Return Manchester-Cuba. Flight late, but managed to get two seats together in row 42 near rear
of aircraft. Legroom good, seat comfort poor, these seats don't recline, seat back tv screens
not working and no offer of a free drink or anything as compensation. Some cabin staff
miserable and didn't seem to now what they were doing. This was a 'holiday with style' but
were asked if we had ordered a meal (even though it was long haul) we said 'no', and the
stewardess then took it away, only to return it again later together with a sour face. Not
impressed with cabin comfort or service.

Manchester to Mexico. Paid an extra £100+ for the privilege of flying Premium Class. Was
only told 2 weeks before that we could prebook our seats so that we could sit together (we
were a party of 8 - 2 families), so we ended up as 2 sets of 3 seats - rows 3 & 4 seats C,D &
E, and row 6 seats D & E on the outbound flight, and on the inbound flight again 2 sets of 3
rows 4 & 6 - seats C,D & E and 1 seat on row 3 & 1 seat on row 5. If we had known this when we
first made the booking then we could have had a better choice and our whole party could have
sat together. On boarding the airplane, noticed how shabby it was (A330), carpets stained, and
seat back tv screens wobbly and not very good, armrests shabby and worn, seats did not recline
much. Seat pitch cramped especially when other passengers in front had the seats reclined.
Welcome drink was sparkling rose wine or orange juice in plastic cups - have been on other
airlines and had drinks in proper glasses. Was given a comfort pack. Meal of a poor standard
- no different choice for premium and economy. Bar service the only good point, but again
drinks were served in plastic, or hot drinks in paper cups. Return flight - same, interior
looked very tired/worn. Wasn't given a comfort pack even though it was an overnight flight
though there was a pillow and blanket on the seat. Children/adults in our party were unable
to sleep as hostesses were walking up and down aisles most of the time selling duty free and
drinks service. Selection of films/programmes available were good and the majority of our
party made full use of them.

Calgary to Glasgow. Premium Class was anything but. The seats were cramped with inadequate
legroom and not nearly enough pitch to get to sleep. The meals were tiny and almost cremated.
The staff were okay, but not overly friendly.

Manchester-Dalaman. The most cramped seating I have ever experienced. Thomas Cook list seat
pitch as 28" which appears to be about the shortest in the world. I found it all but
impossible to fit my legs in the space allowed. The food was extra and of poor quality. No
entertainment offered. Crew polite but kept kids awake by trailing up and down trying to sell
duty free etc. On time but the discomfort on a 4hr+ flight was unacceptable and would cause
health issues for less fit travellers. We paid over £1300 for 2+2 kids and will never fly TC
again.

Newcastle-Tenerife return. Old B757-200 going out, FAs were great. We got free meals which
were ok but not on a par with the likes of Emirates - no IFE on flights under 7 hours, they
rent out PSP's for £7.50 with films, tv shows and 4 games. On return the FA's were a lot older
but friendly, the plane again tired and rather scruffy, the food was not as nice as the flight out.

Halifax to Gatwick return. Ticket bought from Air Transat, flight operated by Thomas Cook.
Both flights great - left on time and arrived early. Boeing 757 with leather seats and lots
of leg room in steerage. No upgrades possible on these flights. Food good by airline standards.

Flew to Zante with Thomas Cook, very old B757, seat tight, no arm room, and couldn't get tray
table down. No inflight entertainment now, no complementary drink as compensation, only an
announcement that you can rent a PSP for £7.50! Crew pleasant enough for 5am flight out,
flight on time. Flight home a newer B757. No real choice for airlines now with
Mytravel/First Choice disappearing and having less competition.

Belfast to Antalya and back on A320. Flight outbound delayed by 20 minutes, and legroom was a
bit tight, however otherwise it was excellent. Very friendly crew, nice meal and the cabin
looked okay. Excellent announcements from flight deck on both flights. Return not so good
however. Antalya Airport is OK, wasn't expecting much though. Flight was jammed, about 2 spare
seats, and me and my family were split up all over the plane. Meal decent and the crew were
good. However the seat pitch was extremely tight. No in-flight entertainment unless you paid
for a PSP which had very little on it anyway. Overall, the flight home was very uncomfortable.
I will use Thomas Cook again, but next time we will pre-book seats together, it was just too
uncomfortable otherwise.

Gatwick to Rhodes return. As a registered blind person and nervous flyer I found Thomas Cook
staff to be extremely helpful both on the ground and in the air. Flight back was two hours
late. Legroom is not brilliant but it is only four hours. The staff try their best sometimes
in extremely difficult circumstances.

I travelled to Greece this year with Thomas Cook Airlines from Manchester - paid £1550 for 2
adults and 2 children, double what BA charge from Gatwick. We were crammed in with no leg
room, no meal included and the flight had no entertainment system at all, no music, no films.
I will not fly with them again, the holiday experience is supposed to start when you get on
the plane, it doesnt from Thomas Cook Airlines, from rip off Manchester.

I fly regularly to UK and mostly use Air Transat for cost advantage over Air Canada, though I
sometimes use them, especially off-season when Air Transat only fly to Gatwick. Since Air
Transat started codesharing with Thomas Cook I have been pleased with the TC flights. They are
better than Air Transat on service, meals and cabin crew. For a charter airline, I give them
at least 3 stars. As for their Premium class - since the upgrade is neither expensive nor
substantially better, I would say that it is really only feasible for anyone who wants a bit
of extra convenience and a marginally more comfortable seat.

Kos to London Gatwick 13 August due to depart Kos 0155 was delayed with no reason given by
Thomas Cook. An update on situation was expected at 0300 but no explanation given by any
Thomas Cook reps until 0500 when all passengers were called back to baggage reclamation area.
Thomas Cook claim flight was diverted to Rhodes due to bad weather - localised fog despite 3
other flights from other carriers including Thomas Cook arriving after the alleged canceled
0155 flight. Passengers bussed to local hotel to spend the next 12 hours in a hotel foyer
floor along with 300 other passengers from a canceled Thomas Cook flight to Newcastle. Thomas
Cook gave an update on situation at 1000, promising to fly all passengers back to UK, but
would have to fly to Manchester - not Gatwick. No compromise from Thomas Cook so both sets of
passengers had to be flown back to Manchester. Promised time of departure was 1805, but this
was delayed for reasons unknown until 2135 - then as passengers were entering passport
control, flight was delayed a further hour until 2235. Arrived at Manchester at 0005 on 14th -
bussed to Newcastle/Gatwick. Letter to passengers from Thomas Cook reps apologising for the
inconvenience was inaccurate. Thomas Cook reps failed to advise passengers of problems,
constantly fobbed passengers off claiming "they didn't know where the plane was" or "what time
it was due to arrive". Passengers including children forced to grab what little sleep they
could on hotel floor. 36 hours later than expected, arrived home.

Bristol to Antalya and back on A320. Had booked seats together and onboard meals but no extra
legroom. Flight out was delayed by 1 hour. Legroom was OK, even with the tray down and the
food was surprisingly good. Cooked breakfast going out, and sausage and mash coming back.
Flight back early and the only real gripes were the kid from hell in the seat behind me and
the fact that the cabin crew were constantly trying to you sell stuff. (Duty free, drinks,
snacks, scratch cards and even a charity collection)! Not BA or Lufthansa, but as far as
holiday flights go, I have had worse.

London Gatwick to Vancouver and back. Appalling legroom for anyone, never mind someone tall
like me. You have to pay extra for extra legroom seats (wish I had) and also for any extra
drinks or snacks (beyond the meal and snack we received). Also have to pay for headphones for
the IFE, which is not that good anyway. Cabin crew were polite, friendly and good-humoured.
The only reason for any marks at all.

Birmingham to Paphos B757-200. The aircraft had the most uncomfortable seats I have had the
misfortune to be sat in. At a seat pitch of 28", I defy anyone to find any airline seat that
offers less room. The service on board was almost non existant. Our meal outbound consisted of
a small muffin bar and a carton of orange juice - not good value at 7.50GBP each. I complained
to staff and their comment was "we must have missed you out" - no apology and offer of
reimbursement. If the staff spent as much time tending to passengers needs instead of selling
scratchy cards, then it would be a move in the right direction.
