MEL to Narita via Singapore. Melbourne to Singapore on 747 in the upper cabin.
Whilst the planes are getting old the business class seat was comfortable whilst
not fully flat. The cabin service was very friendly and efficient. Singapore to
Narita on the A380, The new Business Class seat excellent and flat bed was a
great. I found the service to be very poor compared to my flight to Singapore
from Melbourne - I found the service on the A380 on both flights poor. There
were plenty of crew but they were more interested in speaking amongst themselves
rather than looking after passengers. I found the food on all sectors very good
quality. In general I would fly with Singapore again, though I prefer the in
flight service offered by Thai Airways.

SIN-MNL in C Class and MNL-SIN in F Class. B777-300 regional layout used on both
fights. I have not really experienced any big differences between C and F Class
on these flights. F seat slightly more pitch and degrees of recline. F Food was
almost the same( I could get a business class menu on the return trip to
compare) and the difference is only the servings on different crockery. The only
really F class experience is that from the 18 seats only 4 were taken, so more
personal service. But if recommended, C Class for radius of 3 hours flight is
adequate enough.

SIN-JNB return in business. Old business class seats were a disappointment.
Service was excellent - I asked to skip breakfast and to be woken up with enough
time to change on the return leg, and the cabin crew did just that. Food was
excellent in both directions - fishball soup noodles on the outbound leg
impressed me. It is of a standard that makes one look forward to meals on board,
something that cannot be said for Cathay any more. One excellent small touch is
checking if I was a medical doctor after take-off to avoid embarrassment should
an emergency arise - first time it has happened. The only let down (aside from
the seats) was that SIA did not provide an amenity kit - you get a sleep mask
and socks, and earplugs on request.

Copenhagen-Hanoi, food and service very good, despite the service from
Copenhagen is in the "old" cabin type, I never had a problem with finding a
comfortable seating position or to sleep. However a better beer selection would
be nice.

BNE-SIN-FRA business class return. New regional business class seats on the A333
between BNE- SIN very comfortable even for a tall guy like myself. Great for
sitting/relaxing but also good for sleeping with no hard edges and sufficient
space so even I managed to sleep on my side. Business class seat/flat beds on
773ER in service between SIN-FRA simply fantastic and very private. Never before
did I manage to sleep 8 hours on a flight. Do have to admit that it can be
challenging to find a comfortable position while sitting upright due to the
enormous width of the seat. Catering very good on all flights but did notice a
quality difference between the catering ex Singapore (top notch), Frankfurt
(very good) and Brisbane (average). Crew excellent but did notice that the
smiles are no longer genuine but well trained. Good and clear information from
the flight deck and all flights on time. KrisFlyer lounge in SIN T3 simply
fantastic. SQ really deserves the 5 star rating in business class.

Mumbai to Singapore, and Singapore to London. On both flights the crew, food and
service was probably the best I have encountered in economy. A38O is
outstanding, had 3 seats to sleep on the flight to London which was great. It is
easy to see why they rate so highly.

SIN-MEL SQ217. Was scheduled as a 777-300ER but at last minute aircraft was
changed to a tired-out 777-300. This was the first of my disappointments - would
not have paid the premium that SQ still charges if it was for their old economy
class. Service ordinary and inflight entertainment was full of kid's films, not
the so-called amazing selection of movies and television programs their
publicity material raves about. Seats tired and by SQ standards are in need of
replacement. Might be better than other airlines but fact is most people on this
flight booked for a 777-300ER with the new Economy and Business Class and were
given an outdated product from early 2000s. Food was dire - terrible omelet with
cold beans and dry hash brown. Have stuck with SQ for the last few years in the
face of serious competition from others, and have finally decided to start
shopping around. Buck your ideas up or risk losing more loyal customers,
Singapore Airlines!

BNE-LHR return with a 15 month old. Bassinets good and staff helpful. Have tried Emirates,
Thai and JAL bassinettsand would rate SIA the best as will fit a larger heavier baby. My only
problem was the window seat in the new A330-300, the curvature of the plane encroaches on your
space. Liked the newer and larger PTV.

Bangkok-Tokyo-Bangkok. Bangkok to Narita full, meals served quickly so sleep was possible. An
overnight bag was provided (socks, toothbrush, eyemask) and headphones were distributed. The
food was high quality, international or Japanese menu. The wine glass though was microscopic
- one mouthful. The return leg was an early morning flight and was half full. The drinks and
meals served after two hours, and meals excellent. Boeing 777-300 on both legs and a 3-3-3
seat configuration. The crew flight were attentive and delightful, and for economy class, this
was probably the best flight I have had in recent memory. I am just saddened that the BKK-NRT
route (direct) ends July 31st 2009!

LHR-SIN-BKK-SIN-LHR. Travelled A380 on outward and return LHR-SIN legs. Food very good
quality, plentiful alcohol including Singapore Slings. Inflight entertainment system
(Krisworld) very good with a good variety of music, films and TV shows. Large high resolution
screen. SIN-LHR was better as seated on upper deck (which feels more spacious and with the
window seats you have a little sill to put things on with a little compartment to put things
in) and cabin service was more polished. Older 777-200 on SIN-BKK routes with much smaller low
resolution screen but fine for 1hr 45mins flight. Crew very good and hard working on all legs
- all very professional.

SIN-HKG-SIN on a special offer ticket in economy. HKG-SIN will be upgraded to A380. I chose a
seat on the upper deck - a special boarding row for the upper deck economy passengers, so you
board with business class. The small economy cabin is a bit more exclusive than the normal Y
class. The seats are the most recent seats at SQ, the same which are on the A330 with the
upgraded iPod connectivity etc. Service is just the usual top service from SQ, food catered
from HKG seems to be a worse than the food loaded in Singapore. Even during take off, you
hardly could hear the engines.

LHR-SIN and return - outstanding service. Check in smooth. Lounge in Singapore fantastic. Only
minus, on the return flight we always find the staff less friendly unhelpful.

SIN-HKG return. A380 both ways, took the inaugural flight out, there was a complimentary
buffet breakfast service at the departure gate. Outbound on upper deck was quiet and had an
exclusive feel. Return leg delayed by 50 min, but no big deal. Main deck boarding queue took a
while to clear, so its better to be upstairs. Cabin air was less dry, so you don't feel the
need to slap on moisturizer and lip balm constantly.

SFO-HKG-SIN-DPS round trip in Economy. Check-in in SFO was painfully slow. Once in the air,
most staff polite and welcoming. The menus handed out list an Indian food option, but don't
expect this option to be available to you (or maybe they were holding back because I am not
Indian). The food was edible but I think Lufthansa has the edge when it come to food quality.
Boeing 777-300ER has a large IFE screen with many entertainment options. Boeing 777-200 used
between SIN and DPS had a small, low resolution screen. Still, even these old planes were
much better than what's offered by United or Lufthansa Y class.

BNE-SIN-Moscow-SIN-SYD on A330-300 and B777-300ER. These aircraft feature the new interior
with excellent features such as a small mirror hidden on the tray table and additional reading
lights under the PTV screen. Krisworld AVOD is amazing. Service superb, the best economy class
I've experienced. Meals excellent and well presented. Frequent drink runs, helpful flight
attendants. The let-downs were the telephone sales because they would not extend a waitlist
and sometimes their English is a bit hard to understand. The other gripe relates to the seats
- they are very firm and the headrest is awkwardly shaped.
