Flight: In last month. The airline tickets may be the cheapest around but it is just not worth the hassle. We flew from Melbourne to
Guangzhou then to Paris, which was fine and everything was fine flight wise, though the cabin crew couldn't
speak a word of English. On the way back to Australia it was a complete mess. They couldn't book us all the
way through to Melbourne, we had to go through customs at every airport we went to which included
Amsterdam, Beijing and Guangzhou all in time lapses of less than 2 hours. On this occasion I have never
seen such a poorly run organisation and by taking the cheapest route it has cost more in my time due to
transiting and the loss of my luggage.

Flight: In last month. AKL-CAN-CDG return Airbus A330 and Airbus A330-200 Our seats were fully flat, easy to operate and we got
an excellent sleep. The flight attendants were charming and always tried to please although English was not
their language. We remember our evening meal out of Paris in particular as it was seven courses and right up
there in quality. Their were only four adult films in English and these were repeated across two flights. We
were worried about being in transit for eighteen hours in Guangzhou but each time we were met and taken
quickly through to the desk of the Pullman Hotel which is across the road from the arrival terminal. The hotel
was at no cost and we did not need a visa.

I fly to Europe 3 times a year and I would have to say that I have been impressed by China Southern. Planes
brand new, seats are fantastic - fully flat, food is good and although English is not a native language to cabin
crew, they bent over backwards to accommodate me. I believe this is the standard all airlines should be
trying to achieve.

Sydney-Canton-Paris. Really uncomfortable seats. Seat belts really small, seat broken leaning back and could
not sit straight, asked to move and told no, man behind complains he cant put his tray down because of my
leaning seat - he gets moved to another seat. Plane was stuffy and hot, call button not working, never saw
staff after lights went out until next morning. No water handed out regularly. I would not recommend this
airline for long haul flights they may be ok for domestic inside China but not for long international.

I am just on the beginning of my journey. However, my flight to Guangzhou got delayed by 2 hours and staff is
currently working on getting me on the earlier flight. This means my luggage needs to be changed to the new plane
as well. I don't know the outcome yet but so far I have to say the staff are very helpful. it is Saturday, 16 June
at 9.50am. I hope everything works out well as I have a connecting flight to Kuala Lumpur at 2.40pm from Guangzhou.
Lets keep fingers crossed that due to the service of China Southern I will reach my flight and be back home with my
wife on time.

The staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. The seat comfort wasn't excellent, but I rated it good because
I'm aware there are certain restrictions about seats in planes. About the inflight entertainment: I would have
enjoyed non-mainstream movies!

SWA-CAN,it was the last flight to Guangzhou by Premium Economy. The price by full charge would be a little high,
but the cabin service is friendly. I thought it would had coffee supplied but no.

PEK-HKG round trip in business class. New A380 used for the route. Take off delayed due to heavy rain
in Beijing but the rest of the journey was pleasant. FA's friendly and attentive. Business class seats very
comfortable with touch screen IFE and partitions to provide extra privacy. Return trip was very smooth. The
airline has improved a lot since I last flew with them. However I do wish they can further improve their
command of English. The only pity is that their PEK-HKG only has 1 flight daily and there's not other Skyteam
partner operating the same route.

CAN-BKK. First a 2 hours wait on the tarmac due to bad weather! The AC's do not work for some reason under
those circumstances and after the first hour it was hot and stuffy, not bettered by the fact that the inflight
food serving was served on the ground. Info was non existent - most announcements were inaudible, at least
the ones in English. This was an old plane and so many things were substandard. Entertainment system
faulty, movie with no sound and subs in Chinese. Dirty toilets lacking in tissue. Disappointing.

Brisbane to Amsterdam (2 flights). For that price I did not expect too much. How wrong I was: good planes,
very good food, enough entertainment (for me that is) and good service. Will fly them again.

I booked us onto China Southern as we needed to get to Guangzhou from Adelaide in a very tight time frame.
CZ offered the only itinerary that would work for us. We stuck to our policy of economy for shorter hauls for
this 8.5 hour flight. Another plus was that I only wanted a one way ticket - CZ offered that at 1/2 the price of
a return. CZ offered 30 kgs of luggage in economy - that is certainly more than One World's 20-23 kg
economy allowance. The cost of the Qantas connection from ADL-MEL, on the CZ ticket was much less than if
I had purchased from Qantas - and we checked our baggage right through from ADL-CAN. In MEL, we went
straight to CZ service desk to collect our boarding pass, avoiding the long queue checking into economy. Nice
clean plane, comfortable seats, amenities pack, cushion and blanket. Very pleasant staff, the food our
neighbours were served soon after takeoff for dinner was a choice of Chinese or Western and breakfast next
morning was simple but sufficient. We deplaned, collected our baggage and were through customs and
immigration at the splendid modern airport in Baiyun and into a taxi in about an hour. If CZ can get me
somewhere for a good price, with a modicum of service, anything on top of that is a bonus, as I have recently
discovered. We got what we paid for.

We as a family of 4 flew BNE-CAN-SGN return. My booking was made solely on price ($2600 for 4 tickets
return). Overall we really enjoyed all 4 flights with SCA. Our initial flight out of BNE to CAN was delayed 3.5
hours due to bad weather - but that couldn't be helped and it did stop us having to wait in China for 6 hours
as was the initial transit time. All other flights ran on time. The food was good and plenty of it. The meals
provided for my children were nice as well. We had no problem with lack of drinks etc. Whilst there was only
overhead entertainment, it wasn't an issue as the trusty ipod touch came in handy for the kids. Overall it was
a good flying experience and we would definitely fly them again, especially considering they were half the
price of the next airline flying from Brisbane to Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam).

Brisbane - Amsterdam (via Guangzhou and Beijing). The flights were fine, planes were clean. IFE between
Brisbane and Guangzhou is limited (bring a book or an iPad), but IFE between Guangzhou and Amsterdam
was fine. There were about 20 recent Hollywood movies to choose from. Food was fine - normal airline food
usually with a noodle or rice option. Stopovers involve a bit of bus-hopping and checking through security
counters, but just follow the crowd. Free hotel stay in Beijing before connecting to Amsterdam. There were
always ground staff waiting to offer instructions to disembarking passengers as to where to go next. It may
not be the professional standard westerners expect, but they get you there.

Auckland to Amsterdam in business. IFE limited but seating comfortable and if you take an ipad it's fine.
Seat roomy, food pretty good and so was service. I'd read on this site about being detained at Guangzhou
and having your passport taken. I'd checked with the travel agent about visas and thought I was ok. Not so.
I was corralled into an area for 40mins. There was no explanation and I didn't bother to seek one due to the
language barrier. The passports were returned with a stamp. The process was farcical but not unnerving. If
this is a regular event, and it seems it is, either the airline could assist by providing some information why
this is happening or the TA could advise what to do to avoid it. Business lounge in Guangzhou great. I
thought it a good deal for the price overall.

Flew LAX to CAN roundtríp Premium Economy. Price very low. Seats 2-3-2 configuration. Three choices for
meals served. Good flying experience. Cabin assistants were not that fluent in English but very attentive.
