Jet Airways review by B Kukutz
19 January 2007
Flew Jet Airways domestically DEL-BOM-GOI-DEL and was pleasantly surprised by service provided.
Food was excellent on all flight segments. Planes were all quite worn out B737s but felt safe.
Unlike most of the other airlines operating in and out of DEL, all Jet Airways flights I was
travelling on were on time while there was mayhem and chaos due to fog and poor visibility at DEL
airport during xmas and NYE.

BOM–GOI-BOM in Club Premiere class. Transferred from the International
terminal to domestic to meet the outbound flight at 3:30am. Already had
domestic boarding passes so went straight to the CP Lounge which was
open but with limited selection of beverages (tea, coffee and water) but
service by staff was excellent. Daily newspapers and magazines available
in English and clear boarding announcements made for all flights. Flight
left on time and staff friendly as usual. Pre-take off juices, hot
towels and candies offered. Each seat had 2 current newspapers waiting
in the pocket. Opted for the Indian vegetarian breakfast option which
was tasty and portions more than adequate. Coming back much the same
experience. Had roast chicken for lunch which was more tasty than food I
normally eat on CX. Boarding at Goa was chaotic to say the least but my
bag was on the carousel in Mumbai as I approached it. Only negative was
poor attention paid to passengers ignoring safety instructions such as
putting seats in upright position prior to landing. Jet remains my
preferred option for travel within India.

LHR-DEL-LHR Business Class. The finest food I've ever experienced on a
plane. Well presented, good choices. Served by enthusiastic FA's. Seats,
movies etc all better than average. Only issue was the wait of 55
minutes for Heathrow to produce the bridge onto the pier so we could
disembark. Would use Jet Airways again.

I recently flew economy class on Heathrow to Mumbai route. Check-in was,
quick and efficient both ways. The plane was clean and comfortable food
very good, and plenty of wine and spirits regularly offered. The cabin
crew were friendly and efficient.

Recently completed a return economy trip on Jet Airways from Delhi to
Singapore. Both flights operated by new B737-800 "Asean" configured
aircrafts with blended winglets. Flights were operated on time. Seat
pitch is good, recline minimal but still very comfortable. Strangely
there was no one to greet you on boarding the aircraft on both flights.
You just walk in till you find a member of cabin staff. Both flights had
loads of 40-50 pax including J class. So everyone got 3 seats on each
flight. All seats are leather bound and there are tiny overhead LCD
screens playing first run Hollywood movies. The product in general is
very good. The service is inexperienced to back it - but they will get
better. Meals are large in variety and quantity, and they are good too.
Indian, Oriental, Continental are the choices and have an international
touch to it. Spirits, wines and beers are complimentary and are of
premium varieties. Lavatories are generally clean and have basic
amenities such as cologne and lotion. In conclusion, finally there is an
alternative to fly from India to SE Asia. The fares are low and product
superior. Will definitely fly them on this route again.

New Delhi to London Heathrow business class on new A330-200. Check in
friendly and fuss free. A330 is configured with the same J seats as the
A340's on lease from SAA - 180 lie flat with a massage facility. The
lunch menu has a starter as a soup. Salad is missing. 4 entrees. Dessert
a choice of a cheese plate, fruit, or ice cream. Pop corn served
midflight. Pre arrival evening meal is a choice of sandwiches or Indian
snacks such as chicken tikka, shammi kababs. The lunch portions could be
bigger, but I had seconds. IFE is all AVOD on a large individual screen.
A choice of first run hollyood or bollywood movies, on demand music,
games etc. Bose noise cancelling headsets are provided. Inflight kits
are Bulgari. The service is good - crew are young and lack experience.
Fast track is provided for business passengers. Coupled with the great
timing, new aircraft and superior product, Jet is a winner. I am looking
forward to my return flight.

LHR/Mumbai. Outbound only 34 in economy so lots of room and attentive
service from the crew. It is true you need to like Indian cuisine as
there is very limited international choice. On the return flight which
was very busy, my two colleagues and I were offered an upgrade to
business so that we could sit together - a pleasant surprise.

I have flown LHR/Mumbai twice with Jet - nothing wrong with the flight
but if you want a "different" meal please take your own. I have
requested vegan (non-dairy) on all 4 flights and didn't get it - they
gave me butter, yoghurt etc and were very non-plussed when I complained
and was not offered anything else. After the first occasion I got in
touch with head office who assured me they would sort it out for my
return flight but they didn't. Contacted them again before my next
flight and once again had the assurance - in writing - but ended up with
the veggie option which was covered in butter and with cheese. This year
I am taking a packed lunch and dinner!

DEL-HYD in Club Premiere class. The CP counter wasn't open, so I had to
check in with Economy. The queues looked bad, but check-in staff were
reasonably efficient, and I was on my way in about 20 minutes. The bad
thing about the Delhi airport is that the lounge doesn't open until
about 430 am, so since I had to board at 5:10, I didn't have a chance to
take advantage of it. Inflight service was good; a nice selection of
newspapers was offered on take-off along with fresh lime juice and
candies, the meal (breakfast) offered was reasonably tasty, and drinks
and hot towels were offered several times throughout the flight. FA was
not quite as friendly as on other Jet flights I've been on (didn't
address passengers by name, and didn't really smile), but she wasn't
rude. My Priority-tagged bags were the first two off the plane, and
were already coming down the carousel as I walked into the terminal,
meaning I got from the plane to the arrival hall to find my driver in
only 5 minutes.

London to Mumbai and back in business. Attraction is that you can go and

new aircraft.

TRV-BLR, BLR-PUN and PUN-BOM lately. I was surprised to get a call in
TRV informing me of my BLR flight being delayed. First time this has
happened. In my experience the only way you knew your flight was delayed
was either to call the airport office or go there and find out when you
arrived. Check-in in TRV was quick and though boarding for the ATR was a
little confused it was reasonably quick. One point, the air-conditioning
in the ATR doesn't seem to come on till we are airborne so pretty
uncomfortable. Service on all sectors was good and the food was
reasonable, certainly better that a lot that I have had on my Indian
sectors. Both Pune and Bangalore have outgrown their terminals and are
crying out for more modern facilities. Check-in at Pune was trying, very
cramped with three flights departing at the same time. Bangalore too was
crowded in the departure area and the terminal does need jetways.
All in all though Jet scores for service and the general helpfulness of
the cabin crew and ground staff.

London-Mumbai-Chennai-London. A regular business traveller onthis route.
Tried Jet for a change instead of Emirates and BA. While the service and
foood was good, two things put me off - tight & uncomfortable seats with
less legroom (I'm 6' tall) in economy. Delays & cancellantions (twice)
of Mumbai-Chennai flights. Decided to switch back to BA & Emirates as
both have flights to/from Chennai, better seats and are more punctual.

Delhi-Pune, Mumbai-Bangalore and Pune-Delhi with Jet. Great service on
board - efficient and attentive staff on the ground and in the air.
Comfy seats and good food. One negative thing that really puts me off:
They still follow that silly practice of charging foreigners a US-Dollar
fare which is 150% above the rupee fares charged to Indians (even if
booked locally). They should follow the example of rival Kingfisher that
has recently abandoned such rip-off.

Lhr/Bom/Maa return. Heathrow to Mumbai return were punctual. Legroom
slightly tight and seats outbound more comfortable, although same type
aircraft. Choice of meals and attentive service. No problem requesting
extra drinks and frequent juice runs throughout flight. Individual IFE
with choice films. Was dreading the transit at Mumbai but this was
reasonable smooth and efficient, plenty of Jet staff to offer
assistance. The domestic flight from Mumbai to Chennai, although only
1.5 hours offered hot meal and non alcoholic drinks.

Calcutta to Delhi. I was surprised by the quality of their service. The
seating pit seemed a bit narrower than most American airlines, but then
so is the average girth of the passengers. The food was pretty good.
They have two selections: veg and non-veg. The flight attendants were
helpful and in a good mood. Although this flight was domestic, I
sympathize with the poster who complained about the lack of food choices
on international flights. Perhaps Jet could also offer a continental
menu for its foreign passengers.

Aurangabad to Mumbai on 11th February on Jet 9W 3104. Sitting in front
of me was a Jet Airways Flight Engineer - in uniform but obviously off
duty. He was seated in row 4D on an ATR aircraft. During take off , he
had to be repeatedly asked - at my prompting, to put his seat in the
upright position. During the landing at Mumbai he simply refused to put
his seat in the upright position and landed with his seat back. If this
is the attitude to safety by senior crew members in public - I would
hate to know what is going on in the cockpit.

Delhi to Bombay. Totally chaotic boarding: despite both front and aft
doors being available, pax were not directed to the appropriate door
based on their seat rows. Result, with a seat in Row 24 (6 rows from the
back), I found myself battling against a stream of boarding passengers
seated behind me and who had entered through the front steps. With only
about half of all seats occupied at that stage, all overhead lockers
were nevertheless already full - a sign that no one gives a hoot about
the single-piece carry-on policy. Flight attendants not helpful to find
a place to hang my suit, and with an aisle seat, I was repeatedly bumped
into throughout the flight by cabin crew.

BOM-BHJ-BOM-DEL-BOM. These flights were during the current Indian
airport strikes. Indian airports strike or no strike are a disgrace but
that is for the airport forum. Food was good and crew were friendly and
attentive. I have the usual gripes about mobiles and the amount of carry
on baggage although the latter seems to be universal-no one polices
carry on baggage.

Flew Jet Airways Delhi London in November 2005. While their flights
within India are great, the flight to London was poor. Check in
disorganised. Food was poor, flight attendants badly trained. No wine or
beer on trolleys. Passengers were virtually all Indian and service was
aimed solely at Indian tastes movies etc also .While I like Indian food,
the flight attendant couldn't understand why one needed to know more
than "veg" or "non veg" to decide on which meal to choose. Would not fly
them internationally again.

3 January 2006
Mumbai airport services chaotic, but little different from other
airlines in this hell-hole of an airport. Service onboard A340 plane was
not as good as expected - ie from earlier reviews here. Staff offhand
and distant, and long way behind other airlines in SE Asia. Greatest
concerns were the very, very poor application of safety procedures by
cabin staff - this is probably the biggest warning to consider other
carriers our of India to Europe. There are some good European options
which I believe offer much better safety levels compared to Jet Airways.

Delhi to London Heathrow on an A340-300 (leased from South African
Airways). Flight delayed an hour out of Delhi due to fog related ATC
congestion. Though we boarded the aircraft nearly an hour before
scheduled departure time, we sat on ground till we got clearance. Very
light load. 80 pax in all on this 270 seater. This is a terminator
service to Heathrow and I assume this is a reason for the light load. At
the same time there is VS, AI, and BA and these flights carry passengers
onwards to Europe or the Americas. Their flights are full. There is AVOD
with a great selection of Hollywood, Bollywood movies. Good selection of
music and video games too. Seat pitch at 31" is very tight (SAA are
currently extending their seat pitch to 33-34"). The seat bottom is hard
due to the video equipment under. Seat pitch is a big turn off. Crew
service has none of the Air India warmth though. It is good and
professional but can get robotic. There is a good selection of food,
though the entree portion is tiny and I had to ask for seconds. Salad,
aloo paratha, fresh yoghurt (not packaged), entree (Indian or
international), Indian dessert, and baskin robbins ice cream. Bread
rolls are not offered nor loaded. Wine selection is from Australia and
excellent. Food and beverage service scores over Air India. Hot Punjabi
samosas offered mid-flight. Prior to landing a hot chicken or veggie
wrap service. Toilets kept clean and lots of reading material too. Jet
uses T3 at Heathrow.

Three of us flew Jet Airways Mumbai to Chennai. Asked for a window seat
but got put into row 10 ABC There is no window in this row so passengers
beware. Otherwise the flight was good, service and food good. But Jet
should confiscate all mobiles that are not switched off. a passenger
behind us was told three times during the flight to turn his mobile off.
Why not take them from the passengers and store them during flight and
give them back on landing. It seems the only way to deal with some
people.

To answer Mr Trivedi's question of the seat cushion being used as a flotation device. All domestic airlines in India took a decision about
10 years ago to do away with life jackets in Y class as these were
stolen by passengers. It became a regular nuisance and of course a
safety breach. I agree that the seat cushions are not very practical,
but at least it's better than swimming without one. Airlines are now
rest assured that passengers will not walking away with seat cushions!
Jet Airways review by Pankaj Trivedi
22 October 2005
Have flown with Jet airways several times during visits to India. Great inflight service, delicious food, attentive
staff, punctuality etc etc. One problem that they need to address is the availability of life
jackets in case of emergency water landing. The business class passengers have the life jacket to
wear. The economy passengers have no life jackets but will have to use only the seat cushion to
float. In effect, a business class passenger wearing a life jacket will have his hands free and so
can swim away to safety. The poor (in all senses!) economy passenger will have to hold fast to the
cushion so he floats but can not swim away as quickly since he will find his hands occupied in
holding the cushion. So essentially a business class passenger has a better chance to survive than an
economy passenger. Why this discrimination? Why not provide also the economy passengers a life
jacket under the seat?

Have flown Jet several times, and have found it to be an excellent
airline. Courteous and professional staff, a solid inflight magazine,
well presented and adequate refreshment, and on-time
departures. I'd pick this airline over the rest anytime in India.
There's now a good amount of competition in Indian aviation, and this is
obviously causing a bunch of carriers to pull up their socks. One
possibly disturbing thing - last year a Jet Airways flight out of
Bangalore had a failed takeoff and skidded on the runway. The incident
was completely hushed up, and there was no mention of it in the media.
Not a whisper.

I have flown on Jet in their business class perhaps 30 times.
They are good except for one thing. They do not cater for people who
have special dietary needs. I have asked for Kosher meals many many times, and
included my comments at least 8 times on their surveys, but to no avail. Even Lot
airlines in Poland can provide it. All they have to do is buy a few dozen long life
meals and thaw/warm them up. They know I'll fly them because they are clean and on
time. It embarasses the staff when I pull a cup of soup out in Business Class and ask
them to bring me boiling water. I thought once they started flying to Singapore
things might change. It didn't. Competition would help, but Air Sahara don't provide
Kosher Meals either.

Blr-Bom-Sin-Bom-Blr. Great flight - and Jet's international service is even better than their
domestic service. Used my frequent flyer upgrade vouchers on the international legs - and Club
Premiere International is fantastic. Great food and wines, a nice personal entertainment
system (though they can improve the selection of movies available), excellent seats with 58
inches of legroom and decent reclines which is necessary on the Bom-Sin leg since its an
overnight leg. Best of all is the crew - who were really thoughtful and indulgent. Sad parts of
the trip - Transferring from domestic to international and vice versa is quite a pain but stick
to the airports authority coach. The bombay lounge sucks - it is really bad. The biggest problem
is the fact that there are no domestic connections for 6-9 hours for the Sin - Bom route - so if
your final destination is Bangalore, Hyderabad or Chennai, then you are stuck for a while in a
crummy airport.
Jet Airways review by Kurt Müller
19 July 2005
One of Jet Airways' weak spots is the transfer from international to domestic at both
Delhi and Bombay airports. Arriving at 9.30 a.m. at Delhi, the Jet Airways transfer
desk at international arrivals was unstaffed, so I was unable to pick up my PTA ticket
. In India, no ticket means no transfer by inter-terminal bus, and I had to virtually
kick all self-important security and bus staff into submission to ascertain my rights.
Arriving recently at Bombay at 4.30 a.m., and having picked up our baggage and passed
through customs, we picked up our PTA tickets from the Jet Airways ticket counter in
the international arrivals hall at 5.25 a.m. When we attempted to check in for our
6.40 a.m. flight to BLR, the check-in agent refused to handle us because "the flight
closes for check-in one hour prior to departure". When I pointed out to the clock
right above her and drew her attention to the fact that is was, in fact, 5.32 a.m. and
thus 1 h 08 m before departure, she went into the mode we are used to from state-owned
carriers and steadfastly repeated that the flight had closed. We were then advised to
take a taxi to the domestic terminal to make our flight. I feel it is a sign of
absolute incompetence that an airline has to urge its passengers to take a clapped
out, forty year old taxi through the slums built around the airport perimeter in order
to for them to make their connecting flight, when the inter-terminal bus takes less
than 10 minutes.

Am a platinum level member of Jet's FF club, implying that I fly with them often. Have been flying
with them (mainly for work) since 2001. That of course generates enough miles for me to travel on my
own as well. Definitely good international standard and now since they have launched the Mumbai-London service, I
know which airline I shall be flying at least.
The crew is well mannered and pleasant. However because Jet considers itself to be an elitist
airline, have seen cabin crew's attitude to people who don't seem to be from that bracket. Which is
unfair and rather unprofessional.
The food is like whatever. I still do maintain that the food in Business in Indian Airlines is the
best that you can get in a plane in India - no exceptions. I have always have had (with a few
exceptions) getting the type of food that I want on a Jet flight. I pre-order an LCMLNV meal, and
almost never get one. So, I have just stopped eating on Jet.

I recently flew Jet from Bombay to Indore and back. I had booked a month in advance.
The BOM-IDR was change to fly via Bhopal and I was informed over phone about 10 days in advance,
additionaly this was repeated at checkin. Inflight, the hostess was carrying a sheet
of paper, with passenger names, and she addressed every one by names (no Sir/Madam etc). Very
impressive. The IDR-BOM was overbooked, and I was not allowed to board even with an Ok ticket that was booked
a month earlier. Staff arranged to put me in the first flight next morning, even coordinated with
Indian Airlines so that I would make it to my connecting IC BOM-BLR flight - Jet arrival in BOM was
09:05, IC departure was 09:25. Disembarking from Jet, baggage (they picked up my bag and were
waiting for me at arrival lounge), travel from Jet terminal to IC terminal (they are far apart in
Bombay, they had a mini van standing by just for me), baggage (special handling), checkin (counter
was opened for me), security (bypassed some 50 people waiting in a line), boarding IC (taken care by
duty manager at IC terminal) - from disembarking to boarding - all done in 20 minutes. Jet had made
an oral promise that they would put me on one of their own BOM-BLR flights if I missed this one, and
at their expense. Everyone has problems, but I've seen Jet handling them well. For that, I could say that Jet sets
the standards for Indian domestic aviation.

I have now had the privilege to fly Jet Airways on several inland flights during two trips to India
in the past year. This has to be one of the best airlines in the world. I am amazed at their superb
service they provide during the flights. Flight attendants impeccable so helpful, friendly and
attractive!. Excellent food is served even on a 1 hour flight which puts other major airlines to
shame. They have an excellent inflight magazine so thick it will take a week to read. All flights
have always departed on time. And now there are expanding to fly International routes. I look

Perhaps Jet Airways are becoming a victim of their own success....or is it perhaps a case of this
carrier having become complacent in view of their recent IPO having been oversubscribed so
dramatically? In any case, there are niggles creeping in that were not there before. Last Sunday, I
checked in for the 4 pm BLR-DEL, and requested a window or aisle seat. With sequence number 69, I
was told that only centre seats were available. When I pointed out that my seat preference was
stored in my Jet Privilege FF program profile (I am a Platinum Member), I was told that this profile
was never accessed for booking purposes (so what is it for?).
Moreover, I recently turned up at 6 a.m. for the 7 a.m. BLR-BOM flight and when checking in was told
that the flight would leave around 8.45 a.m. When I pointed out that my FF program level should
offer me delay notification by SMS (which I have received on earlier occasions), I was informed that
this would only be provided in the event of fog-related delays (do I, as a passenger, care what is
causing a delay of 1 3/4 hours?).

DEL-HYD-GOA and back to
BOM. This is one of the best airlines I have flown. All flights left on time with professional service from the friendly
crew. Staff on board worked non-stop during the flight to ensure pax felt well taken care

Economy Class from Mumbai to Goa and return on same day. Aircraft were spotless
although a little cramped. Both flights were on time, cabin staff smiling, friendly, helpful.
A pre-take off Lime Juice on both flights and an extra bottle
of water with the meal service. To Goa, a 60 min flight we got a full hot breakfast (choice of veg
or non-veg) with fruit salad and croissant. No tea/coffee service but by the time everyone was
finished we were landing anyway. 45 min return flight we received a "snack" (again, choice of veg or
non-veg) which was equal to other airlines full meals. They have an
inflight magazine worth reading too!

Just returned from a trip to India. Flew Jet Airways from Bangalore to Mumbai. Good in-flight
service, excellent food, neat aircraft. The only thing missing is professionalism in the ground

In September I flew with Jet Airways from Chennai to Bangalore and back to
Chennai. I reserved the flights before I travelled to India, and chose Jet Airways over Indian
Airlines and Sahara, because they seemed to have the newest aircraft. I wasn't disappointed. It was a very good service in the same standard we
see in Europe. The flight was only 30 minutes, so it was limited what kind of service the flight
attendants had time for. But they managed to serve a sandwich and something to drink. However it is
special to get a sandwich with nothing else than cucumber in it and butter milk.

I fly Jet Airways five to six times a month and have undoubtedly they provide a standard of service
(including punctuality) that puts most European (and most certainly all American) domestic carriers
to shame. Punctuality, catering, cabin crew etc are all excellent. Occasionally, as on 9W801 from
Delhi to Bangalore on 04/10/04, the overall impression is marred by substandard ground services,
some of which are arguably not of Jet Airways' own doing. At 5.30 a.m., the queues for security
control at Delhi were simply beyond common sense - the line of passengers waiting to pass security
checks cutting right across the path of passengers arriving at the terminal for check-in. Boarding
was again totally disorganized - despite there being ront and aft stairways provided, passengers
were allowed to board indiscriminately, with the predictable result that the cabin turned into a zoo
with pax in the last rows entering from the front and obstructing those who were making their way
from the aft door to the rear section of the aircraft. For whatever reason, the usual restrictions
on carry-on baggage did not seem to apply to this flight either, with overhead bins above empty seat
rows already overflowing with excess hand baggage half-way through boarding.

I often fly Delhi-Chennai on Jet Airways, always in economy class and I would rate that experience

worse than intra-Europe business class. Food is delicious and varied. Hostesses are
friendly,
immaculately groomed, and very pretty (doesn't hurt any). My flights have always arrived and left on
time. During evening flights the hostesses even come and bring us pillows and blankets (remember I
am talking about economy class!). All in all a wonderful experience. Mind you, my
experience with
other domestic Indian carriers has always ranged from excellent (Air Sahara) to good (even for the
much maligned Indian Airlines).

I find the business class pitch on Jet Airways 737 NG's to be very tight, though the recline is
decent. Pitch is not more than 40". They are not too comfortable, and very poor in comparison to Air
Sahara or even Indian Airlines.

Jet Airways on the CCU - BOM run in J class. My flight from DAC to CCU on Bangladesh Biman was
over 2 1/2 hours late and me and two of my colleagues ended up arriving at the Jet Airways counter
10 minutes before the 6PM flight. Initially, the counter representative told us to take the late
evening flight as check - in was closed. . However, we were able to persuade them to put us on the
scheduled flight. The Boeing 737-800 was clean and comfortable. The J class seats are
more then adequate for the 2.5 hr flight. It compares to that of many international carriers. The
food was simply superb and served with great care.

Standards are still very high. Recently flew them from Delhi to Bangalore, continuing to Mumbai on
and J and Y class. Check in by well groomed and professional female ground staff. Lounge facilities
are poor. Jet uses the restaurants facilities provided by the Sheraton in Delhi, Ashok group in
Bangalore for business/gold card passengers. On board service is really warm and even though female
staff are in western attire, their service and attitude is 100% Indian. Food quantities continue to
deteriorate, though the taste remains delicious. Aircrafts are ageing, possibly overworked, but are
non the less state of the art. Ground handling is swift and efficient.

Y class from Calcutta-Bombay. Besides the excellent hot meal, on-time
departure, etc, when was the last time you had each passenger in Y class being greeted and
addressed by their name.

Jet Airways is certainly India's best domestic airline. But of late, the service standards have
fallen a notch - but then with competition like Indian Airlines making a choice non-existent for
frequent travellers looking for an extensive network, why work as hard? However, the aircraft leave
bang on time - except in bad weather, which is understandable. And the Club Premiere service is
truly exceptional. Seating in Economy class is very cramped, but with the longest flight just over
2.5 hours, worth the hassle. Overall, an airline with a great product, which was even better not too
long ago.

The best thing that ever happened to Indian aviation
-Jet Airways. The cabin service matches or even
surpasses that of many European carriers. The aircraft
are neat and new and the ground and cabin staff are
extremely efficient and friendly. The female cabin
staff in particular, are the prettiest I've seen
anywhere and that makes the flights even more
enjoyable. The food is also excellent with fresh hot
meals even in one hour flights. Jet Airways must be
given four star status and be allowed to fly foreign
routes.

Flew Jet Airways for over five years now. I am quite disappointed that their service has degraded.
The crew in Y class smile less and the courtesy that was once a 'part of their uniform' is now gone.
I really loved Jet Airways and will continue to do so only if they regain their former status.

I fly Jet Airways whenever possible on domestic flights in India. Cabins are always spotless,
service is great, food is good (excellent for a domestic short haul carrier), helpful ground staff,
good reading material on board, not to mention an average fleet age of around 3 yrs.
Jet Airways is better than most international carriers I have flown and I wont even compare it with
domestic carriers.

Jet Airways stands out as the best airline I have flown
- reminiscent of earlier SQ days. Spotless new aircraft, 4 magazines to read
i8n Y class,
smiling helpful flight attendants, excellent food - multi-course meal on a 2 hour domestic
flight .

An excellent airline for the price. Many foreigners think that serving full meals is a big thing for short haul flights (1-3 hrs),
but all Indian airlines do that including Sahara and Indian Airlines. In fact the
food too will be pretty much excellent (so long as its hot!) because most use the same caterer
(Oberoi/Taj etc). I think Jet Airways should be 4 Star and not a 3 Star airline.

My husband and I travel to India at least once a year and have always used Jet Airways to
connect in India. We just returned home from a trip that was a total disaster thanks to Jet Airways.
We were to leave Hyderabad for Mumbai to connect onto our international flight on
Jan 16th. The
flights were all delayed by at least 2.5 hrs but were reassured we would make our international
flights by the "supervisor", called over to talk to us by the attendant. He told us he would
put us in the back, (row 25) so we could get off the plane right away and our luggage
would be
first off and ready for our next flight. Well, it doesn't matter if we are last or where we are, because we had to wait for all the people on
the plane to deplane and then the shuttle leaves. He reassured us he would put a priority
sticker on our luggage (which he did) but it didn't make any difference because nobody looks at
that! He told us we would have to buy our own taxi when we get to the domestic airport to
reach the
international airport in time. Well, we did hire a taxi which drove so fast I thought we would get
killed by his driving. We arrived at the airport at 12:50, but check in was
closed at Northwest Airlines and they wouldn't take
us on the flight. We contacted Jet Airways who would not take any blame at all.
Finally after one hour, we were given a Mr Englebert to talk to at the domestic airport
- who told us we should go back to the domestic airport. He hung up the phone on us. It was Northwest Airlines who finally helped us by taking us to the domestic airport at their cost.
When we talked to Mr Englebert, he was so nasty to us, like it was our fault we were stranded.
He said, "My manager said he told you you would miss your connecting
flights"' which was a lie.
When we told him it was a lie he got mad and said to us, "of course you will say that". This man was
so nasty to us. Finally after we all got angry with him, he offered to put us in a hotel. At 5:00am
we and another
passenger were finally in a hotel. The other 4 passengers who were stranded were flown back to
Hyderabad, but not until after he told them they would have to pay for their own flight back to
Mumbai. In the past, we told many people about Jew Airways because we liked the
service - now we will not travel by Jet Airways again. The customer service is so bad.

Flew Jet Airways economy from Mumbai to Ahmedabad last week. Their flight attendants were friendly &
helpful. They assisted one of the older ladies with her cabin luggage etc. very well. Fairly
generous serve of hot breakfast. Can't really think of any negatives, apart from may be limited
choice of entertainment. Much better than domestic Qantas flights back home in Oz.
