BKK-AUH flight delayed more than an hour. All crew unprofessional and not friendly at all
except for a Thai male FA who was a bit friendl. Food service chaotic and tasteless at best,
dirty bathroom with perfumes and tissues thrown on the floor. IFE only working in some
sections and others are not. Would never choose Etihad business class again and would fly Qatar Airways.

Taking Economy in Economy Class to a new level! On yesterday's flight from Bangkok to Abu
Dhabi I was lucky enough to secure the exit row seat 42C - which allowed me to observe the
flight attendants leisure time behavior. They were chatting with their colleagues at the rear
galley and one of them occasionally taking gulps out of the Al-Ain water bottle which was
sitting on the counter. I was thirsty and got up to ask for a cup of water. Sure enough the
girl grabbed her bottle and was just about ready to pour me the desired drink from the same
bottle she had stuck in her throat a minute ago. I intervened, she got pretty nervous about it
and then opened a new bottle from the cabinet. Her arrogant look on her face told it all. The
service crew on this airline is so relentlessly unprofessional that it stinks!

Pearl Business Class BKK-Abu Dhabi-LHR return. Seat okay but narrow - on LHR-Abu Dhabi seat
mechanism was very noisy and had to be forced into flat position. Food service was chaotic and
unfriendly. The "eat whenever you like" idea sounds good in theory, but results in confused
staff & passengers. I waited 3 hours before getting a post take off drink and was not asked
for my meal request. When I finally reminded the flight attendant, his manner was arrogant,
bordering on rude. The constant delivery of meals up and down the aisle means sleep is often
disturbed by tramping feet and movement. Ground staff at gate in LHR had poor service attitude.

SYD-AUH-DUB. Check in quick, attentive staff, although the agent was a bit confused as to what
to do with a gold card member travelling economy - obviously a rare event as she had to go
hunting around for lounge invitation cards and priority bag tags, aside from that was a
breeze. EY use the QF lounge in Sydney which is adequate but not up to speck with the new
lounges at AUH. Onboard a full plane, staff did their job and served meals at the right
intervals. Similarly full AUH to DUB and upgraded at the gate so I couldn't complain about that.

MNL-AUH on a 777-300ER. Boarding fast and organized unlike other EY flights that I have taken.
Seats comfortable, footrests a nice touch and ptvs are huge. FAs were professional and
helpful - downside is they dont smile. After takeoff, they served lunch - tasty but small. IFE
superb but not as good as Emirates. FA's were then gone - they appeared 7 hours later when
they served snacks.

Munich-Abu Dhabi-Sydney return. Apart from two small things, everything generally went ok. On
trying to check in online for outbound trip, computer system hung and suddenly I was checked
in without my having completed the check in process. Was irritated that I had to go to the
airport early but luckily I had an aisle seat which was what I wanted. On second leg of
outbound trip, staff not so efficient and attentive. My neigbour's TV screen didn't work and
it wasn't reset so he didn't get to watch any movies. The checkin staff at Sydney airport very
friendly and efficient. The crew for both legs inbound were efficient. Inflight entertainment
top. Toilets generally clean. Meals were standard airline fare. Because it was an Arabic
airline, they always had something curryish. The seats seemed a bit tight for those on the
heavy side but I was comfortable except for the fact that I can't sleep sitting.

LHR-AUH-MEL and thought they were great. Very good food and although very crowded, we were
attended to well. I will use again as the ticket price was exceptional. Staff at terminals very good.

Dublin-Abu Dhabi-Bangkok. Wasted 2 days on the phone and traversing Bangkok trying to change
return flight date. To change flights cost €125 ,which I knew would be the case when booking
the ticket, however unbelievably this has to be physically paid at the Etihad office - it
cannot be charged to your credit card over the phone or internet. I thought this may be just a
Bangkok quirk and if I rang the Dublin office they would look after me, but this is a
worldwide company policy. Therefore at great inconvenience and some cost I had to locate the
BKK office and travel to it to hand over my credit card. I had to change other flights with
Air Asia at the time also. This took 10 mins to do on their website where the additional
charges were applied to the credit card I had charged the original flights to. Couldn't be
simpler! I felt like it was the 21st century when dealing with Air Asia, in that I could
change my flights from anywhere in the world at any time as long as I had access to an
internet connection. Won't be using Etihad ever again and strongly urge anyone who even thinks
there might be a possibility of changing their flights once they have booked their tickets to
avoid Etihad. In fact if you expect helpful and polite airline booking staff or them to use
modern communications technology to process payments, Etihad is not your airline.

AUH to Cairo. Used Etihad instead of usual Emirates so a comparison. Check in chaotic
despite a dedicated Business class area. Waiting too long. e-gate not working. Lounge small.
Flight called but kept waiting 20 minutes before boarding, lack of communication. Once on
board trying to balance the Arcos entertainment console on lap whilst eating, reading etc was
an art not easily mastered. Food OK and staff attentive. Overall OK compared to other airlines
but I'll still choose Emirates and DXB next time.

SYD-AUH-BRU-MAN-AUH-SYD. Boarding at Sydney and Abu Dhabi chaotic and not well organised.
Upgraded to 1st and service SYD-AUH leg excellent. AUH-BRU service was a bit ragged - staff in
abundance but didn't seem to answer anyone's call in a hurry- weren't rude just disinterested.
MAN-AUH pleasant and attentive staff, food average. AUH-SYD most staff obliging and attentive-
food average. Be warned if you are larger person and you want a window seat, the gap to get in
and out is really tight especially on the 2 class configuration - could be an issue in an
emergency. I am not petite and struggled to squeeze in and out of the gap! If you can, try for
seats 5A or 5K as no narrow entry to these seats- I wouldn't go for an aisle seat unless you
are a solid sleeper- also on AUH-SYD a stroppy passenger didn't want to share one of the
centre double business seats, so staff ran in circles to get another person to move so that it
ended up 2 men sharing- these doubles are rather intimate yet there were couples sitting
separated and strangers seated together. So be prepared to be up close and personal in those
double seats. Be patient in AUH with the airport queue systems for boarding - can be tedious-
also be aware that the walk from the lounges to the gate really is 25 minutes - plus you will
need to do the security check again from one terminal to the next even if transit only.

MAA-AUH-YYZ. I was flying with my family with one infant, ground service at MAA and most EY
staff have performed bare minimum similar to a low cost carrier. I had a good travelling
experience with Etihad two years ago and was happy, but now the crew treats an economy
passenger as a flying beggar sitting on the EY seat. Ground service quality getting lower and
at the bottom level.
