LHR-BKK-LHR Elite Class. Check in at T3 was easy as I had no wait. I had pre-booked my seat which
was honoured. I managed to get through the Fast Track at passport control with an Elite boarding
pass. The flight was good and on time. FA's are attentive and polite, food is average but the drinks
plentiful - FA's go around throughout the flight with juices and water. On the return journey I had
again pre-booked a seat which when I got to check in had been changed and was put at row 26 - near
the toilets. Once onboard I was then asked to move again to row 20 which was an improvement but
frustrating with all the moving about. BKK check in was easy as was passport control with a wait of
only 3 minutes to get through. Flight again fine and landed 15 minutes early. Immigration at T3 LHR
is always a nightmare if there is more than 1 flight arriving. Luckily I had signed up for IRIS scan
which is a fantastic way of beating the queue at passport control - got through in 30 seconds! For
any UK passport holder it is well worth signing up for. Overall I would use EVA again as they are
cheaper and the service is fine. Their 1 big advantage in my opinion is the AVOD which their nearest
competitor for this sector, Thai does not have.

Agree with comments from Bob Andrews, the seat in 8H & 8J were such awful seats to be seated in as
the constant noise behind the seats was very annoying. The food I felt on the flight both to and
from BKK to London was disappointing, felt as if as soon as you were seated your food was then being
served. The selection of films was very poor. All in all the flight in business class is obviously
more enjoyable then economy, however, I would think twice before flying with EVA air again.

LHR-BKK-TPE-LHR. Check in for Premium Laurel Class was very quick. EVA use the SAS London lounge at
T3 which is over-crowded and messy and hardly worth the visit. Boarding was diabolical and chaotic
but once on board the 747-400, it was worth the effort. Business class is on the lower deck in the
front where many airlines have First Class and this is the quietest part of the airplane. The crew
were happy and very attentive but did tend to rush things somewhat. Meal and beverage selections
were good but what awful plastic cutlery on the LHR-BKK-LHR sectors! The seats are spacious and
comfortable in the normal and recline positions but very uncomfortable in the sleep position because
they are angled in two places and not lie flat. BKK is a good airport for transit and EVA has a
pleasant lounge there as they do at TPE. Return journey was a similar experience but I did find it
even more difficult to sleep in the seats. Also avoid 8H and 8J as these are in front of a galley
storage cupboard which seems to be is use continually and the noise and banging is irritating.
Arrived ahead of time at LHR T3 which was extremely crowded and it took nearly 15 minutes to get
through the UK immigration queues which of course has nothing to do with EVA airlines but does mar
the experience somewhat. Despite the few shortcomings, I would fly EVA again as they are good value
for the lower B Class fare that they charge on this route.

Manila from Newark return. B777-300 was clean and flight attendants very attentive to our needs.
Whoever designed and built the seats in the economy section must have done so with small passengers
in mind. The curvature of the seat was so uncomfortable that the pillow and blanket that they
provided had to be a buffer between my lower back and the deep hollow pocket in the back of the
seat. For a long flight, this is not the way to sit and try to catch some sleep. It was tedious and
there was not enough cushion on the seat itself that my behind was all achy when we landed in
Taiwan. Also, there are no manual vents on this plane so you'll have to deal with whatever room
temperature they set it at. They only give you 2 meals for that long stretch of about 19 hours. The
cups were so small that they probably held about 5 ounces of liquid. The entertainment center was a
personal touch screen that offered new and classic movies, in-flight shopping, games and a lot more
which I would say was very good and entertaining. Other airlines beat this airline by a mile in
terms of comfort, food and amenities.

LHR-BKK on 777-300er : appreciated the leg room in economy and cabin clean and comfortable. In
flight entertainment excellent with plenty of on demand choice. On the negative we thought the
service and food was very average and ordinary, although I am comparing this to Singapore/Emirates &
Thai who offer a much better cabin service.

LHR-BKK-HKG, BKK-LHR. Economy class 747-400 upstairs both ways, seats comfortable - 33 inch pitch
and comfortable reclining position. Good selection of movies and games on demand. Fairly limited
choice for meals, noodles or fried rice with fresh fruit and dessert, but well presented and tasty.
FA's pleasant and efficient, regular rounds of soft drinks and snacks. Alcohol on request. Toilet
in upper cabin was clean and remained so for the whole flight. Very good overhead and under window
storage bins.

AMS-BKK-TPE-AKL with EVA Air. AMS-BKK is dreadful - aircraft very outdated B747 with no individual
screens. However service was good. BKK-TPE-AKL outstanding - clean modern aircraft, B777 + A330,
individual screens with plenty choices of movies, music and games. FA's friendly and helpful, though
there is a lack of language skills. But unfortunately EVA Air is still using their old B747 out of
Amsterdam which made me deciding not to use EVA Air again, unless they are using their B777 or A330
to/from Amsterdam.

LAX to BKK connecting in TPE and happy with service and the aircraft. EVA have economy on the upper
deck of the reconfigured 747-400 at a 36" seat pitch. The cabin crew were attentive and friendly
and in the cabin constantly. Only complaint - no separate bar service before the meal, so cocktails
and beer had to be ordered separately (they weren't on the service carts, red and white wine was).
IFE very good - AVOD - and worked on all 4 flights. 777-300ER was great - in economy the most
legroom is at the window seats in row 68, due to the curvature of the seat tracks as the fuselage
tapers. Outbound upgrades from Economy to Prem Economy was sold at LAX check-in for $250 and from
Prem Eco to Business for $1500 each. EVA talks up its 'Chinese Breakfast Rice Soup', so I finally
tried it on approach to LAX and it was disgusting, and I love Congee - so take the Western breakfast!

LHR-BKK Boeing 777-300ER. Seat in economy had good legroom 33", was comfortable and good chioce of
films and games which my 10 year old loved. I made the mistake of ordering a kids meal for her as
had heard that food was spicy so the kids food was indeed 'kids food' - the kind of stuff that I
would avoid, nuggets, chocolate, yoghurt etc. The crew were very pleasant and provided drinks on
request and regular juice and water supplies. Overall excellent value for money and would fly again

LHR-BKK on Boeing 777-300ER. 3-3-3 seating in economy had good legroom and seat was comfortable
managing to sleep for a few hours. Food excellent, crew attentive and provided alcohol on request.
AVOD was good with a large choice of movies, games and music. Only slight downside for me is that
EVA only have 1 daylight flight back to LHR, generally prefer a night flight wherever possible as
can sleep more. Overall I would use them again.

were personal screens with games and movies on demand). The staff were busy but friendly.

LHR-BKK-LHR Premium Laurel Business Class. Flight on time both ways. Seat comfortable for sitting
in, lying down took a bit of getting used to! Its a strange angle but once you relax it isn't too
bad. IFE worked - large screen and on-demand facility, food excellent, service on outbound a little
rushed, but was a night flight. On return, a day flight, lunch service superb, course by course,
beautifully presented. Aircraft spotless including toilets. Crew were pleasant, not great command of
English but they tried. Drinks not widely promoted but if you asked for anything it was brought to
you. Amenity kits by Clarins. All in all a very pleasant, reasonably priced product.

transfer was not done properly. Was barred from boarding the SQ877 flight until they got things
cleared from the EVA side, and the whole process took about 10 minutes. Returning flight was delayed
for 20 minutes and had to endure embarrassment from the stares of passengers because of the fault
not of my own. No follow-up or apologies was made for the mistake. My first time flying with EVA

LHR-BKK on B747-400 in Economy. This flight usually takes off at 2130 but was delayed to 0100 due to
late inbound aircraft, annoying but beyond the airlines control. Flight was full but comfortable
enough with 33 inches of legroom and AVOD with a reasonable selection of movies. Crew friendly with
fairly regular drinks rounds and food average. EVA tend not to promote alcohol consumption - No pre-
dinner drinks, only wine served from cartons available with dinner. So if you like to have a few
drinks - stick with Thai as they will happily bring you drinks all day if you wish. Only downside
with Thai is the IFE on their European routes is not seatback and just overhead monitors. I have
flown all three classes on EVA. Premium Laurel is excellent, Evergreen Deluxe is great for space
and legroom, but probably not worth the extra £400 over the best Economy fare. Overall, I would
recommend EVA Air.

LHR-BKK-LHR Elite Class. We travelled in the Eva version of premium economy on a 747-400, had I
known that Elite is on the main deck and upper deck, I would have asked for an upper deck seat,
which a friend found out and did, it is a bit more chilled up there. The seat configuration is 2-4-2
and legroom is adequate, seats recline to a reasonable angle. Fairly comfy. IFE is good and as I
travelled in March and returned in April I benefited from 2 different movie selections, all quite
new releases. FA's very attentive. The only annoyance was the cabin announcements which are given in
Chinese, English and Thai - so they can get very tedious. They offer Duty Free about 2.5 hours into
the flight which is announced very loud, unlike other announcements which are hard to hear! I have
travelled to SE Asia on Cathay, Thai and SIA and I rate EVA as my preferred carrier since this
experience - EVA have done well to come up with a relatively inexpensive solution.

LHR- BKK return. 747 which has been reconfigured and we sat upstairs on both legs. EVA are one of
the few airlines to have economy on the upper deck and it makes such a difference to the long
flights. On the way out we were lucky enough to have the exit row and had so much leg room. We were
a honeymoon couple and at every stage we tried to upgrade, but they wanted to charge us. However
having the exit row we decided to stick with economy. No complaints with IFE or food and drinks.
Flight on the way home was full and we had a wander around the downstairs and it was not a pretty
sight. Economy looked very uncomfortable (there is more leg room in the upper deck) and loud. There
are only 10 rows or so in the upper deck. Overall very impressed with the airline.

LHR-BKK-LHR. Very easy check in at both airports, baggage waiting after immigration on both
occasions. IFE was ok; at least there is a choice and individual screens. Food was fine, BKK-LHR was
better than going out - drinks selection could be improved. Pouring wine from cardboard cartons
doesn't give the greatest impression but it tasted adequate. Other servings of drinks throughout the
flight were plentiful, FAs were polite and efficient. For the price I would probably use EVA again
over Thai for the fact that the IFE is welcome on such a long flight.

BKK-TPE. Boarding was a mess as again the tour groups pushed in front of the boarding for disabled,
family's, B-class Gold members etc. Flew with worn 747-Comby. Crew on this flight was maybe in a bad

Economy went down in quality, drink variety very limited, Coffee - don't try, teas are OK.

LHR-BKK-TPE-AKL, BNE-TPE-BKK-LHR in Premium Laurel. Excellent meals, ordered in advance and all
arrived as planned. FA's attentive, language skills variable. Front cabin in 747 is quiet and cosy.
Seat on 330 (TPE-Australasia) is better for sleeping - not the awkward angles that other reviewers
have correctly noted on the 747 seats. Lounges at BKK and TPE are unimaginative, and BKK is hard to
find. However, we were invited to go into the garden lounge in Taipei, previously reserved for First
Class only, but there are no washroom facilities here: these are provided in the other lounge.
Enforced overnight stopover (no connection) on return meant that EVA paid for hotel and transfer:
this was provided by Monarch Plaza Hotel in Taipei which is an excellent hotel. I'd fly with EVA
again but wish they would not close the window blinds on a day flight: there is no need to impose
jet lag on anyone! I kept my blind open and other passengers did the same: none of us could
understand why this was necessary and no passenger was sleeping anyway.

HKG-TPE-HKG in business outward/premium laurel return. FA's excellent, meals tasty and a big
improvement on CX meals. Lack of Hong Kong English newspapers on return was baffling, as was the
reading material - all Chinese. Although the Premium Laurel lie-flat angled seat is not much of an
advantage on a short sector, I tried it in the extended position and would find it very hard to
sleep in. It's not completely flat, and the kinks make it very uncomfortable. I could only get
comfortable by reducing the stretch and positioning it like much older standard seats with just
recline and leg rest. Equally awkward, in any position, including upright, the centre fixed armrest
is higher than the other. Since the other one drops as the seat reclines, use of the armrests in any
position feels very strange. Why an airline would choose this seat instead of other much more
comfortable lie-flat seats in the air is a complete mystery? So, 4 stars for short haul - but that
would drop to maximum 3 had it been long haul.

LHR-BKK. Eva have gone downhill - my last flight was in first class, this one in business (First

class. The seat is about as bad as you could get. I despair as to why Eva have introduced this
uncontrollable, uncomfortable backward step. To describe it as flat is simply misleading. The food
was okay but mediocre. the service was slovenly and nondescipt. Its like a different airline
altogether. I would struggle to give them two stars,

SFO-TPE-BKK coach on all legs. The staff was very accommodating in getting my friend and I (both
6ft 4in) seats with legroom. The cabin still felt cramped at times but the food was decent and
their ground service was excellent. We had very close connections to make on both trips, and not
only was staff there to direct us to the connecting gate but our bags were with us every time. On
our return, the Taipei-SFO flight was actually held close to an hour (until 1230am) so that the
group of passengers connecting from Bangkok could make the last flight across the Pacific. Overall,
very accomodating, and do not worry about connecting headaches, EVA will take care of everything.

EVA have re-introduced their old 747's on the London Bangkok flights and worse fitted them with the

LHR-BKK-TPE-AKL, Premium Laurel. 777 LHR-TPE, A330 TPE-AKL. For about the same as premium economy
on other airlines, Premium Laurel is a business class experience. Lounge access at all airports
(rather redundant at BKK because you're only there for 50mins or so) and a superb product in the
air. The seat was very comfy, and although not horizontal it was easy enough to set in an s-shape
so you could sleep FAs excellent as was the food and wine. 777 was a noticeably newer plane and I
thought provided slightly wider seats than the A330, but both were big enough. AVOD was good but
over a 26hr flight (total) could have done with a slightly larger selection of films. Overall very
highly recommended.

of fiddling an S-shape can be made comfortable. AVOD ok. Check-in both ends was fine - we had
pre-booked seats both ways. SAS shared lounge in London fine, lounge in BKK ok to get away from
crowds but drinks/snacks limited. Daytime return flight actually seems quite hard work as yout time-
clock gets out of sync! On return to LHR, from touchdown to leaving T3 short term parking in our

TPE-BKK-AMS Business class B747-400. Taipei staff pleasant and helpful. The lounge at Taipei is fair

hard. The flights were punctual, and the meals and drinks were plentiful and of high quality. The
seats are angled lie-flat, and the sliding down problem of was not an issue. The video on demand
can't compete with Emirates, but easy to use, and provided a selection of current movies. Outbound
check in was typical of Heathrow - pleasant enough staff on the business counter, surrounded by grumpy
staff everywhere else, miserable, stressed people trying to get from A to B, all resentful of the poor
quality, high prices, grime and queuing all around. A busy SAS shared lounge in London, grim boarding
at LHR, and a very limited lounge at Bangkok, with the most artificial tasting coffee I have ever
tried - and there were only four terminals with unreliable Wi-Fi. As I was connecting to another

BKK-AMS-BKK Economy Deluxe. First time flying Eva Air, and direct flight in the old 747 combi was
smooth. Legroom was good because I didn't have a seat in front of me on either leg, if I had it still
would have been quite bearable for a tall guy. Seat width fine, but seat comfort was poor. These are
very hard and poorly contoured seat (unless you're a child). FA's are the best, work non-stop, and
keep a polite and cheerful attitude. Food fine, AVOD was average. Return flight was delayed 12 hours

LHR-BKK-LHR Elite 777. My first time flying EVA. Was a nice change flying premium economy, though for
a more average sized person, it wouldn't be worth the expense. AVOD had some good films/music, but it

SFO-TPE-BKK return in Deluxe Economy/Elite class. Check-in at SFO has a separate counter for Elite
class passengers and very quick. SFO-TPE and TPE-BKK flights on older B747 aircraft but clean interior
and comfortable deluxe economy seats in the front of the airplane. These seats are comparable to US
domestic business/first class and make a big difference on these long flights. They also have personal
TV screens which, however, are rather small and IFE is not AVOD. TPE-BKK on newer B777. Elite class
seats in these aircraft are not as comfortable as the old style economy deluxe seats in the B747 but
have larger TV screens (still no AVOD). TPE-SFO again on older B747 with somewhat worn interior.
Overall, I was very pleased with EVA air. All flights were on time and service was very good, with
friendly flight attendants and better than average food. The only downside was the lack of snack
service or self-service snack bar on the long haul flights.
