Flight to Hong Kong (Flight 1.50pm) from Haikou was cancelled without prior notice. I only knew it when I
was at the airport. Staff told my family that we have to travel to Sanya Int'l Airport to catch the flight. It was
another 1.5 hours to Sanya by express train. When we arrived at Sanya Int'l Airport, we were informed that
the flight was delayed again to 6.25pm. Later, airport staff told us that the next flight will be at 10.25pm.
Airport staff arranged for us to have dinner and rest at a nearby hotel. However, when we returned to the
airport at 8.30pm, we were informed that the flight was again delayed to 11.35pm and finally, 00.35am the
next morning. When we finally boarded the flight landed at 2.15am the next morning. We waited for nearly
3.5 hours to get our baggage. Airline staff told us there were not enough manpower to unload the baggage
from the plane!

HKG-OKA-HKG, was a Hong Kong Express flight, served by HKA A330 aircraft and crew. Flight delayed more
than 2 hours to OKA and delayed 1 hour on return trip. Hot meal to OKA and only snack on the return trip,
overall just average. Was really surprised that there was only water on OKA-HKG flight, not even soft drinks!
Crew members were not too welcoming but service quality was overall OK. Fares was comparable with KA,
would prefer taking KA.

HKG-SHA - delayed 30 minutes. Silver Class in economy seats get to board with Business Class line but on
the return flight PVG-HKG - this was not allowed. SHA-PEK flight on HU plane, a crew member acknowledged
the Silver Class member sitting in economy and offered a Bottle of water plus a greeting of 'thank you'. Food
on HKG-SHA or PVG is quite good with dessert and salad. Crew worked hard for the limited serving time. I
was missed serving of both drinks and food, I had to tap on her shoulder to call her back. For HKG-SGP route,
they cancelled the SGP-HKG return flight without notification - more improvement needed here.

HKG-Guilin-HKG. Both flights on B737-800. Online check-in did not work but smooth at airport, although seat
on boarding pass was different to the one chosen at the machine. Baggage drop quick and easy. Flight out on
time. Friendly welcome. Water, Coffee and Tea served plus two Chinese crackers. Crew professional. On the
return, flight was delayed. Same choice of drinks but warm sandwich given. Crew looked tired and did their
job.

Harbin to Hong Kong. Flight was on-time and arrived early at Hong Kong. Crew members seemed to be a bit
tired. Dinner was great, hot tea and coffee was given out. Aircraft parked at a gate at Harbin but at a far
apron at Hong Kong. This airline is fine for regional services.

HKG-KIX. There was surprisingly nobody at the check-in counters even though there were 10 flights between 11AM and
1PM. Departure delayed by 20 minutes due to late boarding of 4 passengers. Plane was half full. Service efficient
and professional. Return departure was 15 minutes ahead of scheduled time. Plane was 60% full. Service again was
efficient and professional. Unfortunately the early arrival was off set by the delay of baggage arrival. There
was announcement informing passengers that the second batch of baggage would be delayed but no reason given.

HKG to RMQ, B737-800. Flight was delayed 1 hr due to technical problems, crew gave out cookies and water.
Food was lovely and the service was great. RMQ to HKG, B737-800. The food was still fish and rice but it was
tasty. Crew was efficient and attentive. A pleasant flight.

Bali to HK Economy. Tried to upgrade but could not. Nothing open at airport, no air con. Actual flight was ok, not
much cheaper than CX. Better than diabolical outward (read below review).

HKG-Bali. Flight delayed and eventually cancelled - we could not go home as no info given, flight rescheduled for
next morning although no food and drink voucher given. Police called as people reacted angrily to terrible
management from crew. Actual flight was fine when took off 1 hr late. Business class good, cheap to upgrade.
Arrived 16 hrs late in Bali. Not looking forward to return!

Took Hong Kong Express to HKG from Shanghai and the onboard service was fine, however they
only have beer and not any liquor. The big issue is that the flight is nearly always delayed.
We sat at the gate, door closed for 2 hours on my outboard flight and for 45 minutes on my
inbound flight. I checked historical flight stats and it seems that delays are the rule with
that airline. It wouldn't be a big deal for vacationers, but a 2 hour delay for me with only a
2 hour flight time - that wastes a big part of the day (I only go for 1-2 days at a time.) So,
if you want to save money and can afford some delays, Hong Kong Express is not a bad ride.
Nice people, they take security seriously (they gave me a 5 minute talk about how the exit row
works) and good onboard food. I would fly them again, but only if my cost were my major
factor. The delay trend is terrible though.

HKG-PEK-HKG. Bus to aircraft in HKG but airbridge at PEK. Once onboard, a good experience.
Comfortable enough seats - maroon, fabric - quite nice looking interior. Crew attentive pre
departure with blankets, headsets etc (no charge). Once airborne, a hot meal and complimentary
bar service provided (beer, wine). Inflight entertainment basic (game shows on overhead
monitors). Return flight bang on time with similar inflight experience, although aircraft was
in Hong Kong Airlines livery and with different interior (leather seats) - perhaps marginally
less comfortable. Crew in both directions efficient, sufficiently friendly and certainly
worked very hard.

Reference to Mr Howard Chan's comment, very surprised to read that he took an E170! Hong Kong
Express only has and only flies B737-800.

Hong Kong - Denpasar return. The flight out of HKG was delayed about 20 min and they bussed
passengers to a remote boarding location rather than using a jetway. The flight was fairly
full. As a rather tall Western man, I'd have enjoyed another inch of pitch or an exit row
seat. FAs attentive, starting drinks and meal service shortly after takeoff. Throughout the
flight, they made frequent rounds with drinks. B737 was clean, no personal IFE, though. The
flight back was extremely uncomfortable because the temperature in the front of the economy
section was too hot. When I went to the lavatory, I noticed that the rear of the cabin was
much cooler. Not sure what was up with that. The verdict: not a bad regional airline, good
crew, potential to be improved in a few areas, but fine for a short flight if the fare is
right. I'd give them another try.

HongKong-Xiamen-Hong Kong on time for both flights. Good service from FAs for such a short
flight (only an hour), with meals served in a bit rush. The only comment is they always use
the remote aprons in Hong Kong Airport and wasted time in transferring by bus to the plane.

BKK-HKG return. Although the television was not in use during the flight from Bangkok to Hong Kong,
the flight attendants are very polite. The food is delicious. New 737-800 aircraft and the cabin very
clean. Highly recommended.

First time on this new airline to Chengdu from HK. Embraer used on this
flight was quite new with decent legroom. Flight departed on time. Hot
meal was served and taste average. The flight attendents were
professional, and courteous. The multi-lingual flight attendent used on
this flight was a nice touch. I would recommend this airline to
passengers who travel from HK to mainland China.

I flown both of their Emb170 (HKG-HGH-HKG) and B737-800 (HKG-NGB), Very Comfortable aircraft.
Inflight service - "Simply the best", 2hrs flight, hot meal was served and their
cabin crew are friendly and cheerful as well. As I remember on my last year trip to HGH, the
Flight purser could even speak 4 languages to serve their passengers from China and Europe. I was impressed.

HKG-CNX rtn with the family. Very impressed although the ticket for my
20mth old seemed a bit expensive with adult fare being charged until I
queried it later. Leather seats and pitch comfy, the little Embraer even
managed to load my mountain bike. Special meals no problem. All staff
pleasant and helpful. Flight was delayed ex HKG due to an aircraft
computer glitch, but at least the Captain had our safety as a priority!
A five star airline.

Very new EMB170 plane. Plane was 2/3 full for both legs and only snacks
were served (7:30AM and 8:35PM flight). Bus gate in both airports
One purser and one air stewardess on board. since the flying time is
about two hours, one person is sufficient enough to serve all the
passengers on board.
