Our first winner is announced for November 2012

WINNING REVIEW :  November 2012

Air New Zealand

submitted by:   J Fairclough   from  France on 12th October 2012

LHR to LAX return. Originally booked Premium Economy, but took opportunity to upgrade both ways to Business at what I thought was a very reasonable price (surprised they accepted my offer to be honest !). I think this idea is a great one, as I've never really understood the logic of airlines that cram everyone into the cheap seats at the back while many potentially lucrative premium priced ones in the front remain empty.

Very impressed with their business product in both directions. Converting the seat into a bed is a bit of a faff, but, once done, it's pretty comfy, and a decent sleep is possible. The angling away from the window takes a bit of getting used to, as I like to look out, but, I guess on most Air New Zealand flights there is not a lot to see apart from miles and miles of ocean!

Food and wine excellent, and very generous all round. Lounge at LHR a bit manic, as it's shared with all the Star Alliance carriers, but the one at LAX is superb, though beware it does not open till 13h30 - before then you are directed to the inferior Air Canada facility next door.

From what I saw, the Premium Economy seats I'd originally booked looked very decently sized, but glad I took the Biz Class upgrade.

IMPORTANT

We request J Fairclough to contact SKYTRAX before 15th November 2012, so that despatch of the Sennheiser Headphones prize can be arranged.  Please  Contact Us  using this feedback form.
