YYC-ATL; must say I was surprised they had a direct flight! Unfortunately, I was unable to get one on the return. The flight experience was unremarkable; nothing to praise nor complain about. The only thing I felt uncomfortable with was the age of the aircrafts. I think I flew a newer aircraft in the early 1990's than the 2006 trip. It wasn't the cheapest nor was it the most expensive, and I got service that wasn't terrible nor was it very good. I probably won't fly with Delta again, at least not until they upgrade their aircraft.

DSM-ATL-LAX-ATL-DSM. An odd routing but the price was right. We had a remodeled 763 on the ATL-LAX and LAX-ATL sectors. The live direct tv worked perfectly on the outbound trip. Unfortunately, the system was having problems on the way back--after several resets they got the trivia and music to work, but the satellite TV never came on, which was disappointing. Despite having two drink services on the ATL-LAX sector, you weren't given much liquid since they would only give you a small glass. The ASA flight attendant on the ATL-DSM flight was the worst I have ever encountered, yelling at passengers with very rude “service”, which unfortunately ruined an otherwise acceptable trip and knocked the rating down 2 stars.

DUB-ATL-SFO Business Elite. The transatlantic journey was excellent, comfortable with plenty of food/refreshments. IFE was top class and crew attentive. Atlanta - San Francisco leg was not nearly as good - food was terrible, the crew were obviously in the latter days of their careers & really could not have been bothered. Don't expect any great facilities flying first class on US domestic routes.

BOM-JFK-ATL-DEN return Economy. B777-200 on JFK-BOM route. Slightly better seat pitch in economy. Couldn't find AC power ports, although USB ports provided. Nice wide IFE screen. Still have to pay $2 for HBO on international flights. Relatively inexperienced crew in economy for the long hauls. Meals OK. Complimentary alcohol only once with the meal on international flight. Got upgraded twice as silver medallion on domestic segments. On the return leg, got rerouted via ATL instead of CVG due to delayed flight. Still ended up missing the JFK-BOM connection, stranded at JFK for a day (hotel provided). Luggage arrived following day. Mixed reviews, like the new B777-200 on this route. Need better connectivity between JFK and DEN. The missed connections changed my experience from a 4 star to a 2 star.

My husband and I reserved seats on Delta flight 114 to Barcelona a YEAR in advance. We selected seats in the front part of the plane and together. There were several changes during the year so one month before our flight we called a Delta rep and were told our original seats were confirmed. When we got our boarding pass, we were in the last two rows of the plane next to the toilet and not even in the same row. It was a terrible flight. There was so much noise from people going back and forth to the toilet and gathering in groups and chatting that we didn't sleep at all. One inebriated 300lb man lurched out of the toilet and grabbed my shoulder to steady himself. My shoulder ached for a week. I can't understand why we were put in seats no one will buy unless they are desperate when we had had our seats confirmed for a year. I wrote Delta and asked, their answer was "too bad". I don't think I'll fly Delta again.

Seattle to Charlotte first class, with a change of planes in Salt Lake City. When I went online to print our boarding passes on the morning of the flight, I was surprised to see that our assigned seats had been changed from 3 A/B to 33 A/B for the first leg of our trip - I thought there was a mistake so I called Delta who confirmed that yes, we had been bumped out of first class to coach, but couldn't tell me why. I then called the Alaska Airlines partner desk, with whom I had made the reservations. She put me on hold and put in a call to Delta herself and found out that they had made an equipment change that morning to a smaller plane and a row of first class seats had disappeared. I tried again twice at the airport to get them to give our seats back, to no avail. Why us? It wasn't our row of seats that no longer existed on the new plane. Was it because we used our mileage plan instead of paying cash? Or because I didn't print our boarding passes the night before? I asked for compensation and all I got was two first class upgrades for any one-way Delta flight in the US, which are useless because I won't fly Delta again. Luckily it was a short flight and the rest of our connections were intact. I'd still like to know what happened, though.

My flight originated in Berlin Germany (TXL) to Wilkes Barre - Scranton via Atlanta. First leg of Berlin to Paris was via Air France a partner airline of Delta. Unless you got up out of your seat to ask for a drink or anything you were not taken care of! Paris to Atlanta was aboard a Delta aircraft however the service was almost the same. Unless you asked for something "except at meal times" you were not attended too. Along with horrible service after reaching Atlanta I had to claim my bags and re-check them back in for my last flight. I found my Bags after 12 hours total of flying and re-checked them back in on my way home. When I arrived into Scranton (AVP) I was surprised to see my bags had not followed me! After a day or so I finally received my bags. My return trip was quite the same as service goes though. After writing to Delta and complaining about the treatment received from both airlines, I was expecting some sort of e-mail but it took a second e-mail that I had to send to get a short quick sorry for your trouble hope to see you use us again. I would rather swim than use this airline or Air France.

Amsterdam to San Diego via Atlanta. 767-400 on the AMS-ATL leg with leather seats and a good IFE (touch screens). Flight attendants professional (a little bit older than I have seen on other airlines). ATL-SAN on a 757 used for international routes, loads of legroom. Different story on the way back. A domestic 757 from SAN to ATL. very cramped seating and could not see the tv monitors. ATL-AMS on a 767-400 again, which provided good legroom and good IFE, with a banana for breakfast! All flights on time and overall good value for money.

LGA-Chicago Midway operated by Shuttle America using a newish E70. My first time on Delta since 1999. We were dropped off at the regular Delta Terminal, only to be told that the shuttle flights leave from the Marine Terminal at LaGuardia. A $10 cab ride later, and we were at the right place. Check-in in that tiny and old-fashioned facility was practically empty for this Fri afternoon departure. Colleague and I were seated some rows apart, and I was charged $25 for my second bag. Flight was delayed due to rain in the New York area. Marine Terminal itself is small, only one overpriced cafe there. At least the newspapers were free. Friendly gate agent reallocated my seat across the aisle from my colleague despite a full flight. On board, service was typically American - basic crackers and a drink. Flight attendants obviously wanted to be elsewhere. Aircraft in immaculate condition, flight itself uneventful, and made up a little time. Luggage greeted us beside the belt - must have made it on another earlier flight. Overall, a standard experience.

ATL-LHR Business Elite. Departure 10.30pm meant I could work a full day go home relax a bit before heading to airport. Security a breeze at that time. Flight departed on time. Business cabin about 90% full. Friendly crew, prompt service etc. Seats could be lie flat, managed 4 hrs sleep. IFE good, and impressed with selection. Arrival process into T4 no lines and baggage quick to arrive.

Roundtrip on Delta in economy class from Vienna to New Orleans (via Atlanta). I checked in by internet what was easy to handle and also contained a form to provide the immigration-related data. It did not help me as Vienna is only served once a day, hence no own baggage drop lines what forced me to stand in line with all others. The flight was more comfortable than I expected. 767 indeed old but still comfortable and not as overpopulated as a 777 can be. Old-fashioned inflight entertainment is the only I thing I really complain about. Meals acceptably good. The ice cream was a nice surprise and pre-landing pizza a new experience. Main meal consisted of one complimentary alcoholic beverage. During the flight, water served on a regular basis. Flight attendants professional and attentive but some of them should have been grounded in the meantime, although I basically don't mind older employees. It was just a new experience.

MAN-FLL, SFO-MAN in business. Check in at MAN was efficient. The flight to Atlanta was delayed but Delta had already rebooked our connecting flight to FLL. Unfortunately this was on seats at opposite sides of the cabin, which a lady in the Atlanta Crown room managed to change. The flight to Atlanta on B767 was good. Business seat is slightly hard when upright but comfortable in recline. The crew were efficient and friendly and food good; surprisingly so was IFE. The onward flight to FLL was in domestic first (B767) which is nothing special although crew were friendly. Check in for our return at SFO held up by two passengers who had grossly overpacked their cases, leading to the staff being somewhat abrupt with the rest of us. SFO-ATL (B767) was similar to the earlier flight to FLL and again transit at Atlanta was smooth although the lounge on pier E was extremely busy. The flight back to Manchester was comfortable with a friendly crew but food was inedible. They ran out of the steak option after only a few passengers and persuaded us to have chicken which looked and tasted like plastic.

SFO-ATL-GIG business class. The domestic portion of the flight (SFO to Atlanta) basically felt like Economy class 20 years ago - a nominally comfortable seat with some drinks. I guess the good part is that you're not in Economy, which would be even tighter, less comfortable, with fewer drink rounds. I was apprehensive about the flight ATL to GIG (Rio). The 767 plane was obviously older, but the comfort level was perfectly fine: lots of space between seats, seat reclines almost flat for sleeping, and food was actually good. Flight attendants were friendly and seemed to be trying to do a good job. What they lacked in polish, they made up for in attentiveness and competence. All in all, it was a very pleasant, well-run flight.

JFK-SJO-JFK- Economy. Although it rained non-stop during my trip to Costa Rica, Delta really did a nice job. Flights were on-time both ways, decent food was provided, and the price was right. It's nice that they're expanding their JFK hub and adding all these new, exotic destinations.

NCE-JFK-NCE economy. As good as can be expected in economy class and better than many. Cumbersome and slow check in but pleasant agents. Cabin reasonably spacious, seat pitch above average, decent lunch, then ice cream mid flight and a small pizza prior to landing. Cabin crew smiling and helpful and informative announcements throughout the flight. The return flight was much the same except for the check in at JFK which was appalling. I checked in with 3 family members. The four of us went to the check in counter together, where I greeted the female check in agent and presented the passports and e-ticket printouts. The agent ignored my greeting, did not look at us, took the first passport, and then proceeded to check us in individually, ignoring my request for seats together, particularly important as my mother-in-law is only partially sighted and that I did not want my young son to sit isolated from us, and for one window seat. Throughout the process the agent was sullen, disinterested, and unhelpful to the point of being obstructive. We were given four seats of which only two were adjacent and the others on opposite sides of the aircraft. When I thanked her for giving us a window seat she told me that 30A was not a window seat. I said it must be, whereupon she turned to a colleague to ask if 'A' was a window seat. I cannot believe that anyone working for an airline can display such a level of ignorance, or perhaps she was just trying to be difficult. Either way, such behaviour is totally unacceptable. It is a pity that the bad manners or plain ignorance of one employee should have marred an otherwise good experience.

LAX to ATL coach, then Business Class ATL to LGW. Coach was ok; seats were slightly more comfortable then on AA. 767 clean and entertainment system worked fine. Business Class seats ATL to LGW were roomy. Food service good; Delta just introduced new dinnerware and a new menu. My only complaint is that some of the "older" flight attendants seemed to want to rush the food service.

Delta from London to Las Vegas return. The outward flight from Gatwick, was on a 767. This flight was to Atlanta where we caught a connection, a 737 to Las Vegas. The 767 was dreadful, with bits peeling from the walls, an entertainment system which looked like it was from the 1970s (3 tv screens hanging from the ceiling), and a flight crew that looked even older. Does Delta not employ young flight attendants? Plane full and cramped, and when I got up for a quick stroll around, I was told by a member of the flight crew that I wasn't allowed and had to return to my seat straight away. I fell asleep half way through the flight, and missed the Ice Cream that was brought around. I went to the back of the Plane to ask for some, and was told I was too late, even though as I was there the attendant was locking it away in the trolley. The 737 flight from Atlanta was quite good - plane was in good condition, and this time has entertainment systems in the back of the seats, although any decent movies had to be paid for on a credit card. The return journey was a disaster. From Las Vegas we flew to New York (JFK). This time we were on an old 757, which was worse than the 767 we went out on. Another old entertainment system which only worked when it felt like, flight attendants that were old enough to be my granny and shoddy service. All they were interested in was selling duty free! From JFK to Gatwick was a nightmare. Another 757 (which I found unbelievable, I didn't think they did transatlantic flights). Far too cramped, and with the single aisle, it was impossible to move around. The food service was awful, food cold and drinks ran out very quickly. The entertainment system was in the seat backs, but switched itself off randomly - if you were in the middle of a film, you had to go back to the beginning. My friend had a seat where the screen didn't work, and when he reported it to the attendant, she told him it had been like that for at least 6 weeks! All in all, I would urge anyone not to fly Delta. They may look cheaper, but any alcoholic drinks have to be purchased on-board, where as other carriers give them to you free. Delta's price may be a few pounds cheaper, but if you buy a few drinks it soon works out the same as other carriers.

Just flew Delta from VA to FL, with a connection in ATL. What a nighmare each way! Both flights had the wrong departure gate listed, then was stranded when I could not run fast enough to get across the entire ATL airport with no notice. My return flight I was only able to make due to a 2 hr delay! The help at the counter would not so much as look me in the face. I have been on most every domestic carrier, and several international carriers - this was the worst!

Beware the 757, JFK-LGW. When booking did not stop to think about it, but DL is using 757s on some of their JFK-europe routes: LGW, FRA, CDG, etc. The issue is these are basically domestic first class seats (also like CO) with a bit more leg room. Not that Business Elite is that fantastic in comparison to other carriers, but finding a domestic first seat on a long haul intercontinental was not a pleasant surprise. DL network has expanded but at the cost of passenger's comfort and expectation. If you get a 757 don't bother finishing the booking and find an alternate or be forewarned.

Elite business class from Orange County, CA to Atlanta to Barcelona, and back again. Overall, not really worth the price, especially compared to business or first class on other airlines. 757 to and from Atlanta, the seats are set way too tight for business class. And the TV in the back of the seat is ridiculous, especially when the person behind invariably doesn't realize they don't need to touch the onscreen buttons so strongly, which is nearly always the case. Amazingly, coming and going to/from Atlanta (lunchtime going, dinnertime coming back) there was NO food -- we got SunChips, peanuts, and some cinnamon crackers. Thousands of dollars for a flight and I feel like I'm on Southwest. Atlanta to Barcelona on 767: only way these business class seats would even be acceptable is if you are traveling with your spouse, since there is no privacy between adjacent seats, and your heads are aligned and inches apart when reclined. Plus, if you are in a window seat it is impossible to get to the aisle when your seatmate is reclined. You are trapped or end up needing to be a gymnast to straddle the adjacent seat, avoiding the video screens, and the reclined seats in front (which impinge into the space). On the flight from Barcelona to Atlanta it was one hour and twenty minutes before we were able to get a drink - this is business/first class? Plus the meals and the wine selections both ways were awful - strictly coach fare, despite their promotional material touting gourmet items. The whole scene is all a bunch of marketing hype. I won't be wasting my money flying Delta Elite ever again.

MCO-RNO via ATL. Business and First Class. MCO-ATL short flight no problems. Peanuts and drinks as usual along with a packed plane. ATL-RNO first class. Ancient 757 with drop down TV screens. The welcoming crew had a genuine smile but after takeoff we ended up with the attendant who just went through the motions and tossed our meal at us. Considering these were all upgrades we didn't pay for, who is to complain. Come on Delta and retire these old 757's

The television at my seat would not work so I was unable to use my reading light or see any programming. Since it was a night flight I could not work or read. The flight attendant said she was sorry, tried to reset it and then asked me to notify the airline directly - because the airline did not really listen when the staff explained about such problems. I wasn't offered a seat change or any other gesture of help, just repeated requests that I write a letter. I don't like hearing from staff that their company has lousy tech equipment and doesn't listen to staff feedback. I want a restful experience, so I'll go to another airline where the staff has a good attitude and tries to make my experience as good as possible, without bitching about their bosses. My flight went from Atlanta to San Francisco.

I have just returned from a trip to the USA which included 8 Delta Airlines internal fights. Only 1 of these was delayed and my husband and I caught our connection with seconds to spare. Although our first class seats had been re-allocated the cabin staff quickly sorted this out, moving passengers around without fuss. As the gap between flights could have been no more then 10 mins at Atlanta airport we assumed the luggage could not 'keep up'. However we were very pleasantly surprised that all 5 bags arrived in Newark at the same time as we did! No mean feat!

Vancouver/Quito return. The outgoing leg was advertised as a two stop at SLC & ATL. while the return was described as a one stop in Atlanta, as shown both on our original itinerary, and a minor update we got later. On arriving at Quito for the return flight, not only were we informed of a stop in Guayaquil, but were issued boarding passes for the ongoing flight, had to deplane, and go through two additional security checks. It does appear that Delta neglected to mention that scheduled stop in their advertising and our itineries. On arriving home, I contacted Delta Customer Care, and met with equivocation, and stonewalling, as no less that three "Managers" refused to give me a straight answer as to why the stop wasn't noted, adding to my suspicion Delta was using false and misleading advertising describing the flight.

SJO-ATL, ATL-PRG and back. Service on all flights excellent, we were provided with enough drinks and food. Food was ok, tasty. However I was surprised by getting the boarding pass in SJO without seat assignment, this was provided at the gate and as it was announced the flight is overbooked I was a bit nervous. On the flight PRG-SJO I was told that I have to pick up my luggage in ATL and take it through customs. This was repeated many times during the flight too. As the connection is pretty tight, I was nervous not seeing my luggage in ATL and spent 20 minutes waiting for nothing. The luggage was sent to SJO directly, same as on the way from Costa Rica to PRG. This was confusing, otherwise very nice flights and excellent service provided by the crew.

Manchester to Memphis via Atlanta. We were surprised as to the apparent age of the 767, the MD88 in which was used on the internal leg appeared even older. On arrival at Memphis we discovered our luggage was missing, it was not delivered to us until 24Hrs later and no apology was given. On the return trip we were advised that the seats allocated to us on our e-ticket were not available and we had to rebook at Atlanta - we later discovered that those seats had been allocated to the flight crew, so that they could sleep on the overnight flight to Manchester.

Being a Syteam member, I was lucky and caught the new B777-200LR from ATL to LAX in business. The seats are greatly improved and finally flat beds with Skyteam! There are a few downsides - why Delta launched a new business seat but stuck to the mini TV's. They are smaller than most of the newer economy screens (SIA, Cathay etc). Service was alright. Boarding was efficient.

JFK-Budapest-JFK Economy. Both flights full on shabby 767s with antique IFE system. Seat pitch tight but slightly better than KLM or Air France on transatlantic flights. Flight attendants friendly though not that hardworking (Hungarian speaking flight attendants did the lions share of the work both directions). Meals poorer than most other transatlantic carriers - second meal (snack) on Budapest-JFK leg was a disaster. It was a hot pizza with no taste whatsoever embedded in a tin foil container. None of the passengers around me could cut it with the plastic cutlery supplied or get the pizza unstuck from the tin foil. Amenities package (toothbrush etc) in brown paper bag as was menu card though midflight snack listed on JFK-Budapest leg in the menu never appeared. Delta could not register mileage for NW World Perks Silver Elite for the flights as e- ticket indicated first, middle and last name, whereas World Perks card has only middle initial listed so computer would not take it - absurd. Delta charges for alcoholic drinks on transatlantic flights unlike most European carriers.

BRU-ATL-LIM return economy. First leg BRU-ATL departed on time in a 767-300 with reasonably comfortable seats with 32" pitch. Transit in Atlanta is always chaotic especially by passing those TSA security guys who seemed determined to hassle passengers as much as possible, all in the name of "freedom and for your own security". Flight to Lima was full but crew managed to take care of passengers reasonably well. Dinner on some plastic tray was eatable. As usual on Delta, no personal entertainment system in the seat in front of you, they just showed a couple of B-movies on the large screen, technology light years back in time on Asian airlines but still the usual thing of airlines flying in the America's. Return trip was delayed by one hour due to some container getting stuck in the hold of the plane. Still managed to get back on time in Brussels. For the price paid it was value for money, but dont expect any good service or smiles.

I booked on flight 453 from Atlanta to DFW on Tuesday, March 18 - there were weather problems getting to DFW. We landed at Sherevport, La and after sitting on the ground two hours were told the plane was returning to Atlanta...At that point there was no beverages on the plane and none at the airport to restock the plane. No one had eaten so everyone was hungry. Fortunately I was able to get a rent car through my travel agent and get off the plane. I of course, was not able to retrieve my luggage but was told it would be sent to DFW. As of this hour I have not been able to find my luggage - worse than that I can't even talk with a real person. Recordings and email don't get it! To make things worse, the crew of the plane found out about your planned layoffs while we were sitting on the ground - they found out when a passenger found the news on the internet and asked them about it. I give one star for the crew - they were frustrated and being bombarded with questions but handled things well. Management gets nothing.

HNL-LAX in First Class. This was the overnight flight from HNL to LAX. It departed and arrived on schedule. It had been adequately cleaned prior to departure and Honolulu based cabin crew was pleasant and attentive. However, the boarding process was chaotic and I suspect the flight had been oversold because F class, which had been sparse the day before departure, was packed to the gills; nor was there an empty seat in economy. This 767-400 had 2-2-2 seating in F class which felt very tight. Pitch is simply inadequate and seat width is narrow and cramped. The further lack of a footrest on a 5 hour F class flight was just uncomfortablee. There are certainly better options on this route and I will use CO or HA in the future.

CLT-ATL-ONT return Economy. My wife and I were upgraded to exit row seats on all sectors. Outbound flights departed and arrived on time. Ontario-bound 757 was old interior. Impossible to connect ear phones in side armrest jack due to narrow seat. Gusty winds in ONT made for a memorable landing. Good communication from flight deck for all trips. Return 757 had new interior with excellent IFE/seatback AVOD with decent selection of live TV. Quality of purchased food excellent, if not small in portion. Why can't full cans of soft drinks be offered on cross country flight? Senior crews on longer sectors were friendly but seemed clumsy. All planes clean. Transfers in ATL were seamless. All in all a pleasant experience.

Lima to Charlottesville Virginia, Economy Class. Cold dinner snack while boarding was welcome in Lima, and in-flight movie selections from Lima to Atlanta were good. The in-flight crew from Lima to Atlanta was quite friendly and bilingual. Upon arrival in Atlanta, however, some surly gate agents descended on the plane to scream and snarl at everyone, that those with connections to Tokyo get off first, despite many passengers' having much tighter connections. Very unpleasant.

DAY-ATL-MCO-CVG Economy and First Class. Dayton to Atlanta pleasant and on-time, as was Atlanta to Orlando. Seats are comfortable, and cabin adequately clean. The new Delta product is impressive! Although a hassle, my flight back to Dayton from Orlando was cancelled. However, Delta paid for my hotel - it was adequate. I was flown direct to Cinci first class, how much better could that be? Delta seems to have rather poor communications amongst employees, causing more delay than necessary.

Atlanta to Ottawa - I have nothing good to say about Delta. The check in staff were rude. They made us wait 45 minutes (all the while announcing 'final call' for boarding) while they tried, but never succeeded, to find out how to charge us an $11 tax for our 22 month old daughter (who did not have a seat assigned anyway and who had just travelled Delta from Orlando to Atlanta). FA made one passenger wait 15 minutes before answering his call (well she didn't really come by to answer his call at all, but was rather walking by closing overhead compartments). When this passenger asked for a blanket she simply answered 'No blankets'. 3 people in wheelchairs were boarded last on the plane and when one of them asked when they would be boarded, she was asked to try walking instead!
