NBO-DME via DOH. Smooth check in and friendly ground staff, boarding done a manner so nobody would have to stand too long before sitting on his own seat, a great sense of attention from the flight attendants. High quality service provided with a great smile. The only challenge was the behavior of an attendant on the flight DOH-DME, which was pretty clumsy.

JFK-DOH-MAA. Check-in really smooth, staff nice enough to block 3 seats for me. The flight was 2/3 full. The food wasn't that impressive but world class IFE ensured that the 11 odd flying hours passed by smoothly. Doha Airport silver lounge was near empty and had decent facilities. DOH-MAA flight was really good, liked the attitude of crew, the food was good too.

London-Doha-Lahore. A330 to Doha, service was excellent, food very good and cabin crew very helpful. Could be better if the seats were wider and TVs a bit bigger. Stayed at doha for 5 hours - airport was good and clean. Travelled to Lahore on A340. Everything was good and the TVs were much bigger and touchscreen - you could also use music USB devices.

LGW-DOH-BKK return. Service was consistent and excellent on all 4 flights. Food excellent for economy, drink rounds frequent and cabin crew seemed attentive to requests (and even proactive in making sure passengers were comfortable). I found a big difference between the planes that we flew in. London-Doha on A330-200 and Doha - Bangkok on B777-300ER. I found the A330 not particularly comfortable in terms of legroom and seat width, and the IFE box under the seats reduces legroom. The B777-300ER was a real joy to fly in. Very comfortable seats with good width and legroom, much more airy and spacious feeling, better IFE and a more comfortable ride. Doha airport is not very exciting, but apart from that I found the connections painless. In terms of facilities, I think there is enough for a 2-3 hour connection, but anything over this requires a good book.

Flew Qatar Airways from Shanghai via Doha to Johannesburg and back. Very good service, excellent food in the economy class and a wide range of inflight entertainment. Will use them again!

Kuala Lumpur-Doha-London Heathrow. Good seat and leg room. IFE good, but some minor problems. Cabin crew attentive and polite. On the transfer at Doha it was chaos with numerous passengers trying to make connecting flights. On the leg from Doha to Heathrow the seat pocket had rubbish from the previous flight. Flight attendants did sort it, but this was not what I expected. Some flights have very short transfer times in Doha, but this doesn't excuse planes not being cleaned/checked before passengers board. Food was good and drinks served regularly. I like Qatar Airways, and 3 of the 4 flights on my journey were very good. I would book again based on the seats, leg room and IFE.

ZRH-DOH-CPT return. My first experience with Qatar. Seats very comfortable (I'm 185 cm) and beds fully extendable (although not fully horizontal) and acceptable. Food excellent; menu cards and wine lists more or less identical on all 4 legs but as they offer an extended choice, repetition wasn't boring. And to top it all, smiling, kind and friendly FA's. All this at a price hardly superior to that of an Economy ticket on other companies. The only slight disappointment was about boarding and disembarking both at Doha and at Cape Town: no airbridges thus need to use buses.

LHR-DOH-CMB-DOH-LGW. Online check-in worked perfectly. There was not great signage at LHR so we were stuck in a queue for a while as the fast bag drop line was not immediately visible. Check-in staff were organised and friendly. Cabin crew outstanding, meals excellent, inflight entertainment was first class. Previously an Emirates champion but have taken Qatar the last few flights east from UK and will stick with them, despite the lack of facilities at Doha airport. They deserve the 5* ranking.

ZRH-DOH-BKK return A330 and B777. Very clean and comfortable plane. Excellent food, very friendly crew from different Asian countries. A super lounge with good food and all kinds of free drinks in Doha. A real 5 star airline!

FCO-BKK via DOH in Business Class. Fantastic experience, seats very good, flight on time, crews fantastic. Food as first class. Really a 5 star airline - one of the best in my opinion.

JFK to TRV roundtrip. Check-in line at JFK was very long (seems to be the case with most airlines dealing with a lot of India-bound passengers) - I got there 4.5 hours in advance of departure and I was still around #50 in line! Anyhow, the check-in agents got to their positions 4 hours sharp before departure, and once they were in position handled the crowd very quickly and efficiently - a world of difference from US airlines and their "check-in kiosk" nonsense. I managed to get exit row seats all the way to India, but a word of warning: make sure your carry-on weighs less than 7 kilograms, they are strict about weight limits. But even with a carry-on within limits I still had trouble at Doha when trying to board my connecting flight to India. A gate agent made anyone carrying more than a purse or briefcase check their carry-ons, no exceptions. I don't know what the issue was, I wasn't pleased giving up my carry-on with fragile valuables but they wouldn't budge - not even when I told them it was within weight limits and had been carried on board the flight from JFK. But apart from the carry-on nonsense the rest of the flight was OK. Food from JFK to DOH was a choice of two Western entrees and one Indian vegetarian entree. My breakfast choice was not memorable but not horrible either. They had turkey and veggie wraps available on request between the meal services, along with Ben & Jerry ice cream. The AVOD entertainment was excellent - tons of international cinema and music. The flight crew was mostly from the Indian Subcontinent as seemed to be around 95% of the passengers. DOH airport is a little sad for a major international hub - small and antiquated, but okay for a 1-2 hour layover like mine. DOH-TRV was interesting - they had only Indian food available, and when they got to my seat they claimed they were completely out of the chicken curry entree and only had the Indian cottage cheese entree - when I informed them I was lactose-intolerant a chicken entree appeared. I still wonder why they claimed they were totally out of chicken? But all this is of little importance, given that the flights were on time and bags arrived intact, even my precious carry-on that they confiscated at DOH!

FRA-DOH-HKG return. My first time on Qatar Airways. FA's friendly on all four flights, the Captains announcements helpful. Space for legs was very big, there were two meals served on each flight. Passengers always got menu cards before and the food was excellent. Inflight Entertainment Program was also good, although movies were not really up to date. All in all four great flights aboard Qatar Airways.
