Just arrived back from Orlando - plane was freezing had to buy a blanket if required. Ear
phone socket didn't work, my table was broken on one side and dirty. The meal was not too bad
as airline food goes - had to buy all your own drinks, tea etc. Poor baggage allowance
compared to other airlines.

Returning to Edinburgh from Malaga on 15th August , at check in party of four one senior, 2
adults and one child and child was not sitting anywhere near party travelling. Spoke to
Spanish chap who checked us in and he was not interested. Obviously an adult changed seats,
however flight crew told us to take allocated seats.

Malaga to Edinburgh - We had prebooked seats and due to the fact that the check in staff took
nearly two hours to process the queue we hadn't time to really look to see what seats we had
been given, assuming that they were the correct ones. When we got to the boarding gate we were
amazed the seats we had booked were not the ones on our tickets. We had booked aisle seats
and had been given a window and middle seat in the very last row. When we complained in
writing (as they said we had to do) we had a return letter saying that those seats were the
same quality as those we had booked - not to us they weren't. They of course referred us to
their terms and conditions which gives them the power to do anything they want. So don't even
bother to pre-book your seats because they can put you in whichever seats they like. Didn't
even offer a refund of our seat booking fee! Never use them again - totally money orientated -
customer care zero.

Edinburgh to Las Palmas. On the outbound leg we were charged £50 each for overweight baggage.
This is after they weighed both our hand and hold luggage- so if you are travelling with
FlyGlobespan short-haul ensure that your hand and hold luggage total weight does not exceed
20kg. Then the check-in agent told us to go to their booking desk and when we attempted to pay
by cash we were told that we would have to pay a £10 handling fee! I think that this is a bit
of a cheap trick - as they never told us while booking that our allowance included our hand
luggage. Judging by the steady stream of passengers walking to and from the FlyGlobespan
check-in desks to their booking desks and handing over money it appeared that we were not the
only ones charged for overweight baggage. Then we had to pay another £48 to check our baggage
into the hold! Once again, flying with FlyGlobespan hits you in the wallet. So before we had
even arrived at our destination, we had already spent £108 on fees. At least the staff at
Edinburgh were helpful and polite enough. We departed Edinburgh about 20 minutes late due to
missing passengers. Onboard, the cabin crew were polite and friendly, but the price of
refreshments was steep. Returning from Las Palmas, we arrived at the airport about 3 hours
before departure- and the check-in desks were not even open. It took them another 50 minutes
to open them, while there was a full flight carrying pensioners and families waiting in the
heat. Oh, and guess what- we had to pay another £48 to check our luggage into the hold.
Onboard the flight the cabin crew were once again pleasant and helpful and we departed 15
minutes late due to the planes late arrival. Overall, i would not recommend FlyGlobespan-
their additional fees are extortionate - we spent almost £150 on extra fees alone and their
fares are not exactly cheap anyway. However, looking at other reviews of FlyGlobespan on here-
this review is probably one of the better ones.

Have just flown home from Sanford to Belfast - delayed 4 hours due to a technical problem!?! -
week before delay was 6 hours! We were not offered any food or drink to compensate for the 4
hour delay! Still charging for blankets etc. Very disappointing! We paid extra for a local
departure but with delay we might as well have gone via mainland Britain!

Flight out was fine. Coming back we were delayed at Dalaman airport for 9 hours and only given
a KFC meal, which we weren't allowed until 3 hours after we were due to depart even though
they had informed us of the much more extended delay as the rules state that you get a meal if
you are delayed more than 3 hours. We were allowed this food at 9.30 at night, well after our
children needed to eat with one small drink in all that time. The airline never explained the
delay, only said the plane from the UK was delayed (we never guessed that!). There was no
representative and they still wanted £5.00 for blankets on the plane when we hadn't even
realised we would be on a night time flight with children! Absolutely rubbish. Don't go near
them.

Booked flights from Glasgow (Wednesday to Wednesday) then told they dont fly to Orlando on a
Wednesday any more - this was after they have our cash. Then they change the times of out
flight from AM to PM - and when we got to airport informed that flight was delayed. Arrived at
Sanford with a days villa rental lost. On the return arrived at Sanford to book in, to be
informed that flight was 7 hours late (the plane was still in Belfast). We eventually boarded
at 0100 for a flight that was due to leave at 1750 the previous day. Shortly into the flight
there was a call sent out for any medical people to make their self known to staff. If it is
avoidable, I certainly will never fly with this outfit again.

I foolishly booked Glasgow to Halifax for two of my friends to go to a blind golf tournament -
depart 8th August 1030, 1300 (local) arrival. The flight left Glasgow 0030 9th August to
Hamilton for a crew change - and arrived 0820 Halifax, 19 hours late. Never consider using
this so called airline ever.

I recently returned from a holiday in Majorca where my return flight turned out to be nothing
but a fiasco, which resulted in our flight being over 4 hours late and landing in Glasgow as
opposed to Edinburgh where we were meant to return. This was explained as “due to technical
difficulties”. This I can reluctantly accept but the seating was a total fiasco. From the
outset we were refused the seats that we had booked (2E & 2F) and paid for to the sum of £30
plus card fee and each of us were initially placed in different rows. This was eventually
changed and we managed to get seated together. At one point we were even told by your staff
that it had been changed and was to be a “free for all” Easyjet style grab the first seat you
can find. However, we were told that the front 3 rows were not available to anyone as in the
replacement aeroplane these were actually business class seats and no one was going to be
allowed to sit there and the area was cordoned of to prevent any one doing so. There was no
technical reason that prevented us occupying these seats and as a result we got the same turn
up at the desk and hope for the best service all the other passengers who had not pre-booked
seats received. Keep your money and don’t pay for any additional services.

Glasgow to Calgary, return from Vancouver to Glasgow. Crew were efficient and courteous and
we had a comfortable flight. The inflight meal was acceptable. On the return journey - 12
hours long due to calling in at Calgary and Manchester, crew were excellent.

Tenerife-Glasgow 18th July. Witnessed an incredible exercise in customer relations. Flight was
delayed for about an hour and a half although no-one told us this officially. Queue was the
slowest moving I have ever seen, for the simple reason that all hand baggage was being weighed
along with hold luggage and people were charged accordingly. An extra queue was formed for
this purpose. As this became evident, stress levels rose along the queue. People were
obviously distressed as they were heavily charged. I would have no problem with this practice
if I could see the point; our bags were not weighed again when we went on to the plane having
shopped in Duty Free so the alleged concern with weight does not seem to hold water. I can
only surmise that this was an opportunity to make more money, and the delay caused by a
technical problem with the Edinburgh flight allowed more time to do this. What really annoys
me is the inconsistency: there was no such weigh-in of hold luggage on the outward flight.

Sharm to Edinburgh flight delayed 1 hour, then abandoned after 20mins in the air due to engine
trouble. All passengers sent to same hotel, absolute chaos. Meeting at 0900 the next day, no
rep arrived until 1100. Told we had to check out at 1200. Onward to other hotels etc. Hung
around hotel lobby for hours no communications or information. Booked into other hotel,
meeting at 2200, rep did not arrive until 2300, told we would fly possibly next day. Went to
bed, phone call at 12-45 told to pack up we would be checking out at 1.00 and flight was now
2.15am. Got to airport flight delayed until 0430. Flight eventually took off at 0700. Absolute
nightmare - do not use this airline

Dublin to Calgary then onward to Vancouver. Flight was delayed for over an hour at Dublin.
Service very poor on board, meal of very poor quality. Entertainment was poor, no screen on
back of seat. Aircraft, although clean, was very dated. Paid extra for a window seat which
turned out to be a blank wall. Return flight not much better flight - delayed taking off and
again in Calgary. Cabin crew seemed inexperienced. Pay the extra and fly with BA/Air Canada.

I flew back from Alicante with FlyGlobespan. I boarded the plane and several minutes later was
told we would be delayed by 15 minutes. No announcement was made until an hour and a half
later and we were then told we would be delayed for 45 minutes. We were then taken off the
plane, given a free meal at roughly 11pm which was pointless as everyone had already bought
food. At this point there was still no news on when we were leaving. We then went to the
information desk to find out flight was cancelled - no member of FlyGlobespan made an
announcement. I went to the FlyGlobespan desk to be greeted by a Spanish lady that had no idea
what was going on and got told to go back upstairs - then sent to a hotel. We eventually
landed back in Aberdeen at 3-10pm the next day. I am appalled at the lack of information from
Flyglobespan.

Hamilton, Canada to Gatwick return. We have never been treated in such an off-handed and
uncaring manner by any other airline as with Flyglobespan. With the additional costs and
inconveniences caused by Flyglobespan, we might as well have flown British Airways or Air
Canada. Change of departure dates (Hamilton to Gatwick return), and an added stopover in
Belfast from Hamilton Canada to Gatwick, return (we chose a nonstop flight, and received
notification of the change a week before departure). These changes resulted in additional
costs in that we were required to rebook other flights within the UK, date changes in car
rentals and hotel stays. These changes cost us almost 300 pounds. Flyglobespan advertises
inexpensive flights, however when you add in the costs of paying for snacks, drinks, headsets
to listen to music and the movies, pillows and blankets, extra charge for seat selection
(which the airline changes anyway), we could have flown with Air Canada. We did write to the
company, and received the standard apologies as well as frequent references to their "Terms
and Conditions". By taking a look at this webpage of reviews, I see that a majority of the
reviews for Flyglobespan are negative. Does the company care that customer relations are in
the toilet? Do they bother to check whether their customers are satisfied? What happened to
making the customer happy?

Glasgow-Malaga with Flyglobespan. Flight out on time. Prebooked seats so was able to turn up
and check in 45 mins before departure. Inflight champagne £12.50 for 37.5cl, the best price I
have paid on a low cost' carrier. Cabin crew efficient. Return flight 1.5 hours late taking
off due to an ill passenger, but crew handled situation well.

Glasgow - Orlando. Flight booked last year due to good departure/return times. A few weeks
ago they change departure time from 11.30 to 13.15 which is bad enough, but today at check in
we are advised that flight is not leaving until at least 17.45 - the aircraft has now to go to
Palma, then Edinburgh before coming back to Glasgow - unbelievable! We will be lucky to get
away this evening. At present we have been sent home, and to keep phoning airport!
