Economy class Christchurch-Singapore-London and Rome-Singapore-Christchurch. Staff very friendly
seats aren't that soft. Food delicious and range of beverages was big. The service continues at
Changi.

Onboard the trouble prone A380 flight Sydney to Singapore on 5 March. The plane did not take off
due to mechanical failure. We sat on the tarmac for 3 hours before being herded back into the
terminal. Waited for more than 5 hours before SIA informed us about what their next steps were
going to be. Transferred on a Domestic flight to Brisbane and then the overnight flight to
Singapore. Overall, it seems that SIA has no contingency plan in case the A380 breaks down and
overall quite chaotic.

LHR-SIN-MNL. Service great, but the 747 used on the flight to SIN is definitely showing its age. The
seats are not that great, if you're tall and the person in front of you has his seat reclined, it is
almost impossible to see the screen, because its angle can only be adjusted marginally. The meals
were also not the greatest - dinner was alright, but the breakfast served prior to landing in SIN
was soggy and not warm. The worst part was that on the flight to MNL they served exactly the same
breakfast. This was the first time I took this airline, but all in all in did not live up to its
high reputation.

Just for a change (one-world platinum FF) I decided to try the Singapore Airlines A380 SYD-SIN for a
three night business trip. Check-in would not allow a soft 10kg carry on (7kg is maximum,
apparently, although I have never had that enforced on a full-service airline) and so had to check
the bag after removing lap-top, reading material etc and buying another bag to carry these at
airport store. Later I came to understand why they have to enforce the carry-on rule so strictly
because the overhead locker in upstairs economy on the A380 above the double seats takes us back to
the days of Fokkers! It is tiny. The usual robotic performance from the SQ cabin staff, but the
screens are an improvement - the alleged extra 1.5 inches of pitch was undetectable. Will definitely
stick to 747's for business.

LHR-SIN-AKL and return. SIN-LHR legs were 747/400 but they are looking a bit tired now and the
seats are uncomfortable. SIN-AKL legs in 777/200 and much more comfortable. IFE was of its usual
high standard. Unfortunately our choices for some of the meals were not available which was
disappointing. My wife and I both have the impression that the airline is not too anxious to serve
alcohol. Only limited wine was available with the meals and the service of some of the attendants
was surly at best. As on previous flights with this airline my wife and I have been awoken by
attendants, when we were clearly asleep, eyeshades and blankets in place, to be asked if we wanted
something to eat. With such a good reputation these incidents come as a surprise.

AKL-SIN-LHR Economy. Excellent service, brilliant IFE, food very good. Transit 6 hrs in the new
Terminal 3 of Changi Airport which is a showcase. We prebooked a room for 4 hrs at the terminal
hotel - cheap, clean, comfortable - an excellent way to break up journey. Terminal 3 has many shops
and affordable eating places, and offers a gym.

PER-SIN-AMS Business class. The trip was very well handled and comfortable.777/300 was better than
the Perth leg for cabin layout. Food was not up to scratch but every other department was fine.
Terminal 3 in SIN was a delight but it is only handling limited flights at the moment as they test
the Terminal and passenger usage will increase as the year goes by.

SYD-SIN-LON Return. The in flight entertainment, particularly on the A380 is superb. Terminal 3 is
a masterpiece of efficiency and design. Check in at Sydney and Heathrow was fast and efficient and
the ability to select your seat and print boarding pass online is a great time saver. My only
complaint would be the seat comfort on the new A380. Although you don't get the TV screen right in
your face, there just isn't enough recline to get comfortable.

Economy SYD-SIN (A380), SIN-FRA (773ER), FRA-JFK (744) with SQ and service fantastic for all
flights. Their new economy class product on first 2 sectors is excellent. After taking these flights
and going back to the 747 for the last sector it was disapointing - their economy product on 747's
still has VOD and is better then most airlines, but I was spoilt with their new product.

Melbourne - Singapore - Shanghai return. We arrived early on all legs. Cabin crew very friendly and
on-demand entertainment was very good with many new release movies. Economy seat pitch was
reasonable on the 777s but a little small on the 747s.

Just arrived in the new terminal 3 in SIN, yet I am sitting in the Premier
lounge in terminal 2 because of the lack of showers in the SIA lounge. Their
answer, "there are showers in the lounge in terminal 2, or you can pay $8 to use
the Ambassador's lounge"! Most people would use the lounge, especially in SIN as
they are in transit to relax and shower before the next flight, especially if
they've just taken the red-eye out of London, and connecting onto a flight bound
for Australia. Yet, for some unknown reason, they have decided not to install
showers for loyal customers of their own airline.

Not much Leg room in Economy Class and the ageing B747 seat cushions are not very comfortable.
Plenty to choose from on the IFE, some systems did not seem to work very well. Service is great
though with drinks being served right through the flight.

EWR-SIN return. Singapore Airlines makes this long, long flight as bearable as possible. Excellent
food, adequate seating. Reassuring and friendly service. As others have noted, the seat is not as
comfortable for sleeping as some other business class products (not as good as British Airways Club
World, for example). AVOD system very good, with a decent selection of movies. Changi's new Terminal
3 is a gem: well organised, bright and airy, with a great new Silver Kris lounge.

SYD-SIN A380 Business Class. Looked forward to this flight for a while and was not disappointed.
Easily the quietest plane I have ever been on. As wonderfully large and fitted out the Business
class seats are, they are still somewhat uncomfortable, due to a design flaw where no lumbar support
exists in these almost perpendicular seats - so trying to find a comfy position to watch a movie on
the large screen can be tricky. All else is perfect.

SIN-NRT in Business class, morning flight. Easy check in in the newly opened international terminal.
Lounge large and comfortable. Boarding for premium Class passengers was quick. Aircraft was an old
747 with seats which were not as nice as those on 777 but nevertheless OK. Excellent service on
board. My luggage did not arrive in Narita. Singapore airlines was very efficient in dealing with
the issue: gave me some cash to buy few clothes, and delivered the suitcase at my hotel 12 hours
later. Good handling of the missing baggage issue, plus excellent service on board.

SIN-LHR return. I travel this route around 6-7 times a year and cannot think of a bad experience
with SQ. The only downside is that due to the delivery delays in the A380 aircraft from Airbus, the
airline has been forced to continue to use its rapidly ageing 747-400 fleet. Whilst this is not a
bad aircraft by any means, the interior is now really starting to show its age, and the non flat
seatbeds in business class are well outdated.

HAN-SIN. Check was easy. Lounge in Hanoi was okay, internet was slow and choice of food was limited.
Boarding went smoothly. Flew in Business class. Being on 5'7 in height, the legroom was massive,
although armroom could have been better (I believe the newest planes are now improved). Food was
good, service excellent (as expected) very attentive and friendly staff. IFE was good. No amenity
kit, but for a short trip, didn't expect one. Toilets were clean and had all the usual toiletries.
Landed on time, and immigration was a doodle. Picked up my bags and off I went.

Newark-Singapore non-stop. A glitch in the check-in system in Newark caused a long check-in wait in
lne. The long, 17 plus hour, flight was fine but there was a wait of over 90 minutes for the first
bag to arrive in Singapore. SQ in F class Singapore-Kuala Lumpur, and a 30 minute wait for the first
bag to appear (almost as long as the flight itself). Lastly, the check-in line for economy in the
new Terminal 3 in Singapore for the non-stop back to Newark was almost out the door. While their
inflight service is still world-class, their ground operations are starting to show cracks. Calls to
customer relations in Singapore were not returned.

7 hour transit in SIN connecting from United's midnight arrival from Tokyo to SIA 0710 flight to
KUL. Went to transfer counter in Terminal 2 at 0430 expecting it to be open 24hrs. No agents were
there and no sign indicating when the counter would open. An agent showed up around 0530 but made no
indication she was prepared to process any passengers. There were 30-40 people seated in the
transfer area waiting for service. Fifteen minutes later I simply went up to the counter and said I
needed a boarding pass for my connecting flight. The process was completed and still she did not
indicate to any others waiting that she was available to assist them. Once it became clear that I
had a boarding pass in hand, those waiting started to queue. One representative to serve 30 to 40
people. I'm not sure how much control SIA has over it's ground handling contractor at SIN, but it
needs improvement. At 0700 the incoming aircraft arrived at the boarding gate. It was obviously
going to be a late departure but no mention was made by ground staff or cabin staff once on-board.
Boarding both flights in SIN and KUL was completely shambolic. There was a complete lack of control
over the boarding process by both ground and cabin staff and this created or compounded delays. As
for in-flight service e

MEL-SIN-AUH return. B777-300ER flight out of MEL is always over booked but nonetheless the crew
made it a lovely experience. My onward flight to AUH with no one sitting next to me to and from AUH
it was a real pleasure. SQ girls are very hard working and happy to take a request. The food is
splendid. The amenity packs are good. Changi T3 is the best I have seen. The 747 on the way back was
dated and I hope that all planes will be refitted with the new configuration.

SIN-MEL B777-300ER. Extremely pleasant flight. As it was a daytime flight I opted for a window seat
right at the back of the aircraft, for a person of my height this was quite a gamble but plenty of
legroom to stretch out there. Entertainment system needed restarting and wasn't operational until
about an hour into the flight but once it was working no one minded at all, quite clearly the best
inflight entertainment in the skies. Was dreading the usual omelette served for breakfast on so many
flights out of Changi, but was treated instead to a lovely continental breakfast. At no point did I
feel I needed to stand up and move around, which for a seven hour flight is extremely impressive and
attests to the comfort of Singapore Airlines' new Economy class. After a thirty hour journey across
the pacific with Northwest just a couple of days prior, this was the perfect contrast between the
two classes of airline.

LHR-SIN-AKL return Economy. Excellent flight and fantastic service from cabin crew. TV screens are

experienced this again even though it was very long!
