SYD-FCO via TPE and BKK, FRA-TPE-SYD. Lounges - SYD Qantas very good. FRA Cathay good. BKK
China Airlines is small and poorly stocked, drink selection poor. TPE Terminal 1 lounge better
than T2. Food and drink selection poor for western tastes however clean and comfortable. A330
very clean, seats better than A340 and almost lie flat with plenty of room. A340 - probably
about 7 years old kept very clean. Recline of seat was still comfortable, although starting to
wear a little. Food on all flights was presented well, however mostly tasteless and poor
quality. Entertainment was AVOD on all flights. The system did not jam once which was good.
Better choice of films on other airlines but still was okay. Staff were all well presented and
offered very good service. Would fly again if they keep the fares low.

YVR-TPE-SGN return. Professional FAs and on time flights. However, aircraft start to look
pretty tired : seats were hard since cushions were very old. If you get IFE, it will be very
good, but sometimes you only get a main screen movie, so it makes a very long 13 hour flight.
My major complaint is their ticketing procedures. When I tried to change my return flight, I
tried to call many CI ticketing offices around the world, including my issuing office and no
one was able to tell me if the change was possible or not. They told me I had to wait next
morning and call local office in SGN so that they send a telex to the issuing office, and then
wait for their response to know if my flight can be changed or not. I've been assured it can
me done "quickly" within 2-3 days, but my flight was scheduled the next day !

AMS-BKK. The second time I have flown to BKK with China Airlines. This time I was less
impressed. Meal selections this time were far from impressive, in fact they had ran out of
beef on the way out flight so you were left with seafood pasta. I cannot fault the value for
money flight you get with China Airlines, but please sort out your inflight entertainment.

SFO-MNL via TPE. I am large and the economy seating has plenty of room for me! The food is
good and plentiful, FAs are professional and fun. The booking people are helpful if changes
need to be made at the last moment and I always enjoy the trips.

Sydney-Bangkok in business class. We had two of the best flights we have every had on any
airline. CI flights were fantastic - clean aircraft, comfortable angled lie flat seats, good
meals and drinks. Wonderful FA'S with smiles all the way.

AMS-BKK return. This flight was in the old 747 they regularly use on this route. Flew over in
Business Class - the seats are not great and TV's are small and have no AVOD but the service
was great. Only one small problem was the lack of choice when it came to the meal. As a non
fish eater I was a little stuck with some of the courses. Travelled back Economy in the old
fashioned seats which I find have better leg room for some reason than some of the newer
aircraft. Was an acceptable flight. Everything a bit rushed, trying to get us and themselves
sleep I expect. For the price you cant complain.

BNE-TPE-LAX and return business class. I chose China Airlines because their rates were too
good to pass up. Their service in the airport check in, lounge and inflight was first class.
Their catering was also of a high standard with a good range of Asian and Western type meals
available. Flight attendants very pleasant and helpful. Their business class seats could do
with an upgrade (particularly from a sleeping point of view if you are over 180cm tall).

The first class on this airline is exceptional and represents excellent value for money.
Travelled Amsterdam to Bangkok end of July. The newer version of the 747 was used which has
the AVOD system and this makes a big difference. Service from reservations, to check in, and
inflight cabin attendants very customer focused. I would most certainly recommend first class
on this airline for its highly competitive price and quality service.

Narita-Honolulu, Narita-Taipei-Denpasar return Dynasty Class. First time to fly with CI to
Denpasar, to Honolulu was my second time. Both trips fantastic and service was great. FAs
all attentive and friendly. Meals were fine. NRT-TPE 744 a bit old but for less than 3 hours
flight, I didn't mind. Both tickets were really affordable for Business class. I will
definitely book CI again to visit Bali. I can earn NW World Perks mileage using CI which is
also a bonus!

BNE-TPE-BKK return Business class, after getting a fantastic deal of under AU$2000. The major
legs were in the A330 which was a comfortable cabin with good service standards. The seats
though were hard and at full stretch not particularly comfortable. A340 seats were a little
better, and the 747 seats, aging and with limited recline, were comfortable.

HKG-CGK, check in counter at Hong Kong was efficient. The seat is average (2-3-2
configuration), it does recline, AVOD was pretty good. I booked this ticket because a very
reasonable price, the food was good. FA a bit rude, but overall it was pleasant flight, I
probably use this airline in the future.

NRT-TPE-NRT. Service great, one of the best inflight meals I've had. Bread was served warm.
The only fault was that AVOD on outbound flight did not work, but since it was a 3hr flight it
didn't matter much. All in all, I've paid less than 220 USD and would highly recommend this
airline. It's true that B747 does not have PTV installed on every seat, but over-head program
was good enough.

AMS-BKK. Food was okay, cabin crew very good. Inflight entertainment for 11hr flight was
totally unacceptable - my advice would be pay a little extra and fly a decent airline. In
conclusion the staff are good but the this route really needs a more updated aircraft with on
demand entertainment.
