10 August 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
WAW-ORD business class. English announcements short and difficult to understand.
Food service excellent. Seats comfortable, but seat adjustment stopped working half
way into the flight. Information policy from airline needs improvement, lack of information
on reason for delay and estimated depature time. Helpfulness of ground pstaff poor.
Flight delayed out of Warsaw, so the family missed the United
Airlines connection flight. Long waiting time at LOT counter (1 hour). LOT staff unwilling to
book on alternative airline (AA had seats available), first flight they would offer was 2 days
later. Ground staff would not provide voucher for two days in hotel at the same time, but
requested to come back the next day to go through the same procedure (and wait time?) again. I ended
up booking 4 new tickets on AA from ORD to the final destination to end that odyssey.

MAD-WAW-MAD Economy. I think there is a huge difference between LOT in the air and LOT on the ground.
First leg on B737, lot of space, hot meal, refreshing towels, plenty of drinks. Return on Embraer 170
in configuration 2x2, much better and more comfortable than B737. New leather seats, soft and
comfortable, excellent seat pitch, hot meal. Both flights on time and not overloaded. The only
downside is that the return trip was rescheduled and we left Warsaw at 10:30 PM (instead of 9:10 PM)
arriving in Madrid at 2:00 AM. LOT of course did not bother to send a mail or a sms to inform anyone.

Domestic flight Szczecin to Warsaw. Tried to book on the web and got a
fare of around 60€ but as usual the website did not work properly, so I
had to ring their call center instead. The price was now around 80€! I
had to take the flight so I could not do much even if it felt almost
like a scam. Check-in at SZZ opened two hours before departure,
everything smooth. Embraer 145 - nice one-hour flight in a comfortable
seat (with seat reservation on the boarding pass). Catering limited to a
glass of orange juice or water (so no hot drinks and nothing to eat) but
it was served for free. I had only carry-on baggage, so at the bus stop
outside the terminal at WAW five minutes after leaving the aircraft. The
LOT employees I encountered were polite and kind. I hope LOT Polish will
provide a usable website for booking next time. Szczecin Airport was a
pleasant experience - a small but modern and fresh regional airport in
the middle of a wood north-east of the city.

We were rerouted by Lufthansa in economy MUC-WAW-HEL. Last leg was LOT.
At chaotic WAW airports transfer desk LOT staff didn´t take us to WAW-
HEL flight as they claimed they had no information about us. Everything
was in order, we had Y-class tickets, reservation was confirmed by
Amadeus and we had carry-on bags. Flight was closed before 30min
scheduled departure time as they said and they advised us to go LH
office. No advise anymore. We had to search LH office by going through
customs, chaotic arrival hall, walk and run through parking halls and
stairs as there were'nt any info for departure hall. LH apologized us
and said, it is LOT. Got rebooked to Finnair flight. Must say that LOT
should not be part of Star Alliance.

Chicago-Warsaw-Bucharest and back. Flights almost always take off at
least one hour late, so give yourself a generous connection time. Pilot
makes announcements in Polish and English but both sound the same. Check
in procedures are chaotic (especially at Warsaw) and there is little
effort by LOT employees to establish an orderly line at the counter,
with lots of shouting and queue jumping. Do not check luggage; bring
only carry-on. Make sure you reconfirm reservations between 72 and 168
hours before flight, or you lose your booking. But do not try to
reconfirm on the web site because the software does not work and you
will always get an error message. Best to use a phone card and call LOT
in New York for all issues, no matter where you are. Outside of US, LOT
employees make pretend to understand English but probably do not. LOT
is much cheaper than the competition, but you get 3rd world service.

WAW-ORD business. 767-300 in 2x2x2 configuration, with only 18 business
class seats (2 reserved for crew). The angled lie flat seats were clean,
comfortable and user friendly (functional cup holders, and cubby holes
are helpful). I had been advised to avoid bulkhead because of limited
legroom, and while I was actually seated in row 2, I did inspect them
and would have had no problem at all sitting there. Crew friendly and
attentive, although somewhat slow serving the meal service, which once
served was quite good. Excellent wine selection. I was not a big fan of
the portable multimedia player provided all business class seats, while
the selection was quite good, I enjoy watching the inflight airshow on
the traditional IFE systems attached to the seat, which is impossible
with the portable version (at least mine). Warsaw airport was enormously
busy, but business class check-in (somewhat hidden) was empty and
efficient, with priority customs clearance. I preferred the lounge by
gate 10, as it was much less crowded than the lounge by gate 5.

EWR-WAW-KRK: Pleasant flight from Newark to Warsaw, with movie and
interesting food. Staff was attentive and I began to wonder what the
fuss about LOT was all about. The trip back was another story.
KRK-WAW-FRA-EWR: After a six-week stay in Krakow, it was time to head
home with the same arrangements as before - fly to WAW to get a
transcontinental flight back. Except LOT shoved us on to EuroLOT KRK to
WAW. Then at WAW we were informed that our seats were "cancelled."
After an infuriating argument with the very rude woman at registration,
we were put up in the Marriott across the street for the night and given
a flight home via Frankfurt. This time it was Lufthansa for both and a
much better experience. I'll take the Star Alliance airlines (miles)
but I'll think twice before willingly going with LOT again.

After booking a flight from Krakow to Warsaw three months prior through
Expedia, I was told my paper tickets were not valid by the ticket agent
and that I was not able to use them for that said flight. Having to make
our destination, considering it was our gateway home, I had to purchase
new tickets for the same flight; all in all spending over twice as much
for the trip. After returning home and making a complaint, I was told
that the bearers of those original tickets never checked in and that I
would have to take it up with their claims department. I have yet no
word. This whole ordeal has been ridiculous and definitely put a damper
on our trip. I can only hope these testimonials are of help to folks
that are traveling.

AMS-WAW-AMS in economy. Going to WAW no issues whatsoever; check-in
opened late, but that was more KLMs fault as they do the ground handling
for LOT in AMS. Very slow to check-in, too, but it was nice to be
checked in for my return flight the following day as WAW can be very
chaotic and painstakingly slow. The aircraft was upgraded to a 737-400;
was alright, though not as nice and roomy as the Embraer. Crew friendly
and attentive. Return the following day in an Embraer 170 - good
flight, left on time and, as usual, very empty aircraft, which meant
lots of room. Catering is good - more than on KLM. Only grip about LOT
is that they still use paper tickets, which is a bit of a nuisance, but
I hear that they are starting to promote the e-tickets. Other than that
no problems with LOT.

My friend and I have just made 4 flights with LOT between Heathrow and
Krakow via Warsaw. What a shambles that airline is! Things didn't bode
well when a poor man at Heathrow who had been boarded and had checked in
his bags was refused entry at the gate - unless he paid again apparently
- onto a plane that was already delayed from 06.50 to gone 09.30 - and
then when we finally boarded we spent another hour sitting on the tarmac
with little or no explanation. Then passed a happy hour with all and
sundry using their phones, wandering around the plane and some even
asking to get off before we started moving just after 11.00. On arrival
at Warsaw in a dense blizzard "the weather is not so good" was the gem
of wisdom from the crew - we had the pleasure of encountering some
grumpy ground staff who told us we had (of course) missed our connection
but who finally booked us onto the next flight - they had no idea when
that was leaving as it was already 2 hours delayed. Yes it was snowing
but it was Poland in January!! The short internal flight was actually
good, fast and felt safe. The food on the flights was interesting to say
the least and the crew obviously do not get trained in smiling. They
make you feel like they are doing you a favour. Coming home - approx 15
hours journey due to a flight delay in Krakow mid morning for no reason,
with no communication and no announcements or assistance in English for
the many non Polish passengers. This meant we nearly missed the plane
due to queuing in a long line as they looked for missing passengers,
who were right in front of them struggling in a fog of LOT induced
confusion. Of course, on arrival in Warsaw our connection to London had
gone (on time! Why on earth was that the only one that left on time!)
and we battled a myriad of opinions and sulky faces, being passed from
pillar to post whilst the ground staff decided what to do with a bunch
of 10 English passengers - finally we were booked onto the 8pm to
Heathrow, some 5 hours after the plane we should have caught easily had
gone. That left 40 mins late! Overall LOT planes look tatty, inflight
service is sulky and unhelpful and attention to safety was terrible.
Poland - a great country. LOT - use at your peril.eir safety record
afterwards. It'll be BAA or easyjet for me next time.

Just returned from Warsaw with LOT Polish. I booked my flight online but
for some reason it was not possible to order an e-ticket. I had to
choose the old fashioned claim-your-paper-ticket-at-the-airport option
(for the first time in several years) but within 30 minutes I got a
phone call from the LOT office in Copenhagen asking me if I would like
to have the ticket sent home. WAW-CPH on Embraer 170 aircraft. Helpful
staff at check-in and nice flight in a modern aircraft. Y class
passengers got free meal, soft drink and coffee. On SAS you even have to
pay for a glass of water. It's a shame that LOT have to use Warsaw
Airport, where the current terminal is too small, too crowded and too
old-fashioned, and has very few facilities.

My wife and I flew with LOT from Ottawa to Tallinn via Toronto & Warsaw.
We arrived to Toronto with Air Canada (very nice short flight) once in
the front counter there was a long line made mostly by dozens of kids
with their suitcases covered with layers of tape (?) so finally we
boarded the plane on time but we couldn't stop noticing the dirty
looking and worn off interiors of the 767. We tried to ignore that and
relax, thing that was quite impossible since all this kids were running
up and down the plane, screaming and changing seats, and no flight
attendant told them a thing. Actually they seem to have disappeared
serving the dinner. The inflight movie was never shown, actually it was
played only some couple of minutes of it and it was turned off right
away with no explanation at all. We arrived to the chaotic Warsaw
airport and took our final connecting flight to Tallinn on a small
almost empty flight with 6 or 10 people at the most on board. Would we
use again the services of LOT? I don't think so, their 767 planes need
an immediate cleaning and change of interiors, and their flight
attendants are not so friendly. Some seem even angry or sad. Their
prices are a little bit cheaper than other airlines and that would be
the only attractive point I would say.

WAW-AMS in Economy. Not full whereby each passenger had two seats to
stretch out on Embraer ER170 aircraft. Crew friendly, though not
overly. Plenty of catering with crew walking through the aisles
offering drinks or candies. Catering is good; just enough for a short
flight. On time performance despite late boarding at the chaotic T1 in
WAW. All-in-all would recommend for short routes; cannot comment on
transatlantic services!

ORD-WAW business. I arrived on ORD by United 737 from CLE and found out
my flight to Warsaw is delayed by 5 hours. The LOT ground personel on
appeared to be brainless with very poor English and poor Polish too.
There was nobody in the business lounge at the front desk so anyone
could sneak into it. Lack of information what is going on, lack of any
order while boarding. During the flight on an old 767-300 the staff
appeared to be annoyed by the delay and shad bad attitude to its work.
No smile on the face, slow reaction time, winces on faces. The new seats
were already spoiled, hand DVD battery fell out, movie repertoire 3
years old (!) Terrible experience. I don't need to tell you that I will
avoid this airline whenever possible.

FRA-GDN Economy Class. Nice aircraft. When we were boarding from the
angle I was standing it looked like a Boeing 737-800, but then I
realised looking at the nose it was an Embraer 170 and brand new. I
like the 2x2 arrangement much better than 3x3 and seats were very comfy
with adjustable headrests and side wings (on a flight lasting 1.5 hours,
I've never seen that before). In fact no complaints at all about the
aircraft, very smooth and quiet. The safety briefing wasn't very good
and flight crew could be a little more friendly. Soon after takeoff,
given a towelette, which I suppose is the poor mans hot towel, but it is
still nice to see. Inflight meal was very interesting. I opened the
box and saw a sandwich and a small tray with meat and cheese - except it
was 2 slices of bread, which you butter yourself and make your own
sandwich, sort of a DIY sandwich, but you could choose how much to put
on, it would have been nice to know that's what it was, as everyone ate
the meat first before opening the 'sandwich', but still a nice idea.
This was followed up with a wafer chocolate bar given seperately. I
liked the fact that the captain came out of the cockpit to say good bye
to everyone. Baggage arrived quickly in Gdansk, but then as Gdansk is
so small, it's not surprising. Overall, a nice flight but if LOT cheer
the flight crew up a bit and change the safety briefing, this could be
an outstanding flight. Once again, I liked the aircraft. If the return
is like the outbound, I would fly them again.

LHR-WAW-KRK. Uneventful flight in a worn-down, fairly old looking
737-400 from Heathrow to Warsaw. The aircraft had a "leased by
Centralwings" sticker on the outside. Food poor - tasteless pork
meatball, reheated overcooked farfalle pasta, limp boiled broccoli. On
the plus side, they gave me a G&T and three bottles of red wine which
eased the pain and I had an emergency exit window seat with ample
legroom. Changing to a domestic flight in Warsaw is ridiculous - you
need to arrive in Poland, then walk round to the domestic terminal, and
pass security again - and consequently, they wouldn't let me take a
bottle of wine I'd bought in LHR on the flight, so needed to check it
in! WAW-KRK was another old, worn 737-500 with only thirty-odd
passengers on board. No food served, just a glass of orange juice on
this 30 minute hop. All-in-all, reasonable. Never excited about flying
LOT, certainly doesn't compare with most other European short-haul
airlines but this ticket was a special price at flights left at a
convenient time.

MAN-WAW-GDN, WAW-MAN. All three flights in E170s. Nice seats with decent
legroom, but the plane on the third flight looked a bit worn out and the
table in front of me was broken. WAW-GDN delayed about 45min. The
captain said they hadn't informed him that he was supposed to fly that
day. Ridiculous. Apart from this delay, the flights were nice - good
service, acceptable food, on time. The price was also not bad, so I
think I'll fly with them again.

WAW-YYZ: delayed by 18 hours due to mechanical problem. Next day same
route but different aircraft delayed by 20 hours also due to mechanical
problem. That flight might actually be delayed even more since the
flight didn't even leave Warsaw yet. Fortunately we bought a ticket from
Air Canada (code share) and managed to get that ticket changed to fly
through Frankfurt on AC. LOT ground staff rude and unhelpful. I had
problems with LOT before but until now always managed to convince myself
to fly with them again because of the convenience of direct flights -
but enough is enough - his was my last LOT adventure. Their European
flights seem to be better but transatlantic on ageing 767's are a
disaster - these aircraft are falling apart. They have 7 of them and
they have huge problems if one goes out of service due to technical
problems. Service by ground staff is very bad. Inflight service can be
non-existent or good - but more often is non-existent. They quickly
serve dinner and go to sleep for the rest of the flight. It's is up to
you to get drinks from the kitchen.

Newark - Warsaw in early December on Boeing 767. Had to check in again
via big line for boarding pass after my United connecting flight arrived
from IAD. Found my window seat occupied by old lady, who indicated she
was graciously giving me her aisle seat. The aisle seat cushion was
tilted to the right and down at a slight angle and no adjusting could
fix it. While sitting in a broken seat for eight hours didn't appeal to
me, making a scene to make an old lady sit in a broken seat wouldn't
have been nice. Cabin service friendly, meal typical transatlantic fare.
It would be nice if they did a little more cabin maintenance work on
seats and internal environment. Warsaw - Odessa on clean Embraer 170.
Check-in ways quick and problem free. Cabin service friendly. Unexciting
but edible LOT cafe snack box served with lettuce, ham, tomato, and few
other miscellaneous items. In summary, friendly and efficient service,
clean aircraft in good working order, on-time arrival and departure.
Overall experience was good, and I would fly LOT again on this route.

TOR-WAW. Flight cancelled at short notice, dates rescheduled with some
difficulties and attitude from phone staff. Being told that since I did
not purchase my ticket directly from Lot (I got it from Flight Centre),
they would not do anything for me and I should contact Flight Centre.
Vegetarian meal requests lost in both directions. Left a message for a
supervisor regarding rescheduling issues and never got a response. On
the return flight I was told there was no room on the plane. They did
manage to find room in the end but the amount of aggravation I had to
put up with flying LOT was a joke.

We flew Lot out of Chicago - the flight was delayed almost two hours.
Food bad as usual, service ok. Comimg back from Krakow the flight was
delayed one hour, we missed our connection in Warsaw and were to take a
later flight which was 2 hours late. Therefore we missed our connection
in Chicago. Service this time was terrible, the flight attendant
practically threw the food at us. In the 9 hour flight they offered
drinks twice - after the meal and after the so-called breakfast.

Had our first - and last - trip on LOT on September 1 - JFK-WAW and
September 8 - WAW-EWR. Our 6:20 pm flight to Warsaw did not depart
until 12:25 AM. When we finally arrived in Warsaw in mid-afternoon
(instead of 9 :20 am, as scheduled), one of our pieces of luggage was
crushed so badly that everything in it had to be ironed. Our flight
arrived so late that we lost all of the "free time" we were supposed to
have in Warsaw before joining our tour group that evening. The return
flight on the 8th was somewhat better - it was delayed by only an hour -
although the plane was sitting there for at least two hours before
flight time! Apologies were offered for the delays - but they can
apologize until the end of time and we'll still never get back the time
we lost in Warsaw.

Flown LOT couple of times on HEL-WAW-HEL route and twice on WAW-BUD
route. Every single time the flight was delayed and no specific reasons
were given, in HEL usually the reason was late departure from WAW to HEL
from where the same plane returns to WAW. At the WAW airport it is
almost impossible to get information about flight delays before you're
past the security check and at the gate and then you usually just get
very vague explanations about the delay. Once waited for luggage for
more than an hour at WAW airport. Embraer 170s were a bit worn out,
broken lavatory doors, etc,and B737 which was relatively new but a bit
tired. FAs don't really care about serving the passengers, they just
throw the sandwich at you and disappear (and always the same sandwich in
triangular box, one half salmon, one half ham) And no possibility to
choose special diet, no vegetarian, no low lactose, no nothing. Next
time you see them is when they pass on the drinks, only coffee, tea and
soft drinks. No alcohol, not even beer or wine on those flights I've
been on. I only fly LOT in case I have no other choice.

ORD-KRK return in Business class. New angled lie-flat seats, crew
outstanding on both flights, lots of food, Dig-E players with 8 movies

Only complaint was that the menu did not have any choices. Other than
that, was pleasantly surprised by flight.

NYC to Kiev in Coach. Bad quality seats, broken door to bathroom. They
ignored my choice of seats, made over the internet. Also, ignored my
request for a special lactose-free meal. Flight was cancelled without
explanation, and I was summarily scheduled for the next day, without
compensation. When I asked why, customer service guy told me that there
was no reason - that it was just cancelled. Then, arrived late in
Warsaw, and connecting flight had already left, requiring an overnight
in Warsaw. Requests for compensation, pursuant to the EU rules, remain
unresponded to. Terrible airline. I will not fly it again.

YYZ-WAW-TLV Business Class. I found LOT satisfactory, if dull in its food service. The staff were enthusiastic and
cheerful, on the ground and flight crew. At check -in I was switched from a problem seat

department, but the cost of the flight was closer to econmy air fare. Given the right bargain, I

I flew LOT from LHR-KRK (737-400) and WAW-FRA (737-500) in late April. I
must say LOT must be the worst airline I have ever travelled on. Their
aircraft were tired and dull and the flight crew were rude and extremely
unwilling to help. I don't believe shouting at passengers to sit in
their seat (the seat belt sign was not on) is a way to win over
customers. I had ordered the Kosher meal on the flights and these meals
more resembled a low grade cat food. On both flights I did not eat.
Although the flights were relatively short I could not wait to get off
the aircraft. There was no entertainment on the flights either. On the
LHR-KRK flight I was put in the so called "Business Class" it was
exactly the same as economy class in every way except for the fact that
on the head rest it said Business Class, there was also a curtain
between the two cabins. Overall I'd rate LOT staff 1/5, the meals 0/5
and overall experience would be 1/5!

I know their JFK/EWR-WAW transatlantic route all too well. LOT, even in
the days of flying the Russian planes, used to be a jewel - excellent
food, service, and friendly if timid staff. Not any more - a no-thrill
discounter with a substandard service typical for quick commuter trips
on run-down Boeings. After one 9-hr-long trip on a falling apart seat
(no replacements) I sent a letter of complaint to LOT - to get, after
months of delay, a short note of thanks for "my improvement suggestion".
The new and now seemingly predominant LOT clientele on the transatlantic
route doesn't help in upholding basic service standards; speaking mostly
in Russian and Ukrainian they're focused on what's left behind and
what's ahead, simply oblivious to flight conditions.

WAW-KRK 25 May 2006. Short hop down to Krakow after arriving in Warsaw
from Brussels on another airline. Flight operated with a new Embraer 170
- large windows, plenty of legroom, 2+2 cabin layout and comfortable
leather seats. Flight on time, despite the bus driver taking us to the
aircraft from the terminal getting lost and driving to the wrong end of
the airport! Was expecting a "LOT Cafe" concept box with a sandwich and
drink but disappointed to only be offered a thin chocolate wafer (Prince
Polo) and a glass of orange juice (only orange juice or water on
offer!). Despite this, the flight was pleasant, very quick, far
preferable to a train journey in Poland and cost next to nothing - LOT
have some excellent domestic fares on their website.

If you are thinking about flying to Poland from the USA (or vice versa)
- please think again if you plan to use LOT Polish Airlines. My Easter
trip back to Poland was the last one that I did using this carrier. I
do understand that things happen, planes get delayed and not everything
goes always as planned but the way those situations were handled by LOT
management is unacceptable. The unfriendliness and lack of
professionalism were very disturbing to me. It started with a delay in
Wroclaw (2 hours) – we were scheduled to catch the 2:45 pm plane to
Warsaw and than the 5:10 pm plane to JFK. Our plane did not land in
Warsaw until 5:20 pm but one would think that with 8 people trying to
make it, LOT personnel would try to do everything to get us on that
plane. No. The plane to JFK took off at 5:27 pm, they could not wait 10
minutes and have us transferred. Surprisingly, this is not the most
frustrating part of this – “It is what it is”, “It’s not my fault”, “I
can’t help you”, and my favorite: “Well, you were late!” were the
phrases that we have heard from almost everyone that was supposed to
help us. Sure, there are some people that know what they are doing and
they do remember that Poland is now a part of the European Union, but
somehow the 8 of us did not have much luck to come across those people.
The only explanation I can think of is the fact that they re-sold our
seats with a full knowledge that those 8 people were in the air already.
From now on I will choose Lufthansa or British Airways to get me to
Poland, and maybe one day LOT Polish Airlines will catch up with the
rest of the world – if you don’t provide your customer with the service
that one pays for you will not maintain them.

A short Easter break to Wroclaw involving flights with LOT and Lufthansa ouwtard changing in Warsaw
and on the return leg in Frankfurt. Efficient check in at MAN, and on time departure on a very
modern Embraer 70 with great leather seats. Breakfast served in a 'LOT Cafe' box consisting of
bread, fish paste (not to my taste) and a number of sweet items. Unlimited tea, coffee, juice.
Flight to Wroclaw was 3 hours later
(Warsaw airport to be avoided for long waits for domestic flights as the terminal is not yet fully
upgraded and the domestic terminal is tiny). Refurbished ATR aircraft with nice leather seats and
very professional crew and tea / coffee served - great English spoken and even the odd English
Newspaper on board. Great check in at Wroclaw - 3 desks for our flight (no queues). On the return flight an older
looking ATR to FRA with another 'LOT Cafe' snack box containing an sweet and savoury things (would
suggest it would have appealed to more than the breakfast) with a drinks service. Arrived several
minutes early in FRA but only 12 passengers on the flight. The usual efficient very friendly
Lufthansa service from FRA to MAN - notably the only flight to offer an alcoholic drink.
Overall a positive experience at a bargain £139 plus tax - LH had the edge on LOT but would be happy
to use again bearing in mind the limitations of WAW airport.

Living in Poland (ex -UK) since 1994,I have found the flights with LOT
quite efficient usually-although now just a roll on the flight from
Warsaw to London instead of a hot meal! Living in Poznan 400KM West of
Warsaw ,I usually get /got the internal flight from there to Warsaw(50
minutes in an ATR turboprop). The only problem I had with that is a
cancelled flight from Warsaw to Pozan. They put on a coach and a packed
lunch and we faced the 5 hour drive along the mainly uncomfortable road
to Poznan. I wrote to LOT about it asking for some compensation, but
never heard back. Since then,I have read in the local newspaper that it
is a regular occurence for the flight from Warsaw to Poznan to be
cancelled at very short notice with LOT,so maybe I was lucky not to miss
my London flights from Warsaw! Usually you are stacking around London
for 20 or so minutes before landing at Heathrow with LOT and other
airlines,so maybe just as quick to go with one of the budget Airlines to
Stansted or Luton. The last six months I have been flying to and from
the UK direct from Poznan to Stansted with Ryan Air - shorter journey as
you don't have to fly East and then backtrack West (or transfer).

I flew LHR-WAW. Plane was an older Boeing, but let's face it, would you
rather travel in an even older Tupelov! Legroom more than adequate.
Inflight service unpretentious. It was an early flight and we were
served, a fruit cocktail, a very large brioche, a chocolate wafer bar
and what seemed like pate (which I chose not to eat) and a choice of tea
coffee or soft drinks. There was no charge. For the return leg it was
the same aircraft - served a hot meal of buckwheat, green beans and
chicken, and chocolate wafer bar. Tea, coffee, soft drinks, beer or
wine was also served, and it wasn't a problem to get more drinks. Again
there was no charge, as would have been the case on certain Star
Alliance partners. I'm thinking here of BMI in particular, with whom
this flight was code-shared. All in all a reasonable experience, and if
I had to I would chose LOT again.

POZ-FRA and FRA-POZ in Economy. We flew POZ-FRA. One day before
departure, 6 pm we received a phone call and were informed that our
flight had been cancelled. No reason was given. No apology either.
Luckily there was another plane to FRA on that day, so they moved our
reservation to that one. Bad news for us, since in FRA we had connection
to BKK and missed it. We ended up flying to BKK 10 hours later and with
Lufthansa, not Thai Airways as we were supposed to. And arriving in
Bangkok late made further complications to our trip plan. Anyway, we
should probably be happy, because there were some passangers who didn't
make it for the second flight to FRA that day at all because there were
no free seats for them. Yes, that is called overbooking! Now, sorry to
say that since I am from Poland and LOT is my national airline, but I
hope not to fly with them again. LOT may be good for a one way desperate
"get me out of here", but if you plan any serious trip save yourself
trouble and don't flight with them. Choose a better option - different
option.
