  can be hit and miss but always worked for me so far

LGW-TLS-LGW Used easyJet Plus which includes speedy boarding and express check in which is a god-send at Gatwick where the normal queues are horrendous. Boarded first, got a great seat and same on the way back. I think for any flight where you're bussed to the aircraft it can be a bit hit and miss, but always worked for me so far!

  I got the exit row seats I wanted

I have used speedy boarding several times and have found it great each time. On our return from Rome they used buses to board us, and speedy boarders and special assistance passengers all boarded onto a bus and taken out to the plane first, I got the exit row seats I wanted.

  once on the bus it's every man for themselves

I fly regularly to Faro, Portugal. The latest was on the 26 April returning on the 5 May to and from Luton. I think easyJet should take a hard look at "speedy boarding " procedures. It seems incredible that we paid for two people both ways and yet passengers who had not carried SB boarding cards can board before we did - by merely blocking the bus exit with their hand luggage and having the pick of the seats. You are invited to board the bus first but that's your lot. Once on the bus it's every man for themselves. If you are asking SB passengers to board the bus first then there should be some barrier to allow them to exit first.

  a complete rip-off

Barcelona to LGW - no call for Speedy Boarders, had to make our way to front, feeling guilty for having to jump the queue! Only to find we were being carted onto busses... first on the bus, last off. Therefore last on the plane. Told by the steward we would get a refund - now found out this is a total lie and probably said to keep us quiet. A complete rip-off and I cannot believe EasyJet are getting away with taking money for a service that doesn't exist in total.

  what was the use of speedy boarding

Having travelled with easy jet on several occasions I was very disappointed with our journey from Lisbon to Luton last Wednesday. My husband and I are pensioners and always pay for speedy boarding to allow us to board the aircraft comfortably. We paid for speedy boarding on this occasion and were first through the gate at Lisbon but then we were all hoarded onto a coarch and it was every man for himself so what was the use of speedy boarding? How does one contact easy jet to complain?

  Speedy boarding is a poor service and a waste of money

Arrived at Stansted where the dedicated checkin queue for speedy boarding was just as long as the queue for normal checkin. Only 1 of 2 desks open. Promptly pass through boarding gate to aircraft, only to have to wait for about 10 minutes in a dank, smelly corridor as the aircraft isn't actually ready to be boarded. Speedy boarding is a poor service and a waste of money.

  it seems that it doesn't work well for the majority

LGW-Tenerife return. Speedy Boarding is only as good as the staff operating it on the day. Some are sensible enough to know that when you've paid for a service, you expect to get it. We had no problems with SB on our flights, but I would not use Easyjet again simply because of the non allocation of seats. I want to be sure of a good seat because both my husband and myself are quite tall and with Easyjet it's all guesswork. Rated as fair on this occasion because although it worked for us, it seems that it doesn't work well for the majority.

  why don't easyJet accept that this scam is a failure

East Midlands - Venice return. Is anyone surprised that boarding resembled a rugby scrum? At Venice they used a bus, so those who paid for Speedy Boarding got through the gate first, but not first onto the aircraft, a total waste or their money. Why don't easyJet accept that this scam is a failure, and go back to boarding by groups A-D according to check-in time?

  able to obtain seats on Row 1 for 3 flights

Belfast-Bristol-Berlin return. My wife, son and I were able to obtain seats on Row 1 DEF for the three flights. If a bus had been required to take us to the aircraft it would have been a different matter.

  fraudulent use of paying customer's money

Speedy boarding not provided on our flight, all the families without SB called first and we were told to stand and wait. Therefore we requested our money back; I was refused and told 'you'll understand when you're a Mum'! When I asked for her name I was told 'I'm not giving it to you, write and complain if you like, I don't care.' Great attitude. As per someone else's comment here, gone for Small Claims, it's the only way. Fraudulent use of paying customer's money to take money for an advertised service, refuse to provide the service, be rude and offensive to the customer, then refuse to refund the money. Don't let them keep on doing this, demand your money back if they fail to provide the service for which you have paid. On this basis we are refusing to use easyJet again and have told everyone we know. I do not expect to be spoken to like that by a staff member and I do not expect to pay for a service and not receive it, or a refund. My precious holiday time is too valuable to be treated like this. Appallingly bad customer service.

  passengers seem to behave like a bunch of school kids

Paid for the so called speedy boarding but still had to battle for a decent seat with loads of leg room. The passengers seemed to behave like a bunch of school kids on a day trip clammering for the back seat on the school coach. Easyjet should include allocated seating for the speedy boarding fee, Surely it wouldn't take much extra effort of cost to do so ? Then we would feel like we had received something for our money and maybe train their check in staff abroad how to control the system as the experience my partner and I had to endure in Crete was unacceptable. By the time you've added all the extra charges like speedy boarding and luggage fees then it would have actually worked out cheaper to fly with one of the competitors.

Just got back from Cyprus, and can say that Speedy Boarding does not work at Paphos airport. There are serious problems at the departure section. No announcement was made for speedy boarders, and when asked why, we were told by the female in charge that there had been one. Not true, no one on the flight heard it - because there just wasn't an announcement.

  Excellent both ways

NCL-PMI-NCL. Excellent both ways. We were first on and off the plane in both directions. If you only have hand luggage its the way to go. We were out of the airport in less than 10 minutes.

  let a few people onto the bus at the front which was a bit stupid

Gatwick and Faro. Booked speedy boarding and it worked well for us. Straight onboard at Gatwick with no hitch, at Faro the same - onto the SB bus with aircraft boarding only allowed from the front of the bus. They did let a few of people onto the bus at the front which was a bit stupid as it was packed already and the mouthy one's were soon shouting. However we would prefer allocated seat arrangement as its stops the worst coming out of people.

  biggest plus for us was speedy check in at Stansted

Stansted / Naples return. Speedy boarding outbound was excellent, priority check in meant 20 mins queue instead of probably 1 hour. The staff member at gate was excellent - she firmly held back a large crowd with A and B boarding passes trying to board with speedy boarders SB tickets - insisting that no others got through gate. Inbound not so good - although Speedy boarding signs up - everyone went through same check in, although girl did call for SB first. On bus to plane at Naples only speedyboarders and a few normal tickets were on first bus - so we did get good choice of seats. The biggest plus for us was speedy check in at Stansted.

  vote with wallet and refuse to pay for something easyJet fail to deliver

Suffered same as J Edwards below at Bristol. Paid for Speedy Boarding, called into boarding gate doorway, and allowed to board bus first. Driver told us to stand by front left door for priority boarding, but then drove up to plane and opened the rear right bus door - last onto the plane along with the others who had "paid" for Speedy Boarding. It's time for passengers to vote with their wallet, and refuse to pay for something that easyJet fail to deliver - and, yes I agree it is a complete sham, at Bristol Airport especially.

  just behave like an idiot and it'll save you money seemingly

I used Speedy Boarding on flights Belfast-Luton and Gatwick-Belfast and Speedy Boarders got on first. My gripe is that on the Gatwick flight some idiot with a child tried to board with the Speedy Boarders with a standard ticket - when he was turned away kicked up such a fuss he was let on. So don't pay your extra £10 folks - just behave like an idiot and it'll save you money seemingly!

Newcastle-Palma. At departure gate SB was called and no one at all went forward, if we all rejected paying £7.50 for this 'service' perhaps it would stop and we would be boarded with earliest check in first.

  It works for me

Gatwick to Mykonos - agent at the gate stood his ground only letting Speedy Boarding passengers through first saying "those that pay do, those that don't pay have to wait". Straight onboard and into emergency exit row. Return, Speedy Boarding passengers called through first - we pushed passed the scrum only to find that we were to be bussed to the plane. About 12 of us waited on the bus, doors were closed and we were taken to the plane to board at our leisure. It works for me!

  when they use a bus it all falls apart

When they use a bus it all falls apart. At Luton last week, the boarding agent instructed speedy boarders to stand at the front of the bus as they would be let off first. The front door ended up at the rear door of the plane and the bus driver opened all the doors at the same time. As easyJet pay the bus company you would think they could tell them what they had to do and if they did that they could go a long way to solving the SB/buses problem.

  speedy boarding a complete joke

Speedy boarding and free for all seating are a complete joke. Flew to Barcelona from Luton recently on EJ and paid speedy boarding, queued in the right place then hoarded onto a bus where everybody clusters around the exit doors. When the doors open it is a disgusting free for all, no holds barred, rule of the sea abandoned melee. When I eventually got on the aircraft I noticed that couples were sitting in the window and aisle seats leaving the middle free thereby deterring any other singles from sitting in the middle. When the flight took off the couples moved into the window and middle seat and stretched out!

  it is a total waste of your cash

Have tried speed boarding, and it is a total waste of your cash as we were pushed to the back. Will never use it again - would be better if seats were allocated on a first come first served booking.

  easyJet Speedy Boarding is a complete sham

A complete farce and represented fraudulent appropriation of customer funds by easyJet. PAX called in departure lounge, and PA does invite those that have paid for Speedy Boarding to progress through boarding pass checks first - that is where the priority service ends. Waited in doorway for 10 minutes before bus arrives - all passengers pile into bus, and Speedy Boarders ended up squashed into a corner of the bus that was one of the last to vacate and board the aircraft. On return flight, staff at Marseille did respect Speedy Boarding but this service at Bristol airport is a complete sham. And will easyJet refund money they were so quick to take for a dishonored service promise - not likely! Best advice is for ALL passengers to make a stand (be it easyJet, Ryanair etc) and NOT to pay for such boarding services, since they are a complete waste of time and money.
