BLI to SEA and very impressed with the ground staff, inflight crew and very helpful gate agent on arrival at SEA who gave me her full attention and assistance in getting from one end of the terminal to the other in order to make my connection! Definitely will fly with Horizon more often!

GEG-SEA-FSN: Flew on the regional jet both to and from Fresno but can tell that they have crammed more seats in the jet than the last time I flew it about five years ago. Seats were really tight. Service was fine; flight late taking off from Fresno but still made connections with Alaska. Horizon has always offered good service. Normally I fly from PUW to SEA and find the service out of Pullman to be excellent.

YVR-PDX-YVR. Both sectors operated by new Q400 which is as quiet as a jet. Crew very friendly and service very informal but nice to be offered beer or wine and snacks on a short flight. I have always found QX staff to very personable, efficient and like their laid-back friendly service. Will fly with them again!

A subsidiary of Alaska Airlines. I've flown them many times into Billings, MT from both Seattle and Portland, OR. I had one bad experience where the early morning flight I was on was canceled because of crew problems. I was not able to get out until late that night on a flight that was 2 hours late. I received a $10.00 meal ticket and that was about it. All other times the flights have been good. On the last one in October, 2007, beer and wine from Oregon was complimentary and the flight staff were friendly, informative and entertaining. I will continue to use them.

YVR-PDX. Check in a breeze and a small aircraft (think it was a 28 seater). Got a drink and a few snacks as well. Crew on board were fantastic and a great flight. Seats were comfy.

LAX-RNO return. Both flights on time. The plane was comfortable for a small 70 seater, I found the seats comfortable though it was a surprise to only be served these rice crisps (I think we are spoilt on Australian domestic flights). FAs were attentive and friendly, would fly again. Manage to arrive in Reno safely except my luggage, bit of a problem when you are on the other side of the world, the Horizon ground staff could not have been more helpful, bag was delivered to our accommodation as soon as it arrived with the next flight.

RNO-LAX roundtrip. This was our first time flying Horizon and it turned out to be very good. On time flights both ways. Friendly FA's with a good sense of humor. Basic drinks and snacks offered several times on the 70 minute flight. Even free beer and wine on the trip back. What a nice thing to see in this day and age. For a propeller plane there was very little noise. True, the seats don't recline but for the short flight it's really not an issue. The seats were comfortable. The only issue/concern I encountered was with the security check at LAX. This had nothing to do with Horizon but rather the security at LAX. I had my partners boarding pass by mistake so when I showed my boarding pass and ID, which obviously didn't match, she just waved me through the check point. When I realized what had just happened I went back and let her know that she just allowed me to enter the passenger area with ID that did not match the boarding pass. She just put her hand over her mouth, said "Oh" and giggled. That sure showed me how lax our so called trusted security system is at airports.

I wish I had taken the time to read the above comments before I booked my last flight. We decided to surprise our children and grand-children for Christmas, and arranged our arrival in Moscow, ID for Christmas Eve. Rather than start with Northwest, United, or American and generally end up in Spokane with a two hour drive, we decided to start with the airline that served Pullman, WA (Horizon) and work backwards. We worked out an ideal schedule from New York and back, which was almost flawless on the trip out. Alaska Airlines/Horizon ticketed the entire itinerary and received the $1500.00. But when we received the itinerary we noticed that going to Washington, we flew American Eagle, and American to Seattle and Horizon only from Seattle to Pullman. We had all the necessary details except seat assignments on the return flight from Chicago to White Plains, NY. On the internet, all the information I could get from Horizon was to get my seat assignments from American. American was exceptionally helpful and especially their Special Assistance people whom we had contacted on another matter. They gave us seat assignments for the return flight from Chicago. Our trip out went off without a hitch, and the kids were completely surprised. Twenty-four hours before our return on 31 December 2006, I printed out our boarding passes for the trip. Everything looked OK except there was no seat assigment for my wife on the link from Chicago to White Plains. Again, I couldn't get a resolution from Horizon so I called American and they gave us seat assigment. When we arrived at Pullman, WA airport at 0530 their flight had been cancelled because of heavy fog. The ticket agents were reasonably pleasant for that time of morning, but they were explicit in stating our alternatives. Wait for a later flight, hoping the fog would clear and shift our schedule to involve overnight flights, or hire ground transportation to Spokane, fly to Seattle, and pick up our same itinerary a day later. We chose the latter, and they cancelled our existing itinerary. All went well. We spent New Year's eve in Seattle instead of New York, and had a nice flight from Seattle to Chicago. As others have commented, the seats were rather narrow, but comfortable for us and we appreciated the leather vs. fiber. However, the agent in Seattle when we checked in, Tara, did not confirm seat assignments on our flight from Chicago, and told us we would have to check in at the gate. Also we learned today, that she had not checked our bags through to our destination, White Plains. New Year's Day in the Chicago Airport is not one we want to repeat. We were put on stand by for our originally scheduled flight, and standby on a flight an hour later, both of which were over loaded, so American finally got us to Newark, NJ and we drove home. However, our baggage was still in Alaska Airlines custody in Chicago. American helped us trace the location of the baggage, but said we had to go to Alaska to get it released and shipped to White Plains, but when we called Alaska, they said we had to file our claim with American, because they were the last ones to give us a flight. I would argue that for frequent flyers, one should not only check schedules, on time reliability, etc. but try try to avoid partnerships where each party can point the finger in the other direction and the customer ends up frustrated, disappointed, and perhaps another lost baggage statistic.

LAX-MFR, then LMT-PDX. Both flights arrived early. Snacks minimal, but at least they've got free wine and beer and the flight attendants are actually nice and professional. Seats are small and don't recline, but OK for 1-2 hours. Baggage seems to take a while in Medford. The LAX-MFR non-stop is a welcome alternative to having to take United.

LAX-RDD, then back RDD-LAX via Arcata. Overall, the crew was alright - definitely not anything extraordinary but tolerable. Food service was minimal, crackers with a free drink. Alcoholic beverages were extra. The seats, however, were not acceptable even for a 1hr 45min flight it was. They didn't even recline. I've been on 50 min flights that had seats that reclined. I think even Southwest has reclining seats! The Bombardier 70-seater plane was old, needed new seats (as mentioned above), better bathrooms.

My wife and I fly business a lot , esp. my wife. We often have meetings to attend etc. and leave time for minor delays. Here lately, Horizon has had great difficulty being on time. Connecting flights get put back and hours later you are still wondering if u will be on stand-by or sleeping in the waiting area. We are considering using another carrier. Enough is enough. Crew and pilots are great. Service is minimal. However, they seem to have a snowball effect in their scheduling. One delay screws up many, many flights, etc. and there is little if no back up. Thank you for the opportunity to express my views and experiences with this carrier. I guess that's where the consumer pays the price. We need them more than they need us?

Seattle, WA - Edmonton, AB. The flight was on the Bombardier Dash 8-Q400, a small aircraft but less noisy than other propeller regional aircraft. The boarding staff at Seattle were terrible. The flight was scheduled to leave at 2:30, then delayed to 3:38, then we were told 5:00, 10 minutes later we were told that the plane was OK and we were boarding at 3:50. Nothing happened for 20 minutes, 30 minutes, finally we boarded at 4:30. People were standing waiting to board for about 30 minutes with no explanation. Horrendous communication skills and no room for passengers to sit near gate 2 where regional planes depart to Edmonton, Calgary, Kalispell, Yakima, etc. People were complaining that this is normal for Horizon Airlines and it happened to them previously. The flight was OK, the crew was great and the captain even apologised for the hassle in Seattle. Unfortunately, it should have been a Horizon manager at the airport doing the apologising. With this flight and comments from other passengers, i would not fly with Horizon Airlines again.

Spokane, WA to Seattle, WA - Small, older plane (Q400), but super nice crew and complementary Northwest beer and wine. Delayed a bit due to fog in Seattle. Crew had a sense of humor, which is always nice.

Horizon Dash 8-200 YVR-SEA. Short flight but the FA was nice and friendly for a late night flight. Complementary wine as well. Made the bumpy flight enjoyable. Well fly with them again.

SAC-PSP. Not a long flight but a pleasant experience with a professional and smiling crew. A small but sufficient snack and drinks served and landmarks pointed out on the way. And all for a lot less than equivalent European flights.

I have flown Horizon Air more times then I can remember which have been mainly short commuter flights for business purposes. I have found that typically the flight attendants are friendly and cheerful, although the planes have been less the clean at times. All in all I enjoy flying with Horizon and would not hesitate to use them in the future.

I love Horizon! I was one a Horizon flight last year where we had a short stop. The Captain himself went into the terminal and came back with 2 bags of ice for the flight attendants. What teamwork! I was impressed. This same flight crew sat around joking and talking with the waiting passengers in the SEA terminal before we boarded.

Seattle,WA -Butte, MT. I have flown on Horizon many times and each time I am impressed with the quality of their cabin crew. The flight was uneventful but the quality of service reminds me why I try to choose Horizon Air whenever I can.
