I was flying to DOK from Borispol, the check-in "service" and the waiting lounge was absolutely awful with people
standing for 40 mins. The bus wasn't a great experience either. But to my surprise, the aircraft was nearly new
and crew was ok, at least polite. There was no meal, just biscuits and water, but for an hour long flight it is fine. On
arrivals the luggage was delivered on the track with couple men just throwing the suitcases on the ground. In a
couple of minutes they had gone and me and couple other passengers were forced to climb and drag our bags
ourselves. The overall, the service was really poor and primitive but the flight and aircraft was good which for me is
more important. I think it is hugely overpriced as well.

I flew this airline twice flying from Kyiv to Odessa and back. This first trip was on Yak 42,
and second trip a Saab340 turbo prop. The Yak was loud and cramped, the Saab even had the
Ukrainians nervous. Both trips the same, attendants offering candy and water. I see many
comments about Ukrainian Airlines having unfriendly staff, with Ukrainians you have to speak
first, then they are friendly. Staff at Borispol, and Odessa could be a little more friendly.

Kiev to Donetsk on A320. Aircraft old and a bit worn, but legroom good and we were served pre-
takeoff candies, generous-size lunch box and free soft drinks. Crew spoke very bad English,
but apart from this the flight was pleasant. Beware that you can book and pay these flights
online, but still have to collect a very-old-style paper ticket at the airport before flying -
brings out much nostalgia for a western European traveller! Airport infrastructure is so-so in
both Kiev and Donetsk, but once onboard, Donbassaero didn't disappoint.

I have also had the unfortunate opportunity to fly Donbassaero Airlines out of Donetsk, Ukraine.
One of the things which the traveler needs to be aware of is that when they say your baggage
allowance is 20 kilos that includes your carry on baggage and they will weigh both your bag and
carry on. I had a laptop computer with me and their ticket information packet says that
"Videocamera or PC Notebook can be carried free over and above the free baggage allowance:" I was
made to pay extra for mine. The woman who dealt with me had a very stern and uncaring attitude.
This is the first time we have had this problem with an airline and it was not a pleasant
experience. This kind of attitude will cause many problems for Donetsk with the world community.
Donbassaero really needs to change their policy and attitude.

DonbassAero from DOK to KBP. A320. Airport and checking very "soviet" style. Very crowded bus
transfer to the aircraft from the terminal. I was the last person who boarding the bus, the nice
airport agent push me very hard in to the full loaded bus without any apologies! Once onboard very
friendly male flight attendant greeted us with smile - standing by the door with Russian, Ukrainian
local newspapers. While taxiing to the runway at DOK before take-off I seen about two dogs without
guards on the aircraft field, some pax using cell phones! Inflight service great - on 1 hour flight
they offered a big size lunchbox. Captain and cabin crew made PA in Ukrainian and English. Aircraft
clean, no legroom, no video. DonbassAero cabin crew trying do everything possible to make sure the
customers on board are comfortable, but they dont like to pick up a trash. Safety is not a Priority
of Donbassaero!

I had the chance or was unfortunate to fly with them four times the last month.
Three times I was flying in a Yakolev 42. They are very old dark and noisy inside, although
somebody must have tried to brighten the interior up some with paint - I asked my self if they do the maintenance the same superficial way.
Before takeoff, there was the normal passenger briefing in the local language and some kind of
English translation. Before landing nobody cared if the tables were folded away or the seats were
in the upright position. Some seats would not stay there anyway. At least on those flights the
Flight Attendants did smile and were friendly. Not one the one flight in the A320 which does
appear nice from the outside - inside you see it has been around with some other airline for a few
years. There were only a handful passengers on that particular flight, so you would think to get
some special attention from the Flight Attendants. Wrong - after handing out some boxes they
disappeared into the business section to read newspapers and dare not be disturbed!
Hope you like your coffee black, this is the only way it is served on Donbassaero Airlines. If you could
consider this black stuff as coffee in the first place. To be non-discriminatory departures were always on time, this is a big plus in todays
environment.
