NCE-BRU b-flex. They call it Economy+, but I prefer normal economy from another company (LH for
example). The food is the same as 6 months ago, no change at all. Very friendly staff, but that's
the same as in b-light! Seat preferences are not respected. No lounge access, don't know why people
still choose this airline in b-flex.

BRU-GEN on 737-400. Since merger between Brussels and Virgin, Brussels Airlines is definitively
becoming a low-cost airline with average service and cramped seats on 737, no more business class
(cheaper premium economy), very old fleet of BAE and 737-400. No more complementary food and drinks,
prices on the upside except for promotions, poor frequent flyer programme, online booking suffers
from time to time from glitches. No more competition on same routes between the 2 former carriers
which has clearly resulted into reduced offer and higher prices. Pity, since Brussels is a regional
hub. Apparently, despite unique flag for the company, crew from Virgin and SN Brussels are not
flying together - have the feeling that if you fly with former virgin crew, quality of service is
lower. Overall; mixed impression with Brussels; however, the crew can be nice and their
punctuality among the best.

I frequently fly on the Geneva-Brussles route in B.light. Flights usually on time but aircraft are
very old (ex-Boeing 737 from Virgin Express), no legroom at all and the selection of the
snacks/drinks for sale is poor. If you want to buy something, don't forget to have Euros as only
euros are accepted.

Bru-Oslo B.Flex, as there was little price difference with B.Light for that particular flight. The
booking website is efficient. The self check-in machine worked well. The AVRO are claustrophobic,
and the first row has no legroom at all. Food was good, you can have a beer, but this is no
champagne business class (price is not expensive either). Service was friendly and flight was on-
time. No complaints for a short flight but still a bit expensive for the legroom.

MAN-BRU return. B-Light BAe 146 family both ways. A reasonable performance from SN messed up by
others. Significant ATC delays at Manchester outbound: 'heavy traffic' at 2130 GMT? And needless to
say Manchester didn't disappoint inbound - no-one available to operate the airbridge for nearly ten
minutes. It was probably SN's mistake caused by arriving on time - Manchester expects others to live
to its own poor standards and can't cope when they don't.

CPH-BRU-CPH in b.flex. Brussels Airlines market this as economy+, so don't expect a Business Class

21 February 2008 Customer Trip Rating :
SN Brussels Airlines was very good. Since the merger with Virgin and the re-branding into Brussels
Airlines, the airline is going down the drain. Tries to take customers away from low-cost airlines
with new ticketing strategy. In b-light you get the same service as a low-cost carrier (none), but
ticket prices are higher. Seats are very close to each other. No legroom in b-light for relatively
tall people (I'm 1m90). No food service. You have to buy - but no sandwiches on board (this
happened to me on 2 different flights). In b-flex service is better and there is also more legroom,
but ticket prices are ridiculously high. A return flight Brussels-Bologna (takes about 90 minutes)
can cost up to almost €700.

15 February 2008 Customer Trip Rating :
I flew 25 round trips with Brussels airlines in 2007, in both BLight and BFlex. This airline
benefits of great onboard staff. No problem with check in. AVROs are old and pitiful. The seats are
broken, and covered by cracked leather. Some aircraft have been recently (cheaply) revamped; the
seats received new leather but were not repaired mechanically when necessary; the backseat remains
frequently wobbly and unstable. The customer service is appalling, as reported already, your call
can remain on hold more than 15 minutes (0.75€/min) and finally be rejected. Blight and Bflex are
not much different, though, food served in Bflex is healthy (salad) and fairly good. Newspapers are
offered but if you’re traveling in the evening, it’s likely that they won’t have any more (even if
they still have 20 for sale in Blight, they can’t give them for free in BFlex - incredible but
real). Some details are deplorable - coffee used to be good, now its terrible : chocolates offered,
used to be Neuhaus, now they are cheap, unbranded chocolates. Privilège program : believe it or not,
with 50 (one way) flights in Europe plus several long hauls with partner airlines, plus frequent use
of car rental and credit card status partners in a year, I’ve just been able to achieve the Gold
status - yesterday. Really the major advantage of Brussels Airlines is to have a strong European
network based in Brussels and when you fly from a Belgian base it's the only coherent option.

BHX-BRU BLight in a RJ85. Pay for food and drinks were acceptable. Only small problem was on arrival
the plane was positioned at the Schengen pier, resulting in the usual bus-trip. Why the bus drop off

it did ensure that passengers and luggage arrived in the reclaim area at the same time!

BRU-MAN Economy. Not due to be flying with them but due to a late departing BA LHR flight meant I
would have missed my connecting flight to MAN, so BA transferred me to this direct flight. Plane an
elderly RJ85 - seats not very comfortable but a smooth flight - food and drinks to pay for, though
towards the end of the flight the cabin crew came around with belgian chocolates - a welcome
surprise. No other complications and good friendly service from the cabin crew - the flight of

Kinshasa-Brussels-Geneva in Business. A good overall experience. The seats were comfortable on the
A330- not completely lie flat so tend to slip down. Can't comment on meal as tried to sleep through
the overnight flight. The crew were attentive, friendly and polite without being over the top.
Regular drink runs and one good thing was the basket of fresh fruits available throughout the
flight. Missed connection at Brussels due to late arrival. No signage at the airport on where the
transfer desks are, got lost trying to locate them. Eventually airport staff assisted me in this.
The business lounge at the airport handled the rebooking professionally and politely. Enjoyed the
lounge, quiet and comfortable. Overall a good experience.

I took a friend to Geneve airport. He had to pay for overweight only because he purchased a ticket in
two parts ie Kinshasa-Brussels and Brussels-Geneva return. One the first leg he is allowed 50 kg on
the second only 20! The odd reasoning is that if it would have been one single ticket he would have
been allowed 50 Kg! (Something the Kinshasha office could not manage to book for him anyway.)
I paid 420 Sfr for this on his return in Geneva airport. I filed a claim on email and sent registered
letter, more than 3 weeks ago, never got an answer!

BRU-HEL: perfect, old SN style. Nice food, excellent crew. Please go back to this initial concept
(which is on the HEL route, and very good!). Passengers don't seem to appreciate the
"light" and "flex" concept on other routes. Personally I hate the new style and it seems I am not
the only one. HEL-BRU: on line check in did not work. Same problems as I experienced earlier in
other countries for other flights to Brussels. Seems as on line BRU check in works well, but not in
other countries. Flight in HEL cancelled and rebooked on AY flight, delay 3 hours. No information about the reason (staff in HEL said they got no
information from Brussels; internet information mentions lack of flight crew). Br airlines should
review its new concept, if not passengers will go away.

Used many times over the years, usually BRS-BRU or return. I cannot really complain about
punctuality recently, and the seats are fine for a flight of about an hour. My complaint (as with
others before) is the deteriorating standard of 'service' with no real change in price. B Light is a
seat and that's it. I do not really care about food on such a short flight and refuse to pay extra
for it. Last time I very openly unwrapped sandwiches I had made myself and ate them as the trolley
went round. Good quality and far cheaper - I recommend it. If enough people do it, perhaps the
airlines will take the hint. Unfortunately taking your own drink is more difficult with security
checks, but you can buy water and soft drinks in most airports after the check.

BRU-MAN B-Light, BAe146. Self check-in at airport worked well, but why I then had to queue to show my
boarding pass to a man before I could go to bag-drop is a mystery. On-time flight, but messed up by
MAN airport who couldn't get the airbridge to work so we stayed at the arrival gate for 25 mins before
disembarking. I thought BAe146 had their own stairs we could have used. And then of course a long wait
for luggage - normal for Manchester - but it arrived before the 'target' time - which wouldn't be hard
when you look how loose the 'target' is. Regrettably B-Light with Brussels Airlines is a significant
deterioration in service from the old economy in SN Brussels, but no reduction in fares as far as I
can see - quite often the opposite.

BLight and BFlex (BRU-LIS, TLS, MAD, etc). I agree with previous posters. The new concept and
organisation is a disaster. I experienced numerous problems: internet check-in unavailable or chaotic,
check in at airport also chaotic. The service in B light is low cost (prices are not always), service
in B Flex is basic. Seating is as normal economy of other companies (prices are much higher!). Only
acceptable if flexibility is important for you, do not expect great service. Onboard staff is
wonderful though. Pity this company spoils its big assets, SN Brussels was a very good company!
Privilege center by phone is unavailable after 30 min waiting time, and paying 0,75 € per minute (your
call is important to us - are they joking?). Have been loyal, but would not recommend this airline

BRU-LGW in B Light (Economy). Are there any airlines left that provide free beverages on routes to
and from Brussels? Check in was easy, using the self check in terminal, and baggage drop was fast,
however I couldn't check in for my connecting flight to Manchester even though the flight was BA
codeshare and the connecting flight was BA. I could, however, check my baggage all the way through
which made life a little easier. Aircraft was an RJ-85 which could do with a refit as the interior
was a little tatty, but the seats were comfortable enough and the staff were friendly so my only real
complaint with this flight was the lack of free refreshments. I will continue to look for an airline
that offers this before flying with Brussels Airlines again.

BRU-TLS return in B Light. Very disappointing the new concept of Brussels Airlines. Staff is nice and

BRU-FAO, LIS-BRU. Very frustrated with Brussels Airlines. Unless you

Make sure you check-in online: check-in at BRU is chaotic (one hour-long
line) and SN staff seem to know nothing. Onboard is fine - no service to

Brussels-Athens-Brussels in b.flex I agree with mail of Robin De
Paepe. These were the first flights with the new version of SN. A
disaster. The impression that they took the worst of both low-cost and
regular airlines. Old planes, poor seats, food in boxes, no access to
lounges. Leaving Brussels we were delayed for more than 3 hours, (by a
strike in Greece?) no compensation was offered, you should expect to be
invited in the lounges ( I had to pay with miles), departing at 1 pm
instead of 9 am we received onboard a breakfast. I had to take both ways
a connecting flight to Heraklion (Aegean) it was impossible to have our
baggage transferred; we had to recover them in Athens, carry them to
upper-floor and check-in again. Crew was friendly. Poor good old
Sabena!

BRU-MAD and back. Although the service on the "new" Brussels Airlines is
not that bad, at least in b-fle , I think back with some nostalgic
feeling about the old days with SN Brussels, where Business Class was
still existing, meals were not being served in a cardbord box and for
those who were quite tall it was very easy to book a seat where they got
plenty of legroom, not to forget the free access to the lounges. Where
being lower than Gold Membership you now have to pay €15 to get allowed
and getting 1250 instead of 2000 status miles for your European flights.
Only time will tell if the "new" concept combining best (?) of SN
Brussels and Virgin will fit more for the daily tourist or for the
business traveler, more frequently being part to the last group I myself
however have already made up my mind where possible.

I rencently flew from GVA to BRU in bflex (award). I was very disappointed. I think the flight are
really outpriced for what you have (price is about 300 € one way in bflex).
Boarding was delayed first by 10 min, then by another 10 min, then again... We finally left with
more than 30 min delay without any excuse or reason given by the crew.
Plane was an old 737-300 from Virgin Express. Although I sat on seat 2F (first row), it was
EXTREMELY uncomfortable, because arm rest can be removed, and the table is inside (so it is larger
than it should). Food was really disappointing, just a salad with some tuna. Of course flight is not
very long, but if you compare the price and the service, it is extremely bad. For the price, you
also have to pay an extra fee if you want to visit the lounge. Of course champagne is no lounger
on board. The "Magic curtain" was not working either.Crew was however helpful and smiling. I am
really disappointed by their new product, where you have the choice of paying much for no service,
or pay a fortune for flexibility and some (bad) service. Why can you not pay the right price for
some good service (and have a decent seat) without paying for flexibility ?

BRU-CPH-BRU: Brussels Airlines stepped away from the classic
economy/business configuration and introduced b.light as an alternative
for economy and b.flex as an alternative for business. b.light is
promoted with very cheap all inclusive fares but with the first flight I
wanted to book fares were extremely expensive even more expensive than
what they used to be when the company still flew under the SN Brussels
Airlines flag. For the now more expensive b.light fare you even get less
service (e.g. no free drink or a free snack). Since the b.light flights
were that expensive I checked the b.flex fares and to my surprise b.flex
fares were only 1 Euro more! For that 1 Euro you get a refundable
ticket, extra luggage allowance, a free newspaper, a free meal, free
drinks and 5 times the amount of frequent flyer miles. Since I had to
visit my supplier I booked the 1 Euro more expensive b.flex fare as it
offered more value. As drinks were free and champagne was on the drinks
list I asked champagne. Crew immediately excused they didn’t have
champagne on board… food was OK but not really that much better compared
to what it used to be on SN Brussels Airlines in Economy. I have some
mixed feelings about the new airline where in the past SN Brussels
Airlines was overall good value the new Brussels Airlines seems to be
pulling back their standards to a low cost airline with still
high/expensive fares.

the fact that it was the only line flying this route non-stop. Plane

BHX-BRU-in BLight (an unfortunate word in English!) On-time departure in

Quick luggage retrieval at BRU. As others have commented all catering in
the back was to purchase, and no-one seemed to be buying - so relatively
little for FAs to do. I hope that the new airline doesn't get dragged

job.

BRU-HKI: self-check-in using the airport computer was an absolute mess.
Could check myself in, but not my 2 year old son because the name on my
VISA card doesn't match his. The computer just froze - the software is a
joke. There is a "luggage drop" desk but actually you can't check
yourself in if you have luggage. This information is not available
anywhere so it's trial and error on the spot: not even any of the
hostesses is able to help, they just recommend that you join the regular
check-in queue (with a tired toddler). This facility has been in place
for quite some months now! Arriving to Helsinki the hostess announced
the local time wrongly and played the wrong Finnish language message
which announced the duration of the flight instead of the usual "welcome
to Helsinki". Must have been a trainee, right?

legs, and in good quantity. Even got a transfer meal between the 1 hr

attentiveness! If the fares continue to be lower or near KLM then I'm

Unprofessional and don't give a damn attitude plus aggressiveness. The

MAN-BRU return. Friendly crew who worked hard dispensing a reasonable
'keep you going' standard snack and drinks - even managing a second trip

BRU-MAN Y Class. I wasn't expecting much from this flight, but was
pleasantly surprised. I booked the flight through BA, flying out with
BA and returning with SN Brussels. I selected a BA Connect Plus ticket
and this meant I was allowed to use the BA lounge, but SN Brussels still
serve food on their flights, so I had the best of both worlds. Flight
left on time and check in staff were friendly and helpful. The aircraft
was an RJ-100 and pretty much as you'd expect ie. slightly worn but
quiet. Unfortunately I got a seat in row 9, which meant I had the
useless luggage bin. I especially liked the slight change to the safety
instructions where they actually said that in the event of loss of cabin
pressure, apart from having oxygen masks, "the plane would rapidly
descend to get to a breathable altitude and as such make sure your belt
is tight". I've never heard this before. Meal was actually quite nice
with a salmon salad with couscous and 2 different sandwiches. Baggage
arrived quickly and as RJ-100's can use airbridges I was out of the
airport very quickly. I would use this airline again, but if possible
will book through BA and get the same ticket.

We have been flying with Virgin every 6 weeks from Nice to Brussels
round trip ever since we've moved to the south of France. The flights
have always been on time and the crew wonderful. We just got home from
Brussels 2 days ago on a SN Brussels flight that was 2 hours late!
Leaving for Brussels on an SN Brussels flight also, we didn't have a
gate and had to go through the time consuming effort of being bussed to
the plane - also an hour delay. My question is it always going to be
like this now that the two airlines have merged? Beside that on a
positive note the crew are very nice and friendly.
