JFK to AMS. Check-in disorganized, slow and staff were surly, rude and inefficient. No
indication and no signage where Skyteam Elite passengers should check in. When I asked to talk
to the supervisor, she was even ruder than her staff. I've never seen anything like this kind
of behavior in 20 years of flying Northwest as a Platinum member. Must now be corporate
policy. If this is the way that Delta is taking over Northwest, they'll end up alienating
their customers.

LHR-MSP-LHR. Spotless aircraft (A330) Efficient friendly crew. Shame you now have to pay £5
for a drink other than beer or wine. Had a slight personality problem, wasn't sure if it was
Northwest or Delta! Meals a bit lacking in quantity for a 8 hour flight. Breakfast on the
return flight particularly disappointing. Muffin which apparently contained cheese and egg.
Even the crew joked about them. IFE - good selection. Seats OK, beware of window seats, IFE
box inhibits legroom. Overall a perfectly acceptable experience and a great price.

LHR-MSP-SFO return. Outbound on the newish A330 I found the cabin service impressive and
attentive. AVOD worked well and a large choice. Box under seat in front on window seats
impedes on legroom space so be cautious if over 5'11". Food by far was much more appealing on
outbound flight as was the service. B757 on SFO-MSP had seen better days; externally you could
see patches above the cockpit window! The interior was retro to say the least! Service on MSP-
LHR fell well behind outbound flight with cabin crew reluctantly replying to Thank you's.
However for a fare under £300 you can't go wrong. All planes left on time and arrive a little early!

Mumbai-AMS. Plane OK, food OK, customer service and crew very inconsistent. Some were arrogant
and it looked like they hated their jobs, others were friendly. Fly them if they offer cheaper
fares, otherwise look for other alternatives.

SNA-MSP-DTW-ERI return. Purchased coach choice exit rows on each mainline flight; to me it's
a cheap upgrade and worth the cost. Service onboard ranged from friendly to indifferent, but
professional. The only two complaints were malfunctioning kiosks at check-in in SNA (now with
DL) and the lack of pre-boarding for the exit row, a former NW tradition.

HNL-SEA, flight was full, I upgraded for $250USD. FA's excellent, food was okay. B757-300
was old and tired, first class seats worn, tray tables didn't latch very well. IFE was small
overhead TV's and sound quality was poor. I was shocked to see cheap headsets in First.

Buffalo to Calgary via Minneapolis. Check in was fast and asking for and getting an overwing
seat for extra legroom was no problem. A320, enthusiastic cabin staff. We brought our food so
only had the complimentary coffee and sodas. The transfer went well and I have to say it was a
very pleasant experience.

Amsterdam to Las Vegas via Minneapolis on A330-300. Plane excellent, clean and modern with
good seat width and legroom - even the seats with IFE underneath. IFE of a decent quality
and the food was excellent outbound and decent inbound. Cabin crew very friendly and happy to
keep the drinks flowing all flight long. All connections left on time, so all in all a great
experience.

MEM-AMS. A330 in beautiful condition and entertainment facilities excellent. The staff however
were disgraceful, and I could not believe how unprofessional they were.

San Francisco - Honolulu B757-300. The flight was the cabin crew's first with their new Delta
uniforms. Cabin crew friendly, and markedly young considering HNL routes often seem plagued by
bored, apathetic, and surly staff. Check-in efficient, though nothing exceptional as far as
ground crew attitudes were concerned. Audio/video decent and free - though I much prefer NW's
A330 that currently flies the HNL-MSP route (8.5 hours with no complimentary meal service,
perhaps one of the longest flights on a US carrier without so much as a bag of pretzels).
Definitely preferred over AA, US, and UA to Hawaii, but as for other carriers, it's more of a
hit or miss in my mind.

MNL-NRT round trip business class on mileage award. The aircraft was in good condition, seats
comfortable and angled lie-flat. Food acceptable, and most FA's were pleasant. The purser on
my outbound flight was sullen. I chose the lighter option champagne supper for my return meal.
Good quality food. AVOD adequate with good film choices. I especially loved the pillow and
duvets.

AMS-PDX. I found the aircraft comfortable, staff friendly and courteous, and onboard flight
entertainment varied. It is of course possible to get much better levels of food, beverage,
and service when in flight these days, but only at price. To get from A to B at the lowest
price and get a level of service that exceeds expectation, then NWA is fine.

I recently travelled with Northwest Airlines to Los Angeles via Detroit from London Heathrow
in Business Class. Whilst the space onboard is excellent; everything else is very 2nd class
standard. I was served an omelette breakfast which was beautifully described by the cabin
crew and I quote 'bland with no taste!' on my flight to Detroit. I couldn't agree more - what
a totally disappointment. The fine dinning service continued down the same road for the rest
of the flight to be totally honest. No service was offered after the breakfast meal until 45
minutes before landing. It you wanted a drink or a snack - it was a "help yourself" service -
was that to allow the cabin crew time to read the magazines onboard. Is this the service
offering in business class these days! Snacks consisted of packets of crisps, nuts and fruit -
by this time I am wondering what is left to surprise me! The meal before landing consisted of
the left over meats/cheeses from the breakfast platter. The food on the flight from Detroit -
- Los Angeles was at least edible. I have travelled with other airlines in business class - I
really would consider travelling with someone else next time and I would recommend you do the
same!

Flew over the Easter weekend MSY-LGA with MEM transit. The seating was reshuffled on both
sectors resulted that my partner and I were separated. MSY-MEM was on old DC9 which was well
refurbished and it was a full flight. MEM-LGA was on A319 in which the seat condition is more
worn out than DC9. This flight is not full so I can switch seat next to my partner. FAs were
friendly. I am not sure why NW shuffled the confirmed seat assignment which was booked 2
months earlier.

Syracuse-Denver via Detroit. NWA appears to be improving. Coach seat in DC9 on first leg
actually comfortable. All flights on time. Pilot kept passengers informed of turbulence and
wait to get into gait. No IFE on any US NWA flight is only thing that could use improvement.

AMS-PDX-AMS. The aircraft was clean and comfortable, though I take the point that some seats
are unsuitable for taller passengers due to the IFE boxes. Such passengers should try and
ensure an aisle seat, as these do not have the boxes. Though some of the staff were not young,
I did find all were pleasant and attentive during the flight, and also very courteous. I find
disparaging remarks about their age to be unreasonable when we are supposed to be giving an
impartial and objective review. The food was good on both trips, and alcoholic beverages are
free when requested, or when the drinks trolley comes round. The entertainment onboard is very
good, with a great selection of movies to suit everyone. This was the cheapest ticket I could
get for this route, and I was more than happy with the service provided. A lot of reviewers
ought to remember if they want four star service they should pay more.
