FCO-SIN-PER in economy class, first leg on Boeing 777-200ER, then new A330-300. Cabin crew
very attentive and helpful, tasty food, good IFE, relaxed cabin environment. I appreciated a
lot their "now or never" promotional fares from Rome to Singapore! Nobody could give you so
much with same amount of money. Check in was pretty quick. They should allow a complete choice
of seats through the internet.

LHR to SIN economy on A380 upstairs section. Cabin crew charming and very attentive, food was
perfectly acceptable - also liked the little touches toothbrush /paste etc. I was amazed how
they worked through out the night providing snacks water, fresh juice always with a smile. We
felt very well looked after would fly with them again.

SIN - PER Comfortable seats with ample leg room and generous seat recline. Lunch was a
choice of chicken or fish on the menu, but by the time the meal carts reached our row the
cabin crew had run out of chicken, and my wife is not a fan of fish, but the Chief Stewardess
sacrificed her own meal which was seafood fried noodles.

LHR-SIN-KUL return, the LHR-SIN-LHR legs on B777-300 and A380. Their business class seat is a
huge disappointment, especially on very long flights. FAs, IFE, foods and drinks are top-
notch, but I'd rather have the perfect seat! I think BA's Club World seat is much easier to
use and better also, for sitting, lounging and sleeping.

Singapore to London. B777 with good new style seats and big personal screens, good footrests,
3-3-3 configuration though still short of legroom. Good food served, cabin crew pretty
attentive and slightly bossy as usual - they are very fussy about turbulence and seat belts
but a really good thing is they make everyone sit upright at meal service. Downside was a
cracked coffee cup meant a huge stain on my shirt for which I had little apology.

BKK-SYD on B777 and upper deck of A380 .Overall a very pleasant flight and one of the best
economy experiences in many years. Check-in at BKK presented problems with a "minor"
accompanying us and took almost 30 mins to resolve to SQ and our satisfaction. Overnight trip
SIN-SYD and cabin crew - although up to usual SQ high standards and did not abandon us - were
a little less attentive but still a happy lot. Cabin cleanliness and condition excellent as
was comfort of seats with good leg room. Food good but catering out of Singapore not same
standard as other airports.

JFK-FRA-JFK on Boeing 747. The flights were good, the attendants were attentive calling us by
our names. The drinks were excellent but meals were not as good as what we had from other
Asian airlines. The seats were comfortable sitting up or reclining but did not lie
horizontally flat so sleeping was uncomfortable. Amenities were skimpy with only booties and
eye shades. Have to find toothbrush and razor in toilets. Business class passengers got to use
Star Alliance lounges: Oasis Lounge in JFK was nice but not as good as SA lounge in Changi
airport. Lufthansa Business lounge in FRA was a shame, not worth the long walk.

LHR-SIN-PER and BNE-SIN-LHR. LHR-SIN (B777-300ER) and SIN-LHR (A380-800) had the wide seats
and flat beds in business class. Both very comfortable and no problem to use. SIN-PER and BNE-
SIN were both A330-300 with the older inclined beds and narrow seats which were much less
comfortable. Stewards were generally good although the food choices were a little haphazard.
Flights were right on time and Singapore airport was, as usual, a delight. Our first time long
haul with the airline and we would happily use them again.

Return flights London to Singapore on the A380 - amazingly quiet and every aspect down to
stair cases and toilets much bigger than on any other aircraft. SIA inflight service is to an
extremely high standard. Food is varied and presentation is better than on some other carriers
I've experienced. AVOD has a good mix of music, games and films. The crew always on hand to
fulfil requests and they keep toilets very clean. Shame the check-in clerk at Changi did not
rise to the same high standards. I would have expected more warmth from someone checking in an
economy class passenger let alone on in business class. I have to agree with other comments on
these pages about the lack of padding on the seat when its in the 'lie flat' mode, although
its very comfortable when use in normal mode whether its fully upright or reclined. Certainly
it is too hard and needs to be made more comfortable for use on very long sectors. I also
think the small inset where the permanent foot rest is placed (on the seat in front) is poorly
designed. It needs to be wider to offer more room to move both feet, rather than them being
'hemmed in'. Sure they are better then the rest now but they've not got the seat right yet
and that prevents them getting full marks

LHR-SIN-BKK return on B777ER. My wife and I travelled with our 2 children (3-years and
10-months). Staff were most attentive I've experienced in 15+ years of long haul travel, they
even asked our children's were before take off and used their names throughout the flight.
IFE the best, seat pitch pretty good in Y class, and service was great. My only down point
would be the food, not very good on any of the 4 flights we took with SQ.

DEL-SIN-ICN. Its a very good airline. Good professional staff and they come into their own at
Changi. SIN-ICN flight had a problem - took off at midnight and reached ICN at 6.30 am.
Unfortunately most of the night, they were busy serving which meant very little time to sleep.
But still its probably the best in this sector.

I am a long time SQ fan - Gold Krisyflyer for many years and will go out of my way to fly SQ
especially as I usually travel economy class and SQ seem to give the best service, IFE, food,
etc imaginable in modern air travel. My recent Business class on "the widest seat in the sky"
on A380 SIN-LHR-SIN was terrible due to the seat. Great amenities, service, IFE of course but
the seat is torture. When a seat, it is too big (I am a large guy) and you cannot get
comfortable despite putting it back, seat extension out etc. But trying to use the "flat bed"
is the real disaster on such a long trip (12 h/ 14h), it is complicated to put down and easily
gets stuck. Once four crew members had to manhandle it back to seat position, including one
poor FA sitting on it, yanking for all it was worth. But even down - it is the back of the
seat - there is no padding beyond a thin strip of felt. So after 20-30 minutes, everything
starts to ache. I think unless you are a very, very small you would suffer. Next time, I will
go with 2 economy seats - better chance of getting a decent rest. Very disappointed in this as
I was so looking forward to trying Business class on the A380.
