JNB-CAI and CAI-JFK. Pleasantly surprised with Egypt Air, considering the fare on the routing
was far lower than any other airline. Food good on both flights. Drinks sparse, but available
if asked. Cabin crew efficient, not over friendly, but did a good job. Luggage got there
intact. Entertainment system onboard could be jacked up a bit. Terminal 3 in Cairo is a
pleasure.

MUC-CAI-KLIA and back. Uncoordinated boarding of all classes/rows together; lack of drinks
offered during the flight unless you called the FA. Seats in the A330 were acceptable but
compared to competitors they are outdated. IFE was rather poor with choice of 6 English
movies and some Arabian. Crew was friendly but during the flight CAI-KLIA hardly visible. Food
was edible but nothing special - lack of a menu was compensated by having the food displayed
on a cart. Egypt Air lounge at Cairo T3 was ok but food offerings are limited. The Malaysia
Airlines lounge at KLIA was splendid with a great variety of food and drinks.

First flight with Egyptair in more than 13 years! Flying Economy Bangkok-Cairo-Munich. On the
day of the departure I discovered that Egyptair has no online check in which was rather a
surprise as its rather a basic thing especially when they offer you no seat choice when making
the reservation. When coming to the airport I thought it rather peculiar that the check in for
my flight was completely empty of passengers only to notice that the departure time was a
whole hour before the scheduled time on my ticket. No one called and I was glad I was there on
time. Check in by Lufthansa and the agent was quick and no problems there. The plane was an
aged B777-200 but in good shape. The configuration was unconventional but nice (2-4-3) as I am
a window seat person. The flight was comfortable and good leg room, food very edible and
enough. The drink rounds were stingy - only once before food and then the crew disappeared and
cabin presence was not seen at all until the end of the flight where they served breakfast.
The crew did their job but I was surprised that their activities were devoid of emotions so no
smiles and hardly look you in the face. Flight to Munich with a B737-800 - flight wasn't that
long so food and the same stingy drink rounds. Crew hiding throughout the flight For the
price paid I guess I can say it was good value for money - average airline with ok service.

BRU-CAI-FRA Business Outbound was an A320 with limited amenities - overhead movie and not
excessive room but the return to FRA on a 738 with lots of gizmos to entertain. Both flights
had tasty meals and food was well-presented. I liked the fact that the menu options were on a
cart and could be viewed prior to selection. No alcohol but they did have alcohol free beer.
All in all, pleasant flights. The lounge in Cairo was nicely done.

LHR-CAI-JNB. Usual LHR chaos, however Egypt Air check in was efficient as was boarding. LHR-
CAI Boeing 777, excellent legroom, cabin service and best airline meal I have had. CAI-JNB
A330, excellent legroom, cabin service and excellent meal. Video entertainment dated and poor
if you don't speak arabic.

LHR to Luxor with A330, and return with A321. Both planes could use maintenance of cabin
equipment, especially the A321. Seats were broken, many seat backs would not stay upright,
headrests and armrests fell off, cabin lights did not work, IFE screens and headsets didn't
work. Bathrooms were dirty and equipment in them didn't work properly. Just before boarding
the return flight, we were informed of a 15 minute refuelling stop at Alexandria. This took
well over an hour meaning the flight arrived 1.5 hours late. No explanation as to why the
plane was not fuelled for the journey. General communication and passenger information was
poor. Plane took off from Alexandria with open cockpit door - isn't this illegal? Meal service
was chaotic and cabin crew appeared tired and upset. Passengers were as well. This airline
claims to provide maintenance for 70 other carriers, maybe they should find time to maintain
their own planes?

JFK-CAI round trip, plus Egyptair Express CAI-ASW/LXR-CAI economy class. JFK-CAI legs were on
B777 aircraft. The economy cabin appeared to be about 10 years old and could use a good
refurbishing. Inflight entertainment not AVOD but overhead screens throughout the cabin. FA's
friendly, but there were long gaps between meal and beverage services. Food was edible.
Lavatories dirty and smelled bad. On the Egyptair Express side, the CAI-ASW leg was delayed by
1.5 hours, but no explanation as to why. LXR- AI flight on time. Egyptair Express service was
new 76 pax Embraer-170 regional aircraft, with leather seats more comfortable than
international economy class. Inflight service consisted of a beverage service, and FA's were
again friendly and courteous.

Business CAI-HRG. The lounge at Cairo is okay, small room with some croissants, cakes and
drinks. Flew in the Embraer. Was a little confused when they gave me a seat number 20A, but
once onboard discovered that Seat 20A is at the front. I was the only person in Business
class, which is a normal seat, curtained off at the front of the aircraft. Received another
croissant and coffee on the flight. Cabin crew attentive, but felt the safety briefing to be
short and uninformative. Strangely the cockpit door fell open upon takeoff! After landing, I
was allowed off the aircraft first, and sent off alone in an entire bus to the terminal.

Egypt Air from NY to Cairo in November Business Class. I was prepared for the lack of
alcohol (even wine and beer), but was not prepared for the uncomfortable seats on this 777.
The metal bar at the front of the seat cuts off circulation to ones legs. The seat I had on
the way to Cairo did not tilt back more than a couple inches, although on the return it was
okay. In this day of fully reclining business class seats, Egypt Air is clearly way behind.
The entertainment system is at least 10 years old, far before the newer on-demand systems in
most US carriers. I would pay a few more dollars for more comfort, convenience in the future.

DOH-CAI in Business. A321 had seen better days, seats tattered and not a crisp appearance
despite new exterior paint job. Crew attentive with soft drinks and food - the FA seemed
almost hurt that I declined the meal. Silly fun Egyptian comedy shown on overhead screen.
Arrival almost on time in CAI at the fancy new Terminal 3. Not memorable, but no complaints.

LHR-Cairo-LHR and internal flights. Should have been the 3pm flight out but was well after
4.30pm when we took off. Told would be 20 minutes! The crew are not a happy bunch. I have had
worse food - just. EgyptAir it is a dry airline, not a problem if what they offered was even
slightly chilled. Tatty plane, broken seats, revolting toilets. Normally I would upgrade to
business but glad I didn't waste my money. The internal flights were much the same. At least
the flight back took off fairly near to time which was 9.30am. Small croissant and piece of
cake with something called coffee dished up as soon as possible after take off. Lunch was mad
as nearly heading down as they were still serving. Again serious lack of drinks. I would say
the only thing in its favour is the leg room. At least I have now done Egypt and hopefully
will never have to fly with them again.

I've flown about 30 times on Egyptair and am now a gold card holder on their frequent flyer
program. Last flight was BEI-CAI. Flight left five minutes early which is incredible as most
of the time their flights are 20-30 minutes late. Flight was uneventful with cold meat and
bread for the meal. No alcohol on flight. No inflight magazine at my seat but some others
had it. It took 1 hour for my bag to finally show up. An aside - trying to redeem miles for
upgrades/flights is painful. You have to physically go to one of their run down, crowded,
dirty offices to arrange this. When I tried the agents acted puzzled and said they didn't
know what to do and to come back tomorrow.
