Delhi to Tehran I was greeted by some smiling airhostesses. For a 3 hours and 30 minutes flight in
business class, service was pretty good. Every business class passenger was welcomed with a rose
bud. Amenity kit supplied in a leather pouch. Food well cooked and tasty but presentation needs much
improvement. Seat recline of this A320 was acceptable for the flight time. Portable DVD players were
distributed with a reasonable movie selections.

Business class DUS-THR-BKK return, we had efficient check-in in DUS. Business class seat but not
enough pitch to have a business class comfort as expected. Business class service stops in THR since
no business class cabin THR-BKK. Flight attendants knew very little English. Awful food and drinks
onboard. Very dirty toilets, never cleaned during flights. Return travel has been reconfirmed 72 hours
before flight as requested. Arriving at BKK airport for check-in, we had the surprise to learn that we
were not on pax list, that many flights had been cancelled, and if we manage to get seats on another
airline, Mahan would participate in the cost to bring us back to DUS. Came back in Economy class via
KUL and ZRH with part of the money Mahan gave us. Very far away from a regular airline. If they come
back in Europe be aware they are not reliable. Thanks to the Thai people working for them at BKK
airport. They did a real good job while the station manager was flying away to THR to avoid (probably)
facing angry and disappointed passengers stranded at the end of August 2007. We are still trying to
get money back for our down grading.

Tehran to Kerman on an old A300. Flying Mahan Air is normally good but
do not fly in hot summer of Iran, because the management of this airline
know nothing about temperature in an airplane which was on the ground
for 3-4 hours under sunlight in July at Tehran airport. They are not
willing to use airconditioning facility - temperature was about 40
degrees and we had to seat in the airplane for half an hour to complete
boarding. In the air, the situation got better but all of passengers
were wet. In the past airline was much better, but day by day it is
worsening.

DUS-THR-BKK at only 475 Euro for the roundtrip. The flights were on
time. Flights were full or nearly full. Mahan air allows 30 kg for
luggage. The food onboard is good and in large quantity. Even at the
stopover in THR Mahan air offers free food and drinks at the airport. So
in total we got 10 meals during the whole trip. Airline staff is very
polite. Don't expect new airplanes, but they are clean. There is no
inflight entertainment. I can recommend this airline to anybody who
wants to have a cheap and reliable flight. No luxury, and no thrills.
THR airport is clean, and quiet to spend the time during transfer.
There are free internet boots and free WIFI connections to surf the
internet.

MAN-BKK business class. Value for money Mahan Air is fantastic. Service
was fantastic, food was above avarage and seats in business class were
the same as flying LH/BA up to about 1994-5. They recline to a good
position and there is inflight entertainment and movies on personal
players. It costs about half the price of a standard business class seat
so its great value. A310 from Manchester was spotless and crew were very
nice - we were served unlimited drinks and snacks.

Manchester - BKK via Tehran 28/12/06 : eventually flew on 29/12/2006. Delays are an expected thing in
this day. Eventually arrived Tehran - treated appallingly, put in a room for 17 hrs fed one time in
this period. If anyone is considering travelling with Mahan Air, please take note of the
complaints registered on this site, as this airline is nothing more than incompetent at the very least.

29 December - flight to BKK from Dusseldorf. Due to a snow storm in
Teheran all flights there were cancelled. Although the snowstorm was
nobody's fault, the handling of the situation could be much better. No
hotels were offered (though some passengers came from 500 km away), no
alternative flight was offered (one but 4 days later!). The staff is not
experienced to handle these situation. Dusseldorf went crazy after Mahan
stated that simply it isn't their fault so they do wouldn't offer any
service anymore : not acceptable.

Dusseldorf to Bangkok and back. Service good, staff friendly, plane on
time, food was OK. Seats were good. I think because it has had some bad
reviews, the airline is not listed in the global booking system (you
have to find your agent in your country), it comes from Iran and stops
in Teheran its not very popular. Big advantage of this unpopularity is
however you can use more than one seat to sleep during the flight. At
the stopover in Teheran we got a voucher to get enough food (delicious
cakes!) and drinks. If watching TV and movies is important for you
during the flight, you better choose another airline. If you can read
Arabic subtitles you are OK though. In conclusion Mahan Air is nothing
special, nothing bad or good, just a no nonsense airline. Except for the
price which is incredibly cheap.

Dubai-Tehran-Erbil and back. DXB Terminal 2 departure was on time in a
clean A320. J class food was good if unimaginative, you get a natty
toiletry bag and just as enjoyable is Tehran's newish Imam Khomeni
Airport. Someone was a bit enthusiastic when they put it 80Kms from
downtown Tehran but it is very marbly, modern and spotlessly clean. The
flight to Erbil in northern Iraq was on time but not the return which
was 3 hours late. Three shiny stars to Mahan Airlines for great service
and a competitive price!

DUS-THR-BKK return. Flight were on time. The stop in Teheran was
flawless and we could have free coffee, tea, sandwich or cake at the
airport coffee shop. Airbus airplanes are oldebut clean. Flight crew is
friendly and helpful. The quality of food good and in large quantity.
Almost non existent inflight entertainment, but Mahan air offers a good
service at a unbeatable price.

BKK-IKI-DUS return in economy. Very good value for money. All flights on
time, the A310-300 spotless as the IKI airport. Very friendly service
especially during transit, we got invited to drinks and snacks in the
transit lounge. I did not miss the entertainment system. I will
certainly fly Mahanair again.

DUS-IKA and IKA-DUS. Great service onboard, flights on time, clean
aircraft, good catering, personnel was available for service with a
smile! Good ground service/check-in staff in both DUS and IKA. A really
satisfying experience compared to what you would expect!

Dubai to Cochin via Bandar Abbas. The service was great especially with
the bargain price that I paid for. Compared to a year ago the service
has changed dramatically despite flying from the dirty small Terminal 2
airport in Dubai, the rest of the flight was one to remember especially
the food.

Dussseldorf to Delhi with Mahan Airlines. It was the worst experience I
ever had during any flight. I booked vegetarian meal about two months
before flight but still it was not available in the flight so had to
spend night hungry. After reaching Tehran, one of the most pathetic was
observed as all the passenger, who was supposed to take the connecting
flight were asked to stay inside a room named 'emergency lounge' for
next 4-5 hours. No one was even allowed to come out of the room. The
aircraft were horrible - seats were broken and even the staff was not
sure about the safety of aircraft. In fact I was so horrified with this
experience that when coming back, although I had a booking of return
flight from Mahan, I preferred to come back by Lufthansa. In future, I
will not fly Mahan Air. I don't understand who gave them 3 stars. It is
not even worthy of flying.

Recently flew Mahan Air from Dubai to Delhi via Tehran. Excellent
service in Dubai though Terminal 2 is the not so preferred terminal.
Flight was on time. High customer service in Dubai and onboard with the
crew. Once arrived in Tehran, service was extremely poor. Just one
female staff who escorted us through transfer desk spoke fluent English,
very helpful. Unfortunately no one else spoke English or even treated us
like passengers. I would travel Mahan Air again but not if it transits
in Tehran. Very rude, unprofessional and impolite ground services in Tehran.

DXB-COK (via Bandar Abbas) on Mahan Air. Departure from Dubai delayed by
just over one hour with no information made available to passengers.
However, it must be said that Dubai Terminal 2 is, in terms of
information, a black hole - there are no monitors showing departure
information installed in any of the gate holding areas. Aircraft was a A
319 with all-economy configuration and leather seats throughout.
Excellent leg room in all rows. Female cabin crew very well groomed, but
male crew members looked like they were off duty (unshaven, open shirt
collars, no neckties). On the 35 minute leg to Bandar Abbas, a snack
comprising cake, chocolate bar and fruit juice was served. Same aircraft
carried on to Cochin, but crew was changed. New crew same as previous
one: well groomed female FAs, but the male crew somewhat scruffy. On the
leg to Cochin, an excellent meal was served, main course being sauteed
chicken with mushrooms accompanied by Roesti potatoes, along with bread
roll, huge amount of butter, plain yoghurt and chocolate pudding. What
impressed me above all was the attention paid to enforcement of safety
regulations, such as seat belts, tables, seat backs, etc. - much above
Indian carriers on same route. Would fly Mahan Air again.

DUS-THR-BKK-THR-DUS, economy. The flights were never on time. The
service was awful and the cabin staff very unfriendly to the non-Iranian
passengers. The condition of the interior was very bad, so all I could
hope for during the flight was that the technics of the aircraft was in
better conditions. The entertainment on board was very, very poor to
non-existent. Trust me, the money you can save is not worth it. All in
all, it was a very bad experience. I advise anyone against choosing this
airline.

MAN-THR-BKK on Xmas day. Bad start as the
flight was delayed 4 hours. It got better when we boarded, as we were
allowed to sit anywhere that was vacant. We had good leg room. Food was
average - Arabic movie had English subtitles. Had 2 hour stop in Tehran
where security and catering staff were helpful and friendly. Similar
scenario on return flight. Most people were asleep and staff regularly
patrolled aisles. Value for money airline.

Tehran To Kerman on a dirty old Tu 154. Even they did not clean
the table trays. Leg room was very bad the airplane was not clean and seats were really
uncomfortable. Food was a cold chicken sandwich which was not so good .
On the airline website the airplane was MD83 but an old dirty russian aircraft was there.
I dont know who and based upon what has decided that Mahan Air is a three star airline while it's
domestic flights services is awful. They are not serving pax but only transporting them at the worst
situation.

I flew DUS-THR-BKK-THR-DUS in July and August with Mahan in business.
For about 900 euro not one airline can do better. Yes, there were
English movies. In the return flight everyone got a dvd-player so you
could chose what to watch. Food was OK. Seats not very modern, but big
and wide, which is exactly why I choose business class. I agree the
first class lounge in THR isn't really first class, but on your return
flight from BKK you can go into the Royal lounge of Thai Airways which
is a real treat! In Bangkok I had to change my return flight. This was
done without a hassle and no extra charge. Reconfirmation of your return
flight can be made on-line. That's also a pro.

The flight was delayed for 4 hours in Tehran on the way from BHX TO DEL.
It was a bad flight experience. It is best to pay £100 or even £200
extra to go on renowned airlines such as Lufthansa, KLM, Emirates or Air
France. The food was not bad but the meal for dinner was the same as the
meal for breakfast. Seat pitch was bad. Cabin crew rude and no films
were shown in English.

DUS-THR-BKK-THR-DUS, economy. A very mixed flight experience. The old
A300-B6 (bought from Thai
Airways) offered a very good seat pitch in economy class, but the newer
A310 had the same seat pitch
as all other airlines. There was no properly working in-flight
entertainment on all flights. Cabin
Crew was quite unfriendly to non-iranian passengers. On the descent to
Tehran, the FA handed out
scarfs to european women (without any instruction on how to wear them).
During the stopover in
Tehran, all passengers were taken to the old first-class lounge and
offered non-alcoholic drinks.
During the security check, men and women were separated. The meals
during the flights were average
but always the same. All in all, the flight was worth the money, but
next time I will spend 100EUR
more and fly with another airline.

THR-BKK on a rather old Airbus 300. I had a seat next to the
emergency exit, which was actually not given to me although it was empty - I had to move there
myself, because, Mahan ground staff in THR don't ask you about any seat-wishes.
Flight was empty, so relaxing - but no entertainment onboard.
Return flight empty as well. We were given a copy of Iran Today in BKK on the way back and on
the second page, there was a picture of a crashed Mahan Air-Flight 2 days before also coming int THR
from BKK. Our exact flight! But nobody was seriously injured. Well, we didn`t feel very safe
anymore after this, but made it all the way to THR safely.

DUS-THR-BKK. Average level in almost all points. The stewardesses were scarves,
all female passengers had to do so too in THR airport, but not in rude manner. A good guiding by
local staff in THR Airport, free access to airport lounge with free non-alcoholic beverages. We were
asked if we have alcohol with us, but not checked.
Catering: Very good breakfast on THR-BKK flight, all other meals on average level.
Iranian sparkling
drinks are of poor quality and very sweet.
Only a few space for legs in the A 310 Airbus, you should be happy if you don' t have a neighbour.

We flew with Mahan Air recently to India and to our surprise it was one of the worst airlines we
have been on. The crew was so unfriendly and rude , not bothered saying a hello to the passengers
boarding the plane.
The inflight catering was also horrendous with same menu repeated as lunch and dinner.
Inflight safety demonstration was done on small screens and was not explained to passengers
properly, really bad in terms of safety.
The inflight entertainment was also horrible same thing shown on long flights that too in
Arabic.
Even for changing the plane at Tehran airport the passengers were made to go through security check
again and the hand luggage was opened and searched in a very rude manner. All the female passengers
were forced to wear head scarfs and were yelled at if it slipped from the head. The Airport staff
was rude to small children even.
On our return journey Blankets were given only if asked and the crew staff
didn't bother about
passengers comfort and we saw crew members taking pillows and blankets for themselves instead of
caring about passengers.
The worst was one of the air hostess didn't bother about switching off her CD player whilst plane was
taking off.
It was indeed one of the worst airlines we have flown with and even other people travelling with us
share the same view.

Mahan Airline has by far one of the best inflight catering among the Iranian Airlines. I was
delighted. Moreover a majority of their fleet is Airbus aircrafts. I hope this quality service and
fleet change to an all Airbus fleet continues.

I think that Mahan Air is a perfect airline in Iran. I have had a lot of
flights Kerman-Tehran-Kerman and they were perfect. The staff were kind and polite and they could speak
English very well.
