Friendly check-in, staff almost overstressed that they were there to serve the customer.
Delayed take off (2hrs) at Lagos Murtala Mohammed Int'l Airport at different boarding gate
without announcement. Oldish 737-400, good leg room in economy class. Business class was
packed with off duty staff in uniforms. Dirty seats, friendly captain via PA. Stupidly simple
service (juice, more juice). Aircraft was super cold, fell asleep after a short stop in Accra,
woke up first by intense smell (turned out to be the catering, fish and rice), fell asleep,
woke up again when flight attendant threw blanket at me. Flight attendants were eager to be
professional and security conscious - which gave them a rude note, sometimes, freaking out
about my headphones (no electronic devices!) even when not in use, for example. Another short
stop in Banjul/Gambia, then finally arriving in Dakar and jumping a massive immigration queue.
Overall, not the worst for West Africa, felt safe, but one of the few flights where I
renounced saying "thanks" to the cabin crew.
