Takoradi-Accra return. Swift check-in at Takoradi and flight took off on schedule. Snacks was served few minutes
in to flight. The sole flight attendant on the 33 seater Saab aircraft looked professional. The captain took time to
indicate the places we were flying over. However on the return, flight was delayed by 15 mins and as usual snacks
were served. Surprisingly we arrived in Takoradi on schedule. A satisfactory service for a domestic carrier in
Ghana.

I took the short internal flight from Kumasi to Accra with this domestic carrier. It is
advised when buying your ticket that check in closes one hour before departure but, perhaps
because I flew on a public holiday, this was not necessary (I have been told of overbooking at
busy times). The airline issues e-tickets but without the full print out you must first go to
the ticketing office to obtain this with your flying code. Check in at Kumasi is thereafter
simple - there are usually just a few flights a day to Accra using CiTylink and one other
carrier. As is common at many airports in West Africa many people want to give you extra
'help' in the hope of a dash but such approaches were not too excessive. The inbound flight
arrived slightly late but turn around was fast - light touch cleaning helped with the
unexpected benefit of most newspapers carried by the inbound flights passengers being spared
the rubbish sack and thus providing some little entertainment on the 40 minute flight to
Accra. The equipment used is a Saab 340 A with a 2-1 configuration and open seating within a
single (economy) class. As with other small aircraft it is a little cramped but as the plan
was under half full it was not a problem. In flight service was good with a choice of soft
drinks and sandwiches all without charge. Cost was under US$100 which - compared with the cost
of a similar length flight between Accra and Abidjan or Lagos is very good value indeed. Crew
were polite and friendly and baggage was quickly delivered on arrival in Accra. Overall quite
impressed and would use again to spare the long road journey - especially on a Bank Holiday.
