SIN-TPE-LAX return. Premium Laurel class. Excellent service, flight attendants attentive, courteous
and helpful. We pre-selected our meals through internet before departure, and there were adequate
choices for us to choose from - outbound flight on the mid-Autumn festival day and EVA offered a
special mid-autumn meal. Unfortunately for us, this special meal was not among the choices appeared in
the E-meal selection. However, the attendants managed to give us the special meal appetizer (we would
love to have the complete special meal). The food was excellent, arguably the best I have had. The
seats in A330 and B777 are comfortable but angled flat; horizontal flat seats are preferred.

LHR to Bangkok. Business class new 777-300er. Very clean aircraft. IFE good. Food excellent, FAs were
very good. There is no 1st class - therefore we were in the 3rd row of the plane - very quiet. Only
downside is the seats, which are not horizontal and you slide down the sit when lieing on it.

LHR-BKK-LHR Premium Laurel Class. B-777ER. Excellent service with good choice of AVOD. The new seats
are good for resting but the angle is quite steep and not good for sleeping if you are tall. The
plane was spotless and kept clean throughout the flight. The quality of food was some of the best I
have had for a long time with a good selection of wines. Good value for money and would certainly use
again.

Taipei-Hong Kong return business class. On time and food good. Their business class lounge in TPE
looks more like a mess hall than a lounge, flight attendants a bit too chatty in the galley and the
reservation office in Hong Kong is impossible to get a hold of. Nonetheless, this airline knocks the
socks off any US airline.

BKK-TPE-LAX Premium Laurel Class. B-777 with 2-2-2 seating, 60-in pitch. Very spacious. Staff

comfortable. State-of-the-art entertainment system that worked.

Premium Laurel Class TPE-BNE. Check-in done in minutes, lounge okay,
boarding easy and angled lie-flat seats are quite comfortable (duvets
are really good), although I prefer horizontal lie-flat seats.
Audio/video useful and functional. Food great and excellent hospitality

25 July 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
LAX-TPE-HKG, BKK-TPE-LAX in economy. Check-in at LAX was chaotic, we
were yelled at to go wait outside the terminal; they formed the lines
for the 2 flights outside and then allowed us in to queue in the
designated error. Boarding equally slow with only 5 rows boarded at a
time and most of the agents doing nothing, one spent his time walking
through the crowd and constantly shouting the row numbers boarding.
Onboard, things improved. Meals on the flights ranged from inedible to
great. It was nice to get a hot meal even on the short 1 hour 40 minute
TPE-HKG flight. We often felt dehydrated as the interval between
liquids being offered was long and portions were very small. We did
discover they had juice set out in the very back galley on the long-haul
flight. Flight attendants on the long flights were mainly robotic and
certainly not overly friendly, but nice and attentive on the short
flights. Outbound flights on time, but both BKK-TPE and TPE-LAX were
delayed about an hour and a half, due to a variety of factors. I do wish
the pilots would speak more - I don’t like overly chatty flight crews,
but on all flights they only spoke once before landing. One bright stop
was the entertainment system on new 777s. While a bit buggy (especially
in game mode) and slow to response, it was a great way to pass the time
and kept us entertained. The seat pitch was also decent. Overall, I
would fly EVA again if the price was right.

LHR-BKK-LHR in Economy class. Films and games provided on Eva were of a
limited range. Some slightly better movies were available on the class
above but not for us. On the way out to Bangkok no pre dinner drinks
were offered. The choice of drinks was also pretty limited and the wine
was of very poor quality. The food was not particularly appealing or
tasty unlike Thai, Malaysia and Singapore airlines. Saying that, the
cabin crew were quite attentive with drinks provided on a regular basis,
the seats reclined well and were reasonably comfortable. Toilets were
clean which is good when the plane is full. We were able to check in our
luggage through to Siem Reap and back to London from Koh Samui which
made transfers painless. Overall the experience was reasonable but not
outstanding.

LAX-TPE in Premium Laurel (Business) class. Check-in quick and easy,
with no lines. You get access to the "interim first class lounge" at
LAX, which was OK. Not much food selection, decent drink selection, but
not enough plugs for laptops. B777-300ER looked very new; interior
well-maintained. FAs were polite and helpful, quick to respond to the
call button, and serve you with a smile. The dinner was particularly
excellent. The seat itself is angled lie-flat, and I found it generally
comfortable for sleeping. However, there is a small "break" in the seat
about which separates the backrest from the legrest that was a little
annoying, and also, it was easy to slide down the seat while sleeping,
causing your feet to bunch up against the seat in front of you. IFE
system is AVOD and contains a decent selections of movies, variety
shows, games, etc. All in all, a very nice experience.

Business class from Hong Kong to Mumbai via Taipei. The plane from Hong
Kong to Taipei had angled flat, but not horizontal seats that were fine.
The longer flight from Taipei to Mumbai was on a 747 with old-fashioned
business class seats without much leg room. Fortunately, business class
was practically empty on that flight. The staff, on the ground and in
the air, was very nice. But the food was poor and lounge in Taipei was
tired and had little in the way of food or drink. I didn't have high
expectations, but on balance still felt disappointed. The fare was as
high as Singapore Air (taken in the reverse direction), but the product
felt more like coach compared to SQ's business class.

LHR-BKK-LHR. Nice new 777 aircraft with the fantastic seat back
interactive screens. Managed to watch 4 films on return journey to keep
me amused. Flight crew are attentive and drinks are brought round at
very regular intervals. Food was good, though we pre-ordered asian
vegetarian meals - so I don't know what the standard food was like.
Seats are comfortable (as far as economy can be) allowing me to sleep at
least half the way over to BKK.

AMS-BKK in ED Class on B747 Combi. I flew EVA a number of times in both
ED and super Business and in my opinion it's a good airline. Not more
but certainly not less than that. Food is ok, Seats are ok, Cabin staff
are ok, ED class is certainly worth the surcharge. Return flight they
granted me a free upgrade to Business. The fare makes all the difference
to me.

14 June 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
Bris-Taipei return Premium Laurel Class. My only reason for flying EVA
was to bypass transiting Sydney where I usually connected with China
Airlines to Taipei. The cost of the Business Class fare includes an
economy flight (Qantas) from your state capital city - which in my case
is Melbourne. BR316 leaves at 10:15am so an early departure from
Melbourne was at 6:05am. Luckily that flight left on time and arrived on
time, leaving plenty of time to transit. I found transiting Brisbane
domestic to International so easy. The two terminals are connected by a
short but effective rail link. Which is free to connecting passengers.
Check-in was faultless. Transit through immigration and security was
easy. Due in no small part to the amiable staff on duty at both venues.
EVA uses the small and very busy Qantas Business lounge which is
adequate. As with anything Qantas these days - nothing really good or
special - just adequate! Called to flight on time. Upon entering the
aircraft I was greeted and shown my seat. The colour/ambience of the
business class area was excellent and the seat looked welcoming with a
packaged duvet and a slightly larger pillow. IFE was very good with a
good selection of new & old movies and other entertaining stations -
music/games etc. The food was very good and enjoyable and FA's were
friendly, efficient and attentive. The seat for sleeping on was only ok!
Due in part to it not fully reclining. But I must say that it is not a
bad seat. With a little patience you can achieve a relatively
comfortable position/recline for eating, sitting and sleeping. There are
many new business seats that are much worse than the EVA seat. The
second flight back to Brisbane - great crew and food etc. Slept 5 hours
as this was an overnight flight. The duvet and extra pillows really
helped. Transiting back through immigration, customs and to the domestic
terminal was a breeze. Overall experience with EVA - Excellent.

LHR-BKK, Economy Class. 29th May 2007. Boeing 777-300ER. After the hassle of changing my travel
arrangements due to EVA cancelling their flight on the 30th,
I have to say that my recent flight in EVA's economy class was probably the best flight i've ever
been on. Arrived at airport 5 hours early, and had already reserved my site on EVA's website, but still went
to desk where the Air Canada employee happily checked me in, and also offered an emergency exit
seat. I politely declined as it was a window, and i've been caught out before with limited recline,
and a door slide sticking out right in front of you. Plane left dead on time and arrived 30 minutes
early, dispite heavy traffic at Heathrow. EVA's Boeing 777 aircraft have sufficient leg room even when the person in
front reclines (Im just under 6 foot tall) and due to the 3+3+3 configuration, felt wider then other
economy classes. Aircraft was maybe just 50-60% full, so that helped comfort levels. No amenity kit,
however comfortable flight slippers were provided. Good food, and regular drinks offered by
attentative crew and small snacks available in the galley. Good choice of IFE, which individual TV
screens offering movies, games etc similar to that on Singapore Airlines, but note that most
if not all the aisle seats have the box underneath the seat infront, somewhat limiting the legroom
on these seats. Look forward to my return flight with them, although they have now set themselves very high
standards.

LHR-BKK return Premium Laurel. Slept 6 hours on the way out, service
seemed excellent though inflight bar unstocked so had to ask for extra
water etc. IFE excellent and food (if ordered online prior to flight as
better selection) very good. Lounge at BKK okay, though not much in the
way of hot snacks and the new BKK airport is a bit of a health hazard in
places (wet floors in toilets prior to boarding and exposed wires poking
out through floor!). Return flight, crew appeared relaxed and attentive.
I agree with comments that the seat can be a bit 'slidy' but did find it
a problem.

10 May 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
Premium Laurel Class: LAX-TPE and Elite Class (new Premium Economy):
TPE-LAX. Excellent both in term of aircraft and inflight service from
the flight crew. The angled seat of Premium Laurel is not easy to sleep
on in its full flat position due to gaps on the chair. However if played
around a bit, it can be put into a relaxed position and used for sleep.
I slept 5 hours after a satisfying 6 course meal. Elite Class segment
equally nice. I agree with some of the comments regarding the seating
surface. It's mainly on the forward edge of the seat, which is not
flat and can be uncomfortable for one's thigh. However, the recline is
good and space is better than EVA's old Premium Economy seats on 747.
Service in Elite Class is equally good. However, food was probably
Economy Class food as it was small portion and average in quality.

6 May 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
KIX-TPE in C. Well designed A330 cabin. Seats are more than average for such a short
distance. Inflight meals (Taiwanese) the best I have ever had. A downside is the FA's
care. Even in C they seem to be too busy and reluctant with no smiles. For my TPE-KIX flight in Y on
another day, I share the same impression by Mr. Jay Griffin, and some of other members in this
Forum - no response to my button-call, and finally I walked thru the aisle for asking a cup of drink.
FAs in China Airlines are more warm. The business class lounge in CKS terminal 2 is equipped
with PCs, X-BOX video games, and rich food services. The choice of newspapers is
not satisfying for all the passengers. This place is open for high-status members and
C passengers of ANA, Asiana, KLM, Qantas, Air New Zealand, COA, AAL, Air Canada, CACTUS, Thai Sky
Airlines, and Dragon Air. The code-share ANA business lounge in NRT is pretty good, designed with
a high sense, and more preferable than the Red Carpet in the same building. Ground staff and
telephone operators are always good enough.

My family and I just returned from Taiwan on Eva. KHH-TPE-LAX. We flew
cattle-car-coach on a completely full 777. I slept 1 hour in the 12 hr
flight. For a solid 8 hours, between meals, neither I nor other
passengers in my section was offered a drink of any kind. The only way
to get a drink was to ask a flight attendant directly for one. The meals
were very average. About the same as for my recent China Air flight. But
their FA's were much more attentive in coach.

LHR to BKK, Economy - very pleasant, most cabin crew speak good enough
English. Food good, entertainment good. Only gripe is the silly box
under the seat where life jackets are stored, it makes the leg room much

I have flown EVA three times this past year (ORD-BKK) in Evergreen
Class-no problems on the flights although the seats on the 777 are not
as comfortable as on the 747. My problem is in the erratic pricing on
the website. For example, the ticket I bought for my trip last month
cost approx $1205. That same itinerary on their site now goes for twice
that. For that money I can fly Thai non-stop out of JFK for $1400 plus
what I have to spend to get out to NY from here.

Once again EVA does not surprise me. As an Evergreen Club Member, they
informed me that they are once again reducing the amount of miles
accumulated for Evergreen Class bookings. It went from 115% to 100%, and
given the lacklustre service this airline provides, they are flattering
themselves if they think that my four trips to Bangkok that I make every
year from Vancouver will ever be with them again.

LHR to BKK EVA Air Elite Class B777-300 ER. New aircraft and spotless,
the seats were excellent but as others have commented a little hard on
the base. However seat width excellent along with leg room.T he leg rest
is full and supports all your lower leg. There is a built in movable
headrest with adjustable wings and very supportive. AVOD pretty good can
choose film, music, games, maps, pilot view etc. Pillow and thick quilt.
Meals very good and plentiful, drinks every hour, Cabin staff good,
helpful and polite.

LHR-BKK-LHR -premium economy Boeng 777-300ER. Only criticism is that
the seat in Elite is hard and uncomfortable. When reclined the seat
stays the same shape but tips backwards allowing a leg rest to come out.
This isn't very comfortable. Also there are metal boxes under the seat
in front, but there's enough room either side to put your legs. The
legroom itself is generous and allowed me at 6'2" to cross my legs or
stretch out. Food was quite good on both flights, choice available
throughout Elite class. Cabin service excellent. Call buttons answered
promptly. Water / Juice runs through the cabin every hour. Alcohol
provided on request or with meals. Entertainment system has got better
in the last year. More music choice, now with loads of albums to listen
to on demand with the ability to create your own jukebox. Games OK -
Movie and TV Channel choice was very good. All on Demand.

I have used Eva Air LHR-BKK many times over recent years. I agree with
passengers who say the new Elite Class is not as comfortable as the
former Evergreen Deluxe (on 747s), and I plan to fly Premier Laurel on
my next trip (I have upgraded to this class before). Although I have a
back problem, I had not noticed that the PL seats were uncomfortable -
maybe because I tend to sit upright most of the time. Eva is pleasant
and cheaper than Thai and other competitors. I cannot however speak for
Economy, but would advise passengers to opt for Elite if space is
important.

LHR to BKK last week in Eva Elite. Normally I travel in the back and
suffer on long haul flights, but Evas prices were too good to miss. My
seat was not the one I booked online and returning I had to wait whilst
they found me a seat, but apart from that the luxury of being able to
spread out and sleep was bliss. Airline food is airline food, but it was
plentiful and enjoyable.

LHR-BKK-LHR in November. I flew in Elite class as I'm 6'5" - not happy
with the seats on the new 777's. I could not get comfy at all. I liked
the feeling of space and comfort in the old Deluxe class 747's far
better. FA's overall were good. Good service, just spoiled for me by
the unforgiving seats. Think I will go back to Thai economy next trip.

LHR-BKK-LHR Premium Laurel Class. FAs are getting better and the ones we
encountered on this trip were attentive, efficient and at least 6 for
the front cabin. A good tip: pre-book meals online for Premium Laurel
Class - there is a wider choice than onboard and our selections were
very good. Both flights delayed by late arrival of the inbound service
but all the lost time was made up LHR-BKK and 50% of it on the return
leg. Check-in at both ends was fine and the new EVA Air lounge at
Suvarnabhumi is a huge improvement over the old one at Don Muang - for a
start it has windows! Seating comfortable and the lounge is much bigger
with internet terminals, showers etc. Signage to the lounge isn't
brilliant apart from the cardboard cut-outs of EVA Air FAs placed in the
corridor. There again, signage isn't the strong point of the new BKK
airport. Thai beat EVA on the little things (and the whole J & F check-
in experience at BKK), but the business class Thai seat is similar the
same as the EVA one and EVA is significantly cheaper. I have now
accumulated enough Evergeeen points for an upgrade next time I fly and
note other reviewers comments about how frustrating this can be: I'll
post a further report with my experience!

Evergreen Club. If you are a member of this loyalty club, I wouldn't
bother! When you have the required amount of miles to upgrade, to the
next class, it is impossible to get an upgrade - all they do is put you
on the waiting list, and after many calls to their customer service
centre in London, still no luck. I then used their online website to
book exactly the same flight in the class I'm trying to upgrade to and
guess what - yes, there were plenty of seats available! If you combine
this trickery, with the recent reduction of the miles you can
accumulate, I think their Evergreen Club is a waste of time, I find it
strange for a relatively new airline that is trying to attract customers
and gain their loyalty. I shall be looking for a new airline in the
future on my trips to Thailand.

LHR - BKK - LHR, Premium Laurel. Informed at check- in (LHR) that there
would be a two hour delay, due to the late arrival of the aircraft. 777
aircraft, cabin clean & in very good condition. No Champagne offered for
pre take off drink, only juice & water. Seat very comfortable, cabin
crew attentive and responded to requests. Food and drink above average
with plenty of both on offer. The inflight drinks bar was not really a
bar - more a shelf between two cabins with juice on it, throughout the
flight it was staffed and someone would take your order and deliver the
drink to your seat. All in all a very pleasant experience.

My wife and I flew LAX-TPE-HKG and return; Premium Laurel outbound
(777), Business Class (747) back. We were extremely pleased with the
service and especially seats and entertainment system in Premium Laurel.
I have no idea why they find it necessary to price this high quality
product below the fares charged by their US and Japanese competitors,
it is a bargain in my opinion. Be aware, the Business Class seats on
the 747 are of the older variety and the seat pitch is somewhat limited.
However, I believe EVA intends to replace the remaining 747's on the US
routes with new 777's.

Newark-Ho Chi Minh-Newark, economy. Flying to HCMC, the flight was 2
hours late due to poor weather in both Seattle and Newark. I missed my
connection to HCMC, but ground staff excellent in getting us through to
our destination via Hong Kong. Hong Kong to HCMC, they booked us on a
Cathy pacific flight. The staff also escorted all the passengers with
onward journeys to the gate. The return flights were on time. What made
me happy was the service on the ground. Not known to me at the time of
booking was the courtesy ground shuttle from Newark to NYC and
Philadelphia offered by EVA. When I found out about it while on my
Taipei layover, the staff booked me on a shuttle to Philadelphia. and
cancelled a hotel reservation I had in Newark. That sold me on the
airline. I would never get such service form an American airline.
The flight was comfortable. Food tasty and plentiful. The plane was an
aging B747, but comfortable. The seat had a comfortable pitch and enough
leg room. As stated above, the blankets were very large and soft.
Based on the service provided, I would fly on EVA again

Newark-Ho Chi Minh in Premium Economy. My initial decision to fly EVA
was based primarily on cost. I decided the low fare outweighed the
inconvenience of an extra stopover in Seattle. The flight out of New
Newark left about 30 minutes late, but EVA personnel in Taipei they
held the flight from Taipei to Ho Chi Minh to insure that passengers
from Newark would connect. Taipei Airport personnel escorted connecting
passengers to the connecting flight gate. The planes were clean, flight
attendants incredibly polite and accommodating (they all spoke nearly
perfect English) and food and drink were plentiful and high quality. The
Premium Economy cabin was in the front of the 747. The seats had ample
legroom, slightly wider than coach, and reclined significantly more than
coach, although it was still difficult to sleep in a semi-upright
position. However, it was well worth the few hundred dollars I paid
above the regular coach fare. The bathrooms seemed to be cleaned on a
regular basis throughout the flight. Perhaps the various American and
European carriers should send their flight attendants to Taipei for
customer service training. EVA also had large quilted comforter-type
blankets and pillows at every seat, which added to the comfort level. I
would certainly fly EVA again the next time I travel anywhere in Asia.
