NRT-AMS-GVA Economy. The flights are all full, but FAs provided good service and in flight
entertainment enjoyable during NRT-AMS leg. Only problem was a transfer of the AMS airport,
which has become too large.

BHX-AMS-JNB return. The outbound flight from Schipol to Jo'burg was fantastic. Aircraft (777)
was spotless with great IFE. FAs superb and food excellent. Overnight return also faultless.
I would not hesitate to fly with KLM on that route again.

KLM is now more and more an overpriced easyjet. We had a flight to Bangkok with a Boeing 74E
and thats a plane belonging in a museum. Very narrow seats and some central screens for
entertainment. I'm a frequent flyer elite member and that gives you the privilege to select a
seat 30 days in advance. Because we are traveling with a baby we found that very necessary.
But when we arrived the seats were no longer ours. First they tried to say that these seats
were not suitable for travelling with a baby but we had the same seat on the way in. So we
asked for a better explanation. The seats were given to a platinum elite member. So there are
always better appreciated clients. Than we asked if we could upgrade (by paying extra). They
said there were seat available but that the computer simply didn't work so in the end that
wasn't possible either. KLM have some very nice people working in the cabins. If you like the
Dutch direct approach that is.

Oslo-Amsterdam-Edinburgh Y class. A while ago, I moaned at KLM on this website and they were
good enough to follow it up. I was due to fly back on the late flight out of Oslo, with a long
connection in Amsterdam and then back to Edinburgh - and was due to land at about 10.30pm that
night. One of my meetings was cancelled, so I went to the airport more in hope than
expectation. Not only did the team there change my ticket for €50 - but they did so in a
matter of minutes. The lady at the ticket desk could not have been more helpful, and called
ahead to someone to check me in to ensure that I did indeed make the flight. Again, the guy
at the check in could not have been more helpful. Normally, even if you are a frequent flyer
you tend to feel that you are being treated like a mere number by any airline. On this
occasion KLM treated me like royalty, and got me home four hours earlier than I expected.

SIN-AMS-CPH Economy Class. KLM needs to hire better programmers for their website because
their internet check in system is full of bugs such as changing of seats. On the positive
side, the plane departed on time and they allow passengers with minors board the plane first.
I noticed during checking in of bags, the young and inexperienced staff seems to be more
lenient. The food on both legs was good. They even serve cup noodles towards the end of the
journey for those who were still hungry. There was a very up to date content on their
entertainment system. The toilet was clean and regularly inspected.

KUL-CGK outward journey in economy class and return paid upgraded to business. For a short
sector very good food service and cabin crew very professional. Also very good fares for this
sector. However boarding procedures at both Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta very chaotic!

AMS-KUL Economy Class. Check-in and boarding terrible. I was forced to check-in at a self-
service kiosk (no other option at Schiphol now it seems, not even for business class
passengers, though the lines remain amazingly long). Now self-service would always be my
preference, except that there is still the fragmented 'bag-drop' queue process to deal with
afterwards. Boarding was designated for 70 minutes prior to take-off, but there was a lot of
sitting around. Long and involved discussion about how the plane would be boarded (by rows,
etc), but in the end, it was families/passengers with special needs, business class, then
everyone else. Why bother to say it, if you're not going to implement it? A much newer plane
on this sector than the old B747 on HKG-AMS route. Plane was clean and while packed to the
brims, staff seemed to deal with it okay and with a smile. Food is average on KLM - only one
meat option in the two main meal options, very bland salads and fruit salads. Quite cumbersome
cardboard packaging, too - it makes it difficult to manage eating in a confined space. AVOD
entertainment on the newer jet was good. All in all, KLM was fine, but far from my best flying
experience.

Humberside to Houston. Food and service good - what lets down KLM is ground staff and baggage
handling. Out of 4 passengers, 2 bags didn't make it on the flight to Houston, 1 didn't
arrive back at Humberside. Ground staff at both ends rude and unhelpful, would never use
again.

Customers on KLM flights from Accra to Amstedam must prepare themselves for a lot of waiting
in the Accra airport. Once I (and 20 ticket holders in line behind me) was rejected check-in
in Accra on security grounds because I came 19-30 to check-in for a flight departing 21:40.
However, same evening I bought a ticket on British Airways 90 minutes before BA departure. The
problem are KLM internal procedures - not security requirements. This was confirmed on my next
KLM flight out of Accra. This time I checked in, as requested by KLM, before 19:00 for a
Amsterdam flight, this time leaving Accra on 21:10. My plan was after check-in to get a shower
and a meal outside the airport and return well in time for the flight. However, at check-in I
was handed a note that passengers must report at the gate latest by 18:00. Why is it that
passengers on KLM out of the small airport of Accra have to check-in 3-4 hours before
departure, when KLM can check-in can be made much closer when departing from big airport in
Europe?

Singapore KLM Website for checking in very frequently fails. The Onboard food is not that
appetising. Onboard Movie selection limited with few hits. Toilet paper ran out and not
refilled on time. Slow response and sometimes no response from the crew members when the Help
light is turned on.

BRU-AMS-BRU C class Cityhopper. Full C class fare, plane full both legs. Check in ok, Lounge
in Brussels is Alitalia Skyteam, which leaves much to be desired! No partitions between C and
Y cabins, service is non existent but polite. Just and orange juice and a cracker - fare far
too expensive for services offered. Very old Fokker 50 propeller - did not even know they
still fly these planes. Lounge in AMS perfect.

Arrived at Schipol for my return to Manchester. Was unable to use self service check-in and
forced to join the very long and very slow check-in assist queue - for almost an hour with no
explanation. Eventually was asked if I had any luggage - as I had not I was directed to a
side desk and told that the flight was overbooked. Was given a boarding card with waitlist
number and no promises made. Directed to gate and after going through xray was told to wait
until they sorted out the seats. All helpful and friendly. Just before departure was told I
had been upgraded to Business Class. Business Class seats are the same as almost every other
seat on the aircraft. The food was good but it was impossible to eat it as there is no room to
move your arms and everyone is squashed into their seats. Overall great service in getting me
on the plane after they overbooked it. One thing is certain I will not be paying for Business
Class on this route and I will always check-in on line as soon as the system opens.
