London/Heathrow - Cairo (return). Both our flights with Egypt Air were
very good. An hour into the flight dinner was served, with options from
chicken or fish. All meals came with a Tutankhamun chocalate piece. A
total of 3 drink services were offered on the flight. Cabin crew were
excellent and there seemed to be many of them available at hand. The
aircraft was very new and seats were comfortable.

The airline offers a non-stop service from Osaka to Cairo at convenient
times avoiding connecting through another city. The flight was on a new
Airbus aircraft which had seats with very good pitch and foot rests.
Onboard service was excellent and 2 cabin crew could speak Japanese
which was helpful . Two meal services were offered (with an option for
Japanese, Arabic or vegetarian meals) both of which were substantial and
of good quality. Landing in Cairo Airport was 10 minutes early and
passengers were escorted to the terminal using buses.

JFK-CAI-SSH and return economy. Better than expected. 777 was well
used, but clean, seats tight, food okay, but overhead screens and sound
were the pits. However, comparable to Lufthansa. FA's a little too
stiff. Flight not full, so could stretch out and sleep. Airbus to SSH
just the same except full. FA's nicer, but only have a few minutes to
get you your snack and pickup the mess. This is a dry airline, so take
your own. Return was full, but condition of plane, food and FA's were
the same. Check-in in Cairo is slow and long. But the last minute fare
can't be beat.

Return trip with EgyptAir from Frankfurt to Cairo. The airline
outsources its check-in to Lufthansa at FRA. Business class passengers
were given priority boarding on the new B737-800. The aircraft was
fitted with and comfortable Business Class seats (unlike in Europe where
they tend to be Economy converted seats). Soon after take off, IFE was
turned on (EgyptAir offer an excellent AVOD system) and a 4 course
dinner service was offered. Attendants attentive topping up drinks.
Arrival into Cairo I was pleasantly surprised by the work done to
modernise the terminal.

CAI-RUH and DMM-CAI, both Business Class. First flight was on a newish
A340 while the latter was an old A320. No real inflight entertainment,
only some songs shown over the overhead TVs. Both food and service were
quite good, and the A340 seating was very comfortable. Both flights were
on time, and had no problem with baggage. Overall very satisfied.

Internal flight on EgyptAir from Luxor to Cairo and back again. The
seats had tissues and other rubbish stuck down the sides and on one
journey, my seat kept sinking back into a fully reclined position on its
own. Our preferred flight back to Luxor was cancelled on the morning of
travel and we were reluctantly booked onto an earlier flight. This
flight was understandably very crowded. On the plus side, we were given
a carton of juice and a piece of dry cake on both trips. The staff all
spoke excellent English to us and there was a good mix of men and women
working as cabin crew.

Frankfurt to Nairobi via Cairo. The flight from Frankfurt to Cairo was
on time, the crew friendly and the food acceptable. It was a brand new
737-800 with winglets. In Cairo we left the plane by bus, arrived at a
building, left it again by bus and arrived at another building of the
airport. And here the Egyptair "thing" happened: everybody had to give
his passport and ticket to the staff of MS. I was worried about leaving
my documents to this people. The reason is they transfer the people more
or less manually and therefore need passports and tickets. About 15 min
later they gave back the documents. The flight from Cairo to Nairobi was
also on time, an Airbus 320, very dirty. I had a problem to get in touch
with the seat with my head. The return flights have been very good.
Again the 320, this time clean, friendly crew, same the 737 from Cairo
to Frankfurt. Good to know they don't offer alcohol!

Brussels to Johannesburg via Cairo Airport. On the Brussels-Cairo sector
an A321 - seating inside was comfortable and the interior clean. A movie
was shown on drop down screen. A dinner service was offered 2 hours into
the flight with beef, chicken or veg option. We arrived into Cairo
around 10 minutes early. Thankfully I had my bags in Brussels checked
all the way through to Johannesburg so I spent the 4 hours between my
flights in Terminal 1's transfer/duty free area (it looks like it was
recently upgraded). There are several themed cafes/restaurants at the
airport like Egyptian, French, American, British, etc which was a nice
touch. Despite my South Africa flight departing at 1:30 in the morning
the airport was busy the whole time. An hour before the flight I headed
to the gate where we were coached to our A330-200 aircraft. As we
boarded 2 cabin crew welcomed us onboard. I was lucky enough to be
assigned an aisle seat in Brussels as the flight was full. As passengers
settled down the safety videos started in several languages (the same as
on the Brussels-Cairo flight). Again seats were comfortable and the
legroom was generous plus the interiors were in excellent condition. Two
meals were served on the flight -dinner then light breakfast. Again
movies were shown on drop down screens and crew regularly came round
offering water. 2 hours before landing breakfast served. Both dinner and
breakfast were very good. Overall I was pleasantly surprised by Egypt
Air. The service, catering and seats are very good and the stop in Cairo
was equally good as the facilities are of a good standard . I would
certainly choose to fly them again!

To my surprise and delight Egypt Air have greatly improved, punctual,
good service, although I don't like the choice of food (beef or fish)
which was not good, but on a 2 hour flight you don't care too much about
food.

A very pleasant trip from Tunis to Cairo, on a clean A320 aircraft.
Dinner was served out of a selection of either meat or fish, both are
very good indeed. Flight attendants are friendly, very helpful and
attentive. The facilities at Cairo International Airport are really
fascinating and good for both arriving and transferring passengers. I
would rate them 4 stars, and will definitely fly with them again in the
near future.

JFK-CAI-JFK on B777 I was impressed with the leg room, one of the best
in the business. B777's don't have PTV's but just a drop screen. FA's
very attentive and helpful. We were served dinner and breakfast and
all you can drink (only soft drinks) in this 10 hour flight. The flight
back to JFK was as good as the outbound flight.

Used Egyptair in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 Heathrow - Cairo - Aswan -
Luxor (road convoy to Hurgada and return Luxor) - Heathrow. Only
problems were UK Teesside to Heathrow and return and Heathrow itself
with too much waiting resulting from last minute flight changes. Also
BMI no longer provide free drinks nor allow through passage of luggage
to Cairo. Will not use Heathrow or BMI again. All Egyptair flights
good, plenty of legroom, reasonable food, friendly staff and good
timekeeping.

Heathrow to Luxor. This flight was absolutely first class! A nice,
immaculately clean B777, friendly, efficient check-in, we were asked
what seats we wanted. Arrived on the plane, warmly welcomed by the all
male staff, who never stopped smiling throughout the flight. Loads of
leg room, and comfortable seats. The crew handed out sweets prior to
take off. No alcohol on board, but the crew handed out soft drinks
regularly, free of charge. In flight meal - by airline standards - was
very good indeed, with refills freely available for hot drinks. The
cabin crew just could not do enough for the passengers throughout the
flight. Regular updates on overhead video screen as to our location,
speed and ETA, together with a camera view from the cockpit, very
interesting! Best flight I've ever been on, and would fly with EgyptAir
again without hesitation.

Cairo to Damascus return. Both flights on A320 and on time. Onboard
service okay. The meals (both identical except for the cake) were bad.
The green salad with the dressing was the only good part of the meal.
The most annoying thing was the very loud and noisy documentary that
they play on each and every one of their flights as inflight
entertainment. The music really gets on my nerves and for the past year
or so they have been playing the same thing on all flights as if
passengers were supposed to memorize it (I think many already did).
Since they give no headphones, one has no choice to escape that
headache. In general, there are many aspects improving in EgyptAir, but
competing is a total different story.

We just returned from a trip to Egypt and were very happy with Egy[tair.
Flew from JFK to Cairo, then to Abu Simbel, from Aswan to Cairo, and
Cairo to JFK. All the flights went very well. The cabin crew is very
good, attentive, etc. We were given food on every flight and offered
beverages also - food was good. I was surprised that even on the short
hop that we were offered not only beverages but a snack. We certainly
don't get that on flights in the US. The planes were clean. All in all
I would use them again.

TOKYO-CAIRO-ASMARA return. I usually fly Lufthansa to get to Eritrea
from Tokyo, (via Frankfurt and Riyadh) however a cheaper fare with
Egyptair was found. Cabin Crew were of a very professional standard and
friendly throughout. They never failed to greet you with a warm smile,
and above all they were all older and seemed to be very experienced
which makes you feel like you are flying in capable hands. Of course,
Egypt Air is no Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific or Emirates, but I
did find all the basics to be of a very polished and high quality.
Cabin interiors of the A340-200 (NRT-CAI) and the A320 (CAI-ASM) were
all spotlessly maintained, with the former having a particularly
pleasing colour scheme. I noticed that upto 80% of the CA were male, and
older middle aged men at that. This was of course augmented by Egyptian
and Japanese female cabin crew. The CAI-ASM leg was also like this, I
would say that about 80% of the cabin crew were male. There were no
personalised TV screens in economy (neither does Lufthansa on their NRT
or ASM routes), however this gave me an opportunity to catch up on much
needed reading. Audio programmes were all Arabic music, and so was the
background music they played upon boarding. Check-in at all embarkation
points went smoothly, and meals were standard economy class fare. Not
great, but not bad at all. There were not enough announcements though.
Announcements from CA and the cockpit were all very short and did not
divulge more than the bare necessities. On a long sector like NRT-CAI,
they could do with a few more announcements, especially from the
cockpit. It seems that Egyptair is intent on developing Cairo as a hub,
and to increase the connectivity of their flights. Good for them! I am
very excited to see the developments of this airline with a great
history and to see them improve their product further! Connections at
Cairo were comfortable and I was very pleasantly surprised by the
facilities there. A much better airport than I expected. I would
recommend Egypt Air to anyone who is not bothered about the latest
entertainment systems (but is perfectly content reading a good book
during a flight) and would like to experience something different from
the mainstream, yet of a high standard. Also, the fact that you may have
to connect flights in one of the worlds greatest cities (Cairo - with
enough time to get into town if you're lucky! Access into central Cairo
from the airport is very easy!) is very appealing! Well done Egypt Air!
Keep up the good work!

Cairo-Jeddah on A342. Soon after take off, FA's served juice (Mango,
Guava, apple and pops). Few minutes later, served breakfast consisting
of Sausage, Omelette, fries, tomatoes with bread, butter, cheese, fruit
salad and Tea or Coffee. Food was great and filling. After breakfast,
another round of Juice and pop. All this in 1 hour and 40 minute flight,
usually all you get here in North America for such a short flight is a
small pack of pretzel and a pop - if any.

Cairo to Sharm-el-Sheik on A321. Domestic terminal fairly basic but
straightforward: check-in desks and straight to the transfer bus. It
was the only flight checking in at that moment, so the whole process was
orderly even though only one desk was open. Check-in staff friendly and
reasonably attentive. Flight was full but they seem to have been
checking big groups somehow separately i.e. they were bussed to the
plane separately from individual passengers. This reduced any
congestion at the check-in desk. A321 looked quite modern to me from
outside. Inside, their choice of some kind of pale brownish colours for
cabin and seats might give it a shabby look but, actually, the cabin was
reasonably new, clean and, overall, comfortable. Adequate safety
announcements shown on overhead screens. Reasonable service
(tea/coffee/soft drinks) - quite adequate for a 40 minutes flight. On
arrival - quick and easy transfer to the luggage hall. Overall,
pleasantly comfortable transfer.

Flew economy London-Cairo on 3rd Dec. I was pleasantly surprised on the
cleanliness of the plane on my outbound journey and amount of leg room.
The staff seemed to offer cushions to Egyptian passengers only but I did
get one when I asked. The amount of food and drink was very adequate and
the staff came round frequently. On 19th Dec I flew Luxor-London: a
different story. The plane was only about 20% full so the staff weren't
busy. We were served a breakfast consisting of a croissant and a dry bit
of cake - no butter or jam, so I resorted to dunking it in my (very
small) cup of coffee. Staff were hardly visible in flight : I had to ask
every time for a drink as no drinks trolleys were served. IFE was non
existent on both routes apart from Flightpath and Egyptian ads.
Headphones were handed out but nothing was worth watching - rather poor
when you consider that the flight is 4.5 - 5 hours long. Worryingly, the
safety procedures are appalling. Cabin crew handed out sweets while the
safety announcement was being shown, and the crew themselves did nothing
to draw passengers' attention to the briefing. English announcements
were barely audible. I almost missed the safety briefing as I wasn't
aware that it had started, The graphics are laughable: a Saddam look-
alike putting on an oxygen mask, and the whole thing looks like
entertainment rather than emphasising safety. On my return flight I
noticed a package by the side of my chair when I boarded. I drew the
crew's attention to this but it turned out to be the life jacket just
slung down by the side of my chair. While the crew were pleasant enough,
they didn't inspire confidence.

Luxor to Cairo and return, for a day trip. The crew on both sectors were rude and
unprofessional. On the outbound sector, one of the crew seated in a passenger-facing seat didn't
bother to fasten his seatbelt for take off and landing. Inbound, there was a woman with a young
baby on her lap, and she fastened her seat belt over the baby! This is a big no-no. The woman
seated next to me had luggage piled up in front of her, which could have inhibited her exit in the
event of an emergency (and perhaps mine too!!). I don't want to sound picky but these are all
important safety issues. Not sure if I am allowed to comment as I do work for another airline but these issues did not
inspire confidence and there is no excuse for the attitude of the crew.

Bangkok-Cairo, Cairo-London return, and domestically Cairo-Aswan-Luxor-Aswan, Luxor-
Sharm el Sheik. The international flights all left late. Bangkok check in was a
chaotic shambles and the plane must have been severely overloaded with cargo/luggage.
The airline does not assign seats ahead of check in. Safety on board
was laughable - people and children not strapped in on landings/takeoffs, people
walking down aisle immediately on landing. The crews did nothing to stop this. Food
was OK. Crew are indeed mature as I have read in other posts - some friendly, some
arrogant, none very professional. If you want a blanket or pillow for long haul flight
in economy, get it as you enter the plane, they carry only a handful. Domestic flights
marginally better. I rate them 1 or 2 stars.

LHR - Cairo - Luxor - Aswan - Abu Simbel - Aswan - Luxor - LHR. Was a little
apprehensive, but couldn't afford BA. The flights were all full and the schedules
were changed more times than I can remember. However, I was upgraded on more than one
occasion - including when they suddenly shut the check-in desk at Luxor and moved the
queue to another desk for no apparent reason. The meals were nice on each of the
legs. In-flight entertainment was a little odd as it re-wound and started again.
Nevertheless, I would fly with them again - staff were more mature than I have been
used to and very friendly. And it was nice to see no alcohol being served which meant
no out of control passengers. The toilets were a little lacking in knick-knacks but I
was pleasantly surprised with what I found of Egyptair and would recommend them.

I flew Egyptair from LHR to Cairo then Cairo to Luxor and finally Luxor to LHR. I wasn't expecting much but the flights were actually quite good. The
MS778 to Cairo used a B777 which was only 2/3 full and arrived 10 mins ahead of schedule. Service
and food were as good as most flights I've experienced with KLM/BA.; IFE was fully
working (old style
screens though). The domestic flight on a full A320 was uneventful; a/c interior did look a bit
tatty though for a modern airbus. Final trip on MS761 not so great; scheduled B777 was replaced by
an A300 which had seen much better days. Flight was completely full and aircon didn't seem to work
very well. When leaving LXR, one of the cabin crew was still moving around as we began the take
off roll; a bit disconcerting. Service/food and IFE acceptable though and we arrived on schedule.

Recently flew MS766 London Heathrow - Sharm El Sheikh and MS765 return. After reading some of the
previous reviews I was a little apprehensive, yet returned pleasantly surprised. On both flights,
check in went smoothly and the ground staff were helpful and attentive. The A320
aircraft on both
flights were well presented and thoroughly cleaned and the cabin crew were polite and interested in
the welfare of their passengers. In flight meals were variable - dinner on the outbound flight very
tasty, but the breakfast was best avoided! Delay of approximately one hour on the return flight as
the aircraft required fuelling at Sharm whilst passengers were boarding but other than that no
problems. Would use Egyptair again on this route as the direct flight is a significant improvement on
flying with another operator and then changing at Cairo.

Recently flew from Cairo to Vienna. Good points were the food and friendly service. However, what
happened to aircraft safety? There was no pre flight safety presentation and no
selection of people
to sit by the wing escape exits. I sat on one of these seats as the plane was empty to get more
legroom but was never questioned regarding what I should do in case of an emergency. Also the lady
in front of me also in a escape exit seat must have been about 70 and could hardly get herself into
the seat never mind open and work an emergency exit door! Bit surprising and disturbing. Least said
about check in the better. Total chaos!

I have to admit I was dreading my 6 forthcoming flights with them - a combination of
long haul and internal.
How wrong I was. Flights were all on time, aircraft clean and comfortable. food no worse than any

cabin announcements were made as the accents were sometimes a bit strong - apart from that I have

Had 5 flights with Egyptair over the Xmas and New Year period 2004/2005. London to Cairo on 777.-2
hours late, inflight entertainment broke down regularly so never saw a full film. Plane grubby.
Return flight on 777, plane was dirty and toilets filthy at take off. Internal flights on A320 were
better but you must re confirm flights as they change flight times regularly. Chaotic check ins and
passengers using mobile phones on approaches and take offs despite crews asking them not to do so.

London to Bangkok via Cairo and back in Dec/Jan. Departure was around an hour late (but when
are flights from Heathrow ever not delayed?) and was pleasantly surprised by the 2-4-3 configuration
of the 777 which enables both couples and larger groups to sit together. The legroom in particular
seemed generous. Service from cabin crew was generally good although
announcements tended to be garbled. Food was OK as well. I stayed in a hotel beside Cairo airport as
we had a rather lengthy stopover in Cairo (scheduled to be around 10 hours). Would advise taking
American dollars/sterling/euros to purchase visa at airport as staff refused to take Egyptian pounds.
Would also advise re-confiriming flight details as was only told my flight from Cairo to
Bangkok being
moved three hours later when arrived back at airport. May also wish to find out whether Egyptair
would put you up in hotel at Cairo airport
On return leg at Cairo airport we were in transit again (this time for only 4 hours) for the flight
back to London. However in transit our tickets and passports were taken off us for around 2 hours as
our flight was processed. This was very disconcerting and meant we had to stay in dull transit room
to await return of passports and boarding cards which was done in a very
inefficient manner.

My wife and I flew EgyptAir during our Egyptian adventure from mid February to Early March of 2004.
In total we flew from JFK to Cairo, from Cairo to Aswan, Aswan to Abu Simbel, Abu Simbel back to
Aswan, Luxor to Cairo, and Cairo back to JFK. This made for a total of 6 Egypt Air flights.
I figured I’d add my comments after I found the website while researching another airline. Over all
my EgyptAir experience is OK. Good, but not great. They are notoriously late -
and never seem to
announce anything about those delays. In JFK we waited 2 additional hours for the flight, in Abu
Simbel we waited a full hour and a half for a flight that lasts only an hour long. It seems that
they are overwhelmed or just tardy. Either way some kind of announcement would be nice. You get a
bit worried that you are at the wrong terminal / or something.
Be sure to reconfirm your flights. That IS documented in the Egypt Airline ticket booklets. If you
are traveling with a tour operator check with them to ensure that ownership of “who’s doing it” is
clear. A cultural curiosity is general applause after successfully landing. Being Canadian I have not seen
that before; but it seems fairly common on the popular Egypt air flights. This spooked me a bit
(everyone rejoicing at still being alive?. Are airplane standards that bad?) - but I soon got used
it. Egyptair food on the trip to Cairo wasn’t too bad; however the meager meal schedule on the return
really lacked. As always it’s a bright idea to pack some extra food with you to tie you over.
Overall? I’d say a grade of 70%.

Had six flights with Egyptair between 25 Dec and 5 Jan. Check-in on each occasion was hopeless,
not enough desks, not enough organisation and not at all friendly. Every flight departed late. The
best was only 10 mins, the worst 90 mins. Not a word of apology from any crew
member. The
planes looked dirty and were uncomfortable and business class was no better. On Cairo- LHR leg
the plane was filthy, smelly and the toilets would have been condemned by UK
environmental
health. Inflight service didn't even include serving us a cold drink during the 5+ hour
flight. The cabin crew were too busy chatting at the back of the plane or selling duty free (3
times!). Luggage reclaim was adequate but on our return to London one case was covered in
footprints
and had two two inch tears in the fabric. No compensation is available according to a letter at
the Aviance handling desk. Not an enjoyable experience.

Booked London-Cairo-Sharm al Sheikh return. Outbound was fine until after Cairo, when the aircraft
stopped at two further provincial airports. It would have been courteous to be informed at time of
booking. Food and in-flight service fine. Arrived over two hours at Cairo for return journey. Was
bumped off plane with excuse that as was overbooked and I had not reconfirmed my return leg (nowhere
on the ticket bought from Air Egypt was this to be read) I would be left stranded. They suggested I
buy a new ticket for next day. Their service to me was abysmal. I ended up buying a ticket Cairo-Vienna with Austrian Airlines and
sat next to a pilot from Egyptair! I told him my adventure and he said it was a familiar story.
Although their pilots get to fly for virtually nothing on Air Egypt, most pilots choose another
airline at commercial prices to get to their chosen destinations. No compensation won as Warsaw
Convention applies to flights starting and finishing on same continent. The whole
flight Cairo-Vienna-LHR cost me >£500. Had I booked BA at £20 more in the beginning, I would have saved masses of
money and an extra day annual leave. Buyer note: I'm too poor to buy cheap!

Egyptair is one of the worst airlines around! Flying Sydney to Singapore in economy class was an
absolute nightmare. The cabin staff did not smile or even welcome passengers aboard the putrid
smelling A320 that we would be cramped into for the next 9 hours. The seats were old and dirty
looking as well. Aside from this the cabin staff took a more than considerable amount of time to
attend to any calls and when serving meals simply threw the meal tray into your face whilst looking
else where, the crew were rude and didn't make any eye contact or smile. The inflight entertainment
consisted of a mainscreen black and white egyptian film that could hardly be seen as it was so
blurry with the time to destination being the most interesting information provided. The radio
channels consisted of only one english station which would rerun after 30 minutes or so. The
landings and take offs were the most scary ever experience.

I regularly fly from JFK (New York) to Cairo, and I can't complain. The 10 hour flight is usually
accompanied by a good movie, and the dinner and breakfast is the best food I have had on an
airplane. This is in comparison with Delta, Iberia, Altitalia, and France air, and Egypt air is by
far the best. The flight occasionaly leaves late, but for the most part, the planes are on time.
Lastly, the staff is usually nice and helpful.

London-Cairo 26Apr - Boeing 777, no problems, clean aircraft, attentive staff, edible food, 45 min late
leaving. Cairo-Luxor 29Apr - Airbus, no seat recline lock on seat in front of me - otherwise no real issues.
Hardly worth giving food out on such a short (50min) flight but the staff were fine. On time.
Luxor-Sharm 1Apr - 737, emergency exit release cover self-detached on both take-off and landing - again
no real issues on a 45min flight and the staff were fine. 30min late leaving.
Sharm-London 4Apr - Airbus, dreadfully hot, stuffy and uncomfortable. Strong smell from the
toilets - only 1 short 'low budget' film. Basically 6 hours of hell and the perfect breeding ground for
every throat and chest infection known to man. Having found the first 3 flights perfectly adequate the 4th was truly appalling - never again!

Little tatty around the edges, their new aircraft Boeing 777 aircraft is brilliant.
Good service although mediocre food. Alcohol is not served but crew are more than happy to
provide a glass for a drinks you may bring with you.

Undoubtedly the worst airline I have ever flown. I have flown
them 3 times, and never escaped with less than a 2 hour delay. Onboard service apathetic at
best - on one flight they only managed to serve meals on one side of the aisle. On one overbooked
flight it seemed likely we would take off with passengers standing in the aisle until the purser
checked with the pilot! Business-class check-in at Cairo resembles a rugby scrum - and they tagged my bags to the wrong
city. I operate on the "3 strikes and you're out" philosophy. Never again! Avoid at all costs.

Egypt Air lounge at Cairo Airport. How we laughed! After the rather poor show at the Business check in we were presented with our
invitations to the Business lounge. We turned the corner and it was the railing
enclosed coffee
shop area. Yup - just a rail between you and the departures concourse. Very nice service mind,
unless you want a beer, as the "lounge" is dry, but the nice man points you towards the duty free,
explaining they sell cans there. Another good thing is the amusement provided by watching
subsequent business class passengers' expressions of disbelief as they round the corner, which are
only matched by the expressions of disbelief of people coming to sit in the coffee shop and laughing
"this is the business lounge?" as they are thrown out.

I fly Egyptair a lot myself. Though Egyptair has its problem with
keeping their flight schedule, I recommend flying with them. New, well
maintained aircraft, pilots of good standard and a friendly cabin crew.
Some problems on the ground procedures are there. What can the Airline
do if only one or two of 6 passport check counters are open in the
arrival zone ?? Or customs who take a long time to check the luggage ?

Mumbai to Cairo, Cairo to Aswan, Luxor to Cairo - back to Mumbai with Egyptair.
Rude, unsmiling staff, pilot smoking in the flight deck, dirty seats, lousy food
- you name it , it is there. The check in at Aswan and Luxor was a
nightmare with people shoving and pushing thru the gates - security men shouting in abusive
Arabic.
The baggage retrieval took more than 2 hrs at Aswan and Luxor with porters charging 5 to 10 LE.

Tunis-Cairo Horus Class (Business) 12 December 2003. Check-in was made by Tunis Air staff was quick and efficient -
used the Tunis Air Business Lounge, which was pleasant. Aircraft left on time and take-off took place while the security announcement was being made on the
video system (which usually is stowed for take-off). Aircraft a new A320 and clean. Configuration of 2x2 was comfortable for this
short flight. The meal was good although there was a limited selection of drinks offered. An entertainment system was offered during the three-hour flight. Staff pleasant and very
attentive. Touch down on time at Cairo airport. Business class cabin were disembarked first and transported by
bus to the terminal separately. All in all this was a good experience on Egyptair, I was actually bracing for the worst when I
originally chose this airline, it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable experience for this
length of trip.

The worst flying experience I ever had. The upkeep of the Airbus was terrible.
We had booked a direct fly from Hurghada to Frankfurt. The first stop at Cairo
took three hours, the second stop at Munich took one hour. The food was very
poor - no
drinks (non-alcoholic) after the start from Cairo up to Frankfurt. The crew were rude.

We decided that flying for 6 hours from LHR-Sharm-LHR it was worth paying the extra and
travelling business class. What a mistake. This is one of the worst airlines I have had the
misfortune to fly.
Whilst the aircraft was not that old, being an Airbus 321, its upkeep was disgusting. The seats were
old, dirty, and uncomfortable - the cushions were so worn it looked if they had been taken from an
old 707! The check-in in Sharm was only one desk for the whole aircraft - no priority for Business
Class, No lounge - only the public fly infested coffee shop (great with a 3 hour
delay). No pre
boarding just a scrum. The cabin crew were rude and unprofessional, spending most time visiting the
flight deck for a smoke which then wafted down to our seats as we were in row 1 rather than looking
after the passengers. The food was poor and the toilets on board were disgusting.
If you have a choice even one on the charter operators would be better. Avoid if you can is my
advice.

Business from JFK-CAI. Good God Worst I have ever experienced in my Business Class
Travel. I can't compare it to Singapore or Delta I generally take, but this airline should be a less
than two star. Horrible! Food was the worst onboard and the lounge was not like a coffee-shop as
someone posted earlier but a stuffy living room in a (mediocre) trailer with a few 'sofas' and a
few uncomfy chair(s). Please avoid.

Egypt Air is without double the worst airline I have ever flown with - A return trip in Business
Class from London to Hurghada (via Cairo) was terrible. Three out of four legs of the journey were
late - 2 sectors 'rescheduled', though no one bothered to tell us even though I phoned to
confirm! The staff were rude and even hostile to their passengers. Security was lax - our
passports were not checked once all the way through Heathrow (we could have been anyone). The
Business Class 'lounge' in Cairo was literally the Coffee-Shop!! Out of the 4 sectors there was
only 1 dedicated business class check-in - the rest were just a scrum of passengers.
A truly awful airline - I wish I had saved my money and travelled with a charter airline to
Hurghada.

I
have flown Egypt Air twice now and I think the airline is reasonable.
Friendly people, the food could be better, but overall it's not a bad
airline. I've flown their A320 and AB6 so far. Good inflight
entertainment, such as music, movies, which are new.

Flew
Johannesburg-Cairo-Johannesburg in December. Travelling first class.
Seat pitch limited and smoking makes flight extremely unpleasant. For
the rest could not fault the airline.

I
flew Egyptair LHR to Cairo, stopped over in Cairo and then Cairo to
Nairobi, I have to recommend both ground staff (at LHR) and FA's, lovely
people, great experience- fantastic to be able to smoke and sleep for a
change! Keep it up guys and thanks, I have already applied for the FF
programme!

I
flew with Egypt Air from Jeddah to Sharm El Sheikh which was not bad at
all. After all I have heard about it, I thought it would be a terrible
experience. For a 1 and a 1/2 hour flight, it was actually pretty good.
The cabin crew were friendly, but the only problem was that we were
delayed in Jeddah Airport for about one hour which was a pain. Again a
few days later, I went from Sharm to Cairo on their Domestic flight
which got even better. We took off on-time, crew again were very
friendly, maybe since we had taken 6 out of the 8 business class seats
and the overall service on both flights was fine.

I
flew Egypt Air from Cairo to LHR - I thought the aircraft would be old,
as before took Egyptair flight. To my surprise the aircraft were new,
and everything seemed to be new on my return journey from London to
Karachi. There was a transit stop over in Cairo - they provided us a
hotel which was quite good and a dinner. When we boarded the plane from
CAI-KHI on our way there was a short stop over in Dubai - we were not
given any notice about the stop over. To my surprise they didn't allow
us to leave the aircraft and they switched off the engine and A/C was
turned off. It was soo hot Ii was about to faint. It was a horrible
journey - in fact I wouldn't recommend to fly Egypt Air on short haul
routes.
