AKL-CMB return Economy. There is nothing fancy about this airline. The product is average. The
seat width on the B777 from DXB-CMB made me feel like a caged chicken, to say the least. If
you are a vegetarian then there is a very good chance that you'll exit the plane feeling a
little empty stomached as the meals are poor in standard and inedible. I was dumbfounded to
hear that they now don't serve peanuts in economy and only do so in business and first class.
The cabin crew work like a machine and are focused on getting things done at a rapid pace,
without much attention to possessing a friendly or a vibrant nature. Many seem stressed out
and in most circumstances are quiet reluctant to have a chat. The entertainment system is the
only positive factor that I can associate with Emirates as the picture quality and sound are
quite good.

Frankfurt to Auckland and back to Dusseldorf in First : had a suite except Dubai-Dusseldorf.
A380 Dubai-Auckland-Dubai seats in the suites are great to sit or lie on. Being able to have
some closed door privacy was certainly nice. The showers in the A380 were a real refresher.
The wine and beverage selection was good, as was catering. The service was at worst efficient,
at best friendly. The toilets were spotless. ICE inflight entertainment system - I got to
watch the long intro 6 times in 2 languages within 1 week. Drove me mad. Please give me the
option to skip it. Also the movie selection was very dull with a focus on dramas. The cabin
decor to my eyes is rather garish, but others may like it. The sooner the old First seats are
replaced the better - far less private.

Following on from a previous posting of mine, my flight to Australia is now less than 2 weeks
away and Emirates will not allow me to Upgrade my return flights using my Skywards miles. What
is the point of having a programme that doesn't permit people to access it? I am so
disillusioned with Emirates that this will be my last trip with them after many years of
giving them my business. It is very disappointing to read so many postings from dissatisfied
customers, and I wonder whether anyone from Emirates actually scans this site? They certainly
should.

MAN-DXB-BOM return Business class. B777-300ER on MAN-DXB, the ambience in business class did
not distinguish it from Y class, it looked and felt the same. The 2-3-2 seating reminds of old
Y class, uncomfortable seats, food was mediocre, only positive was the ICE system. The plane
was showing it's age. DXB-BOM an A340-500 with 3 class configuration, at least you could see
and feel the difference in C class, the seating was 2-2-2 and more spacious than 777, food
just about edible. FAs some friendly, some just doing the job. The return was on a B777 on
both sectors, 3 and 2 class configuration. I had heard so much of the service but it did not
meet my expectation in air. When I travel C class I want to feel the difference which was
lacking partially.

Dusseldorf-Dubai recently. I experienced a wonderful flight except for the German Emirates
check-in crew at Dusseldorf airport - very obvious that non-Germans were treated rather
rudely. I understand that economy class involves less pampering, but a simple hello and basic
English communication should not be a luxury. It's the minimum of service one expects. I loved
the rest of the trip including service in Dubai.

DXB-IST Business class. I checked in at the 1st class counter in Dubai and got the kind of
service I am used to by EK ground staff in Dubai - lacklustre, no smiles, nothing to make you
feel anything other than you are a disruption to their day. Business class lounge - what a
joke. So crowded, people sleeping all over the lounges, tables taken up with people on their
laptops hence nowhere to sit and eat - in fact the only place I could find to sit was in the
business centre - finally found a seat in a hallway. Cabin crew okay, Business class seats
were extremely old but only 4h 50 flight. My seat changed without advice at check in or any
time - I am a gold member but have found this means nothing to Emirates. Food very average.
Glad I didn't pay for this - used points to upgrade. I would not pay a premium price for
Emirates Business class.

London-Dubai-Melbourne. London to Dubai a new aircraft with lie flat seats. Dubai to Melbourne
an A340-500, old business class cradle seats which were awful - the seat broke with 6 hours to
go so might as well flown and paid an economy ticket. Food was okay but any choice I wanted
was not available by the time they got to me. Its beyond me why they have old style business
class seats on a 12+ hour service. The reply from the cabin staff was that they will be
upgrading in August this year - which doesn't help on my return trip to London in April! Not
recommended.

Brisbane to Rome. A340 to Dubai felt like being hung from a meat hook, food was okay. Dubai
to Rome in B777-300 was unique - I am sure they could fit another passenger somewhere on the
plane if they tried a bit harder. Not even enough room to move your arms to eat. Dubai back to
Brisbane was torture again. After putting up with the most uncomfortable flights of my life
Emirates forgot to credit my flyer points to my account.

LHR-DXB-TRV return. First leg of journey on A380 and comfortable seating and adequate leg room
- only sitting 4 rows from front so surprised there was no choice of meal. Return journey on
B777 and this was most uncomfortable seating I have experienced on a scheduled flight - this
was charter flight configuration. Again only few seats from front of economy and again no
choice of meal. Why do they bother to distribute a menu when choice of meal runs out at
beginning of service. I would recommend anyone considering travelling Emirates to check plane
type used and not travel on a route utilising the B777. Drinks service was fine if requested
but only one water/juice run on the return leg. With a couple of exceptions, staff seemed very
disinterested in passengers. Emirates today is far cry from their heyday of 10 years ago.

LHR-DXB-JNB : the most uncomfortable long haul flights we have ever endured. B777 with one
seat across than any other carrier I have been on. We had to eat with our chairs on different
angles just to manage. Food barely edible, cold and tasteless. Staff were tartily glamorous
and couldn't have cared less about their customers. "I'm dying to get off and have a fag" said
one Liverpool accented hostess when I commented how cramped the seats were. The airport was a
kind of nightmare scenario full of stale cigarette smoke and people lying everywhere on the
floor. Both aircraft were dirty and worn. 2 toilets out of service. The only plus - what a joy
to arrive at JNB. Never again - be warned don't believe the hype because that is all it is.

AMM-DXB. Emirates has new planes and they managed to squeeze even more seats into them. This
was the most uncomfortable flight I have had. Most people could hardly manage to squeeze into
their seat. It was not possible to eat - mind you the food did not look very appetizing. Very
slow and reluctant service. I used to be a silver member when it was one of the best airlines,
now I make sure that I do not have to fly with them - people and their comfort do not matter
any more.

GLA-DXB-KUL return on B777-300ER. Legroom and seat comfort average for long haul travel, with
excellent attention from on-board crew, high quality in-flight entertainment and good food.
Minor niggles are older aeroplanes with less sophisticated IFE systems and one very poor meal
flying KUL-DXB.
