flown with Tiger airlines as yet - my flight is in September. I am very concerned
as I have lost my itinerary off my computer and have tried many times to contact Tiger - with
no answer to their phone. It goes through to a message then hangs up - so I tried at night and
you are kept on hold for over an hour and still no answer. I've tried faxing and no response.
I've rung the airport and they can't help. I live over an hour from airport and was told by
Melbourne that I should come in to see them.

I flew with my husband and four children from Gold Coast to Adelaide and back last week.
Overall we were satisfied - the flights were on time, and we weren't expecting any more that
what we got. We travelled with hand luggage only and had no trouble. Each item was weighed
apart from my personal handbag, and a cloth bag in which I had water bottles and some food for
the children. At boarding time, it was announced that food and drinks were not allowed to be
taken on board, so I asked for clarification, and it was amended to 'hot' food and drink,
particularly any food with strong odours that might disturb other passengers. I carried fruit
and donuts, which seemed fine. On the way home, we were informed that muffins were available
on board as well as the noodles and packaged biscuits. My only criticism was firstly that we
had checked the website and read that a car seat could be carried for infants free of charge,
but that it didn't apply to the small booster we wanted to take for out three year old (ie not
an infant seat). Luckily a friend could take it home, otherwise we would have been charged
$25. Secondly there is no on-line check-in, or automated airport check-in, so we queued for
some time, which I haven't had to do domestically for some time. If I was travelling alone,
the cost saving probably wouldn't outweigh the inconvenience of having to arrive so early at
the airport, and the queue at check-in, but for our whole family to travel it was reasonable.

Sydney to Melbourne return. I found Tiger perfect for what I wanted, staff were very friendly
and efficient. Be sure to read and understand all check-in requirements and baggage
restriction as they are very strict on these, but to be expected when paying low fares.

Never again. Had several people warn me about Tiger changing and cancelling flights but had
already booked. Flight was Adelaide to Hobart 9.40am departure. 9.20pm night before get a text
message on mobile, "Tiger regret flight cancelled, will advise later". Checked online to find
nothing cancelled or delayed. Then phoned and waited for about 20 minutes to talk to some one
who still said no problems, no delays, flight ok dont know why text was sent. 7.20am next
morning just over two hours before departure received phone call from an agency in Adelaide
confirming the flight was cancelled, no explanation, next seats/flight available four days
time. As I was only planning to go for 4 days this was no help at all. I fly often, but will
not ever attempt to fly Tiger again and can only advise anybody not to try.

SYD-MEL. Tiger are going downhill. Checkin moved swiftly in Sydney, although they need to
introduce Online Checkin. Tiger used the main terminal (T2) which is one of the main reasons
why I chose to fly them. The inbound arrival was 50mins late, which is no surprise as I have
been putting up with this for months. Boarding was not professional. People are standing
everywhere while at least 10 passengers who missed check in cut off, are blocking everyone,
the whole process was a mess. It all puts stress on the ground staff who are in return just
rude to everyone else. It can be hard sometimes to make the 45min cut off in Sydney with
shocking traffic and the long term car park bus is slow. Crew onboard fine, nothing to write
home about. Menu is pathetic, still no decent range of healthy alternatives, not even a
sandwich. There was an airline magazine to read which was new. I will only be flying Tiger
again on their first morning departure considering I know it has the best chance of getting
away on time. I only paid $AU49 for this flight, but it still was not value for money and they
are not a family friendly airline due to their cancellations, delays and they just strand you
sometimes. Tiger are a customer service disaster. I wont be flying late evening departures
from Sydney again using Tiger.

MEL-SYD-MEL. T4 at Melbourne was good, far from the bad reviews I had been reading about, it
is not far from the main terminals at all and neither is it a shed. The ground staff were OK,
a bit abrupt and didn't give much of a Hello, how are you? Check-in was fine and there was a
big enough waiting area. Both flights on time, arrived early as well. Cabin crew nice. It is
true that some seat pockets don't have menus or Tiger Tales, but that doesn't bother me, we
got these tickets for $50 return. Some of their planes had the overhead lockers plastered with
images of Melbourne, a great decoration in my opinion. All in all we were very satisfied,
worth every dollar of those $50!
