First time and last time I use Brussels Airlines. I didn't know Brussels Airlines was just
another low cost airline but at the price of a regular flight. Seats on Brussels Airlines are
very uncomfortable and no leg room. Unfriendly flight attendants and you have to pay for
everything even water. I feel I have been fooled since I booked on Alitalia but due to the
codeshare had to fly with Brussels Airlines. Totally different comfort and service on the
return journey with Alitalia. Can't understand why this discrepancy.

Copenhagen - Brussels - Copenhagen. Check-in in Copenhagen and Brussels went smooth. The
aircraft was an Avro RJ85 with it's 2-3 configuration. The seat was comfortable and plenty of
legroom. The flight was with no frills, food and drinks had to be paid for. Cabin crew was
nice and smiling.

Brussels-Athens return B-Flex. A bit late, service OK, old plane, food just average. I used to
like the concept of B-Flex, offering some good comfort like the 30 kilos and 2 bags allowance,
middle seat free when not fully booked, preferred check-in, and the food. Unfortunately some
bean counters have passed and decided to cut costs. In addition, they have decided to go have
a full Business - I really wonder why: they say it is for their codeshare partners, but before
or after a long haul flight nobody needs more gourmet food and champagne. Also, the funny
thing is that they will put the Business Class on the front seat, where the armrest cannot be
lifted. But what I do not like, as experienced in my flight, is that they start to remove the
frills from the B-Flex : food is not usual bland economy, no more good beer, and I even read
that they reduced the baggage allowance to 20 kilos. Basically, the B-Flex is now classical
economy, and it is back to old-style Business (Business class fares, but in narrow seats and
no TV). I find it very poor strategic decision.

I've used SN a lot over the years, mostly MAD-BRU, & it's a good no frills service.
Punctuality acceptable to good, though I have had some serious delays on rare occasions (max:
2hours, but that was down to weather). Mind you they schedule a 2hr flight as taking 2hr 20 or
more. Good deals available on this airline, as are fairly-priced one way tickets. The cabin
crew are efficient & personable enough, & on the cheaper tickets you can buy sandwiches etc
(though I never bother); on the more expensive tickets you get an ok meal & a drink (including
wine or beer).

BRU-BCN-BRU B-Light Class. On time departures and ahead of schedule arrivals on both legs. A
no frills but reliable airline and with good deals. The inflight "menu" is limited and could
be extended , pricing is ok.

TXL-BRU return in b-light economy, which is a restricted no-frills economy class. Flight was
operated with a not too new Avro RJ100. Seating is 2-3, both in economy and business class.
Seats are the same in both classes. They are all a bit worn, sometimes a bit damaged and
recline a bit more then they should. Seat pitch okay, recline good and our flight was only
half full, which means a free neighbour seat for everyone. Service was very good, though it
was a no frills flight. Cabin attendants friendly and helpful. Very good value for a very
cheap price.

ATH-BRU-MAN. We booked through expedia that on the ticket stated refreshments included. We
had no euros left and therefore had to do without anything to eat or drink until Brussels. If
I had wanted a no-frills flight I would have booked Easyjet which is far cheaper. The
seating was cramped. A fair experience as the flight was punctual and despite a very tight
change our bags made it.

Economy and Business have exactly the same seating, seat pitch etc. This is why the number of rows
can be varied to allow for different bookings on their flights. The only difference is the
"freebies", breakfast/lunch and newspapers.

BRU-LIS return. Professional and friendly crew and on return flight exceptional crew, working as a
close team with great results towards the passengers. Old B737 aircraft but still quite comfortable.
I am glad that most of the B737 crews are improving their skills towards the passengers. Flight to
Lisbon +/- 50 mins delay while the return flight landed about 20 mins too early. Would fly them
again when they are cheap!

Venice-Brussels BLight. Space between seats is very tight and uncomfortable for PAX that are 180cm
or over. The service if you want anything is pay as you go, but this is a low cost flight and you
get what you pay for. It is a bare bones service and operation. Overall the flight was just ok - but
I had an exit row seat, with no one in front of me. The aircraft was looking tired, but clean. The
FA's were good. I did not utilise the food offerings, so cannot comment. One real gripe was the time
to check-in in Venice. It took 1:20min? That is bad by any standards. Would I fly them again? If I
had a better choice on the route I wanted to take, then I would take the other option.

A330 Bru-Dla was looking old. Stafs very helpful, inside clean. On my way back the A330 was looking
new, inside very clean staff were also nice to the passengers. Economy class too small room for
passengers. I travel with SN Brussels because they are punctual.

NCL-BRU-DKR-BRU-MAN. Flew B-flex. Service brilliant. Although B-flex on European flights is more
or less economy, I found the only difference between this and the other scheduled European airlines
was no curtain to seperate b-flex and b-lite. This was not an issue, because if you fly BA/SK/AF
you generally find not much difference in business and economy seats anyway. Flight to Dakar was
Business class. Seat was very comfortable, food brilliant, and got a good few hours sleep. Very
Impressed with SN. Would fly again, and recommend to anyone travelling to Africa.

We had a very enjoyable flight from Madrid to Brussels, nice cabin crew, easy check in, not a
complaint. Very affordable as well.

Brussels-Krakau return. Very good price/quality on both flights. All flights on time. Crew more
professional on the Avrojets then on B737 is my experience. Food (to buy) tasty and not too
expensive when compared with other airlines. All in all a good experience.

Brussels-Frankfurt. The flight was not full but more passengers in B-light than b-flex because this
flight is more popular by business people than holiday travellers. We flew B-light that means that
onboard the drinks and food were on purchase. The crew onboard and at the check-in was friendly and
professional.

Madrid-Brussels. We missed our initial flight of 12.10 pm MAD-BRU because of an unexpected delay of
six hours with Air Comet in Santiago de Chile. Our'Brussels Airlines B-light ticket gave us no right
for a seat in the evening flight to Brussels, but staff booked us anyway and for free to this flight
which would cost us another 360 EUR per person. A fantastic and generous offer of a small but
wonderful airline!

Manchester-Brussels. I choose Brussels Airlines because on a notoriously expensive route they are
slightly better than Flybe - even though they fly old planes, they are normally on time and the
cabin staff are fairly good and service is OK. Not yesterday though. FA welcoming announcements
broken up by giggles and laughter - unprofessional - by the time she got to Dutch she gave up.
Service slow - particularly in B Flex - pitiful meal, offered one drink (after economy had been
served). There is no logical reason to pay for an expensive BFlex (business) ticket - which OK is
changeable but you have the exact same seating in economy - and poor food/drink. Best to buy the
cheapest ticket and buy (if you have to) on board snacks.

Brussels - Barcelona (return), cheap fare, drinks and snack at reasonable prices, friendly check-in
and cabin staff polite. No pilot information - not a word on both flights. Plane was clean. They fly
you from A to B for cheap fare if you book well in advance.

BRU-GVA-BRU bflex and b-light. There is no seat difference. Only you buy your own food & drink &
newspapers if seated in b-light ! This airline has become a low cost one, in a very short period of time!

BGY-BRU A319 b.light. I travel frequently for business and am used to the no-frills airlines but
this was one of the worst flying experiences I had. To start with the flight was over three hours
late. I tried to overlook this as I was tired and I just wanted to get home. But this was just the
tip of the iceberg. Inside, the service was terrible. I had to 'excuse me miss' to the stewardess
five times before some one came my way. The food/drinks are not free anymore and you have to pay 50
Euros to get complimentary food and drinks (by the way, the food is served in a box!). I just got a
bottle of water for a euro and apparently if you are not a b.flex customer (where you get
complimentary food/drinks) they treat you like a burden and dont really care. Seats were tight with
no leg room, seems like they cut that in half!. My conclusion is, if you are looking 'just' for a
seat and dont mind anything else, then go for it. I personally would never fly with them again.

NCE-BRU b-flex. They call it Economy+, but I prefer normal economy from another company (LH for
example). The food is the same as 6 months ago, no change at all. Very friendly staff, but that's
the same as in b-light! Seat preferences are not respected. No lounge access, don't know why people
still choose this airline in b-flex.

BRU-GEN on 737-400. Since merger between Brussels and Virgin, Brussels Airlines is definitively
becoming a low-cost airline with average service and cramped seats on 737, no more business class
(cheaper premium economy), very old fleet of BAE and 737-400. No more complementary food and drinks,
prices on the upside except for promotions, poor frequent flyer programme, online booking suffers
from time to time from glitches. No more competition on same routes between the 2 former carriers
which has clearly resulted into reduced offer and higher prices. Pity, since Brussels is a regional
hub. Apparently, despite unique flag for the company, crew from Virgin and SN Brussels are not
flying together - have the feeling that if you fly with former virgin crew, quality of service is
lower. Overall; mixed impression with Brussels; however, the crew can be nice and their
punctuality among the best.

I frequently fly on the Geneva-Brussles route in B.light. Flights usually on time but aircraft are
very old (ex-Boeing 737 from Virgin Express), no legroom at all and the selection of the
snacks/drinks for sale is poor. If you want to buy something, don't forget to have Euros as only
euros are accepted.

Bru-Oslo B.Flex, as there was little price difference with B.Light for that particular flight. The
booking website is efficient. The self check-in machine worked well. The AVRO are claustrophobic,
and the first row has no legroom at all. Food was good, you can have a beer, but this is no
champagne business class (price is not expensive either). Service was friendly and flight was on-
time. No complaints for a short flight but still a bit expensive for the legroom.

and comfortable. Flight on time.

MAN-BRU return. B-Light BAe 146 family both ways. A reasonable performance from SN messed up by
others. Significant ATC delays at Manchester outbound: 'heavy traffic' at 2130 GMT? And needless to
say Manchester didn't disappoint inbound - no-one available to operate the airbridge for nearly ten
minutes. It was probably SN's mistake caused by arriving on time - Manchester expects others to live
to its own poor standards and can't cope when they don't.

25 February 2008 Customer Trip Rating :
CPH-BRU-CPH in b.flex. Brussels Airlines market this as economy+, so don't expect a Business Class
experince - but again, you only pay half AF/SK C class fare on this route. Food of great quality (a
warm meal) and drink service unlimited. Perfect for a 1,5 hour flight!

21 February 2008 Customer Trip Rating :
SN Brussels Airlines was very good. Since the merger with Virgin and the re-branding into Brussels
Airlines, the airline is going down the drain. Tries to take customers away from low-cost airlines
with new ticketing strategy. In b-light you get the same service as a low-cost carrier (none), but
ticket prices are higher. Seats are very close to each other. No legroom in b-light for relatively
tall people (I'm 1m90). No food service. You have to buy - but no sandwiches on board (this
happened to me on 2 different flights). In b-flex service is better and there is also more legroom,
but ticket prices are ridiculously high. A return flight Brussels-Bologna (takes about 90 minutes)
can cost up to almost €700.

15 February 2008 Customer Trip Rating :
I flew 25 round trips with Brussels airlines in 2007, in both BLight and BFlex. This airline
benefits of great onboard staff. No problem with check in. AVROs are old and pitiful. The seats are
broken, and covered by cracked leather. Some aircraft have been recently (cheaply) revamped; the
seats received new leather but were not repaired mechanically when necessary; the backseat remains
frequently wobbly and unstable. The customer service is appalling, as reported already, your call
can remain on hold more than 15 minutes (0.75€/min) and finally be rejected. Blight and Bflex are
not much different, though, food served in Bflex is healthy (salad) and fairly good. Newspapers are
offered but if you’re traveling in the evening, it’s likely that they won’t have any more (even if
they still have 20 for sale in Blight, they can’t give them for free in BFlex - incredible but
real). Some details are deplorable - coffee used to be good, now its terrible : chocolates offered,
used to be Neuhaus, now they are cheap, unbranded chocolates. Privilège program : believe it or not,
with 50 (one way) flights in Europe plus several long hauls with partner airlines, plus frequent use
of car rental and credit card status partners in a year, I’ve just been able to achieve the Gold
status - yesterday. Really the major advantage of Brussels Airlines is to have a strong European
network based in Brussels and when you fly from a Belgian base it's the only coherent option.

BRU-THF-BRU. 11,00 Euros flights + taxes. Clean and confortable Avro 85. No services. Expected
simple transport between the two capitals, nothing less, nothing more. Both flights on time. Load
factor quite good on both flights.

FCO-BRU-FCO Avro. Departed on time, very good meals, kind cabin crew and comfortable seats. Return
leg slightly delayed due to weather conditions, however another enjoyable flight. Price was OK.

16 December 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
Brussels-Berlin THF. Brussels Airlines is really dissapointing. The old airplanes look even older
with the new cheap headrest with awful colors and cabin attendants uniforms look cheap. No service
in economy except if you are willing to pay even for a newspaper. Boring flight. The good thing is
landing at THF this great old fashioned airport close to the city center.
Brussels Airlines review - by N Barnsley
12 December 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
MAD-BRU-MAD. On time both ways, but very old and cramped 737s. Limited but reasonably priced
inflight catering and friendly FAs.
Brussels Airlines review - by P Roberts
4 December 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
BRU-MAN-BRU. Out on an ageing 146 delayed on the way back on an ageing RJ 85. Crew are efficient and
professional, flights usually on time - and the food (to buy in b.Light) is not bad. Low fares on
this route have virtually vanished. I will continue to use Brussels Airlines - if only they could
afford to buy some new planes.
