LHR-AUH-KUL return Y class - a mixed bag. LHR-AUH A340 great AVOD, service and food was good though portions were small. AUH-KUL A330, Service better but food was ok. KUL-AUH service was the best - crew friendly. A la carte menu and anytime dining was great - meal was good though portions were quite small. Crew did not do regular rounds of cleaning up. They did not pick up my plates/glasses even after 1 hour I've finished eating/drinking. Chose Etihad because of their bargain flights, new aircraft, great AVOD and generous loyalty programme, and a chance to stopover in AUH to see my family.

AUH-JFK A340, flight full and upgraded to Business class. Ground staff and FA are fine. IFE system is not that attractive and noticed that lists of programming are almost the same within the current year. Flat beds comfortable. JFK-AUH was delayed for about 3 hrs. Food and drinks average for the class. Hope to have better menu next time. Flight costs cheaper as compare to other middle eastern carriers.

Etihad Airways JFK to AUH. The flight was full and boarding began as scheduled - all great. Then, just before the scheduled departure, A340 is taxied and the capt announces that something is not working with the engine. We are on the tarmac for close to 3 hours and finally airborne at 1 AM. We had NO updates from the capt or crew whatsoever! No water or food either. The flight lands 3 hours late in AUH and sure enough almost everyones connection flights were gone. We were directed to the transfer desk and there was one person in the counters to help close to 200 passengers. Wait in line for a while and for 2 hours, I still didnt know where and what my status was. Around 2AM local time (3 hours after my arrival in AUH), I was told I have to wait until the next day's flight. So we knew in NY that the flight is going to be delayed and Etihad couldn't figure anything in 12 hours for those connection flights or arrange hotel plans? I am stuck in the lounge of the airport in AUH and let me tell you, its not much fun! If anything is good, the crew was nice and food great. But, I will never recommend this to my friends and family.

London to Kuala Lumpur via Abu Dhabi. On arrival in the business lounge at T4, the overall first impression is of luxury, but this is where it ends. The lounge is small and feels too cosy (unless you fancy a chat with the person sitting next to you), food choice was very limited (2 main courses, a few snacks, that's your lot) and food had clearly been left or not replaced for hours. The most disappointing lounge experience was the lack of free wine and the range also. Unlike other business class lounges, a waiter service provides alcoholic beverages, unlike other airline lounges which make wine, champagnes, coffees etc freely available for customers to help themselves. Having left the lounge hungry and boarded the plane, I was tempted to have a late lunch on board. The initally appealing a la carte menu is very limited and the food portions very small. Wine range and quality not very good. I spent the duration of the flight feeling hungry looking forward to arrival at the Abu Dhabi business class lounge. The lounge in Abu Dhabi is again too cosy and gets crowded, food range though better still limited, alcoholic drinks again you need to ask. It appears the airline is clearly attempting to cut or minimise costs as it requires passengers to ask for a glass of wine rather than helping themselves. Etihad does not have a lounge at Kuala lumpur and passengers travelling on business or first class can only use the Malaysian airlines lounge. On the return flights from Kuala Lumpur, it was again a repeat of the same: insufficient food, lack of attention to detail. The breakfast choice, selection and amount is simply insufficient and I arrived in London feeling hungry.

Manila-Abu Dhabi-LHR. The flight from Manila was almost empty in business class and was comfortable and well looked after. This flight has lie flat beds which are comfortable and the crew excellent. The on board entertainment lacks strength in depth and the food they offer is more snack based and lacks quality which one enjoys in business class on BA or even premium economy on Air New Zealand. The flights to and from LHR were packed though nonetheless enjoyable and well served by cabin crew. However the cost was as low as a PE seat HK to LHR on BA and the lounge in Abu Dhabi is excellent.

KWI-AUH-MNL return. KWI-AUH and AUH-KWI on A320, clean aircraft, professional cabin crew and plenty of information from flight deck. Transfer at Abu Dhabi in both directions was relatively simple, although a fair hike between terminals, and security not over-bearing: trained ground staff are positioned to help with passengers who are not sure of where they should be. AUH-MNL return on a B777 with a 3-3-3 layout in economy and a generous seat pitch, cabin is more comfortable than some carriers who offer 3-4-3 seating. Cabin crew professional. Food interesting, with three choices of meal. Entertainment very good, with a wide choice of movies, and decent headphones. Toilets clean, although a limited range of soaps and lotions. All flights on time, adequate connecting time in AUH in both directions.

London to Abu Dhabi, cramped seats with minimal leg room. AUH to Bangkok more legroom. Return flight was similar. The seats have a hard metal bar to store the magazines and on many this is broken, on my seat protruding several inches out, reducing the cramped legroom even more. Flight time 7h40 with only one meal which is not enough. The only good thing is the easy turn around in AUH compared to Dubai.

I have made two trips this year MAN-AUH-BKK. I like the fairly short change at Abu Dhabi, where the airport is far less confusing than Dubai. My only criticism is that the inflight entertainment seems pretty much the same in November as it was in March.

Business class seat was a major disappointment. For a long flight from Abu Dhabi to Toronto, it was quite uncomfortable especially the ones which are side by side - just a thin armrest to separate. The seats don't get exactly 180 deg which is another discomfort. The way the remote is placed that somehow it gets pressed every now and then. I cannot say that the crew was completely inattentive but they were not very efficient also. One instance one person completely forgot to serve me the dessert I ordered for.

First to GVA from BAH then GVA-ABU DHABI-BKK return. Fine flight but agree with previous comments: seats far too narrow. Service and comfort not on par with Qatar Airways, or indeed Finnair.

SYD-AUH-CAI. The day flight from Sydney to AUH on A340-600. The inflight entertainment was up to highest standards and cabin crew were attentive. The food was tasty and acceptable, the only downside is that the seats are not that wide and you would get many cramps while sleeping. I was amazed at the quality of AUH terminal 3 - very clean and modern, a big move from the quality of terminal 1. I had a 12 hour transit in AUH before my next flight to Cairo, so I stayed at the airport hotel. The next flight for CAI onboard A330-200, was only a 4 hour flight which was a sign of relief after the previous 27 hours of traveling. Once again the crew were attentive and the flight had same inflight entertainment as previous flight. Overall a very good experience with Etihad Airways.

LHR-AUH-MEL. A very unsatisfactory flight. The seats are too close together and too narrow for comfort on a long flight. The service was poor and food and drink in short supply. Only one full meal was served on the 13 hour leg, and far too little on offer in the way of drinks. The only alcohol on the drinks trolley was whisky, vodka and Baileys - no wine or beer! Whatever we asked for in the way of drinks was promised by the cabin steward but he never acceded to our requests. The fasten seat belt sign was left on for hours on end, even though there was no turbulence - I could go on and on, but this will suffice to explain why this flight was by far the worst that we have experienced.
