KUL-FCO-KUL ( Class. Opted for Malaysia Airlines as it was the most convenient to travel to Rome
without lengthy stopovers. Both legs on B777 - Malaysia Airlines is one of the few airlines with
generous seat pitch (34") in Economy. Great selection AVOD. Cabin crew polite and efficient, may be
a bit robotic at times but friendly. Crew were fast to answer calls from passengers and made several
rounds of drinks. Two meals and a small snack were offered during the flight. The meals were quite
good although the portion has shrunk over the years.

London-Kuala Lumpur-Siem Reap, return Phnom Penh-Kuala Lumpur-London. Reasonable check in at
Heathrow although unable to issue boarding card for flight KL-Siem Reap, which necessitated having
to queue up at transfer desk at KL. Good flight with good crew on both legs of the outward trip.
Another good crew Phnom Penh to Kuala Lumpur but very disinterested crew for KL-Heathrow leg who
were unable to smile, slow to answer call buttons and seemed disinterested in safety - eg seats
reclined during take off and landing, seat belts not checked.

SYD-KUL-PEK return in Economy. SYD-KUL delayed due to bad weather but the captain and crew frequently
kept passengers informed. Even the crew started a trolley service with drinks and snacks whilst on the
ground because the delay turned out to be longer than expected. The crew were friendly and attentive.
SYD-KUL-SYD sector offered 3 meal choices and hot meals were good. On B747-400, IFE was pretty good
and seats were generally comfortable with generous legroom although a little narrow. KUL-PEK-KUL was
on the A330-300, which were a little older and not upgraded like the B747-400 with in-seat IFE. There
were only 2 meal choices on this sector. Crew were consistently good on all sectors.

BWN-KUL-EWR Economy Class. On transit in KUL I was put up at Concorde Inn near the airport which was a
decent accommodation. The flight attendants were very pleasant. Food was average and alcohol was
always served on request with no issues. Entertainment system is quite good with decent choice of
Movies, TV Show and games. Seats were quite uncomfortable and unhygienic - seats definitely need to be
disinfected more often.

BNE-KUL-FRA return in economy. Travelled with infant and had confirmed bulk head seats with bassinet
on all 4 segments so no problems with pitch but seats are rather narrow due to stiff arm rest.
Aircraft (744 and 777) in clean condition and service onboard (in economy) truly 5 star. Flight
attendants extremely helpful and they took care of our 11 months old son so we could eat. Meals tasty
and frequent drink service even though I was surprised that they ran out of beer 2 hours in to the
flight from FRA to KUL. All 4 flights delayed between 30 and 60 minutes but made up time on each
flight and arrived on time. Pan Pacific Hotel paid for by MH in KUL due to 18 hours stopover on the
way to FRA excellent and gave us a great chance to rest and make our son tired for the longer flight
to FRA. On way back stayed at the Hilton KL at own cost and fund the check-in facility for MH flights
at KL Sentral to be of excellent value. The ground operations outside of Malaysia really lets them
down. Tried changing return flight and MH's FRA city office advised I would need to fax a copy of my
paper ticket in order to change my booking. What a waste of time in a time of e-tickets but I
understand MH will switch to e-tickets later this year. The outsourced check-in staff in FRA caused
chaos by telling people to get in line for counters that were not open and the QF staff "greeting" us
in Brisbane was outright rude. 5 stars for the onboard experience and services provided in KUL but
only 3 stars for on ground services in BNE and FRA. Will certainly use MH for next trip to Europe!

AKL-KUL-BOM : flight was on time and enjoyed it. I had the ability to book the seat number on all the
flights in and out of AKL. One thing that I would not recommend to anyone is to not take the free
accommodation that is provided by the airline as they put me up is one of the cheapest hotels around.
I was afraid leave the room with my baggage unattended.

Economy class KUL - AMS. Although the friendliness of the service seems to have declined over the past
several years we found staff to be quite friendly still. There was ample legroom to get a full length
stretch (I am 5' 9") although the seat did feel a little narrow but with a 3x4x3 configuration on a
747 it can't be any more narrow than the competition. The food is always fine and there is an ample
selection on the entertainment program.

Golden Club Class Dubai to Kuala Lumpur A330. Excellent seat pitch, width a little restrictive in
Business, crew were fantastic. Very smooth flight with one main meal served, followed later with a
snack prior to landing, Only criticism was the plane being a little old and tired, old style seats
with a scratched tv screen. We were unable to book our ongoing seats at Dubai airport. Considering it
was a booking from Dubai to Perth I cannot understand why I would need to queue up at both airports.
At KL we had to queue to get our boarding pass to Perth - took a good 20 minutes to find the counter
and when we did get there the business counter was closed. Kuala Lumpur to Perth B 777 - what a
difference in plane, the seats were the new system, they are not totally lie flat but very close,
lots of legroom, service once again fantastic. Try and check what plane you are flying as 747 & 777
have much better seats.

26 October 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
LHR-KUL Economy. I took this flight as it was the only direct flight available to me and because of
Malaysia Airlines reputation. When I checked in I was informed my choice of seat was unavailable so I
had to have the inboard seat in a row of four. The flight itself was hell. People pay a lot of
attention to seat pitch but seat width is just as critical and these seats are narrow. I sat squeezed
in between two petite ladies (I'm 5'11" and of average build) had I been sandwiched between two guys
there would have been major shoulder room issues. The footrest protrudes into the leg room area and
sits too high for anyone above 5'8" to find of any use. The second problem is that the power supply
for the IFE sits in the way so you end up having to position your legs on a diagonal. And don't even
get me started on the seat comfort; it was like sitting on a plank of wood. Alcohol was very
sparingly dispensed (one small plastic beaker of wine) so I had to ask for more (I'm not talking
alcoholic proportions, three glasses of wine on a 12 hour flight). I spent the rest of the flight
unable to watch a movie clearly or do any work because the person in front had reclined their seat
fully - fair enough it's a night flight. Finally just as I was starting to get to sleep I was ordered
to put my seat up so that they could serve the second meal of the flight (a meal that I didn't want
anyway). Sure the staff smile a lot but that isn't customer service in my book.

BKK-KUL-BKK Golden Club Class. The flight out of Bangkok was on an Airbus, and boasted the most
accomplished crew I've encountered. It was a very welcome way to arrive in Malaysia. Champagne before
take off, a choice of western and South East Asian food and very good wine. Baggage on the carousel
as the passengers got to it. Excellent lounge on return, and then an older but still comfortable 737
to BKK, with wide and comfortable seats, a hot breakfast. Again, the crew was really excellent.

DXB-MEL. The flight Dubai to KL was on a rather tired A330-300. Considering this was around a seven
hour flight I was disappointed when I found out that there were no PTVs onboard. The meals were below
average. The crew was excellent. KUL-MEL was delayed by around 2 hours - ground staff did an
outstanding job by keeping the passengers informed. This time the flight was much better on a B777,
AVOD was good, but not great. Meals average. Overall, MH consistency varies a lot.

9 October 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
I agree with quite a number of people who have commented here about the good quality of MAS long haul
Boeing 747 and airbus aircraft, but the very poor quality of its regional/short haul flights on their
737s - the latter being old, tatty and cramped in the cabin, even in business class. Even lowcost
airline AirAsia has better and cleaner 737 aircraft than Malaysia Airlines. The cabin crew on MAS are
however probably one of the best of any airline.

NRT-KUL-NRT. Direct flight from Narita was excellent - clean, airy cabin in a new-looking 777, good,
regular service and a very nice meal. The on-demand entertainment system was decent, although not as
extensive as on the way back. The return via Kuala Lumpur, the first portion of which was on an old-
ish 737 with very limited leg room, rendering the 2.5 hour flight quite uncomfortable. Kuala Lumpur to
Tokyo portion overnight and again on a very nice 777, although legroom was an issue. However, the
economy service was terrible. Drinks offered only twice during the seven-hour flight, inexcusable
considering the parched atmosphere of the cabin and the recent restrictions on bringing liquids onto
aircraft. The evening meal consisted of a solitary cream cheese sandwich, while breakfast was served
around 4.30am, three hours short of landing, and allowing little time for genuine sleep. Overall, very
hit and miss.

Johor Bahru to Kuching, and Kuching to Singapore economy. Both flights were delayed, for a total of 5
hours between them - the latter leaving 3 of us hurtling across Changhi airport to get a connection
with literally minutes to spare. We chose MAS over Air Asia principally because of the punctuality.
Onboard, older 737s do not match the comfort of the competing Airbus aircraft, feeling tight in the
seat and also on leg room. Overall a disappointment, despite good air crew. I think MAS needs to
update it's short haul aircraft.

30 September 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
LHR-KUL-SYD and return in Y. A very good economy class product - the best I've ever flown on the
kangaroo route, actually. More room than Qantas, Singapore or BA and better service. The staff are
friendly and full of smiles. One might think that all one really wants from cabin crew is functional
competence. But on a 24 hour+ trip, having pleasant people around you really does matter. Good food -
especially the Malaysian choices. Plenty of room - even for a 180 cm tall chap like me. KUL is an
efficient, uncrowded hub but for a stop longer than six hours or so I'd recommend the cheap, clean and
handy transit hotel. AVOD system seems to be a bit precarious and kept crashing. But I always make
sure I take a good book on a flight like this. The prices fluctuate but I would be happy to pay a £100
premium to fly MH. The main thing I'd like to note, though, is the superlative service I got from the
ground staff at LHR. There was a mix-up over my tickets. No fault of MH but the supervisor went to
extreme lengths to make sure I got on the plane. It is down to her that my family and I will now
always make an effort to use this airline on our regular trips to SYD.

30 September 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
KUL-BKI-TWU return in Business Class. The equipment used for the breakfast service was a total miss
match. Hot beverage in new business class mugs, side plate the new first class, bowls the old standard
business tableware, salt pepper was in the old first class shakers and main meal in the old economy
casserole dish. Because of this they get a zero for presentation! Arrive in BKI with only 15 minutes
left for my connecting flight. After running to clear immigration and arriving at the gate for the
next flight, only to be told that that flight was also delayed by 40 minutes. During the check-in for
the return flight 3 days later, I was informed that the flight was re-timed by 1 hour then delayed by
another 30 minutes. Only the final sector was on time. Cost cutting has really affected the inflight
service for Malaysia Airlines. There is no more alcohol served in business class on domestic flights.
The quality of the meals poor. Even quality of the crew is inconsistent. For their domestic business
class, they don't deserve the 5 stars. Only saving grace is the domestic lounge in KLIA.

LHR to KL. Outbound in 1st Class, return in Business Class. This is my 7th trip to Malaysia this year,
all with Malaysia Airlines. The overall product is still very good but let down (as I've written on
this forum before) by the Enrich Customer Service. Outbound, I upgraded from Business to First using
my Enrich points. These were deducted from my account immediately, yet I still await the original
Business Class points allowance to be credited to my account one week on. Sent Enrich Customer Service
an email about this but as usual, not even the courtesy of a response. Rang Enrich customer service in
KL who said that my membership details were not on my booking details (not "I'm sorry sir, I can see
you obviously took the flight, let me help you here") By the way, I know my details were in the system
as I confirmed this at Heathrow on the outbound leg. One other thing to point out, on four of the
seven trips with Malaysian Airlines this year, I've purchased various items from their in-flight
magazine ranging from jewellery to perfume and toys for the kids. Whilst the cabin crew dutifully take
my Enrich Gold card away at the time of every order, I've never received any of the points for any of
the purchases made during the past year. Overall, a good product on the ground and in the air,
severely let down by the lack of any customer service or responsiveness from the Enrich Team in KL. I
think I'll seriously consider BA to Singapore and then a short hop up to KL from now on.

6 September 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
LHR-KUL-BKK-KUL-LHR. Flight crew smart, polite and on the ball. Food standards have suffered as a
result of cost cutting measures and drinks are not so free flowing as other carriers. KUL-BKK-KUL
737-400s could do with refurbing but flight crew helpful and food good for short flight. Both flights
approx 66% loading so no seating issues. KUL-LHR did not get requested seats despite reconfirming
several times. KL Sentral check in staff did not know type of aircraft or seating configuration and
informed us that the flight was only 75% full. Flight ended up overbooked with standby passengers and
VIP passengers and entourage. As a result many passengers were shifted around or in the wrong seats.
Flight crew did a great job of sorting out the mess and we were offered Champagne whilst they re-
allocated our seats. MAS have cut costs and it now starting to show in the quality of the fleet which
are now old and meals which seem of low quality. Despite this the flight crews are the main reason we
choose to travel with MAS.

Economy from Sydney to Paris and back via London. Travelling with an 11 year old the prospect of a
fabulous entertainment system was a great incentive. All flights ran to schedule, staff great , planes
clean and smart and the entertainment system was fantastic. Seat pitch for economy was great, can't
imagine being any more cramped in than we were! I was prepared to give then 5 stars but one issue
stands out that reduces it to 4, the food or lack of it. Seems they might have cut some costs here,
prepare on a long haul flight to miss a meal- 14 hour flight from Sydney to KL with one main meal, a
snack pack of pringles and then a light breakfast before landing. Asked for a snack at one point for
hungry 11 year old and was given a few dry biscuits. Same on London to KL on the way back - do not
expect adequate food if you travel economy anyway. Might try SIA next time as I hear their food
quality and quantity are excellent. Anyone else feel the same way?

Friendly and polite FAs, they work hard. Food is good for the short flight. Different kinds of

haul flights to match their 5 star status.

AKL-KUL-FRA return Boeing 777 Business. Lounge access in Auckland through Koru club, which was
relaxed, quiet, with a good selection of food and beverages. Service on board was excellent with staff
at your side within a minute after ringing for service. This was the same on all sectors no matter
what time. The food on board was excellent as was the selection of beverages. The on-demand
entertainment sufficed though quality movies were scarce on AKL-FRA leg. Better selection on return.
Entertainment system broke 2 hours out of Auckland. FRA-KUL my partner's seat didn't function and
staff managed to swap a pax around and give us two functioning seats together. Golden Lounge KL was
large, well positioned, with excellent services. High quality food and beverages and free internet
access. Golden Lounge Frankfurt was problematic. I traveled on an award ticket and was denied access
to the lounge. The German staff was unhelpful, unyielding and rude. Be aware that pax need to have a
paid (not an award or points) business-class ticket in order to get access. On laptop powerpoints:
although every seat has a powerpoint, located in the seat under the remote control, Apple users may
not be able to use it. The square Apple power adapter (with universal adapter (two flat pins)) does
not fit. A way around it may be to have a universal adapter on a lead coming off the Apple adapter.

Golden Club Class KUL-LGK on a Boeing 737. The domestic lounge in Malaysia was quite
good with an excellent asortment of hot food that was delivered to wherever you were sitting like in
a restaurant. Flight was delayed for 45 mins but no explanation given. Crew were very professional
and accomodating. The seating was quite cramped. The pitch was 38" as advertised, but the seat back
is so thick and the legroom is very little. Arrival in Langkawi was excellent. The priority tagged
bags were first off the plane and took only a few minutes. A very satisfactory journey with
Malaysia Airlines.

MEL-LHR return Economy. Do this trip with the family about once every
eighteen months but this was the first where the kids no longer qualify
us for the bulkhead seats so chose Malaysian partly based on seat pitch.
It was passable but anything less would be very uncomfortable for anyone
over 6 feet like myself. No activity packs for the kids though their
meal box featured a push-out-and-put-together paper plane. ICE was good
but we'd seen everything we wanted to see by the time we were over
Eastern Europe and disappointingly the same choices of TV were in place
for the return a month later. Delayed for nine and a half hours on
return from LHR due to late arrival of incoming plane and extreme
weather conditions, two of which were spent on the plane at the gate as
we'd missed our slot. Meal vouchers provided both at LHR and KUL where
airline staff dealt with those of us who'd missed connections
efficiently and courteously. Overall Malaysian are definitely up there
with the best of the kangaroo routers and we'd certainly use them again.

11 July 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
AKL-KUL-AKL in economy. The first leg from AKL to KUL is a daylight
flight. As a result all passengers are awake and as such require
refreshments. Served well with juice and orange. Alcoholic beverages
(beer and wine) however ran out after the first meal service. Crew did
try to locate more on the flight but to no avail. Therefore we became a
temperance flight somewhere over Queensland. Crew were very good and
attentive throughout the flight. The food was bland to say the least.
Considering how good cuisine is in Malaysia, this is a shame. The seats
were comfortable for the 11.5 hour flight, some even managing to snooze
off. The selection of entertainment was good. Onboard service was OK.
Did not run out of alcohol this time but MAS forgot to update the
films/TV to July, still had June's programming even though the inflight
magazine said July's should be screening. Given the flight was on 8th
of July this is pretty slack.

LHR-KUL return in Economy. Cabin crew passed through the cabin every
15mins with drinks (water, orange or apple juice) and provided with us
some small bread rolls with salad fillings. Very good food and a good
seat pitch for economy of 34". AVOD system worked without a hitch, was a
little slow to respond at times but this didn't cause any problems. The
return flight was just as good, although they did run out of my choice
for breakfast but that happens all the time on airlines. The whole
experience was enjoyable with professional and friendly service.

Melbourne - KUL - Mumbai return on business class. MEL-KUL leg was on
777 - lie flat seats, excellent service, food and IFE. We chose row 5
which is behind bulkhead and just ahead of economy class partition. Very
good choice, we had our own little alcove. Highly recommend these seats
on the 777. Same for return leg. KUL-BOM and return leg was on an old
A320. Seats were horrible considering it was business class. Did not
recline much at all and did not have flexible head-rests. Really bad. MH
need to replace the interior of these old aircraft.

ZRH-KUL-KBR-KUL-SYD in economy class. We had a great experience with
Malaysia Airlines. Outbound from Zurich about 45 minutes delayed but
otherwise all the flights were on time. All flights excellent, great
attentive cabin crews, food also alright but not as good as when we
travelled with them two years ago. Also quite a bit of seat pitch, more
than most airlines. On the KUL-SYD we got upgraded to Business which was
a pleasant surprise, and their lounge in KUL was very good. Overall,
better than our return flights on Singapore Airlines. I'm glad to see
such a good airline, especially after having experienced the dreadful
service of European airlines. Would gladly reccomend MH to anyone
travelling to Asia or Australia - especially families, they take good
care of children.

to drink. The entertainment program is very good. The same bad

PVG-KUL-MAA-KUL-PVG in Economy. Flight ex PVG delayed, information given
at check-in that due to technical difficulties and/or plane-rescheduling
the departure time is not 1015 am but approx. 1240 pm. Check in
smoothly, pleasant ground staff, apologized for the delay and handed out
meal voucher. Got requested seat (emergency exit). Had to kill time in
PVG which is quite challenging as shopping is very limited. After
security check, updates of the flight became rare, but this is not MH-
fault but PVG-staff. Went to central information desk and was briskly
asked to go away and check the flight table, this is only China Eastern
information. I asked them why they claim to be central information,
became a blank stare and was ignored after that. Well, PVG-staff and
service is still a big, big difference. Gate was changed several times,
and at 1200, the plane finally arrived. Instead of scheduled B-777 it
was A330. Despite arriving the gate at 1200, boarding was already at
1230 and departure as scheduled 1240. Aircraft was, given only the short
time the cleaners had, perfectly clean. Interior design looked very old.
No personal IFE, only small screen in front and every 5 rows. Cabin crew
was excellent, food was good. Became a bit jumpy as boarding for my
connection to MAA was scheduled for 1840 and our flight only arrived KUL
at 1840. Cabin crew reassured that the connection flight will wait. Upon
arrival in KUL, I found out they use the same aircraft to continue to
MAA so no terminal/gate change was required. Flight left KUL with approx
1 hour delay due to the delayed arrival from PVG. Again, pleasant ground
staff. Got upgraded to business class after boarding, as economy was
said to be full. Very pleasant experience, even more attentive and
friendly cabin crew, plenty of space. However, also here, old-fashioned
interior design, also no personal IFE but even smaller screen in front
of the cabin. Food was excellent, especially the satay. On return,
everything smoothly, no delays. Ground staff in MAA a bit grumpy but
gave me requested seat. MAA-KUL again in A-330 with old interior, KUL-
PVG in 777-200 with new interior, personal IFE and a excellent choice of
programs, though some channels did not show the movie they were said to
show. Food again excellent, Cabin crew (with one exception who seemed to
have a bad day) very pleasant. Overall, a very pleasant experience, I
can recommend MH and will surely fly them again.

CDG-HKT via KUL in economy. Check- in at Paris airport took place in
the old terminal 1 - a mess but all the flights on time. The aircraft on
the first flight was a modern Boeing 777-200. Seats in economy didn't
have a very convenient configuration (2-5-2) but legroom was OK. IFE on
personal screens was very complete and easy to use with some movies in
french. Just after take-off an aperitif has been served followed by a
correct lunch. Two choices available but only Malaysian food. The
pillows and blanket available were very smooth and comfortable but no
amenity kits were given. Before landing a second meal served. The choice
was a little bit strange for a breakfast (fish or beef). Kuala Lumpur
airport is msgnificent and very good for having a quick and an easy
connecting flight. KUL-HKT segment was short (1h25) but an hot meal was
available. The crew on all the flights were very smiling and
professional. I will fly this airlines again and will recommend it for
the great space available on board and the quick connections to asian
cities.

KUL-MEL-KUL Economy Class. Seats & legroom were all right as I am quite
a petite person. Food wasn't particularly great. Great cabin crew, all
smiles, but the pilot's English wasn't very good - I doubt many people
understood what he was saying over the PA. Bad IFE - what made Malaysia
Airlines change everything so drastically? IFE also had a tendency to
freeze at least 2 minutes before any PA, and up to 5 minutes after.
Considering the many pleasant flights I've had with MH previously, this
one was a little disappointing.

they want to compete with the likes of Singapore & Emirates.

food good, service lacking, seats uncomfortable. Drinks were served

crew. Good food. Flight times were traveller friendly too. Domestic
flights were a bit of a shambles with delays and cancelled flights.

LHR-KUL then KUL - Langkawi & return to LHR in economy. Staff pleasant &
helpful, constantly going around cabin offering snacks / drinks &
picking up rubbish on long flights. They also kept the toilets clean
checking them about every hour! Legroom, meals & inflight entertainment
fine, kid meals there as ordered. All in all as best as it is going to
get on a long flight to Asian.

PER-KUL-BOM-KUL-PER Travelled Business class, DEC 2006/JAN 2007, all
legs on new Business Class apart from BOM-KUL which was supposed to be a
777 but changed to 330 with old seats. No faults apart from the
scheduled aircraft change in BOM. Travelled on 747, 777 and 330. Seats
are excellent. Lounges at PER, KUL and BOM very good, especially KUL.
Entertainment, service and food fantastic. Amenity Kits handed out on
all legs, have everything you need. All this for a great price. Malaysia
airlines have really excelled and I look forward to travelling with them
in the near future.

BNE-KUL-JNB-KUL-BNE. Economy. Superb cabin service, nice aircraft with
ample leg room, and IFE were working well in all four flights. All the
flights full except for JNB-KUL leg, and cabin staff are very attentive
The food above average, I especially like their Nasi Lemak (a
traditional Malaysian breakfast) before touching down Jo'burg. One of
the FAs on JNB-KUL has excellent skills in pacifying the babies on board
- or else I would have to endure a loud crying baby 4 rows in front of
me in the 11-hour flight. I have nothing to complain about their
service.

PER-KUL-HKG, SIN-KUL-PER 777-200 Business class. All flights left and
arrived on time. Cabin crew excellent. The food was good but not great,
I like the satay they offer before dinner or lunch. The staff
addressed us by name on all legs. I found the new lie flat seat great
but my husband found the seat uncomfortable due to a bar he felt digging
into his bottom. As these were all daytime flights I cannot comment on
the comfort of trying to sleep in them. Our baggage was on the belt
first on all legs which is a great bonus. I have read that some
passengers feel cut backs have been made but in business class I didn't
get this feeling and I have flown MAS at least once in the past 4 years.
A 5 Star experience for me.

London to KL return. Outward journey fantastic as 747-400 only had
around 80 passengers, meaning everyone had at least 2 and usually 3
seats to lie across. Both meals adequate and plenty of drinks available
throughout the flight. Only slight complaint was video on demand not
working meaning that only the 5 or 6 movies on the main channels could
be viewed and these were on a continuous loop so could not be re-wound,
paused etc. Flight full on return so service understandably slower. Good
meals and pleasant staff. Only complaint was that although there were
only 4 or 5 young children on board (under 3 years old) they were
scattered all over the plane so nobody got any respite from the crying.
The one 2 rows in front of me managed to stay awake and cry for 8 hours.
Maybe long haul carriers should consider a family section and an adults
only section.

Sydney - Kuala Lumpur economy class. 747-400 looking tired. Leg room
probably one of the best at 34" but seat back tv tiny. Video and audio
on demand not working at all in my row. Could only watch the flight
progress map which was great but quite boring for 8 hours. Drink service
as per usual but dinner service was disgraceful. They had three choices
but ran out for about 10 rows. Only Venison sausages left. Why one
would offer this in economy is weird as no one wanted them and were
quite angry with the crew. Food was dry and the mashed potato with it
was powdered potato. Second meal was just a chicken sandwich which was
also terrible. Cabin crew were great and did plenty of drink patrols but
one can tell corners are being cut at MH as catering used to be superb.
Would re-think flying them again.

29 March 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
We have flown MAS on business class London-AKL before and their service
was very good. We found the standard of their regional Southeast Asian
flights to be variable. In February, we flew DPS-KUL on economy class
and KUL-BKK on business class but were surprised to find the economy
class service was better! The first flight from Bali was on a modern
Airbus A330 with comfortable and felt rather spacious with comfortable
seats even though the flight was practically full. What was more, the
light meal was delicious. They even provided a red wine, which my
travelling companion who is a wine connoisseur said was of high standard
and rather exclusive, and that he would only have expected it to be
served in first class. Only thing was it was served chilled, which
should be at room temperature. The second flight to Bangkok was an old
an almost unloved B737 with interior that needs refurbishing, and seats
that have seen better days. It felt cramped. The meal served was
uninteresting. Maybe it was a mistake to order steak on an airplane as
it was dry, overcooked and did not taste nice. The cabin crew service on
both flights were good as on the majority of MAS flights. I think MAS
ought to upgrade its Southeast Asian flights to bigger and more modern
planes like the Airbus A330, and not use those older and smaller 737s
althogether. The meals ought to be more standardised so that they are
good on all flights, rather than some flights.

KUL-AKL, economy, pleasent, but nothing out of the ordinary, 777 service
which is always good. Catering good, drink selection poor. Arrival in
AKL usual fight to get off, but made it out of terminal in 25 minutes
which is great. Would travel again but may look elsewhere first. KUL a
bit boring for any length of time to be waiting around in when compared
to SIN, be warned very few food outlets take credit cards.

LAX-KUL Return in Economy. Departure at LAX was an hour late and it was
well past midnight. Dinner was served within an hour of the departure
and then the lights were switched off. Legroom was good in the older 747
even for a 6ft like me. IFE was excellent. PTVs in well working
condition. Breakfast served into the 13th hour of the flight and the
plane landed after completing its 14:50 hours journey in our stopover at
Taipei. Due to a small technical glitch, the flight was delayed for 3
hours at Taipei. However, meal was provided at the airport and I
finally arrived in KUL 23:50 hours after leaving LAX. The service was
top notch in the return flight and the crew was there in sight for the
whole journey back to LAX. 3 meals were served and drink service was
around the clock throughout the entire journey back to LAX. Crew was
well attentive to all the passengers and earned the five star rating
that they truly deserve.

LHR-KUL-SYD return. All sectors in business class apart from KUL-SYD
where we got a complimentary upgrade to First class. Food okay, but
slightly disappointed with choice, but then again you can't please
everybody ! Angle-lie flat seats as expected after reading reviews on
this website - you do slide down them and with having sore feet to start
with, they were even more painful after the flights because your feet
take most of your body weight because of sliding downwards. Dissapointed
with KUL-LHR leg - they could not offer any snacks to eat during flight.
No cheese/crackers, biscuits and only two small sandwiches left which we
were amazed with after Malaysia stating snacks are always available in
between meals. Only six business class passengers on SYD-KUL 777 flight
so nice and quiet. Would still consider flying with them again as their
Golden lounges leave other airlines standing.

SYD-KUL-LHR return. Economy. Ground staff pleasant & helpful, requested
seats were available check in smooth and efficient at SYD, KUL, LHR.
Seats comfortable with good legroom compared to other airlines (747
&777). KUL-LHR full plane but cabin crew as good as ever. Luggage lost
LHR and turmoil as baggage contractor could not handle volume of
passenger reports. Three days of silence with no information available
only a recorded message before bags appeared.
