A short flight from Kuching to Singapore leaving mid morning. No lounge at KCH but business class passengers are given a voucher for a free drink and snack at the coffee outlet in the terminal Flight operated by an A319 which has just 8 business class seats which are configured 2x2. The seats are comfy and include an electronic leg and foot rest. Crew proficient and friendly. Choice of two hot meals - I had the lamb which was excellent and regular offers of wine and water. Arrival was on time and i left feeling I'd really enjoyed the experience which matches the high standards of SIA on thinner regional routes (Silk Air is the regional affiliate of SIA). An excellent airline judging by this flight.

KCH-SIN. The cabin crew were very helpful. It is a short trip but an enjoyable one. I would recommend SilkAir to passengers on KCH-SIN route as it's worth the money compared to other airlines (budget airlines excluded).

KUL-SIN-KUL. Both flights on the A320. The cabin crew quite pleasant and leg space good for this short 40 minute flight. They only do a Beverage service on this flight. Choice of newspapers are handed out before take-off and its time to land before you are done with it. They have convenient timings on this route with 37 flights a week to allow for you to travel for Singapore or KL just for the day for meetings or otherwise. The interiors of the aircraft are maintained quite well but I would say not up to the SQ standards. The price of a round trip is competitive to Malaysia Airlines on this route but a bit higher than the LCC's.

Kuala Lumpur - Singapore a short flight but very enjoyable. The cabin crew were friendly and helpful but due to the full flight and short duration were rushed and forgetful of some passengers' request. Drinks served but in a small portion, lavatories were not well stocked. Variety of drinks could also be improved. Free newspapers were offered. Overall it was enjoyable.

Phuket to Singapore in November 2009 on SilkAir A319 aircraft, one of my best flights in Economy Class. I felt everything was above avarage: the cabin, the meals and serving generally. I liked the comfortable seat and the great crew.

Singapore to Phuket return A320. The outbound trip was good with the exception of the cabin crew. The flight was full and they seemed to struggle to get everyones hand luggage in the overhead lockers, in fact they were jumping up on the edge of seats to do this, no problem really unless you happened to be sitting on the seat when they did this! The aircraft was bright and modern. The in flight entertainment was the worst I've seen, better not to have any than the quality they showed on both flights.

Singapore-Siem Reap on A320. Very short flight with friendly cabin crew and good food. The seats were nice and the cabin was not cramped. Only problem was no inflight entertainment.

Singapore-Xiamen-Singapore. Check-in was fast at Changi airport business class lane. On board service was good. Singapore to Xiamen A31, a bit worn and tired. There were only 8 business class seats. Business class seats were ok, spacious but to me, recline was not enough. Would also appreciate a personal TV for business class seats - 4.5 hours without entertainment was a bit difficult for me and I was getting a little restless. Plus the recline was not fantastic on this business class seat, I had difficulty sleeping comfortable. Food choice was good, service was perfect, very pleasant stewardess. Drinks were always served and a refill was always given when your glass is 1/3 full. Xiamen to Singapore was a A320 with 12 business class seats in leather upholster. Same limited recline and lack of personal entertainment. Food was good, wine was ok. Asked for a Singapore sling cocktail but was not available. Will I fly Silkair again? Yes, but not in Business class due to the lack of fantastic seat recline and personal IFE. Economy class to Xiamen would justify the price tag of the air ticket for the seat offered.

KUL-SIN in economy on A320. This was my first time on Silkair as I usually fly LCC on regional routes. Service was superior compared to competitors. Legroom was more than adequate (seat pitch must have been 34") and cabin announcements kept passengers updated on runway conditions, weather and arrival time. Free newspapers and a juice were offered on this shop hop, but flight attendants seemed happy to oblige when anyone had additional requests.

HYD-SIN-HYD. Online check-in worked well, though seat selection left something to be desired - practically all seats were shown as "occupied" just a couple of hours after online check-in opened for our flights. Bag drop at both ends didn't take much time at all. Boarding was well organized by group number at both ends. A320 both ways; legroom and pitch were adequate. Food tasted OK, but selection wasn't great - the only choice was fish or vegetarian. Onboard service was excellent. One of the FAs was especially kind and helpful to a mom traveling alone with her infant. On the leg to SIN, flight left on time and arrived about 10 minutes early. On the return, flight departed about 25 minutes late, but made up most of this by landing. There were two blemishes to note - first, no communication was provided as to the reason for the delay from SIN. They only told us 5 minutes after the indicated boarding time that the incoming flight was late, and that we'd be boarding in a further 10 minutes (which came and went, eventually boarding 30 minutes late with no further communication). Second, IFE was nonexistent - not even a movie or short program on the overhead screens on the leg from SIN to HYD. Overall, good value for the price paid.

SIN-PNH vv with A320. Cabin clean, FAs were helpful, food was ok. The flights were on time in both legs. IFE needs some improvement since they only play Canadian "just for laughs" shows during the flight. The fare was quite expensive like her sister SQ.

Chengdu to Singapore. I am most impressed by the warm service. Meal was delicious, clean A320, good seat and leg space, and drinks served throughout the flight. However, it could be improved if it was to provide a slight entertainment on their tv screens as they would usually shut it off and put it off after displaying the safety video demonstration before take off.

Singapore-Langkawi return. Flight to LGK on Airbus A319. On-time and very nice crew. However no fold-down TVs. A320, supposedly the latest addition to the Silkair fleet, on the way back. This time they had fold-down TVs and the food was actually good! But they delayed the flight by an hour and forty minutes due to door problems in the plane scheduled to fly the route. It took them an hour and a half to get the new plane to LGK and prepare it for the flight back to Singapore. Some things I noticed were unlike Singapore Airlines, they do not hand out newspapers and hot (or cold) towels. If you have the choice between Silkair and Singapore Airlines (both airlines currently fly the Singapore to KL, Penang and Hydrabad routes), choose Singapore Airlines.

Singapore to Phuket return in economy. Both flights on an A320, with the return a new aircraft with the new interior colour scheme. Flights on time and arrived slightly early. SilkAir seems to have long turnaround times for flights which minimises delays. All female crew on both sectors were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Newspapers handed out before takeoff. Although the A320 has drop down screens there is no personal audio so it’s a “silent” feature. Hot meals, with two choices were served as well as a full bar service. Only soft drinks were offered however other drinks could be asked for free of charge.

Edging very close to 5 star! Flew Singapore to Cebu city, new Airbus A320, staff were happy, jovial, some of the nicest people. Food was so-so, but it is a budget airline. Flight was right on time, no delays.

Very good service in every respect - good flights, good meals, friendly staff. It is a shame that I cannot collect Star Alliance Air Points on their flights.

BRW-SIN A320. There was a change of aircraft for this sector as it was originally ticketed as a Singapore Airlines operated flight. overall a pleasant experience given the fact that the plane was 3/4 full. Stewards were very attentive and friendly, yet the service on the plane felt rushed at times. One thing that did really disappoint though was the lack of IFE, while there were drop down screens there was no general audio at all, even simple audio channels.
