I wish I had read reviews before I booked flights for my mom, sister, friend and I. We flew from BOS to FLL.
Flights were about $50 cheaper than other airlines, but once you consider they charge you 45 for the first
checked bag and 50 for carry on, you might as well have bought the more expensive fight. They make you pay
to change seats mid flight, even though the flight I was on was half empty. They don't give you water or
even peanuts for free. Everything is at least $5 or more. On the way back to BOS we arrived at the airport to
check in 50 min before our flight, only to have them tell us they had already closed the flight and could no
longer get on our flight. Then we found out the next flight wasn't for another 12 hours. To even get on that
flight I had to pay $600 for 4 of us, to just change the flight.

LAX to Detroit with a stop and plane changes in Vegas. Paid $100 in baggage fees, not to mention the cost
of water, coffee and when asked for a bag of ice for my back, thought they were going to throw me off the
plane. In addition, the seats on the long version of this trip, did not recline.

We had tickets from Chicago to Las Vegas for a 5 day period as part of a multi city 10 day vacation. The trip
from Chicago to Vegas was uneventful other than the cramped seats and baggage costs. Return from Las
Vegas to Chicago on May 3rd was a completely different story! Arrived at the airport at 8am for a 10am
departure. Flight been delayed by an hour. As we are heading to the gate we look at the departure board and
find our flight has been cancelled. Spirit staff at the gate give us no information other than to go see the
ticket agents. At the ticket area there is a huge line and we are told we need to go to a carousel and pick up
our luggage then come back and see an agent. From this point it just got worse and to make a long story
short, we ended up with a 12 hour wait to fly to LA then another 3 hour wait to catch a flight to Chicago. This
all resulted in a 17 hour delay. The communication, recovery process and customer service were sorely lacking
in our experience.

Recently flew from Chicago to Tampa, the checked luggage was $50. Then if your carry on will not fit under
your seat they charge you $100. When I complained one of the Spirit gate personnel said it would be only
$50. However it was the return trip that was a joke! Got to the airport to return to Chicago, told the flight
had been canceled due to weather. Their response was all we were told is the flight had been canceled! They
did pay for the Delta tickets but we missed our train in Chicago and we had to stay in Chicago overnight. I
don't believe I saved any money and they don't seem to want a repeat customer.

Terrible, our flight left late from Cancun and arrived late in Dallas, we were made to go though Custums pick our
checked bag take it somewhere else, by the time we were in customs our next flight was already gone. We were offered a
voucher for partial payment on a hotel and we had to provide our own transportation to and from' By that time is was
already 6.30 pm and we had to be back at 4:00am for our flight at 6 am. We ended sleeping on cots in the middle of the
terminal. Never again will we fly Spirit.

We flew from Ft Lauderdale to Denver by way of Atlanta and Dallas. Fortunately I registered our single
checked bag online in advance. However, upon arrival we found out that we had to pay an additional $25
because our bag weighed 49lb - over their apparent 40lb limit. The standard for checked luggage for other
airlines is 50lb. Many people around us were complaining to deaf Spirit staff ears about having to pay $100
just to bring on board a carry on bag. Before even getting through security I was already regretting my
decision to fly Spirit. Spirit topped it off when I found out onboard that you can't even get a drink of water
without paying $3. I will not fly Spirit again if given the option.

Not enjoyable. The seats didn't even recline on both flights. Flew BOS to FLL via Myrtle Beach and back.
Though the flight into Fort Lauderdale was early, the flight experience wasn't great. They didn't offer water
and everything had a price. I was surprised when I wasn't charged to use the lavatory.

Never again! We had to go urgently to Florida. Spirit had the cheapest tickets for $350, but once you pay for carry-on
and checked luggage it comes to more than $500 per person. Info on their website is very confusing and misleading when
it comes to how much you have to pay for your bags. You CAN carry one average bag for no cost. No live person to
answer your calls. I waited for more than 2 hrs on the phone. Self check-in took forever, was not logical and we
needed the help of a kind agent. No TV in the waiting area, few seats, and constant threats that they will charge you
$100 for carry on if you pay for it at the gate. But , nobody checked our carry-on sizes! The seats are cramped, dirty
with food and spilled drinks, around the seat are crumbs and just garbage, the whole plane is so dirty and stinky -I
never saw something like this. Even the windows were super dirty. No TV, no music, just loud, gum smacking passengers.
Lots of crying babies, even on the late night flight. The crew was nice, but they were pushing their member card (yeah
right!) and expensive junk food and drinks. When I asked for hot water for my own tea, they almost refused.
To top it all-they completely broke and lost one of the wheels on my checked in bag. We arrived at midnight, didn't
notice until morning, for 2 days got bounced between Spirit and the airport, but no answer (and the message in bad
English says they are in the office from 8:30AM - 12:30 PM), when we finally got the person to help us, we were told
that they only accept damage claims for first 4 hrs after landing! So, the price of our bag+new bag+check in price=
300$.

Seats are tight, but left on time both days. Checked baggage on line which is cheapest way to do it. Printed tickets
ourselves at airport which was easy. Had no entertainment at all. Flew from Baltimore to FLL. Everything was
pretty much as I expected. It was an okay experience with this airline.

This airline has some pretty slick "bait and switch" tactics. Additionally, their reservation customer service is
horrible. Completely outsourced. If you want to file a complaint and decide to call their Ft. Lauderdale corporate
office, Good luck! They don't want to hear from you!

First and last time to fly Spirit. My husband and I flew from Houston to Las Vegas in March and although the rates
were cheaper, so was everything else. There was a fee for everything, from checking bags to getting a cup of water!
Very unprofessional flight attendants (young, giggled the whole flight, very immature). Not a pleasant experience at
all and definitely would not recommend Spirit Airlines!

I will never fly this airline again. Seats are cramped and very uncomfortable. You cant even get a cup of water
unless you pay extra. There is a fee for everything. I didn't even try to go to the bathroom for fear they would
charge me for it.

I flew Spirit today for the first time. As far as fees if you pay before online its cheaper and won't come close to
prices on other carriers. For 2 round trip tickets and 2 checking bags both ways was $450 compared to $1200 on
southwest and $1400 on AA. Staff at check in nice, the flight staff was ok. I'm over six ft tall and my knees hit
the seat but it was fine. Overall not bad but great for the price.

After our flight on Spirit to Las Vegas from Denver, we decided to never fly Spirit again, even if the flights
were cheaper. Our decision was based mostly on how uncomfortably crowded we felt on the flight. I am 6
feet with relatively long legs. My legs would not fit in the row. I had an aisle seat so I could place my knees
in the aisle when possible. I took advantage of the $9 fare club and paid $59.95 to join. Beware of joining
the Spirit $9 Fare Club. You must cancel your membership or you will be automatically renewed.

4/11/13 my son-law and I were due to fly on Ft #174 from FLL to NY La Guardia to depart at 4.02pm.
Needless to say boarding started approximately at 4.15pm and the things got progressively worse from then
on. On the plane at the gate and told we can not take off due to clouds and wind in NY. 3.5 hrs later still
sitting on the plane at the gate sitting in very uncomfortable seats. Then announced that the co-pilot could
not remain on the plane as he would be over his flying hours. We proceeded to get off the flight after 4 hrs of
waiting and then they had no idea how to provide a voucher for us. All they did offer was a 6 oz bottle of
water after 3 hrs. I will never attempt to fly or ever recommend this airline. An experience I will never forget,
especially during this stressful time.

We flew into Ft Lauderdale in February 2013. Received phone call telling us Spirit was overbooked on return
flight. Seven of us volunteered to come home early and spirit would issue vouchers to compensate for
inconvenience. Don't fall for this incentive. The vouchers were supposed to be $500 a piece. They ended up
with so many restrictions that they were hardly worth anything. Had to be used within 60 days, only covered
base fare, only used on certain flights etc. Spirit takes advantage of customers and really does not care
about its customers.

Round trip flight. When I left Houston, Texas, flight was delayed 1.5 hours. Return flight was delayed 6
hours. I left DFW airport in a cab at 12 am because there were no staff available to answer the most basic
questions. I was lucky enough to get a room and stay the night. The next day, I flew out on Southwest
Airlines. The bag fees are ridiculous. The plane was hot and smelt. The counter help at DFW was
unprofessional. They were not helpful with even the most basic questions and they were understaffed.

We flew for the first time for a quick weekend trip from Denver to Las Vegas, attracted by the low base ticket
prices. It was a mistake I will not make again. By the time all of the extra fees had been incorporated the
tickets were just as expensive as flying on a different airline, and the experience as a whole was terrible. The
plane was uncomfortable and dirty, and you have to pay for all refreshments (even water). My 5'2 frame
barely fit in the seat, leaving no hope of comfort for my 6'3 partner. The return flight from Vegas was
continually delayed, and when we were finally cleared for take-off they had to repeatedly page the missing-
in-action flight crew to return from dinner before we could re-board the plane. The airline clearly has no
regard for customer comfort or satisfaction - I will never fly on Spirit again, and unfortunately I'm sure they
couldn't care less.

Spirit tricks you with a low initial fare price but charges fees on everything including carry on bags, check
bags, choosing a seat, counter service at airport. They have a 40 lbs bag limit (10 pounds lower than other
airlines) and you get charged, of course, for going over. The flight has no entertainment whatsoever and
charges you for snacks and drinks (including water). After all the hidden fees they are no cheaper than other
airlines and have less services. Our flight was late to leave Ft Lauderdale. Then they over booked it and it
was delayed longer when they asked a stand-by passenger to get off the plane. Spirit was the worst overall
flight experience I have had as a casual airline customer. Never again!

My son flew with his father to Dallas. He's a thin 14 year old. His chief complaint was that there was
absolutely zero room once he sat down. His father was dumbfounded when he found out that he would be
spending an extra 250 dollars to transport their belongings (for the fights to and from). The moral of the
story is to first read the reviews, and read the fine print on the website. Spirit is very much upfront about
the additional charges for carry on luggage and checked in luggage. I'm shocked they would prefer a one time
customer to returning customers.
