LHR-KUL in economy. Such a nice change to be travelling in Y class but to have a decent service.
Light dinner served after take off then pretty much everyone slept for a good 5 hours or so. The
select IFE is good but the screen size is disapointing, recline very good but footrest no good if
you are tall, very swift arrival and baggage waiting in arrival hall - overall a 5 star experience.

KUL-DXB return on economy. Flying out was excellent. FAs attentive and frequently served
refreshments. Flying back poorer. Plane not in very good condition, and headset was not working. Had
to ask for four times before given a replacement. Refreshment very few, and breakfast was two
sandwiches - a cheese and tuna in plastic, and thats all.

AKL-KUL in economy and impressed with MH. Excellent seats thanks to the care and attention of MH AKL
staff. Senior cabin crew excellent, they offer a streamlined product - younger crew can be a little
hectic. First meal out of AKL was very good, second best ignornd. As Flying Blue customers we can
check in at Business Class, however no Business Class priority labelling for our luggage - something
that could be looked at.

MAS is the only airline that serves the KL-Adelaide route, pricey but not much choice. Seats were
comfortable and spacious. Entertainment system wonderful. Food excellent and of generous portion.
Stewardess were OK. Overall an excellent airline that fits the cash I pay them.

LHR-KUL-LHR Economy. I was in the middle seat and thanks to seat pitch of 34 inch, the flight was
still comfortable. There has been some changes to the catering on long haul flights - you get a
snack box between meals. I will like to comment that MH should bring back the menu. The food was
still good, despite awful presentation. Overall, it's a pleasant flight but MH should improve on the
catering to compete.

16 March 2008 Customer Trip Rating :
KUL-MEL-KUL Business class in March. Airport lounge in KL was nice but lounge in Melbourne was
disappointing. Not much decent food on offer in Melbourne. Service onboard was efficient but
mechanical and it seemed that the FA's were just intent on 'getting it over' as soon as possible.
Food was very good, plenty of it and drinks service was adequate but serving alcohol out of a red
drinks crate laid on linen was tacky. FA's not very communicative and did not explain things well
when asked about food choices but I suspect that was due to poor command of English as opposed to
indifference. Overall, not worth the money and would prefer to fly Thai or SQ any day.

LHR-KUL-SYD return. Seat in front of me was broken and reclined which was uncomfortable for the
occupant and myself. Staff were less than interested. I have a rice allergy so asked for no rice
meals which meant I was served the same disgusting fish meal for 3 meals on the trot. I did get a
roll with the thickest lump of smoked cheese and grey looking smoked salmon in. I would say that I
will eat almost anything but that took it a little too far. On the whole the crew were pleasant we
only had one very surly young stewardess on one leg of the journey. The aircraft are tired and in
need of re-fit.

CMB-KUL-HAN Economy. Trip out was good. Upgraded to an emergency aisle seat because of my height.
Food okay. Same terrible Disney movie on both flights - the only on-board entertainment. Aircraft
rather old and tired looking. Return was worse. Another old A330 with same disney movie! Staff
efficient but hardly warm, meal the same on all flights. Worse was to come. KUL to CMB we had an
unannounced 1.5 hour layover in Male. Aircraft hot, no explanations given about how long we'd be
there and no serving of water or other refreshments. All in all very average.

DXB to KUL Business Class. Airbus A330-300 aircraft. Excellent service from cabin crew, although a
tiring journey with a 1hr ground stop in KHI en route. However, this was processed quickly and we
remained on board. MH seat in Business Class is the worst I have experienced - neither lie-flat, nor
does it recline significantly enough to allow you to sink into it. Headrest area is entirely flat
with no side wings or contouring to rest your head against. Sleep was an impossibility. As narrated
at the outset, the crew made up for the aircraft's shortfalls, offering impeccable service all the
way. Food, champagnes and wines were faultless. However, as it was a night flight and sleep was
important, I have retained a couple of star ratings.

IST-KUL-SYD-KUL Business. Airplanes are not the strong side of MH - old and worn out. The best cabin
crew award is justified in Business class. They are very kind and quick. Food amazing (try satay)
and champagne OK too. Y class KUL-IST is a disapointment. All in all a great experience in Business
class.

I booked flights Sydney-KL-Bangkok-KL-Sydney two months in advance. When the booking was made I
notified the airline I am a wheelchair user. One week (just one week) before travel I am told I
cannot travel by myself between Kuala Lumpa and Bangkok as they do not have an on board wheelchair.
This is a 2 hour flight. If I travel with someone I can fly? This is insane and extremely
discriminating! I have tried to explain also that I cannot make other arrangements at this late
notice, and that we made the booking two months ago. Their reply, they have not confirmed until this
week. But they took my payments!

KUL-MEL Economy. I'd heard good things about MH through word of mouth and MH advertisements. It
turns out these things were a way off what is offered inflight with this airline. Check in at KUL
was a little hectic. The flight was overbooked and most seats taken. The only two together were in
the middle of the most ridiculous seating plan I have ever seen, 2-5-2. This meant that we were
hemmed in from all sides in seats that were not particularly roomy - not a pleasant way to spend an
8 hour daytime flight. Meal service was not adequate - two hours after departure at 0930 a kind of
brunch was served (one of the two options had run out by the time the FA reached us, 5 rows from the
front). Four hours later a roll with a thick slab of cream cheese - about the size of my fist - was
served and seemingly supposed to be another meal. I found that for an 8 hour flight that covered two
main meal times in arrival and departure time zones, this was completely abhorrent. FAs not rude and
carried out service effectively - those looking for a warm genuine smile and assistance may have
been found slightly wanting. Overall not an overly unpleasant experience, but one that I would
rather not repeat.

DXB-KUL-SIN return. Flights through to SIN was great. Economy, but nothing to complain about.
Service is decent. Return trip was a nightmare. I caught the Friday commuter leg SIN-KUL and was
swamped by the crowds of workers trying to get home. The passengers were unruly (getting out of the
seats while plane still taxiing), and the crew just sat watching. KUL-DXB return trip was delayed
5.5 hrs because a number of passengers were delayed coming from MEL. I was extremely disappointed
as the crew did not inform me until I got on the ground in KUL, and I ended up missing a flight
after DXB. What reparation did I get? A free meal at Burger King and a very long night sleeping in
the airport.

LHR-KUL-PER in economy. We booked online for two tickets. MAS does not issue e-tickets and we have
the choice of picking up tickets in London central office or at Heathrow. When we tried picking it
up at the city office, they told us the tickets have been sent to Heathrow office. We went to
Heathrow a day before the flight - my ticket was fine but they could not find my wife's ticket. Only
two ladies at the ticketing office, and only one allowed to deal with ticketing issues. She was
rude and just wanted us to go away (saying if we coming back the next day someone will sort it out).
We insisted that she needed to deal with it (as it was her job!) as we had been to both offices
without success. In the end she reluctantly issued a ticket. It was an unpleasant experience. Once
onboard, everything was satisfactory.

LHR-KUL-LHR in Economy. Flights on time both ways and aircraft clean and tidy. Outbound flight was
fine and crew pleasant enough. Return flight not a great experience. Crew bored and smiled through
clenched teeth. Food very average and served lukewarm. Drinks limited - no bar service but offered
juice or beer on trays. Wine was available with lunch but had to ask, it was not volunteered, and I
was then given half a glass. I do not have an alcohol problem, but a drink after take off and a
glass or 2 of wine with lunch is nice on such a long journey. Water service limited which was not
good as you are not allowed to take any bottles onto the aircraft even if purchased in the departure
lounge. I normally buy water airside and take on board - at KL airport, even water/soft drinks
purchased in the departure area and not permitted onto the aircraft and the ground staff at the gate
are strict. People constantly asked for drinks during the 14 hours as service was very limited.
Seating uncomfortable.

KUL to SIN, then to Langkawi, and back to London via KUL. Flew First on short haul flights (in total
only £40 more than economy for all 3 short haul flights - Lounge access alone would virtually
justify this differential, and it is nice to get off the plane first). On short haul, First is a
wide "old style" business class seat (no integrated footrest but reasonable legroom and foam
triangle to rest feet on). Food served on every short haul flight, ranging from OK sandwiches to
noodles. Service excellent. Long haul back to LHR delayed 1hr by mechanical difficulties with
original plane (replacement quickly found) but service and food just as good as on outward leg.

JNB-KUL-JNB in economy. JNB-KUL Very nice, especially after having gotten off an SAA flight. Crew
were very nice, made us feel like we were at home, even in economy class. Food was pretty good, too
and IFE, though crashed twice, was pretty good too. The bathroom could do some work, but still
better than most airlines. Seat pitch is amazing for economy, and cabin has a very nice feeling to
it. KUL-JNB the crew were less friendly but still great.

29 January 2008 Customer Trip Rating :
An excellent flight LHR to KUL in Business. Nice touches, such as drinks being served to you in the
lounge at Heathrow made all the difference. The high level of service continued on the flight, and
food was some of the best I have ever tasted on an airline - very good satay, good smoked trout
salad and an excellent Malay curry ("Western" options looked less appealing). Good wines. Seats are
angled lie flat, but I still got 6+ hrs of sleep on an 11hr flight in the upstairs cabin of a
747-400. The only drawback was departing through Terminal 3 - horrible! Overall, a product that is
comparable with BA, who I usually fly, even though the BA bed is the better product.

CMB-KUL-MEL Golden Club Class (Business). CMB-KUL was on an A330. The flight and J cabin was fairly
empty. The service was excellent, onboard meals were good. The seats weren't lie flat, but it wasnt

again faultless. Overall, worth every star of the five stars.

crew and IFE selection. KUL-SYD on 747-400, great service, IFE and food. Ageing A330-300 which need

TPE-KUL-PEN. Checking-in at Taipei the queue was horribly long, but the chief supervisor took
control and within 30 minutes we were through. Cabin clean, airy and crew warm. Onboard endless

subsequent flight to Penang was on their historic 737 aircraft. Nevertheless, crew made up for the
aircraft age. Excellent flight.

Cape Town to Buenos Aires, Business Class. Very good indeed; excellent food, very comfy sleeper
seats/beds and pleasant cabin staff on a daylight flight. Extraordinarily small toilets for this
class, so visit the loo before you leave. The return flight, Buenos Aires-Cape Town on Jan 13, also
Business Class - flight was delayed; when ill-tempered passengers eventually boarded, in a stampede,
there was further delay due to boarding gate confusion. Seats, as before, were terrific, loads of
room and attentive cabin crew. Food almost inedible and our cutlery was dirty. Breakfast was also
poor - our worst airline food experience ever.

EWR-KUL-EWR business class on 777 both ways. Very nice airplane. Meals provided were excellent. Nice
silk pillow and duvet, good amenity kit. There were plenty of room for business class seats but the
seats were not completely flat, very hard to sleep sliding down all the time. Seat cushions were
thin. FAs were nice most of the time but seem more attentive to men than women. KUL Golden lounge
was fantastic, very opulent and comfortable, serving snacks as well as full meals Western and Asian.
Plenty of drinks and juices.

FRA-KUL-AKL return Business with a 4year old. We chose MAS due to the SKYTRAX 5 star rating and competitive price. The lounge in Frankfurt was nice and quiet with a good choice of snacks and
meals for a late breakfast. The lounge staff was very helpful with requirements for our daughter.
The seat pitch on the 777 is fantastic, crew on the flight to KUL made a good job. We had a 18 hour
transfer time in KUL, for which MAS put us in the beautiful Pan Pacific Hotel next to the terminal.
KUL to AKL flight was quite different to the other flights of MAS with a rather unmotivated crew. We
had to discuss with the crew during the flight, so that the dinner on demand was really made; they
tried to serve dinner for all customers at the same time without the choice of later food! In AKL we
had lounge access to the Air New Zealand lounge which is spacious and quiet. AKL to KUL flight was
very a positive experience - even for a 5 star airline in business class. During the whole 11 hour
flight (all at daytime) the crew motivated and very helpful. Drinks refilled without asking for it,
food served as wished. They even found quite some time to entertain and play with our daughter -
without neglecting the wishes of the other customers (Service at it's best - 6 out of 5 stars!). The
KUL to FRA leg was another positive MAS experience with a very motivated and helpful crew.

EWR-SIN-EWR in business class 777. Travelling with an 18 month old child in business, we got rolling
eyes from other passengers. The crew made us feel at home & were excellent! Every time we needed
something, they would be there. There was enough choices for food, and it was rather tasty. Seats
were comfortable, but could do with a flat seat for the long haul flight. Lounge in Kuala Lumpur was
well cleaned, tiny tots area was very decent with all the usual amenities. Ground staff was also
very helpful, all in all a very pleasant experience.

BNE-KUL-BKI return economy class. Aircraft clean and fresh. FA's friendly, attentive and caring. The

time watching movies and listening to music. The food was good. In between snacks we got served ice-
cream, kit-kats and muffins. Overall I enjoyed my flight and would recommend anyone flying to

LGK-KUL and KUL-BKK one way in business. Acceptable seats. Sandwiches and juice on first leg. No
alcohol is served on domestic flights even in business. Decent food with good drinks on aging 737 on
next leg. Marvellous check-in who managed to check our luggage LGK-KUL-BKK-VIE-CPH in spite of us
not having a through ticket. Decent lounge in KUL but not as grand as shown in pictures on the net.
All in all a decent experience for not much more than an economy ticket. We were originally booked
on ThaiAirAsia LGG-BKK but they simply quit flying this leg!

747 seat 44c. LHR-KL-PER. Economy. Selected Malaya airlines because of 34" legroom and because of

PER-KUL-DXB-KUL-DPS return. Have flown many times business class on this airline and found the
cabin crew to be very attentive (particularly on the Perth-KL route). The flights were all on time
with the exception of the KL-Bali flight that turned back after 30 minutes with a tech problem.
Leaving Bali they had another tech problem and the flight was delayed 30 minutes. We were addressed
by name on all flights and found food the same standard as always. The only thing that let them
down on this trip was the fact that we only received an amenity kit on the KL-Dubai route, not on
the return and not on any of the other flights. I have previously flown Emirates on this route as
they have a direct flight but their price compared with MAS is much more and the aircraft they use
does not have lie flat seats in Business so therefore can not justify the extra money. I found MAS
service to be better than Emirates and the food on Emirates a little better but I do like the satay
they offer on MAS. Our baggage which had priority tags was always the first off and this makes a
huge difference in airports like Perth where the wait time to get through customs is awful. We were
actually the first passengers out of the airport. Overall a good trip.

Hong Kong to Singapore via Kuala Lumpur. Service and food were very good, although the planes used

minor blot on an otherwise decent roundtrip.

LHR-KUL-LHR in business class, using Enrich points for an upgrade on both sectors. Golden Lounge in
LHR pleasant enough, but beginning to look a little old, and could do with some sprucing up. FAs
very good - greeted by title at all times. Very regular rounds of the cabin. Food good, and nicely
presented. Drinks topped up regularly. Good range of teas and coffees. Ran out of one of the main
courses on return journey. IFE not working on the return journey - FAs very apologetic, and offered
move to another seat on the upper deck. Check in, boarding, disembarkation and baggage collection
all quick and efficient at KUL and LHR. Overall a very good experience, as have not travelled with
MH in the last couple of years, choosing QR instead because of more reasonable fares.

KUL-FCO-KUL ( Class. Opted for Malaysia Airlines as it was the most convenient to travel to Rome
without lengthy stopovers. Both legs on B777 - Malaysia Airlines is one of the few airlines with
generous seat pitch (34") in Economy. Great selection AVOD. Cabin crew polite and efficient, may be
a bit robotic at times but friendly. Crew were fast to answer calls from passengers and made several

London-Kuala Lumpur-Siem Reap, return Phnom Penh-Kuala Lumpur-London. Reasonable check in at

Another good crew Phnom Penh to Kuala Lumpur but very disinterested crew for KL-Heathrow leg who

SYD-KUL-PEK return in Economy. SYD-KUL delayed due to bad weather but the captain and crew frequently
kept passengers informed. Even the crew started a trolley service with drinks and snacks whilst on the
ground because the delay turned out to be longer than expected. The crew were friendly and attentive.
SYD-KUL-SYD sector offered 3 meal choices and hot meals were good. On B747-400, IFE was pretty good
and seats were generally comfortable with generous legroom although a little narrow. KUL-PEK-KUL was
on the A330-300, which were a little older and not upgraded like the B747-400 with in-seat IFE. There
were only 2 meal choices on this sector. Crew were consistently good on all sectors.

BNE-KUL-FRA return in economy. Travelled with infant and had confirmed bulk head seats with bassinet
on all 4 segments so no problems with pitch but seats are rather narrow due to stiff arm rest.
Aircraft (744 and 777) in clean condition and service onboard (in economy) truly 5 star. Flight
attendants extremely helpful and they took care of our 11 months old son so we could eat. Meals tasty
and frequent drink service even though I was surprised that they ran out of beer 2 hours in to the
flight from FRA to KUL. All 4 flights delayed between 30 and 60 minutes but made up time on each
flight and arrived on time. Pan Pacific Hotel paid for by MH in KUL due to 18 hours stopover on the
way to FRA excellent and gave us a great chance to rest and make our son tired for the longer flight
to FRA. On way back stayed at the Hilton KL at own cost and fund the check-in facility for MH flights
at KL Sentral to be of excellent value. The ground operations outside of Malaysia really lets them
down. Tried changing return flight and MH's FRA city office advised I would need to fax a copy of my
paper ticket in order to change my booking. What a waste of time in a time of e-tickets but I
understand MH will switch to e-tickets later this year. The outsourced check-in staff in FRA caused
chaos by telling people to get in line for counters that were not open and the QF staff "greeting" us
in Brisbane was outright rude. 5 stars for the onboard experience and services provided in KUL but
only 3 stars for on ground services in BNE and FRA. Will certainly use MH for next trip to Europe!

Economy class KUL - AMS. Although the friendliness of the service seems to have declined over the past
several years we found staff to be quite friendly still. There was ample legroom to get a full length
stretch (I am 5' 9") although the seat did feel a little narrow but with a 3x4x3 configuration on a
747 it can't be any more narrow than the competition. The food is always fine and there is an ample
selection on the entertainment program.

Golden Club Class Dubai to Kuala Lumpur A330. Excellent seat pitch, width a little restrictive in
Business, crew were fantastic. Very smooth flight with one main meal served, followed later with a
snack prior to landing, Only criticism was the plane being a little old and tired, old style seats
with a scratched tv screen. We were unable to book our ongoing seats at Dubai airport. Considering it
was a booking from Dubai to Perth I cannot understand why I would need to queue up at both airports.
At KL we had to queue to get our boarding pass to Perth - took a good 20 minutes to find the counter
and when we did get there the business counter was closed. Kuala Lumpur to Perth B 777 - what a
difference in plane, the seats were the new system, they are not totally lie flat but very close,
lots of legroom, service once again fantastic. Try and check what plane you are flying as 747 & 777
have much better seats.

26 October 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
LHR-KUL Economy. I took this flight as it was the only direct flight available to me and because of
Malaysia Airlines reputation. When I checked in I was informed my choice of seat was unavailable so I
had to have the inboard seat in a row of four. The flight itself was hell. People pay a lot of
attention to seat pitch but seat width is just as critical and these seats are narrow. I sat squeezed
in between two petite ladies (I'm 5'11" and of average build) had I been sandwiched between two guys
there would have been major shoulder room issues. The footrest protrudes into the leg room area and
sits too high for anyone above 5'8" to find of any use. The second problem is that the power supply
for the IFE sits in the way so you end up having to position your legs on a diagonal. And don't even
get me started on the seat comfort; it was like sitting on a plank of wood. Alcohol was very
sparingly dispensed (one small plastic beaker of wine) so I had to ask for more (I'm not talking
alcoholic proportions, three glasses of wine on a 12 hour flight). I spent the rest of the flight
unable to watch a movie clearly or do any work because the person in front had reclined their seat
fully - fair enough it's a night flight. Finally just as I was starting to get to sleep I was ordered
to put my seat up so that they could serve the second meal of the flight (a meal that I didn't want
anyway). Sure the staff smile a lot but that isn't customer service in my book.

BKK-KUL-BKK Golden Club Class. The flight out of Bangkok was on an Airbus, and boasted the most
accomplished crew I've encountered. It was a very welcome way to arrive in Malaysia. Champagne before
take off, a choice of western and South East Asian food and very good wine. Baggage on the carousel
as the passengers got to it. Excellent lounge on return, and then an older but still comfortable 737
to BKK, with wide and comfortable seats, a hot breakfast. Again, the crew was really excellent.

DXB-MEL. The flight Dubai to KL was on a rather tired A330-300. Considering this was around a seven
hour flight I was disappointed when I found out that there were no PTVs onboard. The meals were below
average. The crew was excellent. KUL-MEL was delayed by around 2 hours - ground staff did an
outstanding job by keeping the passengers informed. This time the flight was much better on a B777,
AVOD was good, but not great. Meals average. Overall, MH consistency varies a lot.
