DOH-MNL-DOH. Both flights average, unmotivated crew. On the second leg the
supervisor was not visible, meat of main course on MNL-DOH was uneatable. "We
will report this" was the only answer and no excuse or option was given. |

LHR-Baghdad return, first time with Qatar. Overall a very impressive product.
Outbound check in very fast and lounge at LHR one of the best I have come across
with attentive but discreet service, impressive selection of food and drink and
everything beautifully presented. Outbound on A340-600, taken to my seat.
Configuration 2-2-2 is a real feeling of space. Drinks and towel service.
Despite a late evening departure a full meal was available and the quality among
the best I have encountered. My Indian style main was truly excellent.
Accompanying beverage choice also a high standard. Breakfast was available for
those who wished it - I preferred to sleep. Premium Lounge in Doha was okay
though fell short of the wow factor some suggest - it was very busy and I felt
that food and drink options were limited. Nevertheless, it was a pleasant place
and the dedicated transfers from the plane were appreciated. Doha duty free was
very good value, especially for cigarettes. Connection on a smaller Airbus with
another chance of breakfast, food not so inspiring on this leg but acceptable.
Return flight saw a very long check in, confusion when I queried the
reallocation of my pre-assigned seat in Doha but then followed the surprise of
being booked into a hotel for my 11 hour transit with all meals and drinks
included (I had previously checked and been told I would have to stay in the
lounge). I cannot praise the service of the Qatar ground staff highly enough
here, the hotel too was first rate. The final leg was a nice but uneventful
flight on an A330, again two meals available with another Indian influenced dish
again the star for me. Service impeccable and IFE of a very good quality on all
legs (though on the shorter trips in and out of Baghdad it is more limited).
Overall thoroughly impressed and think fitting of the top level rating – minor
issues alluded to relating to Doha are all that hold me back from giving a rare
ten.

Kuala Lumpur to Phuket and back. A330 had a nice amount of leg space, cabin crew
very pleasant and snack served was quite nice for airline food. Going it was a
light load flight so the stewardess were not attentive to a single passenger.
Coming back the flight was almost full, the vegetarian sandwich was soggy and
overcooked. Excellent service.

Heathrow-Doha leg on the 777, not much more than about half full. On time
departure. Good leg and arm room (I believe the 777 is better than QR’s 330’s
and 340’s in this regard). Excellent cabin crew, helpful and highly visible.
Main in flight meal (choice of two) was OK but I’ve had better; second meal was
a disappointing snack - a boxed pizza slice and rather nasty foil wrapped
biscuit; no choice offered. IFE was fine, but again I’ve experienced better. The
in flight map facility was extremely frustrating, constantly switching between
perspectives and with 90% of the captions in Arabic. Onward connection to CMB in
an almost full A321; boarding was delayed for reasons not explained, and
departure further delayed as a result of chaotic boarding, eventually leaving 30
minutes later than scheduled. All seats had personal IFE, albeit with a reduced
programme compared to the long haul aircraft. In any case, the system crashed
and by the time it was re-set there were only two hours of flying time left.
Cabin crew good again, but the in-flight meal was poor. Return journey, same
aircraft types, experience similar to outgoing. Verdict – long haul aircraft and
comfort good, cabin crew very good, IFE reasonable, in-flight catering
disappointing.

Singapore-Doha-Paris return with my wife and 2 kids (incl a 15 month old) in
Economy. The food was ordinary, the staff okay but nothing special. Most
annoying was the obligation we had to take our little one out of his bassinet
every time the seat belt sign was activated. The entertainment system was
disappointing with a very poor movie selection. One good feature: the legroom
was slightly bigger that on the other airlines.

My wife and I were on CGK-DOH-DXB vv flight. The plane departed about 30 minutes late from Jakarta but
arrived in Doha on time. The other stints were OK. Seating in all flights were very comfortable. Foods and
beverages were very good. Most of the cabin crews were very good, though some were a bit rude. We
enjoyed our flight but not sure we will fly this airline again until the new Doha airport is completed. The
transit at Doha airport was so irritating, during busy hours you have a long queue for toilets, restaurants and
seats and the buses from the terminal to the planes can take 30 minutes.

I have made three trips from Melbourne to various cities in Europe via Doha with Qatar Airways.
Melbourne via Doha is truly sublime, not to mention the Doha Premium terminal that must be
experienced. I and the many people I have recommended it to will not be changing.

Had a flight from Dammam to Karachi through Doha. The takeoff from Dammam got delayed and we had to
spend the night at Doha due to transit time of only 50 minutes between the connecting flights. Getting off
the plane and moving to the transit lounge through the bus was terrible. The ground staff at Doha were
dealing passengers as if they are being forced to do so. On our way back, me and my wife were not allotted
side by side seats and found it quite difficult dealing with an infant. I wonder about the difference in the
attitude of the good cabin staff and the ground staff.

MEL-DOH-LHR, MEL to DOH okay, food etc was excellent. However in Doha, at 6.30am, we had 4 hour delay.
I understand these things happen at passengers were not told why, nothing on PA, and it was with luck
we found we could have food vouchers (food was appalling). Very poor communication from airport staff.

SIN-DOH-CPH return. 3 out of 4 legs were excellent with very attentive staff. Sadly the last leg was let down
by a steward who was either very new to business or simply not up to the task. He just kept forgetting me,
didn't bring the champagne which he asked if I wanted. Forgot my dinner and didn't bring the wine. Shame it
was the last leg.

Traveled DME-DOH-HKG and back one week ago. Spotless planes, good on-demand entertainment system, in-
flight GSM, good food, on-time arrivals and departures. On all legs I was able to get seats I wanted (exit
row), and no wait at check-in. In Moscow they booked fast-track security and immigration for both business
and economy passengers. All crews were consistently enthusiastic and competent. The only minus I would
point to, was catering concept. Instead of serving main meal and tea within a short time interval, they spend
normally 2 hours on dinner service beginning it about 1 hour after take off. Overall meal service time added
to duty free offerings makes around 3.5 hours, so no time to sleep and relax. Another problem was that
onboard temperatures are kept either freezing (+14 on two flights to and from HKG at A330-200) or incredibly
hot (DME-DOH A321). Transit at Doha was smooth and simple. The airport doesn't make the wait time
pleasant, but it was bearable. Overall well deserved 5 star.

Travelled Manchester-Denpasar. Disappointed with service in Business class, has to specifically ask for
Champagne on all legs as the steward did not offer it. Food was OK, not as good as it was in February when
we last travelled with Qatar. Planes were clean and toilets were spotless. Cabin crew only once addressed us
by name and that was when we got off at Denpasar. We are privilege club members and found this journey to
be of a lower standard than all of our other journeys.
