CDG-MNP return. Very pleasant, if slightly harried flight staff. Service polite and
efficient. Food decent, but not nearly as good as European or Asian carriers I have flown.
No personal entertainment system, just overhead which was nearly impossible to see from my
window seat. Sound from earphones was terrible on outbound flight and broken on inbound. The
flight attendant told me that quite a few other passengers also had broken sound systems.

FRA-ATL-SAN and SFO-ATL-FRA in business elite. Not the new lie-flat seats on the international
legs, but decent (I upgraded with miles) with good VOD and okay angle to sleep. Food on
international is alright, nothing overwhelming. Cabin attendants attentive and took good care
on the international legs. The domestic flights were ok. Delta offers good upgrade options and
good deals on business class tickets.

Delta roundtrip to Ireland from CA. My problems occurred on only one leg of the flight (from
Atlanta to San Diego). I had "splurged" for a business class ticket, wanting to make my
vacation "special", and was very disappointed to find myself on a jet in which the business
class seats seemed to be no better than economy. It was a waste of my money and I think
others should know to research the jet they may be on and make sure to avoid the one with
crowded business class, or at least not pay higher prices for them. The scheduled jet was
replaced at the last minute by the one which was source of the problem, so I know my situation
was not "normal" , but I couldn't get any one from Delta management to acknowledge the
problem. Also, some of the flight attendants on this leg of the trip were the worst I have
ever witnessed. One sat and ate 2 bags of peanuts after I had requested a beverage, and I
finally had to be served by another attendant - my review is for only this one leg of my trip.

The worst journey that I have ever had, due to a delayed connection by them - we were stranded
and put on stand-by. After two nights sleeping on the floor at JFK and no promise of escape
for at least four days, we bought another ticket from another airline (TAM) and got out of
there with no problem. The luggage was finally retrieved at our end destination two days after
handing it over to Delta (it was on the plane, but we were not, in the UK we are much more
security conscious) The return journey was only made possible by insistence that they give us
tickets rather than itineraries. Delta staff are well scripted in fobbing off passengers, I
estimate that on the same leg of the journey that we were unable to travel, 28 other people
were in the same position (ie. having to find alternative means of travel). This appears to be
widespread and consistent and there seems to be no way you can get your money back.

JFK-Malaga good both ways. On time performance with professional cabin crew. Seats wider
than usual in Coach and meals edible.

TPA-ATL-LGW, LGW-ATL-TPA. The outgoing flight from Tampa to Atlanta was a disappointment,
after a long delay due the flight arriving late from Atlanta, my window seat was changed to a
middle seat on boarding with no explanation. The flight was full and there was not enough
overhead space for all the carry-on luggage. Soft drinks and a choice of peanuts, pretzels or
cookies were offered. Atlanta to London flight was better, seat back entertainment offered
with a good variety of entertainment, full dinner with a choice of a southwestern chicken or
pasta and before landing breakfast sandwiches with fruit. The staff could have been better at
bringing water around during the night. The return flight from London to Atlanta was much
better, although an overhead entertainment system did not offer the variety there was on the
outbound flight, the food was good, a choice between an omelette or chicken with potatoes,
and the service much better as water was continually offered and the cabin crew were very
friendly. On the flight from Atlanta to Tampa my seat was once again changed at the gate,
again with no explanation and little understanding by the gate crew. Again the flight was full
and there was not enough space in the overhead for everyones carry-on luggage. Soft drinks and
a choice of pretzels, peanuts or cookies.

Berlin-JFK, on a B767-300ER. Delta cabin crew now spot stylish uniforms which adds to the
crispness in the brand image. The meal service is quite decent as well. Choices though pretty
standard (chicken or pasta in economy), are tasty, and the selections adequate, plus free
alcohol. Mid-flight refreshment, in addition to pre-arrival light meal service (pizza and
cookie). Aging fleet means cabin comfort is lacking. No personal in-flight entertainment - I
do understand Delta is taking steps to re-outfit this fleet. Headrests are also lacking.

Atlanta-Dubai-Atlanta on B777LR. I was quite impressed with the new lie-flat bed on this
route. The comfort of the seating/sleeping area compared favorably with Cathay Pacific and is
laid out in the same sort of herringbone pattern. Very comfortable in seating and sleeping
positions. Good AVOD with easy touch-screen controls. The tray table operation is counter-
intuitive and requires some practice. Food was average business-class fare; wine selection
limited but imaginative. The cabin crew service was gracious and efficient without being
cloying or obsequious. The Atlanta terminal is a good one for both ends of the trip,
especially if you're transferring to or from another flight in the US. Customs/immigration is
efficient and transferring to another Delta flight is easy.

Newark to Amsterdam. After a pleasant trip out with Air France, thought we would experience
something similar - not the case. The air vent above our seat had been covered in white tape,
great first impression. The inflight entertainment was non existent, no sound working. The
quality of food was poor and we hardly saw any flight attendants during the flight, so
customer service was poor. However, it was a couple with twin girls that really hit home.
The service they received was very bad. Air France provide baby cots, this couple were left
holding the baby for 7.5 hours on Delta.

Various transatlantic economy on 757/767 aircraft. Not a single flight had seatback TV, but
miniscule monitors too far to view or risk neck-ache. Very poor quality seat, pitch, food and
blankets. Although in new uniforms, staff ranged from angry to apathetic, were poorly groomed
and looked harried and unhappy. Unless flying BizElite (itself having a record 6 seat types!)
DL operated transatlantic sectors on 757/767 offer a very poor experience. One wonders why
covering a poor worn seat in new pleather and all the re-painting is money worth spent, when
DL could have enhanced food & entertainment?

CDG-ATL . We were seated the economy section on the 767-300. Incredible lack of leg room and
the seats were very uncomfortable. Although the cabin crew was not rude, they certainly didn't
go out of their way to be cordial. The meals consisted of some kind of pasta with spinach, a
snack of what looked like a slice of pizza and then beverages. Personally, I wondered why
serve such poor food at all. There was an announcement that clearly stated that coach
passengers were not to use the restrooms in the business class. I accept this, but the
announcement seemed to be presented harshly. From my point of view, there are just so many
seats up front, and even though a passenger might want a business class seat, one may not be
available when booking a flight. So, why show what seems to be contempt for the coach
passengers.

Atlanta to Dubai. I have avoided using the US carriers for several years, but chose Delta this
time due to their non-stop which was much cheaper than Emirates. The new, fully-flat business
seat was quite comfortable and allowed a great sleep. The food was quite good, and the on-
demand entertainment system is excellent. Service friendly and unobtrusive. The only
negative was a less than clean plane (discarded bags left behind the seat and fingerprints on
the panels).

So disappointed I was with my recent trip on Delta Air Lines. All of my trips were either
cancelled or delayed with missed connections. It was a nightmare and not easy for my
travelling companion, a 91 year old woman. We spent a great deal of money and time making
sure that we arrived on time for the flight. You would think that the airline would do their
part and make sure the trip is made and on time.
