"a very good experience"

Trip Verified | First flight with Porter and will fly with them again. Booking with them was seamless, as was advance check-in and gate check-in. I did not have checked bags so cannot speak to that part of the experience but there was ample room in the overhead compartment for a standard carry-on bag and lots of room under the seat for personal items. Boarding after the usual assisted and family went by row, beginning with the rear of the plane. This made boarding quick, easy and everyone was seated a full 8 minutes before scheduled departure. Push back from the gate was precisely on time. The single-aisle plane has a 2x2 configuration, so no middle seats. The setback pockets were quite small with only enough room for a small bottle of water and a book. There is no in-seat entertainment, however, there is free wifi onboard to connect with movies, music, etc. and there is a power outlet for every seat. On a 4 hour flight, a variety of complimentary snacks and beverages were served twice, including domestic wine in an actual glass (classy). The plane was spotless and the seats were comfortable. There was one small washroom at the back of the plane which was also very clean and well stocked. Overall a very good experience.

"credit card not in my name"

Trip Verified | I booked through a third party and Porter would not let me check in due to “credit card not in my name”. They cancelled my flight and refused to refund my money. I booked a second flight directly through the airline with my credit card, one hour later, and Porter canceled my flight again because I did not check in 3 hours early! I had to buy a first class $1100 united flight, which gave me zero problems and my boarding pass in moments.

"worst airline we’ve flown"

Trip Verified | My family (wife and 3 young kids) were supposed to fly from Orlando to Vancouver with a connection in Ottawa last week. The flight was late leaving Orlando so we missed our connection and had to get a hotel in Ottawa. They said they would hold the flight for us but our bags would not be on the flight so we would have to go back to yvr the next day to collect 5 huge suitcases which is 90 minutes away. So because we didn’t want to do this, they said it was our choice to not catch the flight to Vancouver at 8 pm Tuesday night. Not only did Porter lose our car seats already, (checked in as oversized) but the communication was very bad and they didn’t offer us a dime for any of these out of pocket extra costs (approx $400 CAD) The following morning we had to be up at 5 to make it to Pearson, before flying to yvr at 13:00. After sitting patiently at our gate for 4 hours, we knew our plane had still not arrived and it was getting close for our time to board, then 10 Minutes before our flight began to board they made an announcement that our gate had been changed our gate from b2a to B39 at Pearson which is quite the hike to make it to our gate. (With 5 backpacks and 3 young kids!) We were very sweaty once we finally got to the gate. We finally boarded at 12:30 and then we’re informed that our 13:00 flight departure would be delayed at least an hour for maintenance. We left the gate after 14:00. Once finally in the air we were informed by the attendant that with an hour still left in our flight the lavatories were full so no one could go to the washroom for that whole time. Very big ask for 3 kids on a 5 hour flight. This was our first time flying to Porter and we were so excited and hopeful that this would be a great experience. It was the worst airline we’ve flown with and we’ve been on swoop, flair, air Canada, west jet, united, southwest, and Alaska in the last year.

Trip Verified | I came to request a flight change at the airport counter of Porter. There was reports of bad weather and I was hoping to head to Toronto earlier. The counter staff Sol and Myra were amazing. They processed the request with a smile. Hard to find good service these days and this needs to be recognized. I appreciate the assistance.

"Not a good experience"

Trip Verified | Our flight from Halifax, NS to Ottawa, ON via Toronto ON, on Dec 27/23, was delayed leaving Halifax by over 1 hr and thus we missed our connecting flight from Toronto to Ottawa. We were rebooked on the next flight at 2:10, but not given a meal vouchers (even though we were there over lunch) and assured our luggage would be in Ottawa when we got there. However, our AirTag showed it never left Toronto. We started a delayed baggage claim and were told it would be delivered to Ottawa the next day. But we watched (via the air tag) the luggage flying back to Halifax, staying there 2 days and eventually flying to Ottawa, via Toronto. Late on the afternoon of Dec 31, we went to the airport (after the bag had been there for 2 days) and convinced 2 Porter attendants to search for it. After 1 hr of searching it was found, if we hadn't done this who knows how long it would have been before we got our luggage, as it was already 5 days and we were flying back home early on Jan 2/24. We submitted a delayed baggage claim (for the 5 days worth of clothes and toiletries we had to buy) over 4 weeks ago and haven't heard anything, tried to submit a delay of flight claim, but told since the delay was out of Porter's control it was a no go. Not a good experience and wouldn't recommend this airline.

"delayed for 7 hours"

Trip Verified | At first our flight from Florida to Ottawa was delayed for 4 hours, they said it was due to weather conditions, but there wasn’t even snow in Ottawa. our flight from Ottawa to Toronto was delayed for 7 hours, we are now sitting at the airport all night until the morning, the company does not provide a hotel, does not provide meals and in general they absolutely do not care where and how their passengers are

Trip Verified |  Flight 517 YOW-FLL scheduled dep time 1645. We boarded at 16h15. We sat in the aircraft till 18H00. Conflicting news from captain and cabin attendants. 20 people boarded late. I dont recall flights waiting for me when I was late. We arrived one hour late in FLL. Return flight 518 on the 11th STD 17:15. Inbound flight was late, we departed late, arrived in Ottawa late. Waited 30 minutes for our luggage. Flight attendant serves the "squeaking wheels" in priority. Not acceptable. Next time we will pay more and fly with a reliable airline.

Not Verified |   We had to sit in the plane, on the ground, for 1.5 hours with zero information. All of a sudden someone comes on and tells us the flight has been canceled, apparently they had messed up the boarding process and were trying to fix it but because it took too long, the crew wasn’t allowed to work more hours. The rebooking/hotel situation was a shit show. They had one guy working the desk and it took over 2 hours to get help. On top of that, the guy was very rude… Not impressed. Was rebooked to a flight 2 days (!?) later and was denied compensation for delayed/cancelled flight because “the flight was under 3 hours delayed”. How dare they.

“I should have known better”

Trip Verified | I should have known better. 5 hour delay and counting. I know in part it is due to weather but all other airlines are flying in and out of Montreal with much lesser delays. It burns me that I am sitting here watching Air Canada, WestJet etc depart to Toronto. This happened this past June when I flew to Ottawa. Your staff are so curt and show no degree of caring. They do not go out of their way to check info but instead tell you to check the board or web site. On such a competitive business you would think they could go the extra mile.
