I can safely say Lufthansa is the worst airline I have ever flown! The 747 aircraft are old,
cramped, uncomfortable, with torn seat covers, poor sound quality and no personal viewing
equipment. In flight entertainment for a 12 hour flight consisted of small overhead TV
monitors every 10 rows or so, with one movie being shown and the rest of the time flight route
info and advertisements. Flight attendants were rude and unhelpful.

DUB-FRA-BKK return business class. Service courtesy professionalism of cabin staff on all legs
commendable. Food / beverage service as good as other top business products. The seat is
fine, just requires a little bit of patience to get it at the angle to your liking.

MIA to LHR via Frankfurt and return via Dussledorf. All legs a great experience and everything
on the seats worked perfectly, service was friendly and efficient and Dussledorf is a great
mid size airport.

HEL-MUC-KRA-FRA-HEL. Professional service and adequate comfort with the mixture of Citylines,
Eurowings and Lufthansa proper. Food was edible and comfort fine on all the planes
(CRJ900,BAe146 & A320). The biggest minuses come from the total lack of entertainment,
Eurowings's noisy BAe146 airplane and not-so-good on-line check-in system.

Boeing 747-400 Tokyo - Frankfurt Business Class. The first time I've flown Business Class so
I have nothing to compare it to - therefore my comments are perhaps a little unbalanced. The
food was good, service was good and friendly, seat didn't recline 180 degrees but it was
fairly close so therefore a decent opportunity to get a comfortable sleep. All in all a great
experience. Lufthansa Lounge at Frankfurt Airport is a bit of a joke though, the Air NZ
Lounges in New Zealand's Domestic Airports are way superior to this.

BKK-FRA-AMS, FCO-FRA-LAX. Lufthansa Business service is nothing special for a legacy carrier.
Staff are not very enthusiastic, and act like the service is a chore. The seat angle means you
constantly slide to the floor. If connectivity at FRA is not an issue I would look at BA, or
VA for transatlantic routes. Lounge at FRA is nice. The one thing with Lufthansa is Miles and
more, one round the world trip (J class) with Lufthansa (flying star alliance), gives you a
silver status and flight miles giving you flights and upgrades worth approx $1000 US. Overall
Business with Lufthansa is what you expect and nothing more.

DFW-FRA-BOM return. One of the oldest planes I have flown in (747). Cramped seating even for
a relatively small person like me. FRA has to be one of the worst airports. After landing
they make you get down on the tarmac - get on a bus and drop you off - thus you lose valuable
time if you have a connecting flight. Airport staff unfriendly and often rude. After getting
off of the bus you walk between a file of German police-men. Also expect "special attention"
from German security staff on the journey back to USA - if you dont look American. Flight
attendents were fine considering they had to deal with really bad equipment. Special meal
requests are a hit and miss so pack a meal with you. If you can afford it then use a different
airline.

CapeTown-Portland in First/Business. The 747-400 JNB-Frankfurt was only half full and my lie-
flat Business class seat in the upper deck was quiet, roomy, and comfortable. FA's called me
by name and kept me fed and drinks topped off on the 10 hour trip to Frankfurt, and I slept
for 6 hours. A better-than-expected steak and good South African wines were enjoyed after
takeoff. A delicious hot breakfast served prior to landing in Frankfurt and a Concierge
escorted me through the transit area and took me to the Lounge, where I checked email and took
a shower. About an hour before my 9:50am departure to Portland I was upgraded to First Class
on the A340 back to Portland! Another Concierge escorted me to the gate on onto the A340. A
quiche appetizer was followed by a delicious stuffed-chicken breast and a chocolate mousse for
dessert. A sandwich and delicious piece of cake were served 1 hour prior to landing in
Portland. I cleared Customs in 3 minutes and my luggage (with a Priority Tag) arrived
immediately.

YYZ to FRA. I must compliment the check-in staff at YYZ. One of them followed me to security
to give me my seat change. Food was good. LH loses points for the complicated and
uncomfortable seat. I never found a workable sleeping position. Also, the entertainment system
did not work properly, either shutting off, or changing channels on me.

AMS - Munich - IST return in economy. Flights between AMS and MUC on Canadair RJ, which are
surprisingly comfortable. Flight to and from IST on A320/321. Munich airport is clean and
organized and easy to navigate, but distances can be long. The free news papers are great. On
the return I had a scheduled transfer time of only 30 minutes, but with the incoming flight
delayed, it left me just 10 minutes to clear immigration, basically leave the secured area to
enter it again on another level, go through security and walk a mile to the departure gate,
where I did make the connection. The door closed after me, and I am quite sure that most
others did not make this connection. Lufthansa serves good food on its flights with free
drinks. There is no in-flight entertainment and safety instructions are still fully manual by
the crew.

ZRH-MUC-BCN-MXP-ZRH with LH since it was cheaper than fliying directly with LX. All flights
were pleasant, especially the new Lufthansa Italia from BCN to MXP. Great Service on time and
love the uniforms and interior of this aircraft. For a 1.5 hour flight we got a nice sandwich
and drinks with a smile. From MXP to ZRH was with Swiss.

MUC-ICN in economy as a rather tall guy means no leg space as seats are set very close to each
other as in almost all LH flights. No in-seat-entertainment, instead a few monitors with
strange colours in the cabin. Staff was friendly and professional. Food was ok and the best
thing, free alcohol to overcome the squeeze in the seat.

CPH-FRA-OPO return in economy. CPH-FRA A321 delayed 30 mins. Boarding quite messy although we
boarded according to seat rows. Inflight service consisted of a cold and tasteless sandwich, a
chocolate bar and a drink. Transfer in FRA smooth and departure to Porto on time. Served a hot
meal with drinks, followed by tea/coffee. OPO-FRA again on A320, hot meal and as much as 3
rounds of drinks/tea/coffee. In FRA left at remote stand and bussed to the terminal, same
scenario once departing to CPH 1 hour later. Aircraft A320 and once again a sandwich with
drink, arrival in CPH on time. Apart from the delayed first leg everything went smoothly, and
€190 was a very good price considering the overall level of service provided by LH. Will fly
them again on European trips, especially at this price level.

Frankfurt-Los Angeles. In economy, Lufthansa is nothing like their motto: "No better way to
fly". This motto should not be allowed if you asked me. I've flown Lufthansa from Europe to
Los Angeles a few times and the detail alone that they don't offer in-seat entertainment is
extremely lame. Also, the FAs only rarely seem satisfied with having to serve for you.

Early morning flight from Manchester to Munich on an A319. The aircraft was clean with good
legroom and decent inflight magazine. The crew were smart and professional, with a proactive
attitude, doing a lot for elderly passengers and those travelling with small children. We were
served a sandwich and drinks along with tea and coffee. Arrived 20 minutes early in Munich and
were straight on gate.
