LAX-MEL A380 First class Seat 2A. Great cabin with a 1-1-1 layout. 2A or 3A look to be the two
best seats in that first class cabin. Plenty to eat, but average food quality, (inflight
catering out of LAX is bad on all airlines I have flown) however the flight crew was
outstanding and well trained in passenger service - light years better than US carriers when
it comes to high-end service. Was able to sleep 9 hours. Lots of room and very good bedding.
One hand held panel controls everything from lowering window shades, entertainment, TV monitor
and all seat movements.

SYD-BKK, Check in staff at Sydney Airport very unfriendly. IFE fails, needs to be reset 3
times - then fails again. Food eatable, but not from the highest quality. Skybed uncomfortable
not a flat bed either. Qantas is overpriced, and not a premium product at all.

Brisbane to Perth, an excellent flight! Crew friendly and engaging, albeit boarding was
delayed by 15 minutes. Food was good, entertainment system was also good.

SYD-SIN-FRA, a flight that takes over 20 hours and was packed with X-mas crowd and lots of
hand luggage. FA was not helping with finding room for bags in overhead compartments and
didn't think of actually helping lift a bag, though it was clearly not the passenger's fault
that others had taken up all the room before her. IFE had a great selection, but I preferred
the one British Airways offered on my flight to Sydney. Food fine and plenty, again BA more
delicious. FAs on British Airways definitely warmer and kinder, with more smiles. Qantas
personnel were also polite (except for the rude one with the baggage) , but anything but warm.
My light was broken as was the button for calling FAs, so I couldn't read at all, since it was
a red eye flight. When I told them they couldn't be bothered. Then the IFE system broke down,
but this was on the second leg from SIN to FRA and FA was more helpful and finally fixed it,
but could not before the entire IFE system broke down on the whole plane for about an hour. I
had tried to buy exit row seats before my trip, but couldn't on my way to Sydney, since it was
a Qantas ticket and a BA flight, so neither system would let me do it. They really need to
solve this absurdity. Overall an okay experience on the Qantas flight, but I will choose BA if
I have a chance on this route even if it costs a little extra.

BNE-ADL.B737-800. Evening flight, no meal just a 1 cookie. Considering the flight was over 2
hours and during dinner time I was expecting something more than a cookie. Aircraft looked
tired and worn. Inflight entertainment boring - I expected more.

MEL-SYD 737-800. Arrived to a very dirty overcrowded Qantas club. Food on the floor, no where
to sit (had to sit on a window sill) and long lines to get a drink at the bar. Food also was
an issue with the staff failing to replace the empty trays at the self service area. Flight
departed late with some announcements made and arrive 40 mins late. Crew on board were
reasonably helpful. I used the Qantas Valet parking and ended up waiting 45 mins just to get
my car back.

Perth - Sydney - Canberra recently. PER-SYD on a fairly modern A330. The cabin crew, didn't
smile a lot - just did their job and then disappeared, only coming out once to hand out water.
The entertainment was awful - only drop down screens which showed a boring movie, and then TV
episodes until the end of the flight. SYD-CAN leg on an ancient B737, seats looked worn-out
and plane looked as it hadn't been cleaned in months. The cabin crew on this short leg were
kinder and actually smiled!

Queenstown-Sydney on older B737-800. Seating is domestic configuration. Older crew but very
warm and engaging. Delicious Penang Curry among choice of 3 main courses and generous and
varied selection of wines. Priority immigration clearance invitation is a plus. Baggage
promptly delivered and CIQ clearance a breeze - admittedly arriving in the mid afternoon lull helped).

Frankfurt - Singapore - Sydney, 747-400 in the mainly economy + business section configuration
(ie no first or premium - doesn't affect much, except boarding and disembarking takes longer).
Reasonable legroom - I was surprised as I am 6'1". Food good - pretty standard economy fare:
except very small portions in the 2nd leg (SIN-SYD) - a hot brekky on the first leg and only
fruit and pastry on 2nd - it is an 8 hour flight! AVOD excellent choices. Staff helpful if you
want to go and ask for something extra - a drink or snack or something between meals. Better
than BA at the moment.

Perth-Melbourne-Sydney. Cabin crew friendly and looked after passengers well. Foods are
satisfying. The only downside is the IFE on long route such as Perth to Melbourne. For 4 hours
in the air, there is virtually no entertainment.

London to Sydney on A380, Sydney to London on 747-400. Very helpful and friendly check in
people at Heathrow. The flight down was brilliant - AVOD system amazing with loads of games,
movies and TV shows. The "help yourself" bar for snacks and fruit at the back of the plane was
good. Staff friendly, A380 is beautiful inside and so smooth. Coming back was on the 747-400
and the only downside is that they don't switch on the AVOD system until you are in the air.
but crew were friendly. There was plenty of food and drink on the flight, and the selection
of movies and TV is excellent.

CNS-SYD on 737-800. Chose this flight as Qantas was the best value on this day. Aircraft is
showing it's age and the entertainment still appears to be VHS, but showing the safety
procedure on the drop down screens is a good idea. It appears to me the older crew on Qantas
don't have the enthusiasm as some of the younger crew on Qantas Group airline Jetstar. While
meals and drink were provided, I found the service to be rushed (for a three hour flight) and
without a smile. I would recommend Qantas if it offers a competitive fare, otherwise it is
very hit and miss and doesn't offer much of a competitive advantage for a domestic service so
fly on a budget airline and purchase food and still get from A to B.

Flight from Buenos Aires to Sydney. When is Qantas getting flat beds, an entertainment system
that works, and improves the food quality? Flew business class, and there they are the old
fashion seats, not much room. The flight is 14 hours plus, and has a premium price, where
Qantas is the most expensive one, but has not the best product. On the way to South America I
flew with another oneworld member - 40 percent cheaper, flat bed, great functunual
entertainment system, great meals.

HKG to LHR in business class. Sat upstairs and was able to grab 8 hrs sleep on one of the more
comfortable seats around (along with CX) and entertained by VOD system. FSD did have to re-
boot it due to some passengers not having successful start-up when system was originally
turned on. Crew upstairs never seemed rushed even though only spare seat!
