6 November 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
We flew to Saigon via Doha return - no complaints apart from outward and return journeys my partner
and I had to sit with strangers, as even though the plane was by no means full, we did not get seats
together. I'm not sure if its an alphabetical error on the part of the ground crew or if it was to
much trouble. The service on the flights was excellent and the best economy service I have had.

3 November 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
Business Class Manchester to Singapore return. At Manchester check in was instant and we were quickly
through fast track at security and visited the lounge which was a bit crowded. Onboard service was
wonderful where we were treated as valued customers and could not fault food, service and drinks. A 5
hour lay over in the new lounge in Doha was dry as it was still Ramadan but nonetheless an enjoyable
experience. Flight to Singapore was good with excellent service and food. Same experience on return.
Instant check in at Changi Airport and excellent food and drinks service with very attentive staff and
the same from Doha to Manchester. All in all a wonderful 4 flight trip with terrific service. The crew
remembered what drinks we wanted and just turned up to refresh our glasses when needed. Qatar are
still striving to ensure that they continue to give a 5 star product. Keep up the good service. We fly
again to Bangkok in December - again business class and again Qatar.

1 November 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
My last flight was from Dubai to Paris via Doha in economy. The service was very slow in economy with
no pre dinner drink but staff are so slow its probably best not to offer this. You have to ask for
drinks separately and if you are lucky they will remember once they finally get back to the galley to
find one for you. Recently they started serving drinks with paper cups so a wine or a gin and tonic
is just not the same. The dinner portion of the dinner is cold because they place all the hot plates
in the trays in the galleys instead of keeping they warm on the trolley. The Gold lounge at Doha when
flying in economy does not offer alcohol at anytime and is a new move since opening the first and
business class lounge at Doha. Not really what to expect from a 5 star airline. They should improve
and be more consistent to improve their economy service.

Economy Manchester to Denpasar via Doha return. Check in, staff and special order for low fat meals
excellent. Can't be faulted. Negatives: I expected, and allowed for, a six hour wait over at Doha. So
paid for the Oryx Lounge at Doha. Food OK but due to Ramadan no alcohol. I am a light drinker but on a
24 hour flight plus a six hour wait it would have been nice if my cultural views could have been
allowed for as I consider and allow for other beliefs. However the odd drink doesn't rate too highly
in the inconvenience stakes. The biggest complaint was that I was not informed we would also land at
Kuala Lumpur. This added another 1.5 hours, confined to the plane on a runway. When booking the
impression given was that there was only one stop ie at Doha. Knowing we had to go via KL could have
made a difference to my travel plans. Finally I tried to book early for a specified seat but was told
that this was not possible and could only be done at the Check-in desk. I was the first to check -in
on the departure date and was then informed ALL seats had already been reserved. A complete
contradiction.

LHR-SIN via DOHA Business Class. Although I had called ahead and reserved seats and checked on two
occasions my colleague and I ended up not sitting together, not a real problem but not ideal. Check in
staff refused to assist and were a bit off hand. Mind you when you have to work at T3 LHR no wonder
you have your bad days. Flight out very good and could not ask for more. Food was excellent and plenty
of it on both legs with great service and FA's always on hand to top up your glass. I was concerned
about the very quick change of planes at Doha (55 minutes) but apart from no announcement of where to
go we followed the crowd and staff put us on the correct bus. IFE good and the almost flat beds were
comfortable. From landing at Changi we were out in 15 minutes flat. On the return leg a week later my
colleague and I turned up at Changi and checked in, a little slow as we were the only ones there and
almost immediately staff from Qatar started to pester us to change flights. The offer was to fly with
Singapore on a direct flight in business but that flight wouldn't arrive in London until 3 or so hours
after our booked flight. I declined due to the length of my journey at the other end . We were
pestered again in the lounge by phone calls and personal visits. It was then they offered one of us a
Singapore flight in business arriving at LHR 3 hours before our scheduled flight. As it looked as
though one of us would have to go we agreed at as I had the longer journey at the other end I would
take the option. My bags were taken off and just after the gates closed a rep came to escort me to T2.
On arrival at Singapore Business check in imagine my surprise when I was told the only seat left was
in economy right at the back of the aircraft next to the toilets. There were no business seats
available for 3 days. The Qatar rep found this most amusing until I took him off for a quiet word. His
boss arrived and gave me the option of having a full refund on the return flight if I were to fly
economy. I declined. Negotiations followed for around 30 mins and it would appear that Qatar staff had
take a gamble that there would be a business class seat available (on a Friday morning from SIN-LHR I
don't think so). When this became apparent I really lost it. After they realised I knew what had
happened guess what a seat in Singapore business class on the flight arriving at 15.30 hours and a
very comfortable flight it was too. The lesson learned, before you switch with Qatar make sure you see
proof from the other airline that you have a seat, don't take their word for it.

26 October 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
My wife and flew business class Heathrow to Manila in June this year. The service was excellent. I
found the business class superior to that of Emirates with the exception of their amenities pack. The
food was excellent. However, the service from Doha to Manila was not as good as from Heathrow to
Doha. They upgraded people from economy to business. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

MAN-DOH-CMB economy . Seating very good and comfortable. Choice of menu also excellent service by
staff - very warm and helpful. We have always flown with Emirates and we Qatar are as good and will
certainly use them in the future. Doha terminal is modern and clean, we had booked into the Oryx
lounge which was an oasis to spend 4 hours plus whilst in transit. On our return from Colombo we were
upgraded - how the other half live! It was fantastic service, service and presentation of your meal
and everything else that you get when you travel business class. Our seats even made themselves into a
bed! When we landed at Doha we were whisked away to the main terminal. So hats of to all of the staff
who work for Qatar - thanks for great flights.

9 October 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
Man-Doha-Delhi-Doha-Man. Business/Economy. The Executive Lounge in Manchester is rubbish, its always
full and its not that good, its about time Qatar opened their own or changed. Its a world away from
their new premium terminal for First and Business passengers in Doha which is superb, apart from the
lack of people and limited choice in duty free - its a quiet relaxing environment in which to wait for
your connecting flight. As usual the aircraft was clean and the flight was on time, inflight
entertainment was very good and boarding was excellent. The flight from Doha to Delhi was ok - yes its
a night flight but AVOD is rubbish. The Business seats are good, not the best i've sat on and although
they only recline to 160 degrees you cant really sleep too well. My only problem with Qatar is
boarding at Doha and Delhi which is a bit chaotic and why do they not provide amenity kits for economy
passengers on long haul. Having said that Qatar Airways is now my first choice of airline through the
Middle East. They are punctual, offer good food and drink and run a modern fleet of airbus aircraft.
And when they're new terminal opens at Doha I think they will be hard to beat.

5 October 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
LHR-DOH-JNB return F/J. FA's very efficient and polites. Food was of a very high standard and
perfectly served. When we were ready to sleep the FA's immediately made up the beds. At Doha we were
taken to the new premium terminal which is everything Qatar claim it to be. On the next leg to
Johannesburg we travelled in J (business) as there is no First class on this section of the route.
Again service and crew were excellent. On the return journey the same level of service applied. We
had a three and a half hour wait for our London connection in the first class lounge and had the
opportunity to use one of the rest rooms which had twin beds for us to relax. Normally this is for
connection times of over four hours, however they were more than happy to provide the facility when
asked. Excellent shower facilities and massage chairs if you want them as well. Again a car to take
us out to the aircraft and excellent service while on board. This is the first time we have used Qatar
Airways, and from our point of view definitely a 5 star service throughout. These flights were bought
as a 'companion' ticket and well worth every penny.

5 October 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
Manchester – Dubai economy. Flights excellent, good entertainment, attentive service and enjoyable
food. Slight delays at the Doha transfer security due to the number of flights arriving at similar
time but had enough time for shopping and a quick visit to the lounge before the final leg to Dubai.
Return Dubai to Manchester, usual scrum at the Doha transfer security (they need to open more lanes at
peak time). Flight again excellent, quick drinks round but meal service a bit slow in coming but worth
the wait. I don’t know if it’s just my experience, but it seems that at Manchester the priority
baggage is unloaded last. I am beginning to think that even though I hold a silver Privilege club
card, it might be better not to ask for priority baggage in future.

30 September 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
LGW-DOH-BKK Return economy. My main criticism has been echoed before and that is the slow service. On
the Gatwick/Doha segment there was one flight attendant serving both drinks and meals at same time in
my section. This has always been personal dislike of mine when drinks are not a separate service. I
was seated in the middle of aircraft and it was two hours into the flight before she reached me. When
I opened my meal it was completely cold - not even lukewarm. I complained about this and they very
apologetically heated another meal. The crew did not seem to work together. I would expect that when
one flight attendant had finished their section they would assist in another section still serving
meals, but this did not appear to be the case. On the flight back from Bangkok to Doha it was a
seperate drinks service first but I could not understand why the flight attendant kept going back to
galley after every other row. Again I was middle of aircraft and very long wait to be served my
drinks. The flight attendant then explained to me because of start Ramadan they could not display any
alcoholic drinks on trolley. Any passenger requiring alcohol involved the attendant having to return
to the galley for these drinks. Again the crew appeared not to help each other but just deal with
their allocated section. Apart from this the crew were very friendly, obliging and call request
buttons answered immediately. A five star airline they may be in business and first but need to
improve efficiency of service in economy.

LHR-DOH-JNB business class 21 June. Great service and good experience.
Doha lounge excellent, Heathrow one mediocre. Only downside, as pointed
out by other people on this website, is that the seats are at such an
angle you feel you're sliding off. We never managed to get the right
arrangement for adequate comfort, which was a shame.

IST-DOH-SIN in Economy. The equipment is newish and in good condition,
seats in Economy class quite comfortable, the legroom decent even in the
A321 from IST to DOH, and the food excellent. Toilets were filthy from
IST and stayed filthy, despite polite attempts to get FAs to clean the
mess up. FAs great with the screaming kids, but ignored the drunk who
turned nasty and abusive. The cabin crew don't seem to work together as
a team.

Hong Kong to Doha. Checked in at Hong Kong Station Check-in
and told the flight was overbooked and there would be an
excellent chance for an upgrade. Sure enough, my boarding card was
changed and assigned seat 17E. This is where the pleasantry ended.
Onboard, I was informed that while in what are normally J class seats we
were still in Y class. Do not use the J class toilets and you will be
served Y class food. I appreciated the nice seat but the way in which
the eight people who had been upgraded were addressed did not resemble
the service I have ever received on other 5 star airlines.

MAD-DOH-MNL return for the first time on Qatar Airways at the suggestion
of a Kuwaiti friend. Was I in for a superb surprise! Check in at Madrid
Airport is at Terminal 1. which unlike Terminal 4. is within immediate
reach of the city centre; small, compact and ultra-efficient.
Qatar Airways has a special section and check-in was disciplined -
personnel had a smile and was well groomed. Much to my surprise I could
use my Lufthansa 'Miles & More' card too. Airbus A310, was impeccable
and tastefully appointed. AVOD was fantastic as was the selection of
food and beverages and the crew was polite, professional and well
groomed. Toilets very clean and included moisturisers, face cleansers,
and Etienne Aigner unisex fresh eau de toilette. Comfort kits in Y are
beautiful. On the downside Doha Airport is not fully completed yet and
in spite of being state of the art and impeccable (except for the
smoking lounges which badly require powerful smoke extractors)
disappointed me a little because there were few amenities and a very
limited duty-free shop. Another slightly disappointing feature is that
although I drink very little, on both occasions that I ordered a glass
of white wine with my lunch or dinner it was not properly chilled, and I
was not given the window seat I requested in Madrid on all segments, but
I suppose this is what this Forum is all about; to make constructive
criticism. In closing, Qatar Airways offers the possibility of
affordable and luxurious overnight stays at reasonable prices through
their website. On my next trip to the Far East I'll try it out.
All in all a great experience.

DOH-CMB-DOH of Business Class. The check in at their Premium Terminal
was a breeze. Superb facilities but a bit overcrowded. Great flight
experience on A330-200, FA's attentive and friendly. Onboard food was
good. A fine entertaintment system, but not as good as Emirates. The
return leg was just as good, lounge at Colombo was a bit out of date
though. Overall compared to Emirates deteriorating service and transfer
through Dubai, I would say Qatar Airways is probably the best option
when travelling to Sri Lanka.

LHR to DOH and back business 3 times so far this year, and overall the
experience is very good, certainly once onboard the service is
excellent, as is the food and drink. Check in has been quick an easy on
all occasions. There are however two negatives I have, the first is the
seats, they might end up flat but they are at an angle that I feel I am
slipping of them, and therefore I do not use them in this mode, secondly
being over 6ft tall my feet hang over the edge. The Premier terminal at
Doha is excellent. However the united lounge at LHR is pretty poor, the
comfort is OK but wifi has to be paid for and the only food available is
the odd biscuit - arriving at LHR at 0700 for 11'o'clock flight (the
joys of the M25) I ended up getting breakfast in the main terminal which
somewhat defeats the object of a lounge.

DXB-DOH-LHR Business Class. An excellent airline, usually fly this route
with Virgin or Emirates - both have a good products but Qatar is ahead
and outshines both of them on service and quality. A330 used on DXB-DOH
were comfortable considering the short haul flights. The cabin crew was
fantastic and extremely polite, friendly and courteous. Arrival at DOH a
breeze, shuttle bus to the New Executive Terminal. Excellent amenities -
Had a shower and some food. Flight to LHR delayed by 20 mins but made up
time along the way. A340-600 on the LHR route is now my benchmark in
evaluating comfort and quality - excellent food, cabin crew and
entertainment. The airline is 5 stars throughout.

Economy class return Bangkok to Madrid via Doha. I thought they were OK,
but they were 100 pounds cheaper than other airlines doing this route.
In-flight entertainment system was superb. Food was good. Plenty of
drinks served (we don't see enough of this nowadays). Check-in was
speedy and efficient. Stewardesses were polite and helpful. I don't
think the legroom in economy was all that great to be honest. A delay of
45 minutes on the Madrid - Doha leg and no reason was offered. Because I
only had 1 hour to change plans at Doha for the trip to Bangkok, this
caused me quite a lot of stress. Fortunately'there was also a 40-50
minute delay on the Doha - Bangkok leg. This time a reason was offered -
the late arrival of the Qatar national football team.

F-class Tunis-Doha, J-class Doha-JNB. Check-in at Tunis a nightmare. F
class pax were left standing around for an hour due to a technical
problem. No assistance from Qatar Airways staff. When check-in finally
opened, Tunisair Handling staff sent us to stand in another queue! I
was told they could not give me my boarding card for the DOH-JNB sector,
and on arrival in Doha was told my onward flight had been cancelled by
QR in Tunis, and the flight was full. Fortunately this was rectified.
Onboard service on both sectors was excellent. This is not the first
time I have had a bad landside experience with QR and unless they get it
right I'll stop using their services. Being a top-tier frequent flyer
with them doesn't seem to count much either.

CMB-DOH-KIX-DOH-CMB in J/F. Check in at CMB by Sri Lankan Airlines
which was average. The lounge in CMB for QR is very poor with hardly
any drinks and food. Smooth boarding and once on board it was a bliss.
CMB-DOH in J class brand new A330 with lie flat seats, friendly crew,
good food and beverage. At DOH the new lounge is nice and spacious with
all the facilities you can ask for. However, food and beverage there is
very poor. DOH-KIX in F in an old A330. F class seat full flat and
very comfortable if slightly old. Food and beverage as well as service
are all excellent. QR uses special Japanese porcelain on this route for
serving food which is a nice touch. KIX-DOH in F again, same excellent
service as DOH-KIX. nce at DOH at 5am, the premium terminal is rather
busy in the J class section. Had to wait for 2 hours for my turn for
shower. There was hardly any food available in the lounge. Not even
yogurt or fruits. In this regard EK lounge in DXB is far better. DOH-
CMB was an ok flight. CJ class was full due to uogrades from Y class.
Service was average, food and beverage passable, nothing outstanding.
All in all good experience. QR should improve ground services at DOH to
make it a 5 star airline.

LHR-DOH-KHI RETURN in May 2007. The new A340-600 is now my benchmark in
evaluating comfort. Amazing legroom in economy. A320 used on DOH-KHI
were comfortable considering the short haul flights. It tapered off a
bit on the A330, but mainly because of the high standard set by the
A340. The cabin service was fantastic throughout and crew were extremely
polite, friendly and courteous. The airline is 5 start throughout. If I
were to find a complain I'd say treat all passengers the same. I say
that because I saw the ground staff in KHI and DOH treating the migrant
workers with perhaps less respect and switched back to the normal
friendly mode when dealing with me.

Manchester – Doha – Dubai Economy. Very impressed by service and
attention on board. Flight not full so able to spread out. Parked on a
remote stand on far side of the runway at Doha, so long bus ride to
terminal Bit of a queue for security checks prior to entry to the
transit area but not delayed to long. 45 minute flight on to Dubai in
which a very reasonable snack meal served. Return DXB-DOH with snack
meal and reasonably rapid progress through security at Doha. Boarding
for Manchester flight started on time but long delay waiting for buses
to aircraft. Even longer delay after boarding while the flight
attendants played musical chairs in an attempt to group family members
together. I was asked to move so that a child could be seated next to
one parent but then they found four seats together and seated another
couple where I had been. Eventually, they got everyone seated but the
flight was now delayed for 45 minutes, which was not made up on route.
Having got under way, the service was brilliant and nothing appeared to
be too much trouble for the attendants. One slight glitch at Manchester
when the priority baggage was unloaded last to the great annoyance of
business class and privilege cardholders. Overall though, an excellent
airline. I have already booked my next flight with them.

BKK-MAN-BKK business class. Six months ago Qatar used the Thai main lounge in BKK but they have now moved to spur E which is
much better - a great start to the flight. Onboard service much improved on the BKK-DOH sector; now
almost the same as the DOH-MAN leg - it used to feel like 2 airlines. Seats rather
uncomfortable at the Premium lounge in Doha [buy some cushions] but had a good shower and great
service. The Servisair lounge in Manchester terminal 2 is worse than the public spaces – can Qatar
change to another lounge? All in all the best! Looking forward to my next flight with Qatar.

LGW-DOH-DXB-DOH-LHR excellent airline once you are on the plane. Check
in at LGW was a breeze. Transfer at Doha fine and arrived on time. IFE
excellent and food wonderful, seats comfortable. Check in at Dubai was a
shambles and took forever, although this is not Qatar staff; and
transfer to the Heathrow flight involved a bus journey around the
perimeter fence of half the airport and stopping for 10 minutes whilst a
helicopter landed! All in all one can understand it's 5 star rating. I
wouldn't hesitate to recomend them, especially if they keep up their
cheap fares!

Heathrow - Doha - Trivandrum return in economy class. Usually fly with
Qatar Airways and mostly stress free experience. The outbound flight
from LHR to Doha was delayed by few minutes. The inflight service on
this leg was pretty ordinary. Flight attendants who were looking after
the economy class passengers looked as fresh recruits. The speed with
which the lunch was supplied was the slowest I have experienced in Qatar
Airways. Service on the flight to TVM was spot on and excellent. The
return journey was also very good except the 3 hour delay at Doha. Staff
were at hand at Doha airport advising passengers of the delay and food
coupons were supplied. Children were allowed to choose their favourite
items from the food court instead of the pre-assigned meals. This really
pleased them and made the delay more manageable for us. The Doha airport
is now really coming up to good standards. Plenty of space to sit and
relax and more food courts with choices. The Airbus 340 is great, bit
more leg room (I think) and good AVOD. Overall, it was a good trip but
could have been better.

Second business trip with QR, in J class. FRA-DOH QR028, very good
check-in, pleasant and convenient LH lounge directly above the gate.
Newish A330-300 same seats in J as the A340-600īs, with F class, only
one Y class section. Superb crew and service, food excellent. IFE had
the live TV feature, able to watch the french election result live on
BBC! Movies exactly same selection as April, no change. Only short 2
hour transit in DOH, rather full premium terminal business lounge. DOH-
PVG Shanghai QR888, A330-200, again pleasant flight, slightly different
seats and content of IFE slightly updated. Almost reached gold level in
their privilege program already (silver since first roundtrip!). Getting
a bit tired of the amenity kit, but at least they still give out
something significant (Aigner). Flight attendants stand out as
forthcoming and friendly, way to go! Excellent announcements from the
flight deck (usually foreign pilot).

Manchester-Doha-Dubai Economy return. Boarding at Manchester was
chaotic. Audio and video the best experienced bar none. Hub operation at
Doha seemed to be at breaking point and the security controls on arrival
resembled a cattle market. No wonder there is a separate terminal for
other classes of travel. Satisfactory snack on short flight to Dubai. On
return from Dubai a number of passengers made a scene at having to
comply with cabin baggage requirements but this was only attended to in
the departure lounge and on the air bridge. After re-familiarisation
with the airport bus station at Doha and once again unannounced
boarding, we re-joined the same aircraft for the onward flight to MAN.
Delayed departure blamed on inbound aircraft but, as we had been on it,
that did not account for yet further slippage. A shortage of buses
seemed to be the problem. All flights on A330-300s, which were very
comfortable - slept well on return flight to Manchester. The hub
operation at Doha gives all indications of having exceeded the capacity
for an airport without air bridges and which is completely reliant on
bussing to/from aircraft. 5-star ranking over-rates the economy
experience, especially when journeys involve a transfer at Doha.

Lon/Doha/Manila First/Business return. United lounge not up to Qatar's
usual standard, could do with changing this. LHR-DOH superb in First,
met by car transported to First/Business terminal with ease. DOH-MNL in
Business, not up to usual standard, flight attendant a little
disinterested, Inflight entertainment system up the creek and very
frustrating for 9 hours not being able to watch what was advertised (it
was in fact the return flight films with different menu). Priority
offloading in Manila 1st class. MNL-DOH business much better,
disappointing to have the same in flight menu. Only one and half hours
in Doha and then transferred by car to new A340. Arrival at LHR,
priority off loading terrible, our bags came off almost last after 45
mins. But overall Qatar is tops, but they do ask us to air our views.

MAN-DOH-DEL and back J class. MAN-DOH leg was terrible. The lounge used
in T2 is shared with most other airlines and terrible. After waiting to
be bussed to the aircraft, business class passengers were not given
priority boarding. A330-300 was immaculate. The service onboard was very
slow. All food options were gone when I ordered. My food arrived cold
and I sent it back and asked the crew to let me sleep. On waking I asked
for some tea which was brought to me promptly and was told that I had
had some fruit and ice cream and some snacks saved for me. This was a
pleasant surprise. DOH-DEL, late night flight so mainly slept. I asked
for an eye shade and it was brought immediately. I was not disturbed. As
soon as I awoke, a flight attendant noticed and immediately offered me
food and drink. It was service with a smile. The crew on this flight
were outstanding. I travelled with a friend on the return flight. On
check in at DEL we were immediately upgraded to F class as an apology
for my bad flight previously (I hadn't even complained). F class was
superb. The crew were so attentive. The meal service was second to none,
excellent quality food. An outstanding flight. DOH-MAN, only J class
cabin on this flight but again fantastic service, immaculate aircraft,
good food. The Qatar J class seats are not as comfortable as Virgin
Upper Class (my usual carrier) and it's more difficult to sleep at a 160
degree angle. Premium terminal at Doha is fantastic. Overall outstanding
service at a very good price. It's a shame about my initial flight which
I have put down to a one off. I can see why Qatar are a five star
airline and will use them again.

J Class Munich-Doha-Hong Kong. First time to try QR and am extremely
pleased with the experience, on top of that business round trip for
approx. Euro 2500! Qatar uses LH lounge in MUC Terminal 2, which is
nice, nothing special. Flight on time, new A332, business seat angled
but comfortable, nice service, food good. Transit for about 3 hrs in
Doha nice, terminal is in top shape, no smoke like Abu Dhabi, not too
crowded. Bus to First/Exec terminal - a very large business lounge,
free wifi and food, great kids play room with playstation and all
gadgets the kids love. Very attentive staff! Only 20 min. before take
off flight is called and all business / first pax ferried by bus
directly to the plane. New A340-600, coach seemed 90% full load,
business was not even half full, no first pax. What a great plane.
Business seats have more space than A332, almost lie flat, large
screens. Again outstanding service, food again fantastic. Arrival in HKG
without a hitch! Even though we left Doha one hr late, we arrived in HKG
before schedule. QR way to go, in my view better than Emirates or Etihad
at the moment (with the note that Etihadīs business seat is better full
flat). Other German next to me paid only 1800Euro for MUC-HKG return in
J class, thats a bargain. I am a Solitaire PPS member of SQ and am
slowly but surely giving my business to QR and other airlines due to
rediculous business class fares and changes in their frequent flyer
program. QR keep up your consistency with growth!

MAN-DOH-SIN-DOH-MAN. Business. Servisair Lounge at Manchester was
packed. Not great start but everything else was excellent. Service
great. Food good. IFE system good. I liked the seat a lot - it feels
quite enclosed and actually got a lot of sleep, although not entirely
flat. Far better than KLM WBC seat and CO BF seat which I have used in
last few weeks. Terminal at Doha is excellent - good food and space.
Flight to SIN was delayed because of ground transportation of
passengers. Airline is clearly expanding quicker than airport.
Best Business product I have used in a long time.

LHR-DOH First, DOH-CPT Business 6th/7th March. smooth check in and Fast
Track through at LHR. Invited to United lounge, which was OK. Flight
A330-300 boarded early and pre-flight drinks available. Meal requests
were asked for but as sitting in 3A my choice was not available - I was
advised if there was a surplus in business I might be lucky! Seats
comfortable with flat bed. Arrival at Doha was great, car waiting to
take you to the new Premium Terminal and stariaght through into Business
Lounge. Business to Cape Town via Jo'burg was in an olde A330-200 which
did show its age, uncomfortable recliner seats, but Cabin staff
fantastic. Again both pre and post take off drinks service, albeit a
lesser quality champagne, but at least food choice available.
Disappointing not to be offered sleep suit. CPT-DOH Business. Invited
to the Business Lounge, which was a different class to the United at LHR
- airy, light and comfortable,. Again boarded early this aircraft more
up to date and more comfortable, both pre and post take off drink
service offered without delay. Cabin staff attentive. Arrived DOH early
and used the bus for transfer for the flight to LHR. Care was needed as
the bus stops first at the old terminal and a couple of passengers had
to be called back as they were also transferring to LHR. First Class
Lounge was pleasant, used the shower facility and the service there was
excellent, fresh towels provided bathrobe and even slippers! Flight back
to LHR was overnight, A330-300. Sleep suit provided immediately after
pre flight drinks and cabin staff were very attentive, what First Class
service should be. Food was not as plentiful, especially the caviar but
OK.

Business. LHR-Doha-SIN return. Excellent service, food, attention,
lounges (Doha). Agreed with previous comments that bed at a sliding
angle, but still slept well. Connections in Doha tends to be tight for
everyone - most transit passengers got very anxious as outbound LHR
flight was delayed. No announcement on board to reassure passengers or
give instructions. Overall, great value for money - one of the best
business class services.

Berlin-Doha-Bangkok return, Berlin-Doha-Dubai return, partly business,
both flights in spring 2007. Yes, Qatar is a quality airline. But
economy class is overrated. Our flight from Berlin to Dubai was
overbooked, we were redirected via Milano in Alitalia (which comes close
to punishment) and Emirates. We got a voucher for compensation which we
wanted to use for an upgrade into business class on our way back from
Doha to Berlin. Seats in business were available but we had to insist
for two endless hours at the transfer desk in Doha until they finally
accepted the vouchers issued in Berlin. Qatar business class is without
fail, economy is not so spotless. AVOD is perfect but food mediocre.
Doha transfer terminal offers the charms and options of a bus terminal.

London-Doha-Seoul in Business. London-Doha thought "so this is what all
the fuss is about". Outstanding food and wine, great staff, brand new
plane. An example to everyone else. Doha-Seoul code share with Air China
and food back to traditional airline standards but staff attention still
outstanding. As I pay for myself I was interested to see that there are
much better prices on myqatar.com than on any of the usual airline price
websites.

LHR to Bangkok, Manila to LHR. First out/in to LHR, Business other two
sectors. Shame Qatar use the uninspiring and tired United lounge at
Heathrow. Just does not relect the style and quality of Qatar. The new
Airbus 346 is outstanding and the lounge area reminded me of a private
jet. Very attentive and smiling staff from London but unfortunately
almost the opposite on the return leg. More of that later. The new
business/first terminal at Doha is very good although seems busier and
less exclusive than I thought it would be. An indicator of how
successful Qatar has become and good for them. The first lounge has
wonderful spa and shower facilities and very well trained staff. Doha
Far East connections in business very good. AVOD and comfortable seats
made for a relaxing trip with no issues at all. Return leg chaotic from
Manila and again a poor Northwest lounge, Only 7 people in Business but
everything fine and managed the best sleep of the entire trip, including
hotels ! Back on to a 346 at Doha and here I'm afraid the service was
mediocre to say the least. Male chief purser introduced himself but the
female attendant obviously got out of bed the wrong side. Usually I'm
addressed by name but there was none of that and the amount of time she
spent in the toilets was unbelievable, emerging each time with more
perfume. Was more than happy to walk past everyone in First without any
enquiry as to well being and I was truly very suprised by her level of
service. She forgot my post take off drink, then forgot my canapes which
arrived with my starter and thereafter everything was a rush so as she
could clear away. Had to ask for my coat on landing before she again
disappeared into the toilet, No thank you on leaving the aircraft to any
of the passengers from the lady concerned. Shame, as this is the lasting
impression of the trip which we all commented on. I'll of course
continue to use Qatar which without a doubt is the best airline in the
world.

LHR-DOH-SIN return in Business Class. United lounge at Heathrow just
about adequate but nothing more - no food selection at all unless you
include prepacked cheese and crackers and pretzels. Flight delayed
around 1hour which worrying as had tight connection time at DOH and at
SIN. Flew A340-600 which lovely plane. Slightly disorganised service for
first hour or so - post take off drink took over 45 mins after take off
to arrive. Service settled down and was good but not spectacular.
Food/wine/AVOD very good indeed. Short time in new premium terminal at
DOH which very impressive. Flight to SIN delayed luckily (not sure if
because of late arrival of 2 LHR flights). DOH - SIN leg on older A330
and seat/legroom poorer - service better and food/wine again very good.
Return journey on newer A330 to DOH and A340-600 to LHR. SATS lounge
used in Changi OK - wine selection poor but it was 2AM so not too
bothered. Food poorer on these legs for some reason and lacking in
quantity. Had to ask crew for everything, whether more food or drinks.
Staff seemed to spend most of the time in the galley crashing around.
Flight around 20 minutes late leaving DOH, further compounded by the
usual circling before landing at LHR. Overall good experience -
A340-600 with good food and better service would (just) match the likes
of CX and MH in my opinion ut consistency needs to improve and
timekeeping seems to be an issue - if QR are looking to capture the Far
East market for business and pleasure from Europe this needs addressing.
Staff seem pleasant but a bit unsure as to what they should be doing.

Very disappointed with Qatar airways, which is the only airline
available for daily flights between Amman and Doha. They have now
bumped me off a flight once, and my wife once. On both occasions the
flights were heavily overbooked. I was bumped off the flight with around
twenty passengers. My wife similarly. Instead of apologies, efforts to
rebook us and compensation, the ground staff simply blamed us for not
arriving two hours before the flight. However the airline's website
clearly states that checkin does not close in Amman till 45 minutes
before the flight.

FRA-DOH-HKG and return in Business Class. Brand new aircraft (A330),
excellent seats with lots of legroom. The inflight service on all 4 legs
of the journey was tops. Friendly, competent and always one step ahead.
The new First and Biz Class Terminal in DOH is a real treat. Modern and
luxurious with lots of room to rest. Food and beverages on offer in
abundance. Service always friendly. If only the cattle-call like pax
handling at FRA airport could step up to the level of QR service - but
unfortunately this is out of the hands of QR. Bottom line - price-
service combination of QR is unbeatable and makes the longer transit
times worthwhile. I will fly them again soon!

In Doha Airport, the new Premium Terminal for business/first class
passengers looked impressive with its water features and plush
interiors. The customer service desk staff was very efficient, helpful
and friendly. Duty Free shop looked good too. However, in the business
centre the internet did not work, and when it did, I was informed it was
therefore slow. What could also be improved was the selection of reading
material in the Business Class lounge - there were hardly any English
language newspapers or magazines except for a Gulf-based newspaper. The
drinks selection was very good indeed but the food catering was merely
passable and not very imaginative. There was also no notice to say that
it was their rule that passengers needed to sit at a restaurant table to
eat savoury dishes but it was okay to eat desserts in the lounge.
However, waiters were very attentive in removing used glasses and
plates. The toilets were spotless but when I asked attendent to be shown
how to use the shower, he did not know how to do it and simply shrugged
his shoulders.

The flights going out were excellent and staff were kind and the plane
was nice with televisions. On the way back flight was overbooked so we
got changed to Thai Airways - a 12 hour flight with no PTV's. We were
unable to read as they turned are lights off.

MAN-DOH-DXB in economy. Don't hesitate, Qatar is a quality item. Comfy
seats with good adjustment. Food quite good, including ample hot
breakfast on way back. Cabin service good if a little leisurely. AVOD
terrific. No real downsides to report. The armrest is somewhat
uncomfortable to lean on, as it houses the AVOD remote control. Doha to
Dubai has rather more utilitarian cabin service; lots of migrant workers
who are treated a little more directly than Europeans but still with
politeness and patience. Overnight flight has nice amenity kit with
shades, earplugs, toothbrush and flight socks. Quality touch for
economy.

LGW-DOH-BKK and return in Business. Nothing much wrong with these
flights that avoiding London's wretched second airport wouldn't have
cured for us. Politeness to premium customers is clearly not part of
the deal at Gatwick. Onboard everything was very pleasant. Newish A330
planes on all four legs with great service, comfort and punctuality.
Qatar need to check their audio systems though. I had sound on one
channel only on one leg and none at all on another. Otherwise an
excellent airline and I concur with all the many positive comments here.

LHR-DOH-MLE-DOH-LHR in Economy. Signage for check-in at LHR is confusing and we went to the wrong
end of the terminal. When we found the right area check-in was about to open, and we were called
forward, only to be left waiting at the desk for 10 minutes while the staff held a meeting.
Presented our United Mileage Plus cards, we received the miles on our accounts before we
returned 12 days later. However, they only applied the miles to the outward journey, so now have to
send boarding cards to the US for mileage credit for the return flights. Flight was full, but
boarding efficient. FA showed us to our seats, which was a nice touch and something I have never
encountered in Y before. Good seating on the A340-600, although I found the seats a bit hard. My
partner found them very comfortable, so I guess it was my bony rear end that caused the problem! The
seat do recline a long way, which can be a nuisance, especially when the person in front reclines
with force during the meal service. However, there was good tilt on the seatback screens and they
can be viewed at any angle. Window seat legroom is somewhat limited by the metal box containing the
workings of the IFE system. The multi-national crew were attentive and courteous, and made the
flight very pleasant. Food was of the quality expected. I was a bit hungry during the flight, and
only found out later that there were snacks available from the galleys. AVOD system was excellent,
once you worked out how to get out of the Arabic part of the system. Flight from DOH-MLE was on
older A330-200. Similar level of comfort, but the IFE system controls were attached to the armrest,
and difficult to use. Even the cabin crew had trouble working them when passengers needed help. It
would be helpful if they distributed the Maldives landing cards on the flight, rather than have all
the passenger fill them out on arrival. Other airlines do this. Return flights were much the same,
except the A330 from MLE was updated to the same as the A340. All in all a good experience, and I
would definitely fly QR again.
