AKL-SIN-DXB-CAI return. AKL to SIN on 777-300ER with new business seats which are very wide and comfortable. Had seats in row 11 which has extra space for your feet as there is no seat in front. Friendly & polite crew. Plenty of drinks available but food only average. SIN- DXB-CAI on 777-300 with older recliner seats which were quite comfortable and at least you don't slide down as on the angle lie flat seats. Night flight so crew barely seen. Food again average. CAI-DBX-SIN on 777-300 again, but delightful crew and excellent food. SIN-AKL on 777-200ER with space beds. I found these seats difficult to operate into a comfortable position and the seat pitch is poor. When the seat next to you is fully reclined it is difficult to access the aisle by climbing over the next passenger. Crew was pleasant and food OK. On all flights aircraft were clean & well maintained. Found the movie selection rather limited. I have found the cabin crew on MH more engaging and friendly. Overall, good flights but not great.

ZRH-SIN, HKG-SIN and SIN-ZRH over a one month period. In general great onboard performance of crew and this time for ground staff as well. A380 (Y, Upper Deck) is a great way to fly. Feels still small and very spacious - B777-300ER product is great as well. Some of the crews gave more attention to details than others. A380 cabin crew on HKG-SIN i.e. did not offer to stow my jacket in contrary on the ZRH although I was basically the first person in the upper deck cabin without rushing to the gate. Boarding was slightly delayed and was thirsty so asked for a glass water. Got a sarcastic comment of let us completely board thrown at me at first but water was then offered by the male steward who had not his best day. Bag delivery was quick on all flights and food choice/quality was great.

LHR-SIN-BNE-SIN-LHR. A380 leg between London and Singapore (13hrs+) is the best flight I have flown for this journey. More space, attentive cabin crew throughout flight and punctual. The A330-300 used for SIN-BNE (8hr flight) is cramped and noisy in comparison, but still the best airline for this route. Overall, an excellent service.

I travelled with my 8 month old twins and could not ask for more from Singapore Airlines. They assisted me all the way, were friendly and helpful. Meals were great, the A380 was great.

Shanghai-Singapore-Jakarta return in economy. Staff polite, attentive and professional and the food more than edible. I would recommend - in particular for families - as the staff do all they can to assist.

LHR-SIN return. Attention to detail and staff concentration on helping passengers makes one appreciate the experience. Food was okay, staff often up and down the aisle with drinks, I have never enjoyed my flight as much as this. First-time long-haul with my kids and they also really enjoyed it.

JFK-Frankfurt return. The check-in agent that assisted me at JFK was rather rude/dry - not a good first impression of ground-service. From there everything changed. Onboard, cabin was immaculate, seat a little narrow, however it did have a good pitch and recline. Cabin crew was efficient and courteous - very consistent service on full 747-400 aircraft. The food was delicious. On the way back, same excellent service. All in all, SIA is definitely a 5-star, airline.

CGK-SIN-PVG, PEK-SIN-CGK. Generally satisfied with Singapore Airlines service, especially for medium haul routes. FA's service very nice and consistent. Seat pitch reasonably good and comfortable. Food very nice, in-flight entertainment good as well. However the same standard not delivered for short haul route (CGK-SIN-CGK), some of the PTVs are not working, food should be better. Baggage claim in Jakarta still very long.

SIN-FRA-SIN. Seems a bit more cramped in Economy class compared to Malaysia Airlines. Check-in in FRA was horrible - 1 counter each open for First, Business, Internet Check-in and Economy. The first three counters had no queue. The last counter (Economy) had 30 people waiting and 1 staff checking-in (this was at 55 mins before departure). Station manager, nor the staff at the first three counters bothered to assist in helping check in. The lady usher staff also kept telling passengers to stay in queue. When it was finally my turn I was told to "hurry" as boarding had begun.

EWR-SIN-DPS return. NYC-SIN legs on the all business class A345 with 100 seats and 14 cabin staff. Attentive cabin staff, catering is good, not sensational. The self service snack bar has very little except fruit, and a few snacks/chocolate. The cabin is spotless, and kept properly darkened, with few announcements. The AVOD system is good and easy to use. Seat is good for sleeping, but not so good for sitting. In the sitting position, the seat is a spacious 30" wide, and one must use the two provided pillows instead of armrests. More importantly, since the seat back is the same as a fold down car seat back, which must be manually folded up or down for sitting or sleeping, it is not much more than an upholstered board, and has no lumbar support, and no neck support. I found this somewhat uncomfortable until I worked with my pillows, and added a third from an empty seat. Sleeping is fine, one must exit the seat to fold it down, and the lie flat position requires lying at a diagonal since one's legs are slightly under the seat in front (thus creating less than the full seat width room in the lie flat position for each passenger as your own head position space is reduced to accommodate the legs of the passenger behind under your own seat). Singapore Changi Business lounges are great, as is the airport. My only critique is that there is no system when lounge showers are occupied to leave your name and be called for a shower when available - one must stand in the toilets to keeps one's place or lose it. SIN-DPS-SIN were on B777 2-3-2 seating, and it's not a comfortable configuration. The seats are old, the cabin ambiance has little style, AVOD equally old, and the catering adequate to good, but no more. It took almost one hour to be served a drink (with lunch, not before) after departure from DPS. The lounge at EWR is the Star Alliance lounge. It is small, sterile, and offers few amenities. Terminal at EWR is perpetually under construction, and can be best characterized as a "dump".

SIN-MEL A380, night flight in economy class. Staff were polite but not overly warm. Aircraft well appointed and in excellent condition. Very disappointed in the configuration of the seating in economy however. I was trapped in my window seat for most of the 8hr flight due to the two people next to me sleeping the entire time (flight attendants were not keen to help here); 3x4x3 seat layout isn't a smart move on the airlines part.

SYD-SIN-LHR-SIN-SYD. Flew on Boeing 747's for SYD-SIN-SYD legs and A380 for SIN-LHR-SIN legs. What a contrast! The 747 seemed so cramped and old compared to the upper deck economy on the A380. Would advise anyone travelling either as a couple or alone to choose upstairs seats on the A380 as there are only 72 seats in this section and you have your own storage bin. If you are someone who likes to look out the window the whole way it might not be for you as there is quite a gap between the seat and window due to the curve of the plane. All legs the service was exceptional and greeted with smiles. Changi T3 is the model all airports should be based on, amazing. For this long haul flight i would only ever choose to fly with Singapore, it might not be the cheapest but you get what you pay for.

SYD-ZRH via Singapore return. Excellent inflight service. Quick and efficient check-in in Sydney and Zurich. Excellent leg-room. Food was very good. Entertainment system was the best that I've seen. Prior to flying Singapore my wife and I always preferred Cathay Pacific. We decided to try Singapore airlines as they had a fantastic offer at the time. No regrets. We will be flying with Singapore from now on.

A380 London to Singapore and on to Ho Chi Minh City. Service exceptional and cannot be faulted. Very happy and attentive cabin crew. Entertainment was fantastic. I think I exhausted all the entertainment facilities available from movies and programmes to games and quizzes. A couple of negative points - food wise I ordered a halal option and it wasn't very nice, and lack of room between seats. I know airlines like to cram as many passengers into economy like sardines but on such a big plane they should have made more room between seats so when you have to use the toilet, you don't have to disturb the person next to you especially when they are asleep.

ZRH-DPS and back recently. Very good service, food, and seats more comfortable than other airlines I know. My only complaint : half an hour delay for which no explanation was given.
