Bad experience - abruptly moved their Bangkok-Chittagong flight forward, then back 10 hrs then cancelled it
altogether. Then had a terrible experience with them at Dhaka airport: flight delayed, boarded, took off but 3/4 of
the way to Chittagong we turned around. Eventually made it to Chittagong 9 hrs after the scheduled flight. Very
little information offered on the ground, although they did offer a free meal at the airport. Return trip from
Chittagong to Dhaka went without a hitch.

JED-DAC. Slow check-in. Boarding was on time but had to sit on the flight for next 3 hr. without any explanation.
Inflight entertainment was poor, food was standard. You have to search for the cabin crew during the flight. GMG
have a lot to improve with customer service and inflight entertainment system.

Ground Service are so helpful, my DAC-CGP flight was delay for 25 mins, as I know that, Ground Service had
nothing to do with it, but they were talking to us and they were apologizing for that. Also when we finally got to
board the aircraft, the person who was working in the ramp gave a nice smile. Inside the craft during the fly time,
candies, biscuits, juice, cake, water provided. Overall, except the delay time, I had a nice experience with the GMG
Airlines.

Z5 Comfort Class DAC-CGP. Flight delayed by 20 minutes but offered no explanation and no
announcements although there were plenty of staff around. However, on board things were much
better. The pilot apologised for the delay due to refuelling which was a nice gesture as most
Bangladeshi carriers never do this. Although this is a 40 minute flight, pax are served
candies, savouries and biscuits from trays (and you can help yourself to as many as you like!)
and water/fruit juice. Overall a good experience, but nothing special that separates it from
its competitors such as United Airways (Bd) and Royal Bengal. Ground services could be
improved.

31 December 2008 Customer Trip Rating :
Since June 2008 there has been over capacity in Bangladesh domestic airlines caused by new private
operators entering the domestic market in the light of GMG's plans to become more international.
This means that there are now four airlines offering the same limited numbers of routes, leading to
at least 50% cancellations of all domestic flights due to lack of passengers. They will honour each
others bookings, so usually you can get transfered onto the next available flight but not always.
GMG used to be good but now suffers from too many cancellations. Do bear this in mind when flying
on domestic flights in Bangladesh, esp if you are on business and therefore have to get to places
for certain times. If in doubt, go by train or car or bus (some of the bus companies are excellent
with sleeper seats). I recently booked GMG to Chittagong but it was cancelled and I had to wait and
go on Best Air instead. The return, which was booked on United from Coxs Bazar, was also cancelled
and since there is only one flight a day, I had to travel back to Dhaka by overnight bus instead

What a disaster! Most of their planes are grounded as not airworthy, most flights out of Kathmandu
are cancelled - do not book with this airline! Unreliable. Did see one plane leave from Dakka to
Kuala Lumpur however, so at least one is still working.

My own experience of this airline was not so good. I had late flights
and one cancelled just before we started moving when the pilots window
shattered. I found Biman to be better.

GMG has just acquired two MD-82 jets and is now flying international
routes from Dhaka to Kathmandu, Bangkok and Delhi. I flew Business Class
return to Kathmandu on 24/10 and 26/10. Seating is 2+2 with leather
seats and you get a pre-meal drink, hot meal and coffee on this one hour
flight. Flight was 30 mins delayed leaving, on time for return. Service
was very attentive and, on return to Dhaka, Business Class passengers
are bussed first to the terminal. As a welcome alternative to Biman with
all its problems, this small and professional airline deserves to do
well.

This private enterprise provides execellent value for money. Bought
the ticket for the flight from Dhaka to Jessore and back from the airlines office in Dhaka. Airline
repeatedly called me the next two days for letting me know of slight changes in schedules due to
sudden permission and operation of a daily flight to Kolkata. Check-in was professional. Would have
been better had the passengers known how to queue. May be the airline can hire more staff to bully
unruly passengers into queuing! Flight was 30 minutes each way on a Canadian Dash aircraft. Small
aircraft did have a congested and worn out feeling but it was only for 30 minutes. Sole female
flight attendant distributed a selection of biscuits, cakes, chocolates, mango juice or yoghurt for
snacks followed by bottled water. It was time to land before you realized. Much better than Biman.

If you are tired of the unprofessional service of Biman, you must try GMG Airlines. The airline is
small -- 3 Dash 8s in the fleet -- but run very professionally. Currently flying only domestically
in Bangladesh, the airline has just received rights to fly to Kolkata (Calcuta) in India from
Chittagong and Kathmandu from Dhaka. I flew the airline for a day trip to Chittagong from Dhaka.
While Biman ticket desk was unable to help me get a ticket at Dhaka airport ("We can sell you a
ticket, but we don't exactly know the schedules -- they change often and our PC and telephone are
out of order"!), GMG ticket agent was courteous, gave me the schedule and informed me of the payment
options (cash or credit card). The check-in was a breeze -- and the wait at the lounge at the
domestic terminal was fine. Since I was flying back on the same day, I was given a return boarding
pass and was told I could show up only 15 minutes before my return trip GMG serves hot beverages
to its customers, and provides newspapers at the lounge. Ok, this is not the world class lounge of
Singapore Airlines, but compared to Biman, this was majestic. The flight to Chittagong was
pleasant. The aircraft was clean and well kept. There is a snack service, and it again newspapers
were provided to passengers. The flight left on time. The return flight was efficient as well, and
the check-in at the new Chittagong airport was impressive. The ground crew was courteous and
knowledgable. Overall, I was very impressed with the way GMG operates.
