The trip from hell to Cuba, started with a 2 hour delay in Northbay, airport could not process travellers quick
enough, stood in line for over 2 hours. Sat on the plane for 60 minutes waiting to be de-iced. Sunwing bus
over an hour late picking us up at our resort for the return trip. We had to clear customs in Ottawa, removing
all luggage and clearing customs, re-check your luggage in another line up. Finally got onboard and had to sit
for another hour, they forgot to load half the luggage so we had to wait for them to finish loading. The flight
to North Bay only 39 minutes but being stuck on the plane it took over 3 hours to get out of Ottawa!

We just returned from Varadero. My only complaint is that we chose and paid for Elite Class and all we got
for that was leg room and a quicker check-in in Toronto. In Cuba we waited forever at check-in although the
lines were short. The food was not good but wine with the meal and champagne with the breakfast was
welcomed, but the rest of the plane got the same thing and we were not treated with any more care. No one
offered us blankets or pillows and they should have for Elite. Elite should be treated a little bit better for the
extra money.

We had booked a direct flight to Punta Cana, only to get to YYZ and find that it was going to Quebec City
first. No notification, added hours to the flight. Crew were awful. We checked in long before anyone in
Quebec did, however we got stuck with the washrooms right behind us. Waited 3 hours before we could get a
beverage. Flight 421, much better. Attentive and friendly. Since when do I have to pay $15 per seat, per
flight to book a seat?

Just returned from Cancun. Flight out of Ottawa was on time and easy. Transportation to and from resort was
quick and Sunwing representative were very helpful during our stay. Overall pleasant travel, cannot comment
on the food as I did not have any and would not expect it to be over the top as most airline food is the
same. Flight crew were courteous and efficient. Overall very good experience.

Toronto-Rome. Our flight to Rome was delayed over 13 hours, so we left the following day and arrived in
Rome in the middle of the night with nowhere to go until the morning. No apology - nothing. On our way
return, we left over 1 hour late because someone had lost their passport. The seats were the smallest I have
seen and the inflight movie was shown using a projector with two working colors. The food was regular airline
food and the cabin crew once in flight were polite. The actual flight was smooth both ways.

Our experience on Sunwing was positive. We flew to Mexico, four adults and two children (8 & 12). The service was
very good, food was edible and I liked that we got two choices. The flight was on time there and back. It was also
nice to hear the captain address the passengers regarding our surroundings.

I was very happy with the service we received on Sunwings to and from Puerto Vallarta. We were well informed, the
food was great and the service was supreme. They give you a snack early on, a full meal service with wine, a water
break and nice hot towelette.

Our trip started 6 hrs late, we were looking forward to watching the onboard movies with our free earphones only
the picture on the screen was jumping with green flashes of colour, it was so hard to watch so we just gave up.
On the return it looked good, we were onboard on time, seatbelts checked and then we were told there was a
problem with the plane and the tyre would have to be changed. They said we would be given a temporary pass to
go back to duty free until the plane was ready, we were again loaded on, they did a count and were ready to leave
however we told the steward several times that the lady ahead of us was not on the plane and they put the
walkway back up to the plane and the lady got onboard saying they did not want to let her on they told her
everyone was accounted for. After another head count for the 4th time they found they were missing another 4
people. Once in the air they wouldn't turn off the seatbelt sign until the first meal was served, they were very
disorganized, again the picture was unwatchable. Never seen so much chaos.

Montreal to Paris - the flight was on time and we arrived 1 hr early. We were served champagne, hot meal with
wine, breakfast. Staff were nice and polite. Return, Paris to Montreal, registering our luggage was slow. Everybody
boarded on time but we waited 20 min before departure. Service onboard was good - champagne, hot meal with
wine, small pizza. Staff were again lovely.

Gatwick to Toronto. This flight was due to depart at 12.10pm but did not leave until 00.40 am. While waiting my
partner and myself were told there were mechanical faults, we were each given £10 pounds vouchers and just
before departure we got another voucher which we were unable to spend as everywhere was closed.

Calgary to Cancun. It does not make any sense for the plane to go from Calgary to Edmonton and then to
Cancun. 2 hrs after we boarded we were still flying over Alberta. The service onboard was awful, it was impossible
to get a glass of water when they were not serving drinks. One meal was given on a flight that for the Calgary
passengers lasted 8 hrs. A few more snacks would have been welcome.

Just came back from Cuba a week ago, we flew with sunwing for the first time but most certainly not the last. The
service in the plane amazing, champagne, wine, choice of 2 different hot meal, pillow, blanket etc. Their planes
are only a few years old and they have leather seats.

We travelled with Sunwing from Toronto to Punta Cana Domincan Republic return. I was very concerned about the
flight as I had read a few bad reviews but both flights went very smoothly. I was travelling with 3 small children
and any delays would have been difficult to deal with but both flights left on time. I found the staff very helpful.
Really we have no complaints about the flights and I would not hesitate to book a flight with Sunwing again.

We booked late flights with Sunwing flying from London Gatwick-Toronto returning one week later, both flights left

I booked a trip through Sunwing to London/Paris Sun. The flight was delayed until Mon. We lost a whole day and
night in London which was already paid for. The flight failed to provide my daughter with a vegetarian meal which
we had ordered. The flight crew did not seem to care and my daughter was starving by time we got back to
Toronto, Canada. They were not very pleasant and almost seemed like they did not want to be there. No movie
on the way down and coming back you could not see the screen as the seats are blocking the view. All in all it
was a very bad experience with Sunwing.

the food was okay.

We were on an all inclusive vacation from Toronto to Punta Cana. While our trip unto the
departure was pretty uneventful our flight home was a complete gong show. Our flight was
delayed by 8 hours before it was eventually cancelled. There were no Sunwing reps at the
airport to tell us what was happening. So we spent 8 hours in the Punta Cana Airport, wandering
from one terminal to the next. Sunwing gave us a $10 food voucher, that could only be used at
one restaurant. Once we found out the flight was cancelled we were sent to a resort 35 min
away - not for the night, but for the 8 hours before we had to return to the airport. They
rescheduled our flight for 4am. At the resort where we stayed for the evening, we were given a
room with a severe leak in the bathroom. All in all I will not be wasting my time or money
with these guys any time soon!

Vancouver to Cancun return. Good foods, good service both ways. Didn't like to have to pay for
advance seat booking. Also the charges for overweight baggage especially when we used one bag
for two of us - $20.00 per kilo nearly $10.00 per pound! I know, I read it in the documentation
before leaving, we even weighed our bags before leaving to see they were under by some amount,
but didn't give it a thought. So purchase any liquor you want to bring home at the duty free
after you check in.

Edmonton to Los Cabos. Departure was scheduled for 3.30pm, delayed. At 6pm we were given a $15
voucher each to eat dinner. At 9pm the flight was cancelled and we were given a shuttle (with a
line of people a mile long waiting, so we paid a cab) to the Days Inn Leduc. This hotel can't
possibly be more than a 2* as it stunk and had the last rentals half empty water bottle in the
window sill. We ended up flying at 9am the next morning with a $150 pp voucher handed to us
upon boarding. (apparently only 1 voucher per transaction is accepted on a future trip). The
sad part is this happened to our family of 8 two years ago and that time we received no
compensation and actually had to rent everyone's rooms for the night & pay for meals.

YVR to Cancun return. We did pay for the Elite Plus upgrade and sat in exit rows 15 and 16,
which we had pre-booked about 2 weeks ahead of time. There is loads of leg room in these rows,
and the only issue with the seats is that those in row 15 don't recline (again not a big deal
for me). Our 737 on the way down had normal tray tables on the backs of the seats in front of
us, but the one on the way back had the tray tables in the arms for the exit row. I prefer the
former as those seats are more comfortable. The flights both ways were not full, so my husband
and I had our 3 seats to ourselves, and many passengers had whole rows of seats to themselves.
The staff at both airports were friendly and helpful, and crew on the flights were very good
and extremely accommodating. I've flown with many other airlines where the crew disappears
after take-off and you practically never see them again - absolutely not the case here. The
food was quite good both ways for what it is, and we had no complaints. They had plenty of
drink service and promptly tidied up empty cups/trays afterwards. The Elite Plus upgrade came
in handy at check-in in Cancun, where we bypassed a huge line-up of travelers as there were
only 2 regular check-in windows + the Elite Plus window open and no one in the Elite Plus line-
up. Based on this single experience, I would recommend Sunwing and I would fly with them
again.

A vacation to Punta Cana booked with SunWing and I was very pleasantly surprised. The two
flights to/from our destination either left on time or early and both arrived ahead of
schedule. The staff were very pleasant and the only criticism I have is that the food was not
the greatest - but there was no extra charge like on Air Canada.

My spouse and I flew to Cancun on Sunwing Airlines for vacation. I found Sunwings airport
check in staff rude and indifferent in Calgary and especially in Cancun. The baggage allowance
of 20kg between two bags is a joke. West Jet allows one 50 lb bag and an additional bag up to
50 lbs for an additional 20.00 In Calgary I was told that I could not bring my computer bag on
the plane, this is the same bag I fly with on West Jet and I have never had an issue with it.
I stuffed it in my one checked bag and I carried the laptop on board. The Calgary counter
staff look like stars compared to the staff working in Cancun. We were over the weight limit
in Cancun. We were told we would have an additional charge of $20.00 per kg. We wanted to
quickly rearrange some items to meet the limit but we were told to go back to the end of a 30
minute line. We went back to the end of the line made the revision and I ended up paying and
additional $40. This amount was less than I would have paid had we not gone to the back of the
line. It was now okay for me to bring my Computer bag on as carry on. Stuffing the computer
bag in my checked luggage in Calgary did not put me over but it did in Cancun. I will also add
the negative comments on this site about the seating and leg room on this airline are very
accurate. I will never fly this airline again, I submitted an email comment on the Sunwing
website and I am sure they will not respond.

We traveled with Sunwing to Huatulco, Mexico return. The plane departed from Toronto 5 hours
late, return flight was five hours late as well (no voucher given this time) and I could see
on Huatulco airport that they had a total of four late flights out of a total of eight on
April 19th. Basically this is how Sunwing is doing business, they are not able to commit to a
schedule because they simply do not care about their passengers.

Just returned from a planned family vacation to Varadero. The hotel was what was expected, the
flight to and from was not. The flight down was delayed by 2 hours by weather now this is not
Sunwing's fault but leaving a fully loaded aircraft on the tarmac could have been avoided by
letting people wait inside the airport. The flight crew on both flights were excellent but as
we were flying as a family one would think that upon check in that Sunwing would seat us all
together no we were scatted all over the aircraft for the flight home, a bit of a
disappointment. The leg room and seating were very cramped if they removed 1 row of seats on
each side of the plane all would be good, I think a very simple solution to a lot of there
complaints.

I recently travelled with Sunwing Airlines to Varadero, Cuba. The flight itself was a great
experience however the Sunwing staff at the Varadero airport made the experience horrible.
When we were leaving to go back to Canada our flight was delayed. Sunwing staff at the
airport could not speak english and would not communicate to passengers about the length of
delay. We were delayed for more than 6 hours and Sunwing did not provide any vouchers for food
or drinks. The entire Sunwing Staff was disnorganized, unprofessional and would not
communicate which made things very frustrating for us passengers.

Just returned from a trip to Cuba. Crew unfriendly and they ran out of our selection of food
by seats 9AB. Seats very cramped. We had one stopover to let passengers off and load new ones
on. None of the new passengers were assigned seats, so that the assigned seats were taken.
With 200 people trying to sort out seats it was very stressful for all.

Return trip Vancouver, Varadero. Travelled Elite Plus package both ways. Excellent upgrade.
Going down bulkhead seat and they were somewhat tight as armrests do not raise in front row
due to the the serving table inside them. Coming back we were in the row behind much more
comfortable. Crew work hard and very friendly. Food was very good.

My wife and I flew to San Juan return. On the trip to San Juan the flight
attendants were friendly and meal was good but seating was tight. On the return
we had booked Elite Plus seats for $40 extra each. I was placed in the front row
- seat 2D - but was cramped from the get - go. The seating plan shows the seats
to apparently have lots of room but this in reality is not the case. I tried
placing my left foot out into the aisle but the washroom traffic was pretty
heavy so rather than annoy people I kept my feet tucked in. Despite the
negatives re seating, I felt that the crew worked hard.

Travelled to Puerto Vallarta from Vancouver. Staff at the counters and the crew
were great. The champagne, hot towels, free wine and meal were an added bonus
and the flights were on time. The legroom is a little cramped but on the way
down we had the first row, which had a little more room and did not pay extra
for this. My daughter and I had seats together on both flights.

I traveled to Puerto Vallarta with SunWing and found many positives to this
charter airline. We booked a Champagne flight and service was great. Upon take
off we were served a small serving of champagne to toast our trip and the meal
they served was delicious. I would recommend the non-vegetarian option as on
both flights it looked much better than the vegetarian. There was complementary
wine with the meal which were decent. The return flight was much the same
although you do not get champagne service, meal was tasty and there was again
complementary wine. The only downside was the leg room. I am 5'7" and I found my
knees cramped especially when the seat in front of me went back - not the most
comfortable experience.

This is a barebones airline that does the minimum possible to get you there and
back. However, that is what I paid for. We flew return Edmonton to Puerto
Vallarta, and paid for the extra leg room, preferred boarding, seat selection,
and express checkin ($60 per). The express checkin lines in both airports were
unmarked and we missed them, but there was hardly a delay to speak of. The leg
room was nice - we saw many couples and families separated in the cabin so the
seat selection should be a must. The service was not friendly at all, but
serviceable. The bar cart comes once, but they allow you to stock up. The snacks
were of poor quality, and the dinner was barely edible. The hot towel service
and champagne departure were nice little frills, but since there was no charisma
to the crew it really didn't add a lot. Both flights were on time. If you want
anything more than the most basics service you will want to look elsewhere, and
be prepared to pay for it.

Calgary to Cancun, and Toronto to Cancun. Booked flights because of flight times
and both the Calgary & Toronto times were changed. Calgary flights changed from
direct to stopping in Vancouver to pick up passengers. Added 4 hours each way to
our trip. Toronto flight changed from an early in the day flight to a very late
one. Delays on the way home and never an explanation that made sense.

Vancouver to Cancun. They bumped up our flight by 9 hours each way and didn't
bother to tell us. I guess they figured that nobody had any connecting flights.
Good thing that we printed our E-tickets a week in advance and caught the
change. Of course this meant we had to change our connecting flights (losing our
aero-points in the process) and adding 2 nights hotel in Vancouver. Customer
service was very rude when asked about this, and said that it was their right to
change flight times without notice. Terrible customer service with lots of
attitude. Seating in the plane was very cramped and uncomfortable. The flight
crew was good and was the only positive thing about Sunwing.

Was given seat 1c and 20d for a romantic vacation get away with my girlfriend.
When I complained I was told that we could have paid an extra $60 each for
priority seating, When I asked what that included, and was told "seats
together". Staff rude, seats are so cramped that I wouldn't think anyone over
5foot 8 would fit. Keep your ounce of champagne and free earphones, and seat
couples that book together in seats together.
