Manila-Calbayog return. My local travel agent (NZ) said she couldn't book domestic flights to
Calbayog so I went online and did it myself via the PAL express website. I found it easy to
use and the fares were quite cheap. As expected we had delays in both directions. Going to
Calbayog there was a 3hr delay, but the ground staff gave us a free meal. On the return trip
we had about a two hour delay. The aircraft was still newish, quite comfortable and roomy.
Flight time was about 1.5hrs and being a budget airline there were no free snacks or drinks.
The only thing to be aware of is the checkin baggage allowance. It is only 10kg per person.
excess weight was charged at P112 per kilo. Hand carry allowance is 7kg. I would fly PAL
express again.

PAL Express is Philippine Airlines low-cost brand and operates a turbo-prop fleet of Q300 and Q400s.
It normally operates the feeder routes, secondary and tertiary airports. I took the MNL-Boracay
flight, which took only 40 minutes. Service was good. Cabin was spacious. Legroom was even better
than the parent airline's. However, no drinks or food are served on all flights. Service is very
average, but the tickets are cheap. They also operate separately from PAL. Flights originate from
NAIA Terminal 3, which at this time is just too lifeless.
